CookHouse Pub & Carvery in Liverpool

Just been for a full English breakfast at the cook house and it was amazing. All you can eat. I had four fried eggs, two bacon, two sausages and all of the trimmings. You can can grab as many cups of tea ☕ as you like it's great.

A well lead team from the excellent Manageress/ Owner. Fantastic Food. Polite helpful and attentive staff. Best Pub Food I've had in a long time 👍👍

Combo Platter for £16? Fair enough not when you get 3 of each thing which you could get an Iceland a bag of each for less than a £6 ridiculously over priced it was on the sharing part of the menu you couldn’t really share it wasn’t even enough for one person it really tiny little sauce pot.

Tuvimos un encantador almuerzo familiar de Año Nuevo el 2 de enero. Mi familia es vegana, hicieron un buen asado de nueces, todo el resto de la comida era excelente. El personal era genial también. Muy agradable, limpio, agradable pub local. Yo recomendaría

We went for Christmas dinner 12 people the service was outstanding on Christmas day everything was outstanding we just couldn't fault anything food service anything was spot on and all the staff where brilliant not much more too say but exceptionally "well done" thank you

Staff were lovely, very helpful. Food was ok,not the best carvery though. Place was nicely decorated and clean.

The manager Cheryl was very nice and helped us out. Carvery was nice and fresh even on a weekday. Enjoyed the meat as it was good quality and well cooked. Two main meals for 18£ on a Tuesday was very agreeable, and even included carvery. Overall, very impressed and will be going again!

Great carvery, really fresh and good selection of veggies. Generous amount of meat, definitely be going back. Good deal on a Monday for £7!

Family lunch out, lovely food, staff very friendly and welcoming

A plate of warming food - that was about it. Nothing wrong with it, but not really worth the journey that we made for "Liverpool's No.1 Carvery". All very tasty and generous, with a manageress that was especially smiley and friendly.

Very friendly staff. Food excellent. Value for money. We will be back again. Cannot fault anything. We had carvery items from adult menu and kids menu. Everything was perfect.

Very good carvery and child menu ,the main menu has an excellent selection and good variation of choices to choose from . The staff were pleasant and attentive nothing to fault here.

The food was exceptional, and the staff were very accommodating; however, the manager's manner of speaking to them suggested a sense of superiority, which created discomfort for both my partner and me. Need to get a better manager who values his staff!

Lovely roast dinner beef was very tender

Myself and my grandfather are regulars here and find it a nice cosy pub. Vicky the the manager is very well organised and will try her best to make all feel welcome and at home. Zach is learning still but he will try his very best to make people feel at home here as well as welcome also. Local pub for local people 😅 Great for families. Get your arse there!

First time here and have nothing but positive things to say. The staff were so friendly and the gluten free options on the carvery were amazing. (The only things non-GF on the carvery were cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings and stuffing). Meat was amazing. Had the GF brownies for desert and WOW. 100% going to be returning.

We have been visiting this pub for many years although over the past few months there has been a rapid decline. £5.55 for Cruzcampo when in Woolton Village you can find this for £4.50. you also have to educate the staff as they do try not to serve a full pint. Keep your eyes on your glass before making a payment! The carvery I had experienced today was POOR! Meat was cold (Beef, Turkey & Gammon). Beef was over cooked and not tender. Gammon was very dry and the turkey was actually not bad, moist and full of flavour, but cold... Broccoli, Cauliflower & Cheese, Green Beans were cooked perfectly. Pigs in blankets were also cooked beautifully, crisp bacon and juicy sausage. Beef Gravy was also fine. Full of flavour. Carrots were okay but not much flavour, cut too thin. Yorkshire pudding was like chewing cardboard. Carrots & Turnip was too soggy, Roast Potatoes were disgusting! Undercooked, and far too much fat had been absorbed. I ate half of one small one... Did not eat the rest. Complained about the food to the Male Manager whom was on at the time. He started chuckling and completely didn't offer a refund or an alternative meal. Disgusting! We've been regular customers but these issues are becoming the normal service in here now. Management at the BAR requires changing. The fact the manager started chuckling like it was some sort of a joke is disgusting. I will be finishing my pint and NOT returning to this pub until changes are made. Considering I'm a regular too makes it worse. Furious!

Excellent service from the moment we arrived to the minute we left, food is unbelievable (both carvery and food to order). If there was more stars available they would deserve them, look forward to coming back soon.

Been here a few times for carvery and always been good. However this time wasn't up to normal standard. Food was only lukewarm and roast potatoes small and some were hard. Shame as staff are lovely but would think twice about revisiting.

We had a large party of 20 booked in and the staff were amazing! Service was fast and consistent every member of staff couldnt do enough for us !! Food was amazing as always ! Would highly recommend x

Firstly we were greeted with a great smile and shown to our table. Our drinks order was taken straight away. Ordering process for food is either through app or the old fashioned way at the bar. I ordered 8 meals for us all fish, chicken bites, carvery, gluten free meal which Iight add my brother was very surprised at the choice there was. He ordered chicken wings box he Said it was dry and flavourless unfortunately. Reports on the fish was it was delicious as were the chicken.bites and the carvery. Downside was no Guinness??? I ordered moretti draught it was flat I asked could it be changed I got a new drink with a slightly better head but this was still flat. Some of our party had deserts 1 of which wanted cream with her brownie (my youngest)🤯 this came also with ice cream. We were told we had to.pay £1.50 to add the cream bit shocked by this. It arrived out after being made to pay an addition to the norm it came without ice cream my wife had to ask for this be sent out separately as it came with it. The issues were only small we had and the staff were quick to resolve. The disappointment was because the Moretti was flat on both occasions, we were made pay extra for cream instead of an offer of a swap from ice cream and there was no Guinness on sale here (they did have murphys). I would return again mostly for the carvery but only if I was the designated driver 😂😂

Called by phone three weeks prior to book, then again the day before to change number of people. When we got there there was no record of the booking??? Food was ok, except for the roast potatoes, stale and soggy. Don't think we'll be going back.

We went to the quiz tonight, I have to say it's the best and most fair quiz I've ever been to, very good laugh, the quizmaster is quality.

Best carvery around, meat not dry, the beef is fantastic, veg cooked well. Staff great and friendly, nice and clean tables always cleaned straight away unlike other places. The only criticism I could mention is a few more 0% drinks on offer would be nice, only have 1 Italian 0% lager.

Came in for food and drinks with my daughter, I do come in regularly but I’ve never had time to leave a review!… but I can genuinely say the food, the service and the staff are lovely!.. very helpful and friendly nothing is too much.. special shout out to Phil behind the bar who always has a smile on his face and always asks if everything was ok with our meals and is very friendly!

Recently had a staff night out and I was blown away at the atmosphere and friendly staff. The manager Vic, comes straight up to you with a smile on her face and is happy to help you. It was my first time there…but it won’t be my last. The food was unbelievable. I have told friends and family that we need to go down!

Went with family for a get together lunch yesterday.met by a young lady working alone at first .she must have had sparks comming off her shoes she ran around so much .the food was great .then the rest of the staff came and looked after us . Service 10 out of 10 .

We chose to do lunch here on Bank holiday Monday. The restaurant was very quiet We all decided on the carvery, the beef and turkey were nice but the gammon was very dry. The carrots and parsnips were good but the cauliflower cheese and gravy were tasteless portion size was decent and you can help yourself to whatever potatoes and vegetables you wanted. For a restaurant that does daily carveries you would expect a better quality of food It's a shame on a bank holiday that they inflate the prices especially as the restaurant was so quiet on a normal Monday the carvery is £7 on Bank holiday Monday it's £12.95 so quiet a difference. Don't think we will rush back

This was our second time here. This first time is when it was first opened and it was chaotic, so didn't comment as it wouldn't have been fair. This time, well it was excellent, staff where very polite and pleasant. Food, we had the Carvery. We where both very impressed with the quality and tastiness of all the Carvery. Meat melted in your mouth, Veg, just as we like it. Very clean place.Tables clean and not sticky, toilets very clean as well. So for that I gave it 5☆ Deffo go there again soon.

Great night at the quiz in the cookhouse rainhill. Laughs, loves and a good bash with the lads

First time trying this place and it has made a good first impression. Ordered the carvery which is £9.95 weekdays but £7 on Mondays which is a great deal. The carvery had beef,gammon and turkey and all were cooked well and seasoned well. Then all the vegetables where cooked perfect and seasoned perfect and with chicken or beef gravy to choose from. It really went down a treat and will be back to try other menu items. Minor gripes, one tiny tiny pig in blanket with the carvery it was about the size of half your little finger it was so cute. And the single stuffing ball was gone in one bite. But I suppose they want you to upgrade to the more meat and yorkies and pigs in blanket for a couple of quid more. Fair enough profits are thin these days.But it really was a lovely meal. All the staff seemed happy in general it was sound. Quite large pub with loads of space and a beer garden. Will becoming back to try the all you can eat breakfast buffet. .

Good food ,great service , the place is great for family occasion or just going out for a bit.

Would not recommend to people called in today while passing with my wife and son and our two grandchildren. Seated quickly enough but in a poor location right by the door to the garden with a constant stream of people going in and out and lots of kids running in and out bumping our seats, fair enough it was a nice day and fairly busy couldn't be helped. The service was terrible got both childrens meals wrong, waiter never brought the promised steak knife, or the side plates for the sharing platter. The food was mediocre and quite bland first time i have had a skin on gravy in a pub. All in all disappointed and won't be returning im afraid

I had been to the Cookhouse a couple of times before Covid and hadn't been overly impressed. However, on this visit I was amazed at the transformation. The food was excellent, nicely served by pleasant and helpful staff who were unobtrusively attentive. There was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and in spite of it being a busy time, service was prompt and with a smile.

Great place to have a bit to eat with friends and family, Service was great so was the food. No complaints what so ever. Will come back at some point

Very disappointed. Food was brought out cold when replaced chops csme back uncooked in the middle. Eating area very dirty... sticky tables and dirty cutlery. Unfortunately this will be my last visit here as we had a similar experience last month and put it down to a bad day in there. Sad as we have visited here regularly since it opened. Standards have really dropped

We went for a Sunday roast and it was tasty but not the best, one thing I liked was the turkey, the rest it was pretty simple and plain, lack of seasoning was my opinion. But it was decent, it was a very busy place and everyone was running around and also they had super loud pop music (as loud as a night club) and it was very hard to even have a conversation with my husband. A lot of young friendly people working there but it was too hectic ad stressful atmosphere, not relaxing at all. Loud and overwhelming

The food was excellent and most of all hot.the staff were great,hospitable,warm and friendly but only what you expect in liverpool.shame they have to keep changing the menu seasonally but thats not their fault.shame about not serving Guinness.the only thing is its a little crammed in areas but apart from that nothing to complain about.qell done all

A good place for typical pub food, carvery and other food are available at reasonable prices, sandwiches and breakfasts at earlier times so a good range for the day. Staff are pleasant and service is quite quick.

Food was Luke warm on the breakfast . The only saving grace was the barman was amazing . So funny and enthusiastic . I’d give him 5 stars but the food was cold and the bacon was hard . Need to improve Cook House . Now I know why you were so quiet for breakfast !

Modern, but transitional vibe; friendly, helpful staff; clean toilets; different events throughout the week and the food was tasty. A little expensive for your average pub grub, but given the pub is better than average I think it’s worth that little bit extra.

Enjoyed a birthday celebration, staff where very accommodating, food was lovely reasonably prices and everyone had clean plates. They have children's options which where reasonable, I can highly recommend the fish and chips and chicken kebab
