Was here for post-funeral get-together. Nice atmosphere, comfortable surroundings. Staff friendly.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff and great food - went here yesterday as part of a large group booking (18 of us) and all of the food came out piping hot. I had the scampi which I'd definitely recommend! We'll be coming back again soon.

The best endorsement is that I am a frequent visitor the Hare. The welcome from Mark and Ashleigh is always warm and there is a genuine friendliness from the regulars. Whether it’s a cheese and pickle sandwich or something from the main menu the food is always well presented and of the highest quality. Well worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Called in for lunch with colleagues and absolutely amazing!! Mark and Ash and lovely and made us feel really welcome and at home! I had the chicken pie and both pie and the chips were just heaven! I love good, proper, home made pub food!!

Fantastic Pub! So welcoming to my dog and me. Great company, great food, great process. We were in every day at the end of our walks until I started my drinking break up to Christmas. Looking forward to going back afterward.

The food was great, myself, my partner and our little girl had a Sunday lunch there. The portion sizes were great and even the little one couldn't manage the kids portion. Averagely priced for the area. Only knocked a star off the atmosphere as it was more like an old man's pub than a family friendly pub. Was nice overall.

Very well patronised public house on the Monday night, probably 95% of customers are there to take part in a 4 round quiz. The format begins with a picture quiz, then Bingo at £1.00 per card. Thereafter, it's a general knowledge round that alternates every other week with a music quiz. The last game is a version of cards whose aim is to be the first to get rid of 13 cards corresponding with those called out by the quiz master. There's a good choice of ales and lagers with a zero ABV option of bottled beers that are constantly being changed. If you enjoy quizzing this pub is one for you.

I hadn't eaten here before but was very impressed and will be going back again.

This is a friendly, welcoming pub with attentive staff. Sunday’s visit was busy with families, couples, groups and locals all enjoying good food and drink, and a great atmosphere. If you’re looking for somewhere you can feel like part of the community, this is it.

This is a warm, welcoming customer focused business. Whenever I’ve been in it’s been consistently very good. The food is good, the atmosphere is lovely and everyone bends over backwards to look after you to make you welcome. This is our local pub, I could have selected every month available when asked “when did you go”, we spend that much time here! The pub is cosy, welcoming & clean. The staff are so friendly, warm & helpful. The food is unbelievable, home cooked, reasonably priced & always to a high standard, wether it be a cheese burger, a Sunday roast, or chicken in a basket. There is plenty of selection of both food & drinks. Not only is the food amazing, they have regular entertainment on over the weekend including themed charity nights, raising a lot of money for local charities. If you haven’t visited, you need to….it might become your weekly visited local too ☺️🍷🍻

Whenever we are in the area of Rothwell we always find time to visit the Hare & Hounds. Nowhere else will you find such a family friendly atmosphere. From the warm welcome that awaits as you enter to ordering food and drink, this place is second to none. The staff are very friendly yet professional. The food is local, where possible, of great quality and well presented. Speedy service at the bar with a fantastic selection of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks at great prices. What more can anyone want? We highly recommend The Hare & Hounds!

We called in on Sunday afternoon after a tiring weekend of mountain climbing. We were greeted by Ashleigh on our way in with a warm welcome. Mark came and joined us for a while and the atmosphere in the pub was perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Amazing Sunday dinners were brought out to diners who suddenly were too busy to be able to talk!! If there is a more welcoming pub in Leeds I’d be amazed.. 💙

Really welcoming atmosphere and reasonable prices. I don't get to come out often due to child care but I do notice from Facebook and walking past the community spirit of the pub, offers help and support to others, always joining in the town events etc

I've been coming to this pub for over a decade. I can honestly say I've never felt more welcome! There's always a cheerful smile from the staff who can never do enough for you. The drinks are always nice, you can tell that the beer lines are regularly cleaned. As for the food, its always a high standard, you'll never get a bad meal and always leave full. They regularly do different events and lots for the community. Its a fantastic pub, I think the below comment is talking about a different pub in a different town!

Monday night pub quiz, with Steve the quiz master is fantastic. Highly recommended. It's great fun, Steve is the perfect quizmaster and the pub is very welcoming, warm and the other quizzers are really nice.

Very unwelcoming. Doesn't state on website that on a Sunday its only Sunday lunch no other menu options. Asked bar staff where to sit for food she said 'up there I think' !? How do staff not know!? Cigarette butt's litter the front of the pub. Definitely a drinkers pub rather than a family meal type of place.

Nice set up but over priced you would think it was a city center pub. Not a village pub. Prices were very high.
