Great location, situated on Bolt street, very fresh and well done fish and chips, great for kids and served rapidly and with a smile. I really enjoyed the dinner here. Tried the chips with gravy (for the first time) and it was surprisingly good.

It's worse f+Ch I've ever had in my entire life. Thin fish paste sandwiched between 2 greasy soggy bread crumbs surfaces. Chips obviously frozen; burnt outside, hard inside.. never go there again I swear

We came here tonight ordered fish and chips we were served pleasantly by a guy by as an avid everton fan first glance he was a dead ringer for our former manager Ronald koeman however we waited patiently for our foodnto arrive and arrive it did. When we opened it it was piping hot and very flavoursome, I've never taken so long to eat fish and chips until now the flavour was unreal most definately will be back

Ordered the smallest portion of chips (£2.90!) and asked for just salt & vinegar. Waited 10 mins. The fella didn’t tell me you have to season them yourself so walked away with plain, hard chips… great

Few tables. The fish was good but there was a little bit of oil left over and a bit of salt was missing. They should give 2 sauces because one is not enough for the entire dish.

Lovely traditional fish and chip shop, great choice of food, good portion size to suit your appetite. Clean and tidy, freshly chopped food, sit in and relax, fully recommend.

Served with a smile and food was a little time due to the fact it was cooked freshly to order, food came out piping hot, fresh fish with crispy batter and fluffy chips and a tub of lovely tasty peas. Basic but works well, take a seat were you can, trash cans for your rubbish then hit the local pubs and bars.

En general muy bien, buena atención y buenos precios; media ración de fish and chips cuesta 8,20 libras, y para una persona está bien, aunque la ración completa solo cuesta 2 libras más; yo de hecho, terminé el pescado pero no pude acabar con las patatas. El pescado, bien, blanco, muy buena textura y nada grasiento, pero estaba absolutamente soso; es el único fallo que noté.

Located on lively Bold Street, in the heart of Liverpool, this establishment specializes in fish and chips, but also offers chicken, sausages, etc. I went for lunch and opted for half a portion of fish and chips and half a pint of beer, for a bill of £12 (€14.50). In general very good, good service and good prices; A half portion of fish and chips costs £8.20, which is fine for one person, although the full portion only costs £2 more; I actually finished the fish but couldn't finish the potatoes. The fish was fine, white, very good texture and not at all greasy, but it was absolutely bland; It's the only flaw I noticed.

My fish and chips were just ok. The curry sauce to come with it was nice. My son had chicken goujons and chips. The goujon's were terrible. I tried one myself. So most of this was left behind.

The portion of fish & chip is abundant but if you don't add salt it doesn't taste like anything, I wouldn't go back

I've tried Fish n Chips in different locations in the UK and I was never convinced of it. I tried it here and I can say that I love it ! Nice place with kind staff! The fish was so big it took me a while to finish it. Totally recommend it !

Absolutely 5 stars for the fish n chips for me. Lovely crisps chips and a think tasty cod in a perfect batter. Good portion of mushy peas that were just the right cons is and the curry is one of the best I've had. A hint of fruitness if I'm not mistaken and just enough spice. This was my Japanese mother-in-law's first experience of fish n chips in the UK and she wolfed it down. Will definitely be returning.

Came here last night with my family, ordered x2 large fish & chips. Firstly, I would like to say my rating was given because the man who served us was I believe unprofessional and just looked like he wanted to melt into the ground & not want to be on earth let alone serve customers, his whole demeanour was actually off putting as we actually wanted to leave even after paying and ordering already ! After asking a good few times does it come with peas or beans he said * yeah, peas or beans * as me & my husband wanted beans to find out after in the bill we were then charged us for the beans !!!! £ 1.20 for tea size in the pics after saying they are accompanied with the meal. When I asked he then said to me the fish & chips are a meal by itself, and you wanted beans, so that was the extra charge !?!?! The sachet of sauces in the pic are also an extra 50p if you want more, which I think is ridiculous given the size of the fish. Given all that the meal it's wasn't too bad, was fresh & did get ate but the size of the beans was small given the price. The place was relatively clean, the same man who served also locked the toilet door even though customers were still eating, he saw that my 3 year old daughter wanted to wash her hands after her food as said so quite loudly ( he was looking ) & he watched us walk to the toilets ( we didn't no at this point they had been locked ) & didn't even bother telling us or acknowled us in any way to unlock it to allow her to was them. I personally think that's terrible service. As a person who enjoys eating out locally, I definitely wouldn't return, nor would I recommend, based on last, my first visit last night. Customer service skills definitely need improving, I am totally understanding to the fact people have good & bad days, but his service was just dreadful, in my opinion.

Being tempted by great reviews on Google, I went there for a fish and chips with an ice cold drink. To be honest, this was beyond my expectations! Cosy place, feel-at-home staff and fresh food! Good job, guys!

We went there today with couple of friends from overseas. We were served by a lovely gentleman, very professional service. The food that we ordered consisted of fish dinners, coming with fresh servings of mushy peas and tasteful curry sauce. The main dishes were cooked to order, hot and delicious. The interior of restaurant is nothing short of immaculate, they really take cleanliness seriously. Complements to the Chef!

It was really nice, my mom and i love it. Today I ate chips and chicken with tartare sauce and gravy, few days ago we ate fish and chips, they have a little bit bigger portions for a normal portion so you can get full easily, you must come here with a hungry stomach😁.The workers are friendly and cute. To me this place is underrated, Im extremely recommending this place for everyone, the meals also delicious.

We have eaten Fish and Chips and we liked it very much. They prepare it for you at the moment and it is very crispy. Although we ordered the small size, the hake fillet was quite large and the entire bottom part was fries. The place is small but people don't take too long to eat and while they prepare it there is a free table. Highly recommended

Best fish n chips had for years

Was walked the center area and really wanted some fish and chops. JOHNNY English is a proper chipper! Food was delicious, large portions and 100% authentic. Whenever I come back, I will most certainly come here again.

They trick you in pricing! They tricked and made to pay 10 pounds for ordering a regular one which should be at 8 pounds. Asked for cancellation for the food they did not even accept.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips big portions the fish was amazing and big the batter wounderful and crispy, I only had half and I was full I ask then to wrap the rest up then I went outside and gave the rest to this nice man living in a tent I dont like to waste food. Fui allí un miércoles por la noche, como mi segunda visita. En primer lugar, el interior de las instalaciones es nada menos que impecable - las mesas están limpias, el suelo barrido y ciclomotor. La persona que me sirve era educado y servicial, ya que pedí la cena tradicional de pescado con guisantes y curry, decorado con una rodaja de limón jugoso. El plato estaba recién cocinado por encargo, que solo tomó unos 5 - 6 minutos. El pescado estaba crujiente en masa y tierno por dentro. También se cocinaron papas fritas a partir de papas frescas, lo que - de nuevo - me sorprendió. Recomiendo encarecidamente pasar por este restaurante, ya que nunca te decepcionaría! Gran experiencia tradicional!

Given their fortunate location, this establishment obviously benefits from a strong footfall of customers and therefore doesn’t feel the need to make much of an effort. Frozen chips are an early indication that the quality of food won’t match up to the price being charged

I went In here last Sunday dinner time, I got a large Cod with chips curry sauce and a can of coke for £12.70. It was absolutely amazing, If you are ever In Liverpool you would have too try this place, because you will return again like I have done In the past. Liverpool FC Lancaster Bomber.

I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting too much from a chippy in the heart of the shopping area of Liverpool, but we were pleasantly surprised. Portion size was great. They were made fresh so we had to wait a few minutes (we had a pint in the meantime), but it wasn’t busy as it was mid afternoon. Delicious chips, good size fish too. We ordered the large and we were plenty stuffed afterwards.

Fish was very delicious! I tried fish&chips in london, but it was not as good as I expected. Fish in this restaurant taught me that fish&chip was delicious food.

2 Years later and the fish and chips are still the best I've tried in Liverpool. Scampi is really juicy too! Portion sizes are just right, you get your moneys worth and the flavour cannot be beat!

Honestly not great. Frying too greasy, fries not cooked enough, the fish is good but the rest is not. The sauces are extra so the dish is very dry in the end.

Came in before the crowds and got a small order of fish and chips. It was still a full meal (I’m 5’9” and 190lbs). Was able to put as much vinegar and salt on my food as my heart desired. Got the curry on the side and it was the best I’ve had in my travels to the UK. Highly recommend. Great value as well. Ate it too fast to snap a pic :(

We did a takeaway from here, the fish and chips meal deal was good value. For £10.50 you got large fish and chips, peas and curry sauce. The quality of the food was very good ans tasted yum.

Dear Mr. English, Let me just start off by saying that your fish and chips are utterly amazing. The fish was perfectly fried to an internal temperature of 62.778 degrees celsius (I brought my own digital thermometer, which gets brought to every eating establishment that I visit). This internal temperature is considered the ideal way to prepare deep fried fish. It was so good in fact that it brought me right back to my childhood where my late father would cook cod for me and my 13 brothers on Sundays. 10 minutes into my meal I really thought that I was my 14 year old self again and that the chef was my father, due to the fish being so similar to my father’s recipe. I became so obsessed with the idea of the chef being my father that I climbed the counter to give him a hug he became uneasy and tried to punch me, not to worry though because my actual father used to do the same. Once the chef calmed down, I finally hugged him and then returned to my meal. Once I returned to finish my meal, I came to the realisation that there were 4 priests sat at the table with me. This caused me serious confusion as I was already in a delirious state. I then began to believe that i wasn’t myself and that I was actually a Bishop called Pious. I began to take confessions from all of the costumers in the chip shop telling them that I was the true Messiah. This has resulted in thousands of people following in my every footstep ever since my visit. My number of followers grow exponentially as each day passes. I owe everything to you Mr. English and I will surely return for more fish and chips. Many thanks, Lord Pious.
