What a great place, the menu was diverse, ACTUALLY SOME healthy options, and delicious! You dont see that often in the country inns or pubs. Service was really great, I think they were training a couple of young guys (who were so polite, and so nice) but all the service we received was on point. All 5 of us asking questions and patience is a virtue :)

We were staying close and looked at local places to eat . Walked there the first night in the off chance of a table . Absolutely no problem. Food was amazing so decided to return a couple of nights later . They had lots of reservations but still accommodated us and quicker than anticipated . Again an amazing meal with very friendly staff . I’m gutted it’s not my local

We found this pub on a whim when camping in Cornwall, and it was a fab little gem! Despite parking only being on the road outside, it was still easy to access. We hadn’t booked, but the owner gave us the choice of table and willingly welcomed us. The staff were quite young which was really nice, it’s lovely to see teens getting stuck into some work and gaining some great experience. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, checking in on our food, if we needed any extras and ensuring everything was correct. We had a fabulous time, and if we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely pop in. The food was incredible, fantastic portion sizes and had a lovely homely feel to it.

Food was pretty decent, most of the staff quite welcoming aswell but our two experiences here were ruined by the miserable old man (with glasses) taking the orders behind the counter. If unwelcoming was a word it would be exclusively for him. Maybe some more competition in the area might have been an incentive for him to show an ounce of courtesy, or perhaps not, he seems like an unlikeable person regardless. Or he just doesn’t like tourists or people like us, as he seemed fine being receptive to other customers. If you’re visiting as a tourist, especially if you are a person of colour, I’d suggest giving this place a miss. Unless that old man is on a leave that day, or retires by the time you go, then I think it would be a good experience.

Where do I start? Small village, great campsite, local shop, church spire/tower that you can use as a landmark miles away and a pub. Not just an ordinary pub. Lovely food, Doombar for the hubby (his favourite), walking distance from the campsite. But it's the people who make it. The perfect landlords, wonderful youngsters serving. Place mats children can colour in (crayons provided). I took mine home as a reminder of a happy place. Do yourself a favour and check it out, whether you stay in the area for a short break or passing through. Wonderful 🌟🙌💛.

We recently moved to St Buryan and this was our first visit. Mum is in a wheelchair and we rang ahead to book a table but forgot to say it was a big electric wheelchair!! Steve was not going to back down from the challenge and as we wound our way through the back halls with him going backwards in front of mums chair and me behind. He organised a table that was more accessible and comfortable for mum! His service was second to none, the food was excellent, the staff were all friendly and helpful. We didn’t have dessert this time but will definitely be back another time to try them out but we had starters and main really were excellent. Oh and Steve also had to teach me to use Apple Pay! When we were ready to leave he’d obviously been thinking what was easiest way to help mum and so after a chat with me we decided it was possible to leave by the front door and down 2 steps. The steps are shallow and mums chair is able to deal with kerbs. Once again he led mum out going backwards and what I think was a regular guiding mums chair from the rear, he then went round the back to bring my scooter round to the front for me. Mum has been stuck in our last property just going from bed to chair and chair to bed and this evening was made even more special because of the care and attention we were shown! We can’t recommend them heartily enough!

Firstly, can I say that this is an incredibly well managed establishment. The service was excellent and the waiting staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was of a high standard, the haddock was cooked to perfection and it was very refreshing for my partner who is vegan, to actually have options to choose from, rather than the usual 'make it vegan' which seems to be customary these days. And the range of options generally was very good, with everything from seafood to burgers to pizzas. So good, we've already rebooked for later in the week.

A lovely pub, with exceptional service. My husband and I had a really tasty meal on our first evening in Saint Buryan. They have a good selection of choices on the menu and daily specials, of which we had the dessert. A lovely ambience for evening drinks, tasting the variety of Cornish pints of Beer/larger/cider. Hubby and I stayed at the Airbnb behind the pub. I can't praise the place enough, it's so cute and cleverly planned out. The warm welcome and caring nature from the owners was faultless. We ate at this pub last night after camping nearby. We were a group of 5 (3 adults and 2 children). I can not say a bad word about this place, everything was perfect. We did pre book a table as advised and when we arrived the table was all set and ready for us. All the table and bar staff were really welcoming, friendly and attentive to our needs. Good menu with plenty of choice for all of us. My 2 kids enjoyed sitting and colouring in the place mats whilst we waited for our food, nice little touch. Childrens toys and books readily available so would say this place is very family friendly. The food was absolutely beautiful, all clearly freshly made and tasted amazing. We had the mussels for starter and these were cooked to perfection, even my 5 year old enjoyed eating them and dipping the bread in the sauce. The mains and the desserts were good sized portions, well presented and very well priced for the area. Good beers and ciders available on draught. Would highly recommend people try this place if they are in the area.

After reading the reviews and doing my homework we decided to eat here on our first night on holiday 7 of us for dinner. The pub is a typical picture postcard Cornwall pub, the staff were friendly and attentive but unfortunately the food let it down and we came away feeling that we had been taken for a ride as holiday makers. My wife had the crab salad about £16-17 with next to no crab, one pizza was not cooked and the base was all doughy, my fish pie although quite tasty the prawns were like bullets and hard to chew and my salad was sweating and brown as if been standing for some time. Fortunately this did not appear to be the norm in the area but with a bill of nearly £200 bars and restaurant’s in the area have got to do better for the holidaymakers who have saved for the year and chosen to spend there money In Cornwall which is not a cheap option any more.
