The breakfast here is fantastic! Perfect start to the day. The staff are incredibly friendly and always remember me when I come in. Love having a chat with them whilst waiting for food and they always make me feel very welcome whenever I pop in. Don't miss out on a classic English breakfast.

Friendly staff, food is hot. The cafe is so clean and welcoming. Might be a little wait for food but who cares when your sat people watching. We travel from Bristol to Newquay very often and this has been our breakfast stop for 25 years.

Today i visited for the first time as i was in Newquay visiting the area for the day. I was very impressed with the welcome, decor, choice of food, portions, cleanliness and value for money. I love the idea of the buffet breakfast having a wide choice to suit everyone taste and requirements. I'm diabetic and it was no problem to adjust my requirements to suit my dietary needs. I will be recommending to friends and will definitely be back the next time I'm visiting Newquay.

Staff are extremely polite and friendly, the cafe was nice and clean. Had a bacon and sausage bap which was nice and fresh .🙂

Popped in the half term on our stroll through town. Much inproved since under new ownership. It was light, airy and inviting. Great friendly service feom the minite we stepped in, generous sized portions and the food was delicious and hot. Will definately go back again.

We have been going to newquay for 26 years and we go here every time we are down . Lovely hot food, can take abit of time to arrive but that's the price you pay for freshly cooked to order food. Absolutely love this cafe . Trip not complete without a bunters brekkie.

Had a breakfast and drinks, very nice. We were told there may be a wait but it wasnt too long, and worth it. Will go again. Family was happy.

Went in for drinks with the family, we will be trying the knickerbockers next time, the girls out front were very busy but always had time to smile or talk to my kids.

I have been using bunters for over 20 years whenever I am in newquay and it has always been amazing food and my reviews have reflected that. but on this occasion I was so disappointed. the eggs over cooked bacon like rubber the fried bread was greasy as hell the beans and tomatoes had no flavour. I am never a fan of dog friendly restaurant but if they allow dogs they should be om a tight lead and not be free to roam they definitely shouldn't be scratching themselves close to others. then when the person who I assume is the new owner / chef came out the kitchen he petted said dogs head curious to know if he washed his hands after. it wasn't a one off as the lady opposite waited over 30 minutes for a bacon sandwich and hers was overcooked too which she made clear that she couldn't eat it and was offered a refund. when we voiced our complaints concerns we just had a very flippant sorry and he even tried making a joke of it by saying not hungry seeing hardly any of the food was eaten. no offer to replace the food or refund or even a free breakfast on next visit like he offered the other guest. very poor and definitely not returning. RIP bunters is all I can say because unless these new owners change their approach they won't be around long

As a local I will not be going again as my food was not very warm my chips where nearly cold , the eggs where over cooked

Ignored and forgotten. Sat in for breakfast and took an age to get our drinks and breakfast ordered. We then sat finished our drinks with no food present or anyone asking if we would like another. I watched as every other table was approached at least 3 times by various staff to ask if they would like another drink, their food was OK, etc. I couldn't even catch someone's eye. In the end, I got up and approached the till for another drink. The coffee is mediocre at best. The breakfasts came out approx. 40 mins after we sat down. In the time, we were approached 5 times once to take the initial order and 4 other times to drop items on the table or remove empty plates. Just poor service considering every other table was approached several times to check everything was ok or if they required further assistance.

Returned after 2 very underwhelming visits last summer and earlier this year. Almost back to their best if the sausages would have been better and not resemble pepperamis, and sunny side Eggs had soft yolk it would have got a 5

The food was amazing. The onion rings tasted like home sweet home. The food is exquisite when they came out of the kitchen. When I come back in the future, this place will be number one on mine and family's list.

Absolutely beautiful breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, perfect portion for cost. Staff were lovely and welcoming, the short girl with black hair was absolutely amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Such a comforting place, dog friendly with little doggie breakfasts which we thought was the sweetest idea. Will definitely be returning when we next visit cornwall.

We dropped in for breakfast and we got the most friendly welcome you could ask for. The service was fantastic and food was excellent. We will return in the future, also it is was very good value for money.

Went in last week and this week as we live local and I have never had to wait so long for drinks or breakfasts as we do in here. So many staff on but the service is SO SLOW! We had drunk our drinks by the time the breakfast came over and it wasn’t even busy! If you have so many staff why don’t you use a couple of the waitresses to make the drinks while the chefs cook? If you do that already, then you need to ask your waitresses to speed up. The food takes so long to cook when it does not need to! 2 lots of people walked out when we were there. Good food but not prepared to wait so long for it when it’s not even busy in there

Popped in here for a quick lunch before heading to Padstow. The staff were friendly, efficient and the food lovely. We had two cream teas and although the scones were small, they were a perfect amount. The children enjoyed their jacket potato and breakfast bap. Great for a quick lunch.

Came in ordered 2 breakfast’s& drinks. Served by a pleasant waitress. Drinks arrived & were drank, the food took so long we ended up just paying for drinks. 1 hour & food had still not arrived, the two in the kitchen were more like the chuckle brothers than chefs. Wont be going back

Visited Bunters after seeing their Facebook page and also seeing it when we popped next door one evening for fish and chips. It’s a cracking little cafe. Cream teas were fab! Gorgeous scones, just the right amount of jam and cream and I was able to have fruit tea instead of regular. My daughter says her toastie was the best she’d ever tasted! Felt very safe in current climate and well looked after. Staff very good, friendly and efficient. Returned for breakfast a few days later before we travelled home, great breakfast, great price. Next time we’re in Cornwall, we’ll definitely head back, I’ve got my eyes on a piece of lemon meringue for the next visit!

Called in here for a "proper" breakfast (what is it with Newquay cafés that think avocado and poached egg on toast is ok? I'm on holiday, I want a Full Monty!!) We were going to fish the harbour for the day, substantial food was called for!! Bunters did not disappoint! Great welcome at the door, distanced seating, friendly staff and the food was lovely! Standard breakfast with your own tweaks is perfect... coffee was really nice too and Fairtrade - bonus! Would definitely recommend this place. I suspect their meals throughout the rest of the day would be just as good too!

God help you if you find something not quite right with your food. Stale dry food given. Customer service is very poor and think they just prefer you to say nothing and eat it. Bad attitude is given if speak up and funny looks given. Would not trust them to replace anything and will not return.

We came here for a lunch in May 2019. The menu had plenty choice and the prices were reasonable. I had a sandwich and a hot chocolate and both were lovely.

My wife and I visited Newquay this week with my mother-in-law who has mobility problems and was in a wheelchair. She fancied fish and chips and I'd enjoyed some at a nearby establishment last year but found they were closed. Bunters was nearby and I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did (due to previous experiences of small venues in holiday towns always charging too much). The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious and came at a very reasonable price. My MIL got her fish and chips and very nice they were too. I'm a sucker for a good breakfast and as has previously been posted the bacon (and everything else) was quality. My wife opted for a jacket potato with a filling of her choice and that too was well-received. My MIL went for the hot apple pie with ice-cream and there was a lovely tang of cinnamon, good chunks of apple and tasty pastry. Try it...I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We were visiting Newquay on holiday and wanted to hide from the rain. We decided to stop for a cuppa in Bunters cafe and try their cakes... well what can I say!! They were awesome. Generous portions, fresh homemade cakes and friendly fast service. Well worth a visit

We came across this cafe by chance 9 years ago after getting fed up of eating fast food & have been coming back every year since. Staff are polite & friendly, the food is delicious, good portions and reasonably priced, especially for families. We have had various items on the menu over the years; Lasagne, Scampi, Steak & Ale Pie, cooked breakfast & a variety of kids meals all of which have been delicious - empty plates all round. We will be back next year.

Bunters is a lovely little Cafe located directly at the East street. We were visiting Newquay for a couple of days and enjoyed the great service and the awesome Cornish cream tea. Very enjoyable!

In our four day stay in Newquay, we visited this place for almost every meal. It was just the perfect stopping point to rest, catch your breath and feel totally relaxed. The service was excellent and very welcoming, and the food was great value and there were no pretentions. I was thoroughly pleased to keep coming back, especially for their desserts! I don't really have a sweet tooth but their legendary lemon meringue was fantastic, but their homemade treacle tart really took it for me. Can't wait to go back!

Have been coming here for years. Food is of a good quality and large portions. A bit sad they stopped doing the grilled chicken and garlic butter. Reasonable price.

Initially we stopped here as we couldn't find anything our party will fancy unanimously, and we didn't regret it, we even come back for more. Very friendly staff, warm atmosphere and good food.
