Best fried egg north of the Severn Estuary! Recently moved to Somerset but wanted to show off my Leeds credentials to my other half. Tribeca City Cafe fulfilled all expectations with a superb full English breakfast and coffees to match, all served promptly with refined professionalism. Had a friendly chat with the owner who definitely deserves your custom if you're anywhere nearby. If you can find your way to the magnificent Leeds Town Hall then this superb basement gem of a cafe is only a few yards away. Extra tables at street level also if the sun shines. You won't be disappointed!

Y no me decepcionó. Perfectamente cocinado, bien sazonado, bien presentado.

I was in Leeds city centre early , I looked up “ Best Breakfasts In Leeds “ on google , and this was one of the top 10 recommended places . Dead easy to find . It’s a basement cafe - takeaway situated on the corner of the very pleasant Park Square area . I chose scrambled eggs in sourdough , as that’s what my internet search had highlighted as a house special . The only thing I can say is they were probably the nicest scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten , I complimented the lady who owns the cafe , and she told me she is a trained chef , no surprise really considering the taste and texture of the eggs . The place is obviously busy with the legal profession stopping by to take breakfast into their offices , but there was plenty of space to eat on simple cafe style metal tables . I’ll happily return here , it would be great to try the other menu items , but the eggs were so good ....

My son and I stumbled upon the tribeca city café whilst waiting for an appointment. The menu was very good and more interesting than any other "café" I've visited! I had the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs on sour dough toast. It was absolutely delicious! The quality of ingredients definitely shines through. The 3 ladies were very pleasant and we felt relaxed (good choice of music). A nice touch was showcasing all the local suppliers on a board at the counter. Will definitely visit again!

Perfect place for breakfast - lots of people stop for takeaway or breakfasts of all kinds, and they deliver to offices. Local suppliers for very fresh ingredients, a teeny café with about 6 tables and one with a big squishy settee (plus tables outside). The stairs down are steep, but that didn't put us off

Working in Leeds one does occasionally pop out for breakfast. Sometimes you just want exactly that... Breakfast. I've been here a few times. Scrambled eggs to die for exactly as they should be cooked. Only negative personally is the posh bread was too thick making it hard to eat without scratching the roof of your mouth although I'm sure if I'd asked for normal break they would have obliged. Highly recommended. Friendly. Do it. I will be doing again...

Had brekkie here before we hit the museum nearby. Pleasant staff, nice ambience. I enjoyed my scrambled egg on toast . (A second slice of toast would have been good). Tea by the cup not by the pot. Liked the jazz sound track on a rainy morning. Very civilised.

This review is going to be very specific as I went here deliberately as I’m working my way through Leeds-Lists’ ’21 Things to Eat in Leeds Before You Die’. Their suggestion here is the scrambled eggs. So off I went, driving into a training course remarkably early to get just that. They are quite remarkable, and might I add very very yellow. Just the right consistency, served on excellent bread and the portion size really well judged. I wasn’t feeling stuffed throughout the morning at work, but I had eaten enough that I could tolerate a late lunch break. Staff were very polite, the café is small but for breakfast who needs q wide expanse? The scrambled eggs really are to die for and if you’re looking for a good quality breakfast and you’re at the Westgate end of town then this should be your first choice.

I always pop in here when I'm working in Leeds as the food if always very fresh and very good. However, this morning I greeted by an assistant who I can only describe as being passively hostile. From the minute I opened my mouth I knew she was not interested in me. I only wanted coffee and toast and after clearly asking for granary I was given sourdough bread. I wasn't particularly bothered as this was delicious but when I asked if it as granary she replied curtly "yes, that's what you asked for." I knew it wasn't granary but continued eating as it was nice all the same but I was curious so asked another assistant who said no that's sourdough. The hostile assistant was stood very close by said "well I wrote malted down"!! The mind boggles?. Without a word of apology she carried on serving another group of male customers, all sweetness and light. I don't think I'll be back.

Was working in Leeds for 6 weeks and was fortunate to stumble across this little gem on the first day I went out looking for somewhere to have lunch and found myself coming back every day. Really nice range of sandwiches and the salads are extremely good, all the ingredients are fresh and very tasty and I can highly recommend their range of pork pies (the black pudding one is particularly good). What really makes this place and what kept me coming back are the staff who are amazingly friendly and make it the truly great little cafe it is. I also shouldn't forget the homemade cakes, everyday I tried to resist but most days I usually fell to temptation, it's a little gem and deserves all the good reviews. Thanks for looking after us for 6 weeks, I will be back.

This place was recommended to me and I can understand why. It's just near Park Square and a little hidden away downstairs. It has plenty of seating both in and outside and has a real Art Deco theme. This is not the place for your average sandwich, and it has a great and creative menus. Slightly pricey - but worth every penny. Very quick to serve and friendly. You can see the ingredients are high quality and extremely fresh. I had a feta and tapenade sandwich with roasted tomatoes in a brown ciabatta. A lot of the goods are made by the owner on site and would definitely recommend the sausage and chorizo roll, and the chocolate brownie was a squishy chocolate lovers dream !

I headed for Great George Street to treat myself to a nice breakfast while I got some writing in before work, but almost everywhere had shut down, the street looking more like a ghost town than the bustling mass of independents I remembered. At a loss, I almost resigned myself to a sad Morrison's porridge pot at my desk when I remembered seeing this little gem, hidden away on Park Square.I got there early, at only quarter to eight, but they were already open and serving. On first glance it's small but welcoming with clean, inviting lines: lovely solid wood furniture, flagged floors, comfy leather sofa (win!), the soothing tones of Sinatra in the background and a tempting array of cakes and bakes strewn along the long counter. After checking they take card (they do, £5 minimum charge), I took a look at their breakfast menu. There was plenty of choice but this was a treat breakfast so I plumped for the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on brown toast with a liquorice tea. This came to over £8, which I would consider a indulgent lunch. Treat breakfast. Had to remember that. However, when it came (after only a few minutes, just enough time to read the headlines of the papers they get delivered), it was definitely more than worth it. The slab of toast came from the Leeds Bread Co-operative, one of my favourites and had that chewy, flavourful crust and the oh-so-soft seeded inner that really makes a breakfast. It was piled high with molten eggs, seasoned to perfection and more salmon than I get through at Christmas, topped with fresh cracked black pepper. I inhaled it so fast I dropped some on the floor and gave a serious split-second's thought to picking it up and eating it anyway! There were three members of staff on, one who I presumed to be the owner or manager on the till and coffee machine who had the kind of friendly, no-nonsense air about her that marks a decent boss in the service industry, and two girls in the kitchen serving, both of whom were pleasant, efficient and looked happy to be there. With the lunch menu on the wall behind the counter looking fantastic, free WiFi and a brownie bigger than a brick, I will definitely be back to sample more. I think I may have found my new monthly treat breakfast venue of choice. The only problem will be stopping myself from coming back any sooner!

I've stopped by at Tribeca a couple of times in the few months as it's ultra convenient for a quick revive before my monthly customer meeting just across the road. It's always been a nice place to grab a quick cuppa and a savory snack and much better value than the usual chain coffee houses. Today was a pretty grim weather day, grey and rainy, but I was greeted with a warm welcome from the lovely manager and a colleague. I asked for suggestions saying I wanted something warm and was recommended the Pumpkin, Red Pepper and Cheddar soup. Now I'm not really a soup person, I hardly ever order it, but wow! I was very glad I took the suggestion! I was served a hearty bowl of appetising looking soup accompanied by a lovely buttered chunk of fresh sour dough bread. The soup was a really tasty meal, certainly one of the very best soups I've ever had. It was a blended soup, but retained some nice chunky bits which added depth of flavour, and the melted cheddar just made the whole thing totally yum.I left a happy man, ready to face my customer meeting, and in the knowledge my feast and a cuppa had only set me back around a fiver. I'll definitely be back, and will be crossing my fingers that they still have this soup on the menu. Good work Tribeca!

I must say, since changing hands the food at Tribeca has improved tenfold! The old menu was far too large, took too long to read and wasn't very interesting. I have eaten at Tribeca many times since it changed hands and go back again and again. Love it! Not sure why one of the reviews on here says the bap was the smallest EVER, they are large, soft and the brown rolls are the tastiest brown rolls I have EVER eaten. If you haven't given it a go yet, try their 'signature' chicken and chorizo sandwich - HEAVEN! The salads change daily and are delicious and the pastries and cakes they make themselves are DIVINE! The staff are happy, genuinely friendly and seem to go out of their way to make whatever lunch you order, exactly how you like it, no trouble at all. If you eat in, you'll pick up the friendly vibe just being in there - nice music, great people - perhaps the café itself needs to be bigger but certainly not the rolls!

I used to love this place and regularly went on my lunch for bagels, paninis and the such., but you got a good fill for your money and the food was pure quality. I have just been today after a break I am appalled by the new menu, and prices! I am assuming they may have been taken over by new management, and although staff were very friendly, the handwritten blackboard menu was difficult to read, the vegetarian options were few and far between, and at £3.90 for basically a cheese+rocket sandwich (on THE smallest little bap ever) or £4.50 for a brie and cranberry, I honestly think they've got an absolute nerve. I will never be back, and know many of my colleagues feel the same
