We went to Wetherby today for a ride. It was our first visit, we were pleasantly surprised. We were looking for a cafe & saw Pomfrets down a lovely side street with beautiful hanging baskets & planters. We only wanted a drink , but the scones looked so tempting my husband had a pear & honeycomb scone. The lady that took our order I think it was Anna was lovely, friendly & complimentary. All of the staff were friendly & happy 😊 We will definitely return, when I’m not on a diet 🤭🤤😋

Met with friends today who go regularly but a first visit for me and was amazing. Very busy but got a table outside in the sunshine and staff were very helpful despite how busy it was. My friends had beautiful sandwiches but I chose a scone and so glad I did as can honestly say the best scone ever, plum and blackcurrant. I even bought two to take home so can savour again. Will definitely be back

Such a friendly welcome and fantastic lunch. Best scones we have ever eaten! Blackberry and pear scone or raspberry and honeycomb scone- how is someone to choose? Delicious hot beef sandwiches and coffee.

Wow, fantastic location down a little side street, tables outside in the sunshine gave it a European feel. Very popular with people queuing for a seat, but well worth the wait. Even though it was busy the waiting staff were extremely efficient and stayed calm and very polite. We ordered off the breakfast menu and the food did not disappoint, great quality and good portions - scrambled egg was excellent and the latte was best I’ve enjoyed for a long time - thank you and well done - highly recommend

We love this cafe and visit it every time we come to Wetherby! We had a little wait for a table as they were busy but it was worth it! My sausage sandwich was lovely and my boyfriend’s campsite breakfast was cooked perfectly and he is fussy with his English breakfast!! Had to finish it off with my grandma’s favourite homemade skinny tinker scone with jam and cream which as always was delicious! Whenever she visits yorkshire pomfrets is always the first place she goes! Great service with a smile as always even though they were so busy. We’ll be back again soon 🥰

Went with a good friend for lunch. The extremely friendly staff were well informed and explained we’d have to wait 5-10 mins for our table. Once sat down they were very attentive and recommended dishes. We both had soup which was stunning BUT the fruit scones were just amazing. Can’t wait to come back. Try the mushroom soup….soooo good

We were shown to our seats. Another couple came in who were served before us. Then a walk in requested take a way and she served them too! After 10 mins we walked out, still our order had not been taken. So very disappointed.. Such a shame as I had not been for quite some time and it had always been lovely with very nice food. Shame we never managed to sample any.

I cannot rate this cafe highly enough! The staff, the service and the food are top notch. I have never had a bad meal and I’ve recommended Pomfrets to a number of friends. The food is brilliant and so tasty… and the homemade baking, especially the scones are absolutely delicious! It’s definitely our go to cafe in Wetherby 👏🤩

Thank goodness Pomfrets is open again. Had lunch sitting outside in the sun, very pleasant. The owner Sam, was her usual attentive self. I tried the crab in gluten free bread with their chunky chips and coffee - what’s not to like. So good ...

It’s so nice to be able to sit and have coffee and cake or whatever takes your fancy now that some restrictions have been lifted .Every care is taken in making their customers feel safe and happy .The food and service is always great .Well done this pomfrets team .

Debo decir, en primer lugar, que el personal de la recepción estuvo atento a los clientes que esperaban para sentarse y estaban tomando todas las precauciones necesarias durante esta pandemia (aunque ahora no estoy seguro si llevaban máscaras o desinfectar el lector de tarjetas entre usos), por lo que los recomiendo. El ambiente en la zona de asientos al aire libre también era pintoresco, incluso si no terminamos sentados allí.Pedimos dos de los sándwiches de cangrejo y mayonesa de lima, que estaban poco condimentados y no tenían ningún toque de lima, lo cual fue decepcionante pero no horrible. This is a lovely cafe in Wetherby. I had the ham, eggs and Chips which were excellent, the ham was thick and the portion a good size. The chips were ever so slightly dry but overall an excellent meal. The place is spotless too.

Delicious scone with cream and jam, lovely crab and prawn sandwich, pot of tea served with hot water - love that!! Great value with perfect service!

Paseando por Wetherby en una tarde encantadora, vimos una mesa vacía fuera de Pomfret's y decidimos instantáneamente aprovechar el momento y tomar un té y bollos.Lo primero que hay que mencionar es que las personas que dirigen este encantador café han hecho un trabajo excelente al crear una distancia segura entre las mesas y, con un estricto cumplimiento de las políticas de asientos y limpieza, nos sentimos relajados y seguros.El servicio fue amable y muy eficiente y los bollos para acompañar nuestro té y café eran absolutamente de primera. Qué manera más agradable de pasar media hora más o menos.Muy recomendable.

Visité nuestro café favorito de Wetherby el martes 4 de agosto de 2020 con mi madre. ¡Acabamos de tomar un café con leche caliente grande y un bollo de ruibarbo, cada uno que está delicioso! Alta calidad habitual en Pomfrets y con la increíble oferta a mitad de precio de agosto, era muy barato a las 5. 85 para los dos! ! Gran Café! .

Brilliant that Pomfrets has survived the lockdown and re-opened. Phil and Sam deserve medals for the superb job they have done to comply with the Covid-19 distancing and safety rules. Safely spaced tables inside and lots of outside tables including several under the awning. The coffee and cakes are still as good as ever and it’s great to be back enjoying their outstanding service and hospitality.

Food was all lovely, it is on the pricey side but I'm happy with that given the quality of the food. We enjoyed our food very much. Staff all really lovely too Constructive criticism, is the upstairs toilet, it really could do with a decorate and good tidy. Also a fold-out baby changing unit would be good, after a c-section having to change a baby on the floor isnt ideal

Visited Wetherby on the journey home for a little shopping and lunch. The four of us just happened across Pomfrets. What a delight. Fantastic service. The cafe was busy and all tables were quickly serviced and filled to maximise covers. My friends had homemade soup and I had an open crab and prawn sandwich. Gluten free options available and decaf. The service was exemplary, the food quickly prepared and well presented. Soup piping hot! I would highly recommend.

Had a great lunch today with 2 friends. Hot beef sandwich excellent and my friends also enjoyed their choice, one from the special board and another from the main menu. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Great value for money.

This is Wetherby’s best little cafe with lovely owners and staff. I can guarantee you a warm welcome, great coffee and home made food.

Called in at Pomfrets for a quick bite of lunch and we were greeted by the most friendliest of staff. The place was buzzing with customers coming and going but you didn't have to wait long before being served. The 'Specials' board was a delight!The food was quickly and promptly served and was sooo tasty!Nice atmosphere too! Well worth finding!

Another amazing visit to Pomfret a place I have visit when in weatherby. A place where I call the staff friends. A place that has got me though the last nine months of treatment. A place were you are met with a smile and a hug and feel at home to enjoy the fantastic food and coffee. Finding Pete the elf has been amazing to, our children have really enjoyed looking for him and I have found many new shops that I had not seen before which is great for promoting the local businesses. We were three friends scattered across the country and we wanted somewhere central to meet up for lunch and a long awaited catch up. We decided on Wetherby and based on reviews opted to go to Pomfret’s. We were so glad we did. On a cold wet day we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome. We went upstairs as the downstairs area was full always a good sign. We had tried to book a table however they’re unable to take bookings. Having perused the menu we opted for crab and prawn sandwiches and avocado and egg on toast washed down with some hot coffees, all of which were delicious. We followed that down with strawberry & chocolate and blackberry & pear scones which again were delicious. We had a long catch up and didn’t feel pressured to leave our table. Lovely staff delivering lovely food. We will return when we meet up again. Also a short walk from the Riverside car park which is free!

We visited here for tea and cake. Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. We only had tea and scone, which were both very good, but the meals also looked very tempting.

What could be better after swimming on a Saturday morning but a trip to Pomfret for cake and Bacon sandwiches. For those who don't understand the pride that the staff put into all that is made in the kitchen and the decorative topping of the Fabulous drinks the side garnish of salad with the bacon sandwich and the biscuits with the coffee.the standards are always high. Always a must in weatherby.

This is my go to place in Wetherby,today I was treated to lunch by my husband.The homemade soups and breads are delicious and the poached eggs perfect (wish I could do them like that ) ,as always the staff are friendly and efficient.

On a wet November day, what better than a lovely bowl of homemade soup served in a welcoming, friendly cafe. Despite the cafe being busy, the staff were efficient. A choice of homemade soups served with gorgeous a homemade bread selection was just what we needed. Will definitely call here again.

Always good food and a lovely friendly welcome and customer service! The owner / manager always says hi and makes you feel completely at home. Abbey served us and was very friendly and pleasant too !

Come here regularly and have always enjoyed it but the last couple of times the breakfast has been disappointing. My poached eggs on toast were basically hard boiled egg on toast. Also is there any need for salad and dressing on the side of a bacon sandwich. Lunches yes breakfast no. The staff are lovely but spend a lot of time dashing across to the shop across the way often at the expense of the service. One family were waiting outside to order for quite a while whilst the waitress went across to the clothes shop. The scones are to die for however so will be back for those not the breakfast.

As always friendly, polite and welcoming. Nothing better than a great BLT. Unless it is the one here at pomfrets with the great atmosphere. Would highly recommend the breakfasts too. I wont be changing spots anytime soon for my breakfast. Keep up the great work.

On our visit to Wetherby the Grandchildren needed a feed, first time for Pomfret’s what a friendly and obliging Cafe

Fine independent place. Very busy on a weekday lunchtime. Food all fresh and tasty. Obvious pride from all staff in their work. Didn’t have cake but it all looked great. Next visit to Wetherby the obvious place to visit.

Arrived at 1628pm ( 2 mins b4 they closed) to be met yet again with a extremely warm welcome and a hug. Love this place should win awards for customer service and the quality of the food and cakes. Could not have got though the last several months without their iced lattes and fruit toast.Sam and her team are more like family now. Can't wait till the next visit.

I regularly call in here for coffee,this morning decided to have breakfast,full English and it was absolutely delicious,the cakes looked delicious so thought I would take some home for my husband,had the Victoria sponge and it certainly lived up to expectations. The Pomfrets team ,well done .

This is a lovely coffee shop with attentive and friendly staff. They have imaginative scones e.g. orange and plum and rhubarb whic are the most delicious I have ever tasted.

I often visit Sam and her team at Pomfrets. I just haven’t written a review for several months. I just love their GF carrot cake with a carafe of coffee. I had an extra treat recently and had a side of their hand cut chips - what a little treat.

Just stopped for breakfast having stumbled accidentally on this establishment. Service quiet but polite and professional. Food - outstanding with seemingly only the highest quality products used. A delightful experience and highly recommended.

Called in here to get some lunch,they were very busy and we were told the hot food would be a 20 minute wait,we got our drinks and chatted while we waited . My husband had poached eggs and I had the smoked salmon and crab salad,absolutely delicious,the service as usual was very good ,well done The pomfrets team .

Went to Promfrets for an afternoon tea and it was delicious. The surroundings are comfortable and relaxing. We didn’t feel rushed and the staff were lovely; very professional and customer driven. Sam the owner was very welcoming and made every effort to ensure we had a pleasant experience. There was a good selection of fruit tea as well as traditional tea and the cherry bakewell homemade scones were amazing!

Neither good nor bad simply nothing much about the food or the service stands out and it's a pity that for a town centre cafe they seem to stop the full service mid afternoon ie 90% of the menu is not available from fairly early on. They really ought to put a big sign outside to warn customers who might have a reasonable expectation that they might have a wider choice then they are actually going to get. Would we go again ? Well possibly but only after checking out the competition first because there is a lot of it in Wetherby.

We had amazing service at Pomfret’s yesterday. They were very busy, a good sign, and we found a table for 2 outside. We would have preferred to be inside. The lady came and said there was a table available inside which she has saved for us. Then she said the food would take about 30 minutes. We said tgat’s Ok and ordered tea and coffee. She came back 2x more to apologise for the eekayabd was mist appreciative that we were comfortable with this. The food Egg Benedict was delicious and we had a 2nd tea and coffee on the house. Amazing

Absolutely love this cafe. My husband and I regularly walk to Wetherby from Collingham, along the river with our Spaniel. As soon as we arrive we make a visit to Pomfrets. The time dictates what we eat but we have been coming here for several years and have tried breakfasts, lunches, cakes (lots!) and coffees. The tea, by the way, is as good a cuppa as you’ll get anywhere. Food is always excellent, service is brilliant and the staff and owner are exceptionally friendly. Cannot find a bad word to say!

I visit this cafe every few months and always wonder why I don’t go more often. The food is really fresh an delicious tasty, and there’s always a few specials in addition to the regular menu. I’ve had their breakfast and lunches and everything has been delicious. The staff work really hard because this is a popular place but you are never rushed. Would highly recommend.

Pomfret's is quite simply the best cafe in Wetherby. The food is wonderful and all freshly made and beautifully presented (Instagram anyone?). I love that the cafe is so welcoming for dogs (downstairs and outside), making it the perfect place to take the dogs for a walk, have a late breakfast or afternoon tea and then meander home.

Went with my husband today I had a lovely Gluten free bacon sandwich, (nice soft bread ) lovely done bacon with salad on side, and got soya milk for my tea, very pleasant staff if I lived here it would be my regular place to go 5 star

This lovely little gem of a coffee house in the heart of wetherby is a real treat. Not only do they except dogs but you are offered amazing coffee and cakes as well as a menu to please most looking for a tasty bit of lunch. The atmosphere in pomfrets is super and the dogs loved a treat . The staff are always attentive and hygiene levels in my opinion are high. Love this place

I went to Wetherby today with my dog. We went for a walk by the river and ended up in Wetherby and I fancied something to eat and drink. I came upon Pomfrets of Wetherby and noticed they had tables outside so would be perfect for me. I also learnt that they are dog friendly downstairs too which makes a lovely change because not everywhere is. Well I looked a the menu and couldn't decide from all the tasty things, plus a specials board and delicious looking homemade cakes and scones. I had a cappuccino which was hot tasted lovely. So many places you go to and the coffee is tepid, well this wasn't which was good. I opted for the eggs benedict which was lovely, followed by a homemade rhubarb and apple scone with clotted cream and jam. Wow..... It was delicious, I enjoyed it so much I bought a peach melba one to take home. The management were really nice with welcoming staff who were attendative and friendly to me and my dog was given some dog biscuits too. It made such a refreshing change to be made so welcome and will definitely be back to try more off the menu. I would recommend anyone going to Wetherby to pay a visit.

He estado muchas veces y siempre he disfrutado de la comida, sin embargo, hoy fui y vi a la camarera alimentando a un perro y luego no me lavé las manos en mi opinión totalmente inapropiadas y nunca volvería de nuevo.

Llegué esta mañana para desayunar con mi hijo. Decidí comer salmón con huevos en la bolsa y mi hijo tenía huevos revueltos con tostadas.

Enjoyed our visit today, with our dog. There were 3 well behaved dogs including ours. Staff asked if it was ok to give our dog a treat. There was a bowl of water for dogs by the door. Varied menu and an interesting variety of coffees and teas. It was very busy, some customers were asked politely to wait by the door for a suitable table to become available.

This is one of our local cafes. There is a selection of gluten free food but the GF carrot cake, slightly warm, is delicious. The staff are very friendly. Throughly recommended.

We go to this cafe at least three times a week , it’s our favourite.The staff are helpful and very friendly,the coffee is the best in Wetherby and the food is delicious.They do get busy and you may have to wait a while ,but it’s worth the wait and it shows how popular this place is.

Whether I’m upstairs or downstairs I always have a great time here and have wonderful food and superb service.

Yes it’s busy but what’s exceptionally refreshing is staff done give those waiting unrealistic times for a table to be free and those at the tables are NEVER rushed. Beautifully refreshing customer service setting realistic expectations for their valued customers. Worth the wait for a table. There is a reason there is a wait for a table! The service is super and the food wonderful! Well done to a cracking team !

As a Wetherby resident I was keen to take two members of family visiting today for lunch. There is downstairs and upstairs seating, on going in to the cafe downstairs was obviously full so we hesitated and were approached by a waitress.

Called in for a coffee and full breakfast, very nice and served quickly by excellent staff, highly recommended!

Like many other latte and flat white lovers I find the normal temperature of the drink is not hot enough so I always request 'extra hot' and I'm delighted to say that Amy, the five star barista at Pomfrets, knows what extra hot means - and she still manages to produce a nice pattern in the froth. This isn't the only thing that's good about Pomfrets. Their cakes are superb and the quality and taste of their meals are excellent too. Add this to the impressive comfort and ambience and you have an outstanding establishment which provides lots of enjoyment to its customers.

Having never been here before I was more than happy to try it especially after reading the recent reviews.

was exploring Wetherby whilst visiting family and we popped in here for a coffee! I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob and I was not disappointed in the slightest!! will be returning and making sure my family become regulars

Cosy cafe with good atmosphere and also seating upstairs. Staff very friendly and quick service. Great wholesome food. We had the home made soup which was delicious.

I wandered around the town looking for somewhere to have lunch and I'm very glad I found this place. Really tasty food, speedy service and friendly staff. Not a lot more you could ask to be honest!

We visit Wetherby every week and have called for a light lunch at Pomfrets since they opened five years ago. There is always a good choice on the menu, should you be wanting breakfast, sandwiches a light lunch or drinks with delicious home made cakes and scones. The food is well presented and very tasty, the service has always been of high quality with very friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes the cafe is very busy and there may be a waiting time for food, should that be the case we have always been informed and felt it worth the wait. Congratulations to Sam and the team for a great first five years.

Rather than going to the Whaler we thought we'd try somewhere different for a change so opted for Pomfret's - it was busy always a good sign. We sat down and waited ... and waited. After ca 10 minutes a waitress came to take our order - pretty simple a roast beef sandwich and a home cooked ham sandwich with a pot of tea for 2 please. The pot of tea came swiftly not so the sandwiches. After 2 inquiries and a wait of 45 minutes the sandwiches arrived - long after the pot of tea had been drained to the last drop. They were very nice sandwiches indeed but a wait of 45 minutes? Once we'd been served we overheard the waitress inform customers that there was await of 50 minutes for hot food - perhaps it would have been more accurate to say any food. Would we go back - possibly - if they're not busy.

We arrived in Wetherby after a frustrating time finding parking and were gagging for a drink and a bite.

Such a lovely cafe. First choice for lunch or a coffee in Wetherby. The food is excellent (all homemade) and the scones are the best you’ll get.

Have visited this cafe several times for coffee and cake. I like it because you can still get a cafetière of coffee. They do have a coffee machine, but I much prefer my coffee in a cafetière. The cakes are excellent and quite large portions so we always share one. I have not tried it for lunch but intend to when next in Wetherby.
