The best restaurants serving British food in England

When we checked into the hotel, one of the receptionists, Connor, recommended this restaurant, so my wife, our little boy, and I decided to give it a try. As soon as we arrived, Ashok warmly welcomed us and thoughtfully found a comfortable sofa seat for our little one. The menu had a great selection, and we decided to go with seafood. We ordered starters and mains, and Ashok also recommended the bread—which turned out to be fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was incredibly professional, and everything was just perfect. A big thank you to the entire team—we’ll definitely be back! And a special thanks to Vitor for checking in on us throughout the meal, making sure everything was just right.

I came here with a good friend of mine on his recommendation. I travelled from Nottingham to treat him to a nice lunch as he is recovering from a full knee replacement. I picked him up and we were shown to a window seat with beautiful views. I ordered the pork cutlet with roast potatoes roasted veg and an amazing gravy. Put simply this is one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time and I drove home very happy. The meat was delicious, the veg was stunning and the roasts amazing. This is a fabulous eating spot with beautiful views and amazing food. I would highly recommend this place for a real treat.

Lovely roast dinner on Easter Sunday at the Horse & Groom. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was excellent, looking forward to visiting again soon

1st time in the pub, we were too late for food but will certainly be back.

first time in cambridge and genuinely the nicest pub i’ve ever visited. the staff were super helpful and friendly and the vibes inside and outside are impeccable. the garden space is small but gets the sun just perfectly. they even had a gluten free pizza base that was surprisingly tasty!! 2-4-1 pizzas on a monday so ended up being super affordable. ashley behind the bar was the sweetest most wholesome person ever and gave us recommendations for pubs/clubs to visit and 10/10 service so thank you ashley !! such a cute location and pub you must visit !!

Had a lovely meal for 6 people today. Food was quick, customised for various dietary requirements, and very tasty. Our waitress was also particularly polite and caring, thank you Georgia!

Lovely catch up with the girls tonight! We meet up here as much as we can, as the food, and the service is always spot on. Hillary and Silvie are fabulous!

Such a shame - Tuesday lunch time, an empty restaurant and despite tables being available we rather keep it empty, as we don’t allow a Well behaved Cocker Spaniel. Hospitality at its finest! I look around Port Isaac and kind of everyone has a dog… and everywhere else it’s busy… I would perhaps suggest to restrict such strict policies for dinner. Anyway… onwards!

We went again yesterday. This time with our son and his family. Julian is the most welcoming host you could wish for. He always finds time to talk about his native Calais, and his knowledge of music from around the world. Thank you for making us feel so special. Elaine and Michael

I had the worst rump stake I have ever had fat and grisly and chewy won't be going back

Extremely good food and very reasonably priced dishes. We ordered 6 dishes for £40. All absolutely amazing. 100% recommended and definitely coming back
