Lovely home cooked food....great wee spot, love the walled garden

First time in here, definitely coming back food was gorgeous 😍 💖 staff are friendly and very helpful beautiful outside garden area real sun trap 😀 loved the smashed avocado 🥑 and poached eggs it was all perfect 👌 if I could give a 10/10 I would .

We happened upon this by accident as it was torrential rain outside, and we went in for shelter. Quaint pub with Yorkshire stone floors and a decent selection of beers. Lovely atmosphere.

Friendly and the beer will kept. I always like Taylors and this was that really clean, fresh flavour when the pub takes that bit of extra care. We were watching the rugby but a mixed crowd and a convivial but not too noisy atmosphere. Only had samosas as bar snacks, but they were nice.

Lovely place, it was very busy but we luckily managed to get a table, the service was impeccable, and swift. Best hunters chicken I have had in a while and I will gladly go back again.

Sorry service was fab. Atmosphere is as ok but the food was terrible. Some sort of veg amalgamation of soup not fresh at all, frozen pieces of cardboard garlic bread, greasy chips very bad needs some effort put in and some fresh ingredients and it could be a great little pub.

Buena, honesta comida saludable Me siento obligado a escribir esta reseña por un par de razones, pero comenzaré con la primera... Recientemente, nos está resultando cada vez más difícil encontrar un pub que sirva buena y honesta comida saludable, afortunadamente The Whitakers Arms en Otley va contra la corriente y hace exactamente eso. Ingredientes recién cocinados cocinados con pasión y ganas de complacer. Mi esposa eligió pastel de carne con patatas fritas reales, brócoli y zanahorias con salsa. En sus propias palabras “gran pastelería casera llena de carne de buena calidad, de hecho, en cuanto a una comida de pub se encuentra allí con los mejores” elegí un dhaal de lentejas y espinacas picante con crema finamente rociada y rebanadas de pan Pitta. Normalmente no voy solo por un plato vegetal, pero estoy muy contento de haberlo hecho. La comida era exactamente lo que decía. Lentejas perfectamente cocidas, espinacas frescas y una salsa picante que era simplemente sublime. La porción de pan pitta complementó perfectamente el plato. Ambos sentimos al final de la comida que habíamos comido buena calidad, comida sana que nos dejó con una sensación de aprecio, cómodo. El personal detrás de la barra era amable y eficiente y nada era demasiado problema. Las bebidas que tomamos fueron una pinta de Bierre Moretti y Hobgoblin Gold que estaban limpios, frescos y fueron un placer. Sin duda recomendaría este pub ya sea para una bebida (o unos pocos 😁) o para una bebida y comida. Ahora por mi segunda razón y esto es para el propietario principalmente. Durante nuestra comida la mesa adyacente a nosotros tuvo un problema con una de sus comidas. La señora que tenía el problema con toda justicia no se quejó de inmediato, se las arregló para comer tres cuartas partes de la comida antes de ponerse de pie y marchar al bar con su plato casi vacío para exigir un reembolso. El propietario cumplió debidamente y una vez devuelto su plato a la cocina se acercó a su mesa con su reembolso. Él le informó si ella volvía a preguntar por él y él personalmente se asegurará de que ella esté bien cuidada. Sin embargo, su respuesta fue bastante grosera y desagradable, lo que fue vergonzoso para nosotros ser testigos y estoy seguro de que incómodo para sus 3 compañeros de comedor. El propietario manejó la situación perfectamente en nuestra opinión y si la señora en cuestión lee esto, por favor sea más respetuoso y amable con las personas que están haciendo todo lo posible para que su visita sea memorable. We called in last night for an early drink and a meal. The barman was very welcoming and made us feel wanted. We ordered drinks and set up a tab (because we were eating). We shared a starter and ordered a chicken burger and the steak and ale pie. Both mains came with delicious home made chips and the main features were really good. The pie came with peas and carrots and was served on the hottest plate possible. 2 pints of Bolt Maker and 2 large Cabernet Sauvignon brought the bill to just over £50, a real value for money find. Highly recommended.

Me and my kids popped in for lunch last week. Great place, delicious home made food ( big portions) and a very friendly barman. I recommend chicken burgers with extra cheese and bacon , 😋.

Whittaker Arms was a lovely warm and welcoming pub. The member staff that served us was really friendly and helpful. We ordered the homemade steak and ale pie with cheesy chips. The proportions of food were nicely balanced and were really tasty. Really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back when we are visiting Otley.

The most delectable food possible. I had the chicken burger with wedges. The chicken burger was crispy and succulent, lettuce and tomato fresh and the chips cooked to perfection. All very fresh and fairly priced food! 10/10 would come again.

The pubs under new management and the new landlord and staff are friendly and has introduced a new menu, the food was all home cooked, piping hot and good value for money will be coming here again

How he reason I given this 4 stars is that there are quite a lot of signs saying no vaping but there was a person sat at the bar all the time I was there and she was vaping. Lady behind the bar not taking the slight bit of notice. But saying that nice pub and I'll be back again.

Our table was close to the log burning stove so nice and warm, food was home cooked and sensibly priced. Had a good choice of real ales, lager and stouts to choose from. Food was served hot on a hot plate always a bonus on a winters day. Overall a great place for lunch and will definitely be going again. Highly recommended.

Great home cooked Sunday Lunch - our favourite, along with many regulars and visitors to Otley. Sadly, Monica and Andy are retiring soon, so you'll need to get in quick! If you can't make it on Sunday the rest of their weekday menu is equally good food and hood value!

Down for the weekend from Sunderland to meet our son, daughter-in-law and Grandson. Called in for dinner (that's 12-1ish); not lunch! Typical old style pub, no aires or graces, well maintained in a traditional style. Really friendly staff willing to go an extra mile to meet our daughter's needs. Food was fantastic, a proper Sunday dinner. Can't wait to go back (oh and to see grandson naturally).

A small pub on the main street Otley never been in before a friendly wellcome from landlord and agood selection of beers and largers chose guest beer excellent the place was busy (saturday evening early) but a nice atmosphere and good ambiance.

My wife and I first went to whitakers a few months ago and now we can no longer stay away. The staff are lovely and the food is gorgeous. Sunday lunch is mouth watering.

Seems a nice place for a casual drink, friendly bar staff and local regulars. Catering a different story. Slow and indifferent food service. Not everything available from menu. 45 minute waiting time, a degrading lecture from the chef as opposed to an apology. Could easily have turned into a ‘scene’. Only passing through the town so not likely to be back but travellers beware, there are other nice looking venues available.

Came here with a friend for a mid week lunch, cheap prices, cheerful staff and lovely home made food! I had the lasagne which I can highly recommend, along with cheesy chips which were equally as tasty!! My friend had the chicken fajitas which were absolutely delicious and had the other diners with plate envy!! Large beer garden to the rear which is lovely in summer!!! Would return and recommend to friends!

Nice old school feel pub with some nice ales and seems to be popular with regulars who know each other and the bar staff. Got booked in for Sunday lunch and it was really good. Got a large meal with mixed meats and all were tasty as were the Yorkshire and roasts.
