Always quality food its the best place in Newquay we try and go once a week when possible! Give it a try ! We only go for lunch but will start going for steak nite heard it’s amazing!

Sorry,but it needs saying your food is fantastic, have eaten here numerous times,but my last visit was awful, the outside space that you have under canopy is absolutely dirty with bits of food on the floor, dog hairs stuck on the decking,the chairs are filthy, my coat on the chair was covered in dog hair. I understand your always full inside,but the outside should be as clean as the inside,as we are paying the same prices..please,please keep outside space cleaner....

Me and my best friend have a date nite every once in a while, today we ended up at Lakeside And we were so impressed with the service the food and the place Thankyou will visit soon again ☺️

Food was gorgeous. We had a bacon and brie ciabatta with onion jam, it was to die for! Very friendly staff. Also dog friendly. Very clean. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back!

Myself and a friend decided to pop here for an unexpected lunch. The location is superb, staff were lovely and the food was good value for money. Good size portions too. My one and only complaint…… I ordered a jacket potato with goats cheese and roasted vegetables. The potato and cheese was lovely but the veg was swimming in oil. I’d have rather had a simple side salad. I am sure I could have requested this so only have myself to blame. I will definitely be going back in the near future! My friends Ciabatta with pulled pork looked lovely and she really enjoyed it.

Very nice food but very ver noisy

Luckily this is local for myself so I have been here many times over the last few years. Visited with family and friends for breakfast , lunch and big birthday dos. The service is always good but sometimes in high season you need to wait as they are very busy. The food is always great and really enjoyed a variety of dishes and puddings. Nice to sit watching the birds on the boating lake and people watching outside. You tend to need to book before visiting but definitely worth a visit. This is one of my favourite places to eat and many friends say the same. The cafe deserves awards for its food, I can’t praise it enough.

Been a few times when down visiting family always great food and staff are so happy and good.had a slight accident this time they couldn't have been more apologetic and helpful definitely will be back thanks again.

Lovely place to grab lunch. Price's are reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming. 4/5 for service as the place was fully booked when we went and they had one poor waiter bouncing from table to table to serve and help everyone which resulted in us waiting longer than expected for cream teas. Overall great experience.

Went this morning to be greated by a very rude lady. No customer service at all. Regardless of how good food is, service should be part of this also. Very off putting and would not return due to this. Seen alot complaining about the same thing.

Such a wonderful way to celebrate my mums birthday. The staff were exceptional in decorating our table and nothing was too much trouble. Our food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and the service was fantastic. Thanks so much

Booked samer day for a birthday meal for 4 of us. Being local we have been here many times over the years and its never failed to be a great place to go to. Excellent and varied menu for us with a great Specials board as well. Food was lovely both starters and mains along with good drink selection. The staff here are exceptional, friendly and very hard working.

Cracking find Really nice place and great food

Lovely little tea shop, very friendly staff. Good lunch menu - our party chose the ham and coleslaw sandwich (nice fresh, chunky bread), pulled pork baguette and the goats cheese and marinated vegetable baguette, all huge and very delicious! Nice coffee and a nice big pot of tea too. Our dog loved it too as he got lots of fuss and a doggy biscuit treat! Very accessible for those with mobility issues too. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they forgot to put our order in at the hatch, so we waited ages for our food, however the staff were very apologetic and offered a free drink to our two elderly diners. Would definitely recommend this cafe, lovely view of the lake.

Great little restaurant hidden away beside Newquay lake. Good selection of drinks and the food was absolutely brilliant. We skipped the starters as the cake selection was vast and looked extremely good. The mains were great also. Apparently the breakfasts here are top quality too so we will be back to try these as well.

Always very friendly, lovely food and the best coffee in the area. Pie night is a favourite of ours. Generous portions and excellent value.

Changing my review as I have boycotted Lakeside. And I've heard similar stories from other locals. Poor service, rude staff, very "clique" clientele nowadays. A couple of years ago, I went in to have coffee and cake with my son and dog. I was having a particularly bad day with my anxiety, however, I force myself into things to make sure my kids have a nice time. We waited at the door for several minutes (only 2 other tables in) We were finally, rudely greeted by an older lady. I asked "is it OK to sit by the fire?" Perfectly reasonable question considering they could be booked. I was rudely told "Well ys because that IS where people with dogs sit". My dog then slightly jumped to greet her, from about 2 feet away where she started screaming "Your dogs going to bite me". She's never bitten anyone and was no where near her so I pulled her away. I then had to find my own menus as they weren't brought over. I ended up leaving where I was then chased by this lady (I believe she was called Jacqui/Jackie) who suddenly had a personality transplant and made out like she couldn't do enough all of a sudden. I told her maybe hospitality wasn't a good vocation for her as I've been in the industry over 20 years and never been treated or treated a customer the way she did. A lot of my friends and dog owners also no longer go in. I hear constant complaints about the place these days. Such a shame, used to be a nice place to go

Lovely place to enjoy good food .

Great food (we had the Wednesday pasta/pizza and cocktail offer for £15), and friendly, prompt service. We arrived just as service was ending at 8pm but we were still made to feel welcome and food was fresh and tasty. Price was a bargain for portion size plus a proper Gin cocktail. Highly recommend.

We visited here after reading good reviews… Good things - Great service, Nice toast, tomatoes and hash browns. Bad things - No beans with the full English Old horrible mushrooms (would’ve thrown them away at home) Bacon was really dry (like it had been cooked and kept warm for an hour) The ‘honey glazed sausages’ were bad quality.

We visited the lakeside cafe whilst on holiday , we were a table of 8. 4 adults , 2 toddlers , 2 newborns and we also had the dog. 1 member of our party has coeliac disease and the staff were amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable about cross contamination and what contains gluten. They were easily able to adjust things on the menu to suit. I would strongly recommend the goats cheese and root veg ciabatta it was to die for. Thank you Lakeside x

Great place for lunch. The owner is very accommodating.

We visited this place for the first time today and we're really impressed with such a friendly service and very tasty full breakfast. I think it's a little bit too expensive (about £10 for a breakfast) plus you had to pay extra for hash browns and beans, so it shouldn't be called "full breakfast". That's what you usually pay for the Sunday Roast. Also too long waiting for a food as we had to wait about 40 minutes to get our breakfast and it wasn't too busy inside. But great location by the lake and very clean dogs friendly environment.

Would not recommend went in throu front door my children went throu with my wife one of them made a narky comment of please wait to be seated there was a que of 6 people waiting to pay my children needed toilet one person on a till to busy being nosy what I'm doing I was stood there for few minutes no asked if I wanted a seat so gave up walked out. Useless very judgmental customers and staff

The Lakeside is a great restaurant, we had a large party of 40 and the food and service was excellent , I don't know how they managed it, I would recommend this restaurant. The staff are amazing

Really warm atmosphere, great coffee and cake options, with a wonderful view. Staff were super friendly, and they still sell birdseed!

They serve breakfast til 12am so we rang ahead and booked It was very busy when we arrived but luckily got a booth seat without a wait They also do amazing cakes and pastries to take away Lovely views of the lakes Even though it was super busy the cafe was clean and welcoming Good sized toilets for disabled access Nice outdoor seating area

This place blows my mind. Such fantastic service, incredible food and lovely place to visit. Don't let the 'park cafe' vibe of the exterior fool you (though the coffee and cakes are wonderful) the menu/food style is more like a gastro pub with options for whatever you could fancy. They haven't missed a thing! Been a few times and the roast is the best around, which they managed to serve alongside a normal lunch menu plus lovely specials if you fancy something else. They do great evening events too. Thanks Lakeside, always just what we need xxx

We went on pie night and had the choice of 2 delicious pies from the specials menu. There is also a standard menu, but I usually find specials are the best. Service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere overlooking the lake was very relaxing.

Undoubtedly the best cafe I have had in Newquay Cornwall. Service was bit slow though lol. Good outdoor seating, delicious food. We tried vegan breakfast., item were fresh and tasted absolutely amazing. It's next to lake, which make it more special. Prices are also reasonable. Plenty of free car parking spaces available. If you are visiting Newquay, I definitely recommend this place.

Great place for a full meal or just coffee and cake

This is a real gem! The service is warm and welcoming, the view of the ducks, swans and other water birds on the lake is just beautiful, and the food is delicious, so is the caramel latte 😋 I will definitely be returning, in fact we're booked in for later this week! I highly recommend Lakeside Café for excellent food at affordable prices and great service.

It was my first time visiting Cornwall, and I absolutely love this place. The staff are just so warm and kind. They gave my sister an extra scone :) generous people. Hope this business continues to thrive!

Excellent place for food and a drink the coffee and cake menu was delicious. We had brownie and a coffee and walnut cake with some kids ice cream and cheesy chips. Wonderful friendly staff and a great chilled atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal overlooking the lake. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks 👍

Went in to get a take away coffee for my grandma, brought my dog is as dogs are welcome, the women was very judgemental towards use and rude and the coffee was a rip off, it was the smallest cup I have ever seen, the worst part it tasted rubbish! However the young women who gave us the coffee was lovely!

Wednesday morning. Great service, great hot chocolate, absolutely stunning Pineapple and Ginger Cake, 5* Café, come and walk and then recharge. Booked to return for Saturday evening, waitresses couldn't do enough for us, food was tasty and well cooked, lovely evening meal.

Not for the first time today, staff were incredibly rude to me and later my 8 year old daughter. Having queued for 25 minutes as I finally arrived at the front as my daughter changed her mind on what to drink, the waitress in an extremely bad manner said, "I'm busy, what do you want, food or drink?" I answered "food" to which she replied, "kitchen's closed, it's drinks only and you'll have a 45 minute wait, as we've not enough staff today!" I said can we just have 3 cans of drinks then?" To which he huffed and flounced over to the bar to prepare. A bit later my daughter went in to buy a bag of bird seed and came back in tears as the same lady had shouted at her to wait while she finished chatting with a friend in the cafe. She made her stand there for 5 minutes to then turn and say "no, we're out of bird seed!" All in all they ruined a beautiful day by being truly vile. They allow people to queue to effectively tell them to go away. Poor show!

Excellent restaurant! We visited today for the first time and we were so impressed. Not only was the cake HUGE but it was very reasonably priced and delicious. We were also very impressed with the way the staff dealt with some very challenging customers. We didn't know about the 'Pie night', but we will be returning soon! Thankyou!

Absolutely love it here foods amazing staff are fab , just one criticism don’t buy the bagged up dog treats their all stale not sure how long they have been their but biscuits all soft and chews softer my pup wouldn’t even touch them all went in the bin.

Fantastic little gem. Stummbled across this place and decided to stop for a coffee and cake. The cafe was buzzing had a great feel. Even though it was busy we manage to be seated OK, the fact we had our dog with us wasn't a issue. The service was quick and the coffees and cakes delicious. I can not fault this cafe and would recommend to anyone.

What a lovely place! Had been meaning to visit here for ages and dropped in on impulse today, while driving past. So glad we did. Lovely place to sit for a bite to eat and a drink. Had a plain scone with jam and clotted cream and a nice big pot of proper tea.

Lovely food, very slow service. It is relaxing though so good place to chill.

This was our first visit to this wonderful eatery, and we were very surprised and delighted with what we found, right beside a boating lake as a view!! We arrived just on close of lunch service but were made very welcome just the same, and we just snuck under the wire with our food request too!! What we received was hot, plentiful of portion and good quality, so mental note made to come here again when in the Newquay area again.

Always amazing food, friendly services... no matter what time of day!

We came for breakfast and we’re a bit disappointed. The quality of the ingredients wasn’t the issue, it was how it was served which wasn’t great. My bacon sandwich consisted of half a loaf of bread, some margarine and 2 or 3 bits of bacon. It would have been so much more pleasant to eat with half the amount of bread. We also ordered orange juice but for some reason we’re served orange and mango juice? Which I think must have been a J20 as that was also on the menu. Coffee was pretty bad too, burnt and milk overheated. The service was slow, whilst the venue not being overly busy. The location is lovely though, and the selection of cakes on display looked wonderful.

Local family celebrating my mums bday. Service was rude as we approached middle age lady on till. Food served without cutlery and left to go cold whilst waiting on cutlery and our drinks. Over priced for the 0 quality of food. Having worked hospitality in Newquay for over 30 years, that by far was the worst experience of this year. Staff need training, proper uniforms and customer service and hospitality training. Also to have the till by entrance wasn’t practical as people trying to get in to inside restaurant and to use toilet facilities, along with staff using the same narrow access to serve our food. Poorly managed. And a shame as it used to be a beautiful part of my hometown

Disorganised chaos... arrived to find a sign asking you to wait here to be seated, after being invisible to the staff for over 10 mins we were eventually shown to a table and given some A4 paper menus. The wait wasn't over at this point, after 20 mins we finally were approached and our order was taken, didn't take to long to arrive. My wife and I ordered the cheese and fruit scones that come with pickle and cheese, jam and clotted cream, unfortunately all we got was scones and butter, pointed this out to the waiter who disappeared off to serve other people, after yet another wait we eventually got a different member of staff come over who then went and bought us the missing items. Scones and coffee was lovely but the sevice we had was very poor. Would of been more forgivening with my review if they had been very busy.

We had an excellent meal last night. Food was great and reasonably priced. Steak cooked perfectly. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Loved tye little booth we sat in with comfy seating. We will be back.

Very friendly staff welcomed our group & gave us options for seating as I use a powerchair. They were happy to move furniture about for us. Lovely cake with coffee available during our visit. Dogs welcome & they even have their own ice cream option:)

This place has always been a great place for morning coffee or lunch. Really lovely view and the inside still feels new. The staff are so friendly and keep the place clean and tidy. The cakes are DELICIOUS!! With a great variety. They even have art for sale and duck food to feed the ducks. Great place to meet friends
