We visited the grove for Mother’s Day, 6 adults, 1 child. 3 x roast chicken, 2 x 8oz fillet steak, 1 children’s chicken nuggets +chips. My meal (steak) came out and looked great, although my stone wasn’t hot enough to cook my steak, onions and mushrooms, my steak although looked great, tasted horrible. £23 to only be satisfied with the chips! My wife also couldn’t eat the chicken and neither could my father Inlaw, only eating less that half there meals. I wouldn’t go back if I’d not Eaton for a month and was offered a free meal!

We visited here on the 16/05/2016 as a date night choice, after seeing it as the number 1 restaurant in the Telford area. I had be meaning to come here for a long time, and finally got round to it, and my goodness I was NOT disappointed! The whole experience was spectacular! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with only a few other tables being occuppied. The service was top-notch, and I couldn't fault it if I tried, as they had it down to a fine art, and the food was out of this world. My SO and I both went for the 8oz rump steak, as a way of playing it safe, knowing that we'd be back to try some of the more exotic dishes. The steak came out rare on a black rock, as this is the way they serve all of their steaks, so that it can cook in front of you while you eat it, and you can cook it exactly the way you like it. I wish this method was implemented in more places because it was fantastic! Not only did it provide some great conversation at the table, but it gifted me with one of the most delicious steaks I have ever tasted, ever! I look forward to returning shortly to try some of the other steaks, such as the T-bone or the fillet. The chips were fantastic, and you can tell that everything is home-grown and home-cooked. Lastly, to my chagrin, I couldn't help but order a dessert. As you walk in to the restaurant you are greeted with a vast array of cakes, baked in house, I went for a slice of the chocolate fudge cake, and looked to have been the only one to do so as the cake had remained untouched all day, while the others slowly whittled down. I can see why it was untouched, as it was a BIG slice, I struggled to get it all down, but it was so delicious that it was all I could think about on the way home! We had racked up quite the bill by the end (around £75), as we had 2 starters, 2 mains, 3 desserts (we shared a shake), and a handful of drinks, I felt bad that I was not able to tip, as I seldom carry any physical money, and their card machine does not allow gratuity. I'll remember that for next time, and after I had paid we were even given complimentary mints and sweets to enjoy on our journey home. I honestly cannot praise this place enough, as it has provided us with one of the best restaurant-going experiences we've had in a long time, and we will certainly be returning very soon!

Pub recently taking over by an individual who leftt his Dog to rot to death in the back of his previous pub in The Railway Hotel Nantwitch. And the workers are in on it If you give these people your money you are supporting this and becoming a part of the problem! Absolutely vile. Poor pups

This is a rare gem in Telford. The building has been tastefully converted with a lovely ambience and parking is available. The food was excellent and well presented, from the bread and balsamic through to the venison Wellington. Service, although very nice and polite, was slow and a bit haphazard. For example we ordered two breads to start, one arrived with our main course, attention was lacking, we felt we had to ask for a few things and they took quite a while to arrive. A good Maitre d' would solve all this in an instant. The toilets were not great, they are unisex and unfortunately some male customer had obviously missed which was not comfortable for others then to use. Also the disabled access toilet door was partially blocked by a chair so couldn't be opened properly. Overall a nice place to go and good value, with just a bit more attention to detail it would be excellent and a place to rave about.
