Family friendly environment with great selection. Tried different waffles. Definitely was not disappointed x

One of my favourite places to eat in the City of Norwich. I've been visiting for many many years and am never disappointed. Everything is amazing. Highly recommend.

This place has been open for many many decades. It's still busy. What better recommendation could it have. My favourite waffle is the avocado and hummus with sweet thai chilli on wholemeal. Their banana milkshake is not to be missed either - it's made so your straw can stand up in the middle. I miss plastic straws. The paper ones go gooey after a while. I'm all for biodegradability, but it would be nice if it didn't start until after I finished my drink.

Came here for a meal after a small wedding and had a great time! The staff were so friendly and accommodating (including the chef who came out to cut the cake for us!) really made the experience great thank you so much.

Norfolk Waffle House has been one of my favourite places to visit for past 25 plus years. It’s a place that once you’ve visited you will go back again and again. Even when I was working overnight in emergency services they would sort out takeaway for me. Amazing staff, delicious food and great atmosphere.

The waffle house once again did not disappoint, crispy waffles, yummy toppings and a really nice friendly team serving what's not to like. Given we were visiting Norwich and only had chance for one meal we just headed direct to the waffle house and we're not disappointed, and will likely do so many more times when we have a chance, highly recommend!

A wonderful place to return to time and time again. Always excellent food and service. What a gem!!

Lovely restaurant, good location not far from St Giles and the Forum car parks, 5 min walk to Theatre Royal, Fabulous menu lots of great vegan and gluten free options. vegan milkshakes savory and sweet waffles were amazing Great staff, food was lovely and delicious Highly recommend

It was great to be able to revisit the Waffle House in Norwich – I first visited the Waffle House more than forty years ago and I do not think the menu has changed much since – all of my favourite items from my original visits were still available. However, I did not think the Norwich location was as good as the St Albans or Harpenden branches, with St Albans (in the old Watermill) being my favourite.

I always forget about this place but I've no idea why, as it's always a consistently excellent experience every time we go. Butter milk fried chicken with blue cheese salad was sublime!

Quite a wait to be seated, which isn't really a problem, but it would have been nice if waiting staff had updated us as they passed numerous times. Say, "Just got to clear a table for you" or "We'll be right with you" and smile. We almost gave up and left, but then just in time, they acknowledged us. Anyway, once settled, the menu was appealing, food came in a timely manner and was delicious. I loved the sweet potato and cauliflower dahl. No room for a sweet one. Next time!

What a wonderful place. The restaurant itself is lovely and welcoming, but the food is truly excellent. While the waffles themselves are delicious, it's all about the toppings. I had Cajun pulled pork and it was out of this world. Can't wait to return and try the sweet options.

Brilliant place to eat. Staff have always been excellent to us, I hope we've been reasonable customers. This week we visited and watched the staff being polite and friendly to a most unreasonable family. They were allowed to book a table as one of their party was in a wheelchair. Booked for 5.00 but didn't turn up until 5.50 by which time the table had to be released to other customers. Wow, did they complain. The brilliant staff stayed calm and found a way to seat the family. Luckily the wheelchair bound member was healed, so walked in. Impressive patience. Waffle House - Wow.

Recently held a staff party here for 24 fellow hospitality workers. We all unanimously said that this establishment was the best Christmas party we’d had in the 10 years we have been holding our team’s Christmas parties. The service was impeccable, food service was prompt, quality commendable & excellent value for money! Thank you to the waffle house!

i reckon it'd take 15 people to man my own waffle house but clearly that number is far too high for my own benefit and needs and could realistically be shortened to a simple 4 or 5 people on at a time in one shift therefore big up the waffles and that yeah yeah cmon my man tellem wagwan

Yummy waffles since they first opened in 1977. Menus possibly more creative these days as we've all developed sophisticated tastes but everything including the atmosphere and friendly service just as good as ever.

One of my favourite places, been coming here ever since I moved to Norwich and every time someone visits from out of town I bring them here. Make sure you come hungry so you'll have room for a savoury and then a sweet waffle. The Bolognese waffle is a must! There might often be a queue but it's well worth the wait.

We had our office Christmas meal here and it was fabulous. Food was amazing and highly recommend a visit. Beautifully decorated room upstairs and the service was excellent. Had seabass for main & the Christmas pudding waffle for dessert. I can honestly say the gingerbread ice-cream was the best thing ever. The whole meal was delicious and we had a lovely festive evening 🎄 thank you 😊

Firstly, the menu wasn’t exactly clear that everything came with a waffle… I ordered the Bacon and Eggs, and I ordered a plain waffle as it made no mention of it coming with one. I ordered a coffee, everyone else had around the cafe had a saucer, but mine didn’t come with one (that, I’m not fussed about) but typically the saucer holds a teaspoon for me to stir my coffee with… but no teaspoon, so had to request one. Also... 30p extra for milk in coffee? Seriously? The other half ordered a Pumpkin spiced latte off the specials menu, and I’m not sure about everyone else, but we expected it to come with coffee in it, like when ordering it at other coffee shops… but nope, no coffee in the Pumpkin spiced latte! It resembled drinking a melted candle with a really strong powerful spiced taste. The overall experience was very disappointing, the only thing I would say, is that we had no issues with the staff, all seemed pleasant and friendly enough.

Love visiting the waffle house, always received amazing food. Tried there chai hot chocolate on our latest visit, and it was so good! Love having a different selection of specials when we visit to try something new. Will forever be their biggest fan of the chocolate mouse waffle.

The food was amazing. Far to large portion size for me, though. I asked if they did a smaller portion/child's size. Yes, they do, but it's smaller topping, not a smaller portion of the waffle. Unfortunately, as I'm strongly against food waste regarding the waffle, I shall refrain from returning.

We come here whenever we visit Norwich. Fantastic value for the kids - and food all 3 generations of our family love. I highly recommend the banana milkshake to accompany your waffle!

Just... extrememly odd? I can respect the creativity it takes to put bolognese sauce on top of a waffle but just why??? The food is fine but im not a fan of the odd combinations.

Quality yet original - second visit to the city of Norwich and this is second visit to this wonderful cafe/restaurant. Between us all we have tasted many of their dishes. All wonderful, cannot recommend enough. Seating is a little tight due to lack of space. But the food is super.

Was looking forward to visiting as had eaten here on my last trip to Norwich and had really enjoyed the experience. However, although the food came quickly, the waffles were a little rubbery. We also asked for water with our meal which didn’t arrive and the glass with my Coke Zero in was a little sticky on the outside. Will not be visiting again.

Celebrating a big birthday with the family, had a long table upstairs. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager & it’s never disappointed. Everyone loved their meals and the out of towners there for the first time loved the amazing choices for savoury waffles, (they were thinking it was just sweet waffles with ice cream😆) Great service, great food, great atmosphere

The vegan waffle and milkshake were truly delicious here. The service was very friendly and facilities clean and tidy. Be aware that toilets are on the first floor via stairs.

We have been coming here since December 1978 & seen many changes but the malt milkshake & wholewheat Bolognese & cheese sauce is a survivor. Some have disappeared - small cheese wholewheat served with salad for one. It was ideal for the smaller appetite - indeed all small waffles have disappeared - if I had one comment it would be please bring them back as not all can manage large.

Always busy, always fresh quality food. I’ve enjoyed the savoury waffles, but the banana waffle wins it for me. Great place

Waffle house is fantastic! Lovely staff and atmosphere. There are many vegetarian and vegan options, you really feel included in the menu and not an afterthought. I had savoury waffles and my partner had sweet ones, both were delicious! Highly recommend.

Never have to wait too long to be seated at busy times. Service is good and quick and reasonable prices. So many different types of sweet and savory waffles.

The Bacon and Eggs had no flavour and the potion size was very poor for being nearly £10. Had to send it back.

They ordered banana bacon, chickpeas, chocolate and salad respectively and said they were delicious😋 The short and happy lunch party is over when saying goodbye Looking forward to seeing you next time #Norwich #day17

Waffles as delicious as we remembered them from our visit 34 years ago. We lived in Northampton on our first visit but are now lucky to call Norfolk our home so this will be the first of many visits. The savoury duck waffle was a taste sensation. I had a plain waffle and Hubby thoroughly enjoyed a spiced fruit waffle. Highly recommend a visit here. Excellent value. Staff very friendly. Prompt, unrushed service.

My first visit to the Waffle House. A charming restaurant over 2 floors which is significantly larger inside that you would expect from the outside. The menu mainly consists of savoury and sweet waffles, perfectly cooked with some delicious recipes. We ordered savoury dishes of Bang bang chicken, crispy duck salad, and sausages in BBQ sauce. They were served and presented to a high quality. Service was friendly, helpful, polite and efficient. The atmosphere was welcoming with some unobtrusive background music and the sound of happy customers. The restaurant was very busy at 1230, being nearly at capacity. Overall a very good experience, will be going again (soon I hope).

We have been visiting this place almost since it opened (47+ years). We find it good value...as long as you like waffles. You can have almost anything on a waffle ... it seems! A few things are available not on a waffle...if you prefer.

The Waffle House has been our go to restaurant for probably 40 years. We’ve had many a Birthday meal and a lot of pre theatre meals. Sadly my husband and I went on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. We both had bolognese, a safe choice. Unfortunately I could not eat it and my husband suffered from a burnt tongue. It was way too spicy. Tasted more like a hot chilli than Bolognese. I queried this with the chef. He wasn’t bothered that we’d had a bad meal and just said it was made with a lot of pepper. That was an understatement! There was no apology or offer of compensation. VERY DISAPPOINTING from such a great establishment. Today, my daughter told me she’d been last night, a Saturday again. She’d had hummus with way too much garlic, which she needed to go to Tesco and buy chewing gum to neutralise. Her partner had the very over spiced sausages and a coleslaw with a kick to it. He suffered acid reflux all night. So, hopefully, it’s just the Saturday chef. If we ever visit again we will be asking to taste the food in future. I’m sorry, but over seasoning the food is just not acceptable. Customers can do that themselves. I sincerely hope this is not going to be the way forward for The Waffle House.

We've eaten there before and it was pleasant. This time, Monday 10th June, we went with friends. The coffees were not very warm. When we told the waitress, she felt a cup but did not say anything. We asked for them to be heated. She took them away and, after a while, gave us hot coffee. After that, she was quite abrupt, putting our food down quite heavily. Also, we were still chewing when our table was cleared! The place was not busy, several empty tables so our seats were not needed.

Delicious, best coffee I’ve ever have and the Belgium chocolate waffle with honey comb was amazing. I’ll definitely come here again :))

Great food if a little mushroom obsessed! Bang bang chicken was very good, as was the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! One thing to note is that they don't always cook the gf waffles in a separate waffle maker so can't always guarantee to be properly gf.

Went for lunch at the waffle house. The food was lovely, friendly staff and good service. Reasonably priced.

Super restaurant, we visit regularly. I come with my husband, friends and family. Lovely staff. My only suggestion would be to let customers know when meals change. For example the biscuit on the dessert or the pickles in the coleslaw.

Brilliant meal. Great venue. University reunion - just as good as when we visited as students - almost 35 years ago! Would highly recommend.

Can't fault our recent visit to the Waffle House! Wednesday evening, but by no means empty so the staff were busy looking after everyone. The special i had my eye on was sold out, but I had a bit of advice from staff, and I found a similar alternative. We had a meaty main and a veggie main, and we both had mousse desserts. It was lush! Great staff great food. You can't book, so if you turn up and there's no table available - I recommend you wait!!

I think this is one of the perfect places to have breakfast in Norwich. The like how they combine a waffle with everything, and all of them taste a lot better than I expected. Do not judge the portion from the photos, they are bigger than you think. I also ordered the honeycomb smoothie. I was too sweet for me but it is good though.

I haven’t been here for quite some time but was pleased I did. My meal was lovely, we both decided on the waffle with mushrooms, garlic and cheese sauce and for dessert the biscoff cheesecake. It was one of the tastiest meals I have had in a long time. So pleased my friend suggested going there.

Yet another brilliant meal. We have been coming over 45 years (every since I was little) and we have never had a bad meal. Great prices, beautiful cooked, fresh food and friendly staff. By far the best place to eat in Norwich.

I was in Norwich for couple of days from London to see a close friend. My friend knows I like Hugh Jackman so she suggested to come and check this place out on late Monday afternoon. I had the plain waffle with Vanilla ice cream and toffee and she had the fruity cherry waffle. Cute place to visit if you are in Norwich, nice atmosphere and lovely staff especially Anna who served us, she was attentive and helpful. The ground floor was full so we went upstairs which was lovely. Thank you Anna and the team for a good time. I will definitely return in my next visit xxx

Great if you have a party as they don't mind the noise and look after you amazingly. We were upstairs next door. My #vegan milkshake was divine. My vegan waffle was dry. Note to self ask for maple syrup next time. My partner doesn't like waffles so enjoyed his rice. The servers never stopped 👊

Very friendly staff at The Waffle House, who were very patient with our kids whilst they decided what to have. Most of us went for the mini egg waffle special which was fabulous!

Use to go a lot when I was younger, but it didnt live up to the memories I had. I had bolognaise and it was ok but nothing special. There wasn’t many veggie options to choose from and my girlfriend ended up with a vegan dish where the sauce was very rich and overpowering and vegan sausages she didn’t like. But the milkshakes were really good.

Reliably good tradition to visit here. Something a bit lost by being sat upstairs, it’s light and airy for sure but not quite the waffle house ‘experience’. Service can be a bit slow too…prob the stairs! But food is good

Amazing waffle house with both savoury and sweet options to satisfy both cravings! Cheese waffles with more cheese and beans was THE BEST THING. I would have this every day if I could. The chocolate honeycomb waffle wasn't too sickly sweet which as great. Staff here are fab too.
