If you want good pub grub then The food in this place is better than anywhere in the local area! A month ago my wife and I decided to try the food after the pub changing hands. We had the burgers 🍔 and the dirty fries 🍟 we have been residents of Coates village for 30 years and both grew up in Whittlesey. What you get here is the only thing within 40 miles that would rival anything decent burger and fries from London (I mean, American style)! I’ve severed some hi end establishments over my time with meat as I was a butchery manager that worked for jimmy Doherty (Jamie Oliver’s mate) for a number of years and I’m ecstatic that I have this 200m up the road! The service was spot too!! Hats off too chef at the vine!! This guy know what he is doing 🎩👍🍔🍟

Decided to try the Sunday roast. The waitress was friendly enough but the food was a big disappointment. Pretty much all of the beef was tough gristle and inedible. Yes I know I should have complained at the time, especially when the bill came to £15 just for one meal and no extras! But I got a feeling that it was the kind of place that might take umbrage at complaints and bring you back some "tampered with" replacement. It's perfectly obvious when carving meat what the quality is like and totally unacceptable to serve beef which is that bad. That's seriously uncool service. Hopefully the pub will take heed of these comments and up their game.

Very welcoming pub, always looking to improve customer requirements with a strong community feel, but always welcoming to newcomers. They have a very good charity record as management, staff and customers always pull together for good causes. Usually comes top in British Legion Poppy Appeal for the whole area, and proudly undertakes the upkeep of the village War Memorial.

I regularly have Sunday roast takeaway from here before lockdown, it's just as good during lockdown. Just had fish and chips today and this was also to the same high standard, very pleased. Looking forward to trying English breakfast takeaway tomorrow. Absolutely well worth a visit especially when lockdown ends. Very warm pleasant atmosphere with a friendly group of locals and banter

A good locals pub which has a very active petanque team and rinks available to play on. Choice of real ales and extensive beer garden.

Great Sunday Lunch. Plenty of local veg. Meat tender and succulent. 2 or 3 course options for a really good price. Small intimate dining room. Very homely.

We were on a walk Sunday 20th March and didn't want a restaurant meal. In the bar we each had a magnificently generous burger type roll. Mine was stuffed with roast beef and horseradish, my husband chose the roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce. Accompanied by a choice from 3 real ales this made a great snack. Unusual these days when most pubs only serve the full Sunday lunch. Staff and customers welcoming.

We had lunch here whilst in the area looking at a house. The food was perfectly adequate without being in any way exceptional. I think this pub would suit best large functions and probably Sunday lunch crowd. Staff very friendly and helpful

Lively pub, good to go and watch football. Always very busy. I had a burger in there and it was ok but came with a mass of frozen chips (they had been cooked but you know what I mean). Shame because it's th nearest pub to my house & so easy to walk to. I will probably give it another try.

Went with family and friends. Sunday roast was decent, lovely lamb, beef and chicken. Massive Yorkshire’s with loads of gravy with more offered. Scent roast potatoes which is always good at a pub and decent fresh cooked veg. Even the Brussels sprouts were good which was excellent. Staff generally very friendly, manageress seemed faulty stern but clearly runs a tight ship. Prices competitive. Difference between this and 5 stars is nothing to do with food and service. Down to fact that if you have a baby or toddler the changing facilities are less than basic! Something they really could do with sorting.

Im a big fan of the family run Cafe D'licious as a stop off point for breakfast. Great consistent quality food. Lovely service. I recommend. It is also on the national sustrans route through Wisbech and makes a conveniant stop off point from where travellers could enjoy a bite to eat and explore Wisbech's vibrant history (Thomas Clarkson Memorial, Wisbech Museum, Octavia Hill Museum, and Peckover House).
