We had the wood fired pizza's and they were amazing. Honestly its the nicest pizza I've had in a very long time! The staff were lovely and the beer was great. It's really nice to finally have something of quality in March!

Fabulous sando, a fresh flatbread which you are able to choose 4 fillings, a sauce and then it's heated in the pizza oven. It took time to get to us but was so worth the wait. Fresh tasting fillings and delicious bread. Really generous loaded fries aswell. Decor of the pub is fresh, modern, welcoming and comfortable. Just what March needs.

Visually, the pub is a striking departure from its previous incarnation, with a decor that is as bold and unique as the menu. The pub is dog-friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a casual night out or a relaxed gathering with friends. There’s a great selection of (handcrafted) cocktails, wines, and beers, catering to all tastes. Highly recommend the honey drizzled pizza and wishing the team every success in their endeavours. See you soon!

Used to frequent the Acre years ago and it has of course changed over time. The current pub is more food orientated and they do it well.A good selection of food properly cooked.Had a few evening meals and sunday lunch over the last week or two and cannot fault anything.Give it a try.I did and was pleasantly surprised.Large outside seating garden popular with dog owners may be of interest to some.

Comfy family and dog friendly pub in central March. The vegan veggie burger I had was delicious & after having that with chunky chips + a nice side salad, plus a nice pint of Guinness, couldn't have had a desert tbh. Quiet when I was on for a Friday, but none the worse for it. Be lovely on a sunnier day to have a bite to eat al fresco.

Refused service as the kitchen had just closed by minutes! It would help if their phone number was correct on the web - I had tried to call and spoke to a very nice old lady, who was definitely not The Acres. I ordered 2 drinks, and asked the server if the phone number was correct. She didn't know the number! Upon checking, we were a digit out but the number was the one from the web. I then asked if they were still a Greene King - a woman emerged and had heard my question - 'we're part of Greene King but I'm the proprietor'. Had I checked the website - FB - obvious eh?! Altogether her attitude stank - if she were an employee I could semi-understand as it's not uncommon to get the 'I don't give a stuff' attitude, but as proprietor I was somewhat shocked. At one point she was talking to her 2 servers. turned to me and to told me 'I'm in the kitchen', and turned away. In other words bugger off!. I wasn't even being pushy - merely a customer wanting a bit of service with a coupe of questions. This place has changed hand several times, been closed and has now re-opened. For us it WAS a nice place to end our dog walk. If she wishes to build a business I strongly recommend some customer service training. SHAME - the Griffen and Seven Stars will get our business. We only had a drink - she missed out on a lunch order due to her inflexibility. Build a business? - good luck! We won't be part of your customer base.

We found this place by accident….away from the busy town road beside the river , but still very close to town centre. So clean and modern with lots of outdoor seating in lovely enclosed garden. Inside was modern and welcoming with lots of comfortable seating and the food was lovely. My fish goujons came with salad and chips and my husband had pate with red onion chutney and bread. We didn’t have a dessert because we were full! Best of all dogs are welcome inside and out so we will be definitely going back especially if they start doing Sunday lunch ….loved it.

Went in there about 2:20 on Friday 8. There was a woman in front of me and asked if she could take a menu to which she was told yes. Anyway I got some drinks and also took a menu. Around 10 minutes later I went to the bar to order some food. While waiting the woman who was in front of me earlier also came up to order. When the barmaid came up and I asked to order some food. I was told They had stopped doing food. Why couldn’t they have said something when we took the menu? Just to add to it a few minutes later a member of staff came out with some food for themselves.

Looking for something different on our visit to March, quick look at Tripavisor and read some very useful reviews. Decided to give The Acre ago, tucked away behind the main drag next to the river. A warm welcome met use as with entered. Sat outside with our menus and found many interesting and varied choices. Two vegetarian meals and a lamb curry later very contented. Staff were great, atmosphere welcoming and very light and clean. Our first of many visits to come. Give it a try, it'll be worth it.

Needs to get consistency with delivery. Ordered tempura prawns, unavailable, as was the lobster Thermidor. Have to say the team redeemed themselves with the risotto and Goulash, but disappointed me before with a starter of three small chipolatas and micro slices of apples chargrilled for £6.95 pricing like that’ll kill you as a business. Put some salad on the plate and more chipolatas. The service staff were helpful, a bit inexperienced, but attentive. Great location next to the canal, cut off from the high street, access through from the canal path, or a very narrow alley, so kerb side appeal is only notice from the canal side, we visited mid winter, but would see a great time being had from canal boats mooring up at night in summer. Back to food, the puds menu frankly, is boring, that said, the ice cream is stunning. We tested their ability to do calypso and Irish coffees, their lack of knowledge in their ability to make them was more than made up for in their desire to say yes and try to make it happen. It’s amazing what a smile can do. The outcome can be improved. Other Observations are: the acoustics need fixing, get hangings from the ceilings. Have a serious look at the menu please. It’s too short, mundane and a tad confused, or stay as a cocktail bar and stop serving food.

Easily the loveliest looking pub in March & the food was great, but the staff were extremely unwelcoming and covid precautions severely lacking. We had booked a table outside for lunch. As there was no-one at the door to welcome us or ask if we’d booked, we had to queue at the bar to find out where our table was. The queue ran all the way through the restaurant, within inches of other people eating. When we finally got shown to our table, the waitress said she’d be back shortly to take our order. 10 minutes later she re-appeared to say that she was sorry, but as we were sitting outside we’d need to line up at bar again to order. Why on earth the staff weren’t able to walk the extra metre to take the order of a table outside, which would’ve been safer for everyone, is not clear.Anyway, the food arrived 45 minutes later (by which time half of us were back in the queue for the third time waiting for another round of drinks) and it was delicious, but I thought the recommendation was to minimise the amount of time spent at the bar / in close proximity to other people rather than encourage it.They were also very reluctant to swap the watered-down beer they’d poured us instead of a shandy for an actual shandy, despite agreeing that it ‘didn’t look right’. Again, yet more unnecessary queuing! Hopefully we just caught them on a bad day.

Im a big fan of the family run Cafe D'licious as a stop off point for breakfast. Great consistent quality food. Lovely service. I recommend. It is also on the national sustrans route through Wisbech and makes a conveniant stop off point from where travellers could enjoy a bite to eat and explore Wisbech's vibrant history (Thomas Clarkson Memorial, Wisbech Museum, Octavia Hill Museum, and Peckover House).

If you want good pub grub then The food in this place is better than anywhere in the local area! A month ago my wife and I decided to try the food after the pub changing hands. We had the burgers 🍔 and the dirty fries 🍟 we have been residents of Coates village for 30 years and both grew up in Whittlesey. What you get here is the only thing within 40 miles that would rival anything decent burger and fries from London (I mean, American style)! I’ve severed some hi end establishments over my time with meat as I was a butchery manager that worked for jimmy Doherty (Jamie Oliver’s mate) for a number of years and I’m ecstatic that I have this 200m up the road! The service was spot too!! Hats off too chef at the vine!! This guy know what he is doing 🎩👍🍔🍟

Went with family and friends. Sunday roast was decent, lovely lamb, beef and chicken. Massive Yorkshire’s with loads of gravy with more offered. Scent roast potatoes which is always good at a pub and decent fresh cooked veg. Even the Brussels sprouts were good which was excellent. Staff generally very friendly, manageress seemed faulty stern but clearly runs a tight ship. Prices competitive. Difference between this and 5 stars is nothing to do with food and service. Down to fact that if you have a baby or toddler the changing facilities are less than basic! Something they really could do with sorting.
