The food was great, myself, my partner and our little girl had a Sunday lunch there. The portion sizes were great and even the little one couldn't manage the kids portion. Averagely priced for the area. Only knocked a star off the atmosphere as it was more like an old man's pub than a family friendly pub. Was nice overall.

Sunday roast was ok but not the biggest. Wouldn’t rush back.

Local when visiting from Midlands. Friendly staff.

Very well patronised public house on the Monday night, probably 95% of customers are there to take part in a 4 round quiz. The format begins with a picture quiz, then Bingo at £1.00 per card. Thereafter, it's a general knowledge round that alternates every other week with a music quiz. The last game is a version of cards whose aim is to be the first to get rid of 13 cards corresponding with those called out by the quiz master. There's a good choice of ales and lagers with a zero ABV option of bottled beers that are constantly being changed. If you enjoy quizzing this pub is one for you.

I hadn't eaten here before but was very impressed and will be going back again.

Monday night pub quiz, with Steve the quiz master is fantastic. Highly recommended. It's great fun, Steve is the perfect quizmaster and the pub is very welcoming, warm and the other quizzers are really nice.

we visted on the 1st of December for christmas dinner with a large group of adults with learning difficulties, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING service,staff and food were all spot on we will have now booked our staff christmas party here 100% recommend

Great pub. Never eaten there but been in numerous times for drinks over the years. Great choice of beers, loved the Black Sheep guest ale I had at the weekend. Staff are always helpful and the jukebox is epic

I bobbed in here for a couple of beers, of which they had a good selection. The staff were lovely, and the seating outside is a lovely suntrap.

Been today for Sunday lunch, lovely warm welcome, nice clean pub, Sunday lunch was perfect, proper mashed potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puddings, ( My ole man likes his first on a separate plate with gravy, said request no trouble at all) roast beef cooked to perfection, And to top it off my ole man said its a good pint of John Smith's, reasonably priced, will definitely return, Thank you

Very unwelcoming. Doesn't state on website that on a Sunday its only Sunday lunch no other menu options. Asked bar staff where to sit for food she said 'up there I think' !? How do staff not know!? Cigarette butt's litter the front of the pub. Definitely a drinkers pub rather than a family meal type of place.

Nice set up but over priced you would think it was a city center pub. Not a village pub. Prices were very high.

Used to be my 'local' and has seen some changes over time. Still a vibrant, community pub that holds many memories and will continue to do so. Would recommend to anyone, always a warm welcome and I believe they do food now.

Afternoon tea was gorgeous, mixture of savoury and sandwiches as there were 10 of us. Good deals on prosecco and cocktails. Very cheap and good quality food. Will be returning.

We visited on a lunch time, was going to visit The Unicorn after not being for many years but got there and it was closed so found this place on trip advisor. Had the nicest greeting by Lindsay, she's so bright and bubbly, the type of person who should be working in a customer facing role, definitely worth the wait. All fresh, good portions and of good quality. Will definitely visit again in the future.

Went for food today. Had the steak burger with chips. It was delicious! It came with huge homemade chips, onion rings and coleslaw. The burger was really lean and meaty. The pub is well set out with covid precautions. It's clean, well organised with a great traditional menu. The staff are excellent, really friendly and helpful I would highly recommend it

We recently booked for lunch via facebook. Mark booked us in and when he saw we were not local took the time to confirm that we had booked the right place and to let us know that there was also going to be a funeral wake and we would be seated away from then and did we mind. I thought this was excellent customer service. when we arrived all the staff were extremely friendly the food was good and arrived in good time Would not hesitate to visit if we are in the area again

Late decision to eat out and our first choice was full. However, luckily we phoned here and were booked in for a late sitting. Arrived at 1.30 as booked and shown to our table, all set up and well apart from others. Our drinks and menu came to the table, our order taken and food arrived on time. All the meals were very satisfactory, and served with a friendly smile. Even without the Eat out discount, prices were very good, about average for pub food.Recommended.

Lovely lunch today at the hare and hounds with family. Traditional pub grub, great quality, everything came with lovely fresh salad, a variety of menu choice. Staff were lovely, felt very welcome. Visited during COVID and felt very safe with table service, hand gel as soon as you go in/out etc.Definitely return

Our first visit to the Hare and Hounds, From Liverpool, visiting our son who lives locally. During the pandemic, good social distancing and cleansing routine. Mark and Tracey are very friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome. The service was good. Four of us had different meals and all were excellent. We would recommend eating here.

Lovely pint of Guinness £4.60 a bit expensive but the pub was empty
