We happen to drop in on the way past, we ordered Sunday roast with cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. It was excellent value, piping hot and a fantastic atmosphere with open fires!

Last week we had to do a fairly long detour to get back onto the A458 near Much Wenlock and going along the country road we saw a pub - The Mill at Leighton. We decided to come back a few days later and it was so worth it. My husband had whitebait, roast beef and ice cream and I had a veggie pie with an Eton Mess. Delicious food, comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. Certainly somewhere to return to with family and friends. Thank you.

Visited about 7 years ago whilst on holiday and it was average, we now live in the area and when we found out it was under new community ownership we thought we'd give it another try. So glad we did 🤩 First rate service, seriously excellent food and very dog friendly. It really is a fantastic pub with staff that care and know their drinks and menu, a nice mix of locals and passing visitors and I've never been to a pub that had treats and fresh water for the dogs bought to our table. The building also has a fascinating history.

Booked in for Mothers Day Lunch and it was very busy as expected. Fearing the worst, I was therefore delighted that the service and meals were still first class. Obviously very well managed and organised. Waiters all friendly, obliging and responded very well to a bit of banter. We will return. PS A shame that the Butty Bach was too moorish. Thanks.

Friend & I called in for lunch on Sat 19 November. I'd had a friendly voice when I booked by phone, and was met by a welcoming & helpful lady when we arrived. It was a cold day, so we sat by an open log fire. We're both real ale drinkers, so each had a pint from the selection of 6. Both were excellent, as were our meals when they arrived after just an appropriate wait. Pete had minted lamb hotpot, I had venison casserole with a topping of dauphinoise potatoes. Both were hot, tasty, and reasonably priced. We then coudn't resist the desserts! Service was prompt, friendly, and not intrusive. It's rare for me not to have anything to criticise, but this was one of those occasions. It's a super pub, and thank you. Just one thing - it would be helpful if the reviews could appear under the pub's changed name.

Now known as *THE MILL at LEIGHTON*; used to frequent this pub in the mid nineties as a close friend from University lived in the village. Have very fond memories of the establishment & wanted to show my wife, kids & dogs, as we were passing enroute back from Wales. New ownership now (five locals I’m led to believe), has given it a real boost. Friendly staff, nice assistant mangeress looked after us today, attentive young lad looked after us with food order. Couldn’t fault the experience; still retains the olde pub charm with beautiful mill, now great home cooked food, wine & cask ales. Well done to the team that now steer this wise ship…..in the past it had changed hands & the experience was unpredictable; it’s now a credit to the new owners & feel quietly confident it will do very well. First class! 👍

We popped in over the weekend with our two dogs. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were very professional. We waited quite a long time for our food to arrive even though it was pretty empty but it was worth the wait. My partner had a mixed grill and I had the salmon - both gorgeous. My only grumble was that my meal was a bit on the small side and I'd have liked more - because it was so nice! We would definitely come again.

Our group have been a few times over the years to have a meeting and a get together, combined with a lunch and a pint or two. I missed the last visit here, so pleased we had another one booked back in November last year. I believe the venue has changed hands recently. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and pint. Good food, beer, excellent service. We felt welcome from the moment we entered. I will look forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

We went along to our local, to join in with the Christmas festivities that out local landlady and her staff put on. Wow! What an excellent night. Fantastic food served for 60 people ( there about’s) Becky the manager certainly knows how to throw a party ! and so do her staff. The place looked magical all set in clean, festive tablecloths and all the trimmings. The chef cooked everything to perfection and her staff were extremely professional. I would recommend anyone who wants to throw a party to book it at our local, nothing is to much trouble for her and she certainly will go far with this establishment. Well done Becky! Keep up the good work. You deserve all the praise you had last night. All the best for Newyear and I’m sure the celebrations at the Kynnersly will be one to be remembered with all your efforts and amazing support from your fantastic staff.

We booked lunch for 14, including a baby, and could not have been made more welcome. The pub is decorated beautifully for Christmas, the open fire was blazing merrily and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food came out in very short order (we had pre-ordered) and everyone expressed how lovely it all was. The best thing in my view was that everyone was able to settle their own bill so I didn't get landed with the awful job of figuring out who owed what. Thank you! We'll be back next year.

Finally found a good value pub in Telford that is not part of a chain. Our kids had pasta/ sausage and chips for £5 which they both loved. We had rump steaks which were perfectly cooked with homemade chips, large mushroom and baby confit tomatoes, they were truly memorable, well done. For dessert we had chocolate fudge cake which was huge and very tasty. There is a good selection of wines too.

We called in for lunch in midweek and we were very pleased that we did! We did book beforehand, but, being a Thursday, it was pretty quiet and so booking seems unnecessary. There is a good and varied menu and an excellent range of beers. Two of us had the Fidget Pie and one the Beef Stew, both were excellent and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient. All in all a very nice lunch and we will certainly be calling again in the near future.

All change at the 'Kyn' with new management and chef. Visited last night on the spur of the moment with family. Premises have had a 'senisitive' refurb and change round which works really well. Great to see the pub busy again, which did challenge the staff who made a couple of minor mistakes with the food, but were quick to put it right and both we and they accepted that it's all new and mistakes can occur. Six meals served quickly, hot and tasty. A really lovely comfortable family atmosphere. The new table layout seemed to work well and although tight in places, conversations remained private.

Popped into this lovely country pub on the way back from a day in Ironbridge, was pleased with the cosy atmosphere and open fire on arrival. Ordered 2 roasts as it was a Sunday, one beef and one lamb at an additional price, which is fine. Biggest slice of meat I have ever been served in my life, although the lamb was a little bit fatty, everything else was perfection. Roasties, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and even a Yorkshire and stuffing as standard as most places only serve Yorkshire's with a certain meat.

We decided to come here for dinner based on the reviews and the menu available on the website. First of all the pub was practically deserted but we were seated at a nice table by the fire. The menus were cheap and scuffed and a couple of items were actually unavailable (but staff were unaware of this until later). Saying "we can't find the whitebait" just sounds so amatuer. The beer was good with a nice selection and staff were attentive. The main courses though were very below par and a number of the party were left feeling disappointed with their selection. My slow roasted pork belly lacked any kind of crunchy crackling on top and the gravy was very generic and bland. The less said about the "seasonal vegetables" the better.

Went for a meal which was fine and staff were very nice but we ordered two double gin and tonics and added it to the bill. When we came to pay we were charged £19:60 for the gins alone, totally overpriced and we were not made aware of the price of them at any point. Thought we had been charged 4 times over for them as it showed £4:80 twice for each double on the receipt. Spoke to staff obviously new owners policy. Total greed comes to mind for a country pub, it's a shame.

50 minutes for 2 completely wrong sandwiches, fresh food on the floor outside the kitchen in boxes, completely disorganised staff who have absolutely no idea how to run a pub/restaurant. The staff spend most of their time scurrying about in the freezer trying to find something to cook. No apology offered for incorrect meal, would have accepted issues had it been very busy but there was 4 tables in the entire restaurant. They did offer to remove the sandwiches from the bill but could not confirm when new sandwiches would arrive so did not want to sit hungry for another hour or so so we left. Will not return.

As a vegetarian I was delighted to have a large choice! The menu was huge, and when I saw how larger was including specials, I thought they could possibly produce so many things at high quality. I was wrong....the vegetable moussaka was divine (portion too large for me though) and the other main meal also very skilfully prepared and cooked. We were very impressed with the service along with the quality if the meal....better than many far more expensive and more pretentious places. I think the eating area might benefit from a bit of 'lightening', as the building is dark, and some more thought with interior design e.g. new carpet. However, that was not a major issue and n the important areas of customer service and food they were extremely good.

Came here last night and ordered food to be disappointed once again. The salad had wilted and looked like it was dried, the chips were brown and dry on the inside to be honest they looked like reheated leftovers out of the bin, very poor quality. This is not the first time we have ate here. We were disappointed on our last visit also but were convinced to return due to them recruiting a new chef. Such a shame, such a nice pub but definitely needs a new atmosphere, a homely welcoming one that you would expect from a country pub.

When we arrived we saw the black board with jug of pimms, we asked for a jug of pimms to be told it's not available today.! So we chose other drinks. We have been here before and our expectations were high as we had a really good meal several times. I have to say that this visit was way off, The food delivered was not as expected. The Battered Fish was over cooked or the fat was dirty as it was very dark, and we asked if it was home made as the appearance was quite odd. The lady chef then said that it was and produced the batter and fish. The Belly of Pork, was ok but the Crackling was very chewy and the gravy had loads of thyme in it which was over powering. At no point did the waitress ask if everything was ok. She was sitting at the bar polishing cutlery and talking to colleagues, so our plates were not cleared! We then went to the bar and asked to pay. What a shame as before we had always praised the venue.

We had a great meal, I couldn't fault the food. The main menu has enough choice from with some specials on the board as well. Service perhaps a little slow but we were in no rush. Price is very reasonable considering the quality. It also has the friendly relaxed atmosphere of a local pub. Good real ales from Woods and Three Tuns. Quite why anyone would go to the Grazing Cow in Lawley when this place is 10 minutes away I'm not sure. We will be returning. Telford needs more pubs like this.

We have been meaning to visit the Kynnersley Arms for several years simply out of interest and because of the connection to our family name. We weren't disappointed. We were made to feel very welcome by the manager and his staff. We enjoyed looking around and were fascinated by the history of the place. There aren't many Inns that can boast a corn mill dating back to the Domesday book!! The Sunday carvery was excellent and well worth the hour and a half travel time that we had. Fresh vegetables, beautifully cooked meat and delicious trimmings. The children loved seeing their name "up in lights" so to speak and it really made for a lovely day out for us. Oh.....and the profiteroles were the best we've ever had!!

Called in for lunch. Homemade soup was lovely but sausages and mash was superb. Sausages were locally made and gorgeous. The mash had the chef's secret ingredient and was very tasty. Portions were big and it came with peas and carrots. Good menu and locally brewed beer. Highly recommended.

Wonderful freshly prepared vegetables, meat and potatoes served with choices of sauces and accompaniments. Hospitality very welcoming and surrounding very congenial to spending many a relaxing hour at this wonderful hostelry. Many more visits on the cards, don't change a thing.

We visit this lovely old pub on a regular basis but have only just started to go for the Sunday carvery which can only be described as TOP DOLLAR! A choice of 3 meats and plenty of variety of veg at a great price - what more can you ask for?

This real country pub has to be the best place in Shropshire for real home cooked Sunday dinner in a very warm and friendly setting, you have the choice 3 meat's and a great choice of fresh locally sourced vegetables then there's the home made meaty gravy to top it of.

I went with a group of friends. I had a 3 course meal - all divine especially the chutney and the steak and the heavenly white chocolate profiteroles. I thought it was excellent value for money. The staff were attentive but not pushy. The atmosphere was very pleasant - no loud music, no loud people and a cozy log fire. The Christmas decoration was very tasteful . Would I go back next week? In a heartbeat! Will I be going back? Definitely!

We passed the "Kyn" on Saturday afternoon purely by chance on our way home having decided to take the back roads. We spotted the signs for their Sunday carvery so booked in on Sunday morning.

This pub is an old corn mill, the location is lovely. The inside décor is nice with lovely old wooden tables. We were there to meet friends that we had not seen for a long while. We never felt that we had to hurry our meal and get out. The service was great, albeit the chef was new and our meal took some time in coming. Not that we were worried. The owner bought us a round of drinks as our meal was a long time coming. The food was good when it did come. We had a lovely relaxing afternoon with very attentive (and apologetic) staff.

Very good attentive staff but reminded us of Fawlty Towers but a pub .. Not good to see the staff carrying plates and pots through where you are eating to a wash room back of the pub..

Chose to visit on the strength of some very good recent reviews, what followed was one of the worst lunches I've ever had.The menu was very extensive, the specialities were the pasta dishes but they also offered some "old faithfuls", from these my father had the pan fried liver and bacon while I had the "slow roast" pork belly. Both were disappointingly small portions. My pork belly was not as described on the menu, it was not slow roasted, instead of being very tender, it was tough, there was no apple sauce compote, the black pudding mash was cold and the sage jus minimal, leaving the dish dry. We had asked earlier about the sweet menu and were told we would be given it after our mains, it didn't come, I had to ask for it. We both chose the tiramisu, it took over half an hour to arrive. The beer was expensive and one of the cask ales, although not sour, was cloudy - I could have returned it but by this stage I just wasn't bothered.I did register a complaint about the poor quality of the food and the bar manager did speak and seemed genuinely concerned. Maybe it was just a bad day for the pub, it was busy and they looked to be understaffed but it is hard for any pub / restaurant to offer such an extensive menu and guarantee freshly prepared and good quality food, it's better to concentrate on a smaller number of dishes and get them right.

We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

Pub recently taking over by an individual who leftt his Dog to rot to death in the back of his previous pub in The Railway Hotel Nantwitch. And the workers are in on it If you give these people your money you are supporting this and becoming a part of the problem! Absolutely vile. Poor pups

I go with my friends here all the time!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff are very friendly, and it’s an all-round pleasant place to be. And of course, I must mention Bruno. He’s the goodest boy, always happy to see him there 🐶. 10/10, would recommend.
