Boston House in Norwich

We had to return as we had such a good experience on our first visit and it was equally fantastic this time. You don't go many places where the food actually makes you smile as it tastes so good! We had the full Tasting menu and Vegetarian tasting menu and loved every minute of it. The salt cod beignet and the venison loin especially stood out for me and my wife loved the Puy lentil & mushroom cottage pie. Service was relaxed and efficient with perfect gaps between the courses and our wine complemented the food perfectly. Cocktails were great too! If you want excellent food and drink with a great and relaxing atmosphere you can't beat Boston House Norwich.

Wow!! We went to Boston house last night and went for the large tasting menu. Absolutely amazing! Everyone was so friendly and the food/wine was exceptional. Thank you for such a great evening. 5 stars isn’t enough.

Had a wonderful time at Boston hours, the staff were so friendly, enchanting atmosphere and most importantly the food was so delicious. We both had the ‘smaller’ tasting menu, I opted for the vegetarian tasting menu which I really appreciated as this can be hard to come by. We left feeling comfortably full, and I would highly recommend! As a side note, if you do wish to opt for the vegetarian tasting menu it’s best that you let Boston House know in advance, for example as a note in your reservation.

Four of us had the 9 course tasting menu and wine flight, the food and wine were all fantastic, every course was delicious and we came away having eaten just the right amount but disappointed it had to end! The service was also great and the background music was great. Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant and think the tasting menu was great value.

Just returned from Sunday Roast at Boston House and it was just perfect. Food and wine equally wonderful. I'm planning our next visit for the A La Carte menu as we speak. If you are looking looking for an excellent, tasty, roast dinner you should definitely book here. It surpasses a pub Sunday Lunch by a mile!

The food was really incredible, and I asked for the wine flight to be altered to a non-alcoholic option which I didn't expect to be several lovely mocktails for each course. This was a truly lovely experience

Our experience was Exceptional the quiet attention to detail in every area of food ambiance service is outstanding. Tim is capable talented and a classy cool dude extremely understated but this restaurant delivers. In short they care and they know how to get everything right. We had our wedding reception and wedding meal here arranged at very short notice having eaten here before. The team are polite fun and unobtrusive. Truly they cared and made the whole wedding lunch look and feel easy relaxed and seamless. It was wonderful. The chocolate fudge wedding cake was delicious and elegantly presented. They thought of everything and even provided boxes in which to put wedding cake for those guests who were too well fed to eat another morsel. Privately run adaptable they are properly in the business of outstanding food, service and atmosphere x cannot wait to go back!

As always, another top quality Sunday Roast and a wonderful chocolate mousse for dessert. Well worth a visit in a relaxed restaurant with very attentive staff.

I know competition for a good meal out in Norwich is fierce but I am baffled how there were so few people here on a Friday evening when the offering is this good. Check this place out next time, instead of sticking with a safe option. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic meal. We are vegetarian and the dishes on offer were really inventive and tasty. Beautifully presented. Lovely service. Young bother (owner and chef) and sister (front of house) team doing a brilliant job. It was quiet when we went but we weren’t uncomfortable. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended. PS one of the best dirty martinis I’ve ever had!

Well. We had travelled for a party from Hertfordshire and wanted some modern cuisine to start our weekend. On arrival, the staff were welcoming and our seating was appropriate for my husbands larger gait! Starters were fantastic and the mains didn't disappoint either. The staff were also really attentive, a welcome change to some fine dining establishments! Dessert and cheese board were sublime. We drank champagne, a mocktail and limoncello. Two double expressos later and we were happily fed and watered. What a special experience!! An unsung Norwich hero we would say, hats off to Chef, Commis Chef and staff. Amazing!! highly recommended x

Great food and wine, set in a lovely restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Flavours were amazing and beautifully presented. It would be easy to highlight any of the dishes but my wife says the biggest shout out has to go to the chocolate torte!

Highly recommend the Sunday roast. The most tender, pink roast beef and crispy roast potatoes. Good selection of interesting starters and desserts. Looking forward to returning to try the tasting menu and cocktail list.

Had an amazing evening at Boston House. If you are looking for top quality food and wines in a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place to go. The waitress was very efficient and friendly. One of our party was gluten free and had a special menu. The bar was open if you just wanted a drink and if you enjoy a Sunday roast, you would love the Boston House roast. They even have a private dining room upstairs if you wish.

Me and my friends visited Boston House three weeks ago and had such a great experience. The food was absolutely devine and the Banoffee Choux Bun is a must. The staff went above and beyond. If you haven’t already been I would definitely recommend a visit. Just to add the decor is amazing.

Bought the £38 3 course set menu, was really looking forward to Roast Beef (+£5 supplement for beef). Only 3 very small slices of beef (+ 3 small shaped roast potatoes) and very little else, No yorkshire pudding, no greens or seasonal veg included, so carrots and greens were an extra £5 each. Cheese board had a £5 supplement which was very underwhelming, again 4 small slices of cheese a small blob of chutney, no grapes no sliced apple. Over priced and pretentious and ending up paying an extra £20 on a set menu for very little extra, won’t be going back. Service was very good

Was walking past to go somewhere else for cocktails, then saw this lovely place and decided to pop in for one , we felt so comfortable sitting on the sofa and the cocktails were amazing so stayed for another four , the staff were very lovely and welcoming, we didn't eat there ( had already eaten) but the menu looked good so will definitely be going back another time , would definitely recommend 😀

You would expect from a top quality restaurant an exceptional and friendly welcome. Friday early evening with an empty restaurant we were met with a cold, uninviting and disinterested staff member who appeared to be not getting on with other staff. We decided to venture elsewhere which is a shame as food the dirty paper menus appeared excellent. Staff training urgently requested.

One of the best meals we have had in Norwich ... Really unique and moderately priced wine list, we ordered the Barbera and it was one of the best wines I have tasted. Dinner consisted of snacks: Beef croquettes, sable biscuit with cheddar custard and delicious homemade bread, warm from the oven. All unbelievably tasty. Followed by starters: Chicken Liver Parfait (so light and fluffy it was like eating a delicious cloud), hearty mushroom and truffle risotto (perfect for autumn and packed with flavour) and a zesty, light stream trout with fennel jam. Mains were pork fillet (I didn't manage to taste this one) and I had the venison, which was so well balanced and cooked to perfection. We had these with equally delicious sides and the black garlic mayo that came with the chips was honestly addictive. We had to have dessert after such a delicious meal. No picture here but I had the plum cheesecake and it didn't disappoint, so delicious and well balanced. The option of a light Petit Fours was great for anyone who doesn't like to have big desserts. The atmosphere was so lovely and calm in the restaurant too, we felt really looked after by Sophie and all the staff. We felt super relaxed and happy to take everything at a slow pace and enjoy the experience. I would highly, highly recommend going and trying Boston House out if you are looking for an affordable but high-end meal out in Norwich.

We walked in to a warm welcome and were immediately shown to our table as requested. The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. All the food was brought out in good time but not rushed. The food itself was excellent, top quality ingredients perfectly cooked. Thankyou

The food was very good and well presented. Service needs improvement with very slow staff but they were very friendly. Unfortunately it was overshadowed by the over priced menu which probably explained why it was so empty on a Friday night. £10 for two bottles of water is simply too much!

We had a delicious Sunday lunch. The starters were absolutely superb. My husband said his chicken liver parfait was one of the best he'd ever had and my mackerel was amazing. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and served with very tasty vegetables. Service was efficient and friendly. The open kitchen has to be one of the quietest we've ever seen. We will definitely be back for Sunday lunch as well as try their normal lunch service. They do what looks like a very interesting tasting menu too.

I had the vegetarian taster menu and it did not disappoint. Beautiful in design and taste and the relaxed atmosphere was great too. Loved the originality or all of the dishes and there were lots of 'wow' moments. The chocolate hazelnut choux bun was knock out. I know we would both definitely recommend. On a side note, these guys are clearly the real deal- even the cocktails are made using home made syrups! The pina colada was a personal favourite made from roasting pineapple skins apparently - amazing level of detail and for the same price as your regular chain restaurant drink.

First time Sunday lunch. The food was amazing, next level although wasn't particularly busy which is a shame. Second time on a Friday night. Bit cold. Air con was on and the day really wasn't hot enough to warrant having air con on. One lady even moved tables twice. Eventually was turned off. Staff were great. Definitely not rude lol. Back to the food. Stunning again. A lot busier. Better atmosphere. Perhaps rum Baba could have been soaked more in rum but still amazing. Not many better restaurants in Norwich so please try it and decide for yourselves..

We have just returned from a lovely evening at Boston House post cinema. The service was excellent, the cocktails delicious, a great wine menu both by the glass or bottle. The food was delicious, pork belly starter, chicken and lemon sole mains with very nice sides of beans and lettuce with walnuts. Rum baba deserts good but could not taste rum. Only real negative was ambience. Turn off some lights and add some candles for a perfect evening.

Rude staff, food wasn't hot at all, unhygenic sanitation and appalling customer service, stay away from this place. 👎🏻

Have we found the best cocktail bar in Norwich? All signs point to Yes!! Decor and atmosphere is relaxed and refined, clean and well presented you can comfortably sit here in formal wear or casual wear without feeling out of place.. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Very knowledgeable and attentive, with signature and classic cocktails available as well as a great selection of wines. The food was delicious, we only stayed for snacks but I’ve no doubt the rest of their food offering is just as excellent.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while we were looking for a nice independent place for a nice dinner. We were instantly drawn by the clean and slick décor. A quick check of the menu and we were sold. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was original. Original and different flavour combinations, and beautiful presentation. Overall it was a lovely place to end the day.

Opened in November 2022 this British restaurant does simple food with a twist. Friendly and welcoming staff, nice decor and great value for money.

What a great addition to the city's food scene. Had a perfectly cooked roast for a very reasonable price. The most tender beef and all the usual trimmings. Went for our 4 year anniversary. We loved it. Food was great and staff were very accommodating. I loved being able to see the kitchen whilst I sat at our table - they were all so calm. Only minor thing is it got noisy as more tables were filled but enjoyed it non the less. We will be back.

We had the most amazing dinner and service at @bostonhousenorwich last night! Will really looked after us as well as Sophie (eye), I think Sophie wins the award of being the most helpful and happiest person to ever take our order and serve us! We will definitely be going back. Norwich really needed a place like this, fine dining in a really chilled environment.
