Quiet (certainly when we went on a Saturday eve) more upper class bar in Newport. Would have been a higher eating if there had been more of an atmosphere but will try again.

Will not be going back here or recommend. I was out with two friends for a couple of drinks and we decided to try the Bridge Inn. Almost as soon as we walked in, both the bartender and a customer (who im assuming was a regular) said “who the hell are these girls” and “what are they doing here”. We were obviously embarrassed and shocked at this poor customer service so asked where the toilets were (nothing to write home about) and left. A terrible first (and last) impression

Rude staff. Made me feel very unwelcome

Lovely food, good choice of wines and although staff were young, they were pleasant and accommodating. Dogs were made very welcome too. What a shame that due to energy price increases it is forcing the owner to sell up.

Great food and attentive table staff, fully warranted a decent tip.

Had our local pubs Christmas party last night. Food drinks and service was excellent, very reasonably priced.

We had a really enjoyable evening at the Bridge Inn. My wife's fish and chips were perfect, and my lamb leg steak was the best I've had, and the veg cooked perfectly. Really good value as well. The pub had a warm and friendly welcoming atmosphere. The front and middle bars are a good places for a drink, with the cosy restaurant to the rear. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Food, drink and atmosphere is fantastic, would recommend to anyone after a high quality meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Will be seeing you again thank you.

This place never fails to impress - service to the quality of the food is always amazing. One of the most busiest places to eat in the area - we are thankful we have this establishment to visit.

Food was lovely and well presented, waiters were polite and attentive, along with bar staff being friendly. Lovely evening out.

We went for a meal with visiting family. The pub was busy but we were seated promptly and the service was efficient and friendly. We had the fish and chips, the gammon and the chicken dish. All were very tasty, nicely presented and decent portion sizes. The landlord and the young Waitrose were friendly, efficient and helpful. Altogether a lovely evening. Definitely recommend.

Food of good quality and those waiting on tables, polite, attentive and a good example to other members of staff of how to successfully engage with customers! HOWEVER…… pints served short all evening at the bar and had to request correct measures each time, coffee undrinkable and when paying, an individual (assumed to be the manager) had the audacity to request to ‘round the bill up’ as the total was tricky to split in half! To compound things, we had already left a significant tip! Lazy, rude, arrogant and discourteous behaviours portrayed throughout the evening and a very much misaligned understanding of how to manage customers expectations. Hoping this feedback will present an opportunity to reflect and improve their future approach to all paying customers, and not simply be dismissed as noise. A disappointing visit overall and we will NOT be returning!

Nice Meals, very comfortable pub

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. We have never been here before and we were very impressed. Staff were not in your face and it was excellent value for money the portion was so generous I had no room for dessert we will be visiting again very soon to try more of the menu well done to all the staff for an amazing experience.

Wonderful food in a lovely pub setting.

We Needed somewhere to sit outside and eat to have a catch-up & relax with visiting family and the Bridge Inn were able to accommodate us. The waitress staff were very nice and friendly. We ordered the Sunday roast and 1 fish pie. The food was great, served hot, freshly prepared and came with a good selection of fresh vegetables, extra gravy and mint sauce. Would recommend as a nice cosy place to be.

Wanted to say how impressed I was with the Food and service. Spent the evening of May 6th 2022 at The Bridge Inn, Newport, Shropshire. It was my Special Birthday. Had excellent service , the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was superb, we were a small party of three, but we all had the Fish and Chips. cooked to perfection, then two of the party had the Cheesecake with Pecans for sweet, and I had the Chocolate brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream. It could not have been better. Meal came out for us piping hot and the waitresses were speedy and efficient. Would definitely go back again. In-fact am looking forward to it. Well done and Thanks so much.

Had my 21st birthday meal here in December. Food was incredible with great choice. Service was impeccable and they catered to all our needs. Couldn’t of wished for anything better!

Great Sunday lunch. Thoroughly recommended.

We were visiting the area and came across this place and the grandchildren were hungry. No tables available inside so sat outside which was lovely and shady. Four adults ordered the beef, cheese and pickle and fish sandwiches paying extra for fries. No children's menu so ordered a small Sunday roast beef for our grandchildren. We were very surprised children aren't catered for. Beef was chewy, battered fish was very greasy, fries not crisp. Roast potatoes weren't cooked enough. We all left most of our meals. The waitress was very busy and we didn't want to stress her more by complaining.

Friendly staff, very good wine list, food was excellent. Highly recommend!

Went for food Monday evening wasn't looking for anything to big ordered blt and asked for some chips really tasty but wen the bill came out we were charged 11.95 euro was chocked to say the least checked the menu on the window outside which says blt chips and side salad 10.95 euro so not onlt were we over charged but got no side salad. I spoke to a girl about this and then noticed in the menu board blt 5 euro so I was charged 5 euro for I'd say about 30 chips she couldn't really explain why this happened and charged me 10 euro for the blt and chips in the end. I won't be back because its definitely a real sign of let's rip of the tourists.

We been going to the Bridge for a couple of years now & love it here. Always a friendly welcome & the food is amazing. Since re-opening after the 2nd lock-down - still excellent & they also have the addition of smaller/bar meals if you are only wanting to call in for a drink or two. Great food great service... Wouldn't have even known covid was about .. well organized!

Only went for a drink (no food) with a few friends. Haven't been for a good while and hadn't realised what was the car park has now been turned into additional seating areas to maximise social distancing. Has a one way system, front to back (though later in the evening this gets informally relaxed if the numbers are low enough). Good experience though, and recommend the Twisted Spire - good pint in my humble view.

I visited this establishment at lunchtime on a week day. It offered a menu board together with a light bite paper menu. As it was lunchtime, my friend and I opted for the light bite. I have to say the meal was excellent. It arrived piping hot and clearly freshly cooked to order. The staff were polite, helpful and extremely efficient. The cost of the meals are very good value for money including the light bite menuI would highly recommend The Bridge Inn and I am planning to return for an evening meal!

An absolutely fantastic steak. We had Sunday lunch here and I didn’t fancy the roast lunch so opted for a steak, it was superb, cooked on a griddle so it had great flavour and cooked medium rare perfectly. The waiting staff are lovely and friendly....

Taken the girlfriend out. Couldn’t get in the first time we tried. Booked and luckily got in. Fantastic menu choice, reasonably priced. Steak £17. I had the sea bass. Really flavoursome and nicely presented. Pudding lemon posset, delicious. Highly Recommend.

Great place to relax on a Friday night after a weeks work

A return to the town I grew up in and realised despite visiting most of Newport's hostelries at one time or another, The Bridge Inn wasn't one of them. Parking available at the back though a tight squeeze to get there! A warm welcome awaited along with a pleasant aroma of something fishy cooking. Liked the way the draught beers set out in order, brown to left, blonde to right. Can particularly recommend the Three Tuns. Dining area informal and comfortable (though with good acoustics too!). Varied menu at very reasonable prices and with a considerable variety of fish dishes. Service excellent and attentive without being overbearing, a real can-do attitude amongst its staff. Will look forward to coming here again sometime soon.

We had booked in another local restaurant but they were closed due to problems (didn't know until we arrived at the restaurant) so rang the Bridge they were just finishing lunch service but they held the chef for us. Lovely food, great service, friendly staff

Stopped in for Saturday lunch whilst visiting Harper Adams. The food was fantastic, service excellent, dogs welcome. Now our go to place to eat when in the area. Possibly one of the best steak and ale pies I have ever had. See you soon.

The kitchen totally got it right with the food - all tasted fresh, well cooked, just the right amount of choice, filling and delicious! Surroundings and service also very pleasant indeed.

This is the 2nd visit in a few couple of months and although the food is ok and helpings on the large side - do not expect any form of table service. On both ocassions we nearly ended up with the starters in our laps due to clumsy waitresses. The main courses were also served on very hot plates that they tried to physically pass us - luckily we made them put the plates on the table and didn’t end up in A & E ! Management need to invest time in training their staff .
