Not Just Sundaes Community Cafe in Purbeck

I was at a veterans breakfast meeting, great food and a good time had by all that attended.

Used to be so much better. Changed the layout so the toys are squashed at the back and up high so kids can't reach. Was much better when the sofas were around the toys. Tables are all for 6 people so have to share if only a few of you. Service is very slow 🐌 took 30mins to take our order of 2 drinks and another 30 mins to bring them over. Food portions are generous and pricing is cheap. With a new layout and smaller tables it could make so much more money. Lots of people walk out as they don't want to share tables with strangers

Great service. We love the Salt Pig breakfast. We (Purnet) hire the place once a fortnight for a business networking meeting. The Salt Pig brings us breakfast. It's a great venue for this.

NOT JUST SUNDAES 🚼 We travelled 11miles gave our money to the carpark got there the gates were locked on Google they were open. On the first day of our holiday we decided to try again travelled 11 miles arrived gave our money to the carpark walked inside waited eventually a woman came to the counter and she said we are closed like we should know it's closed. We are shut till eleven no sign on the door to tell customers they were closed for mother's only breast feeding babies. That was our second trip there was nothing online to say they were closed for an event. Drink and food denied we won't be trying this place for a third time. I thought a cafe was a place serving light meals and drinks our breakfast was called off for breastfeeding club. Not just anyday's

Great place for coffee and a panini. We were out walking in Wareham, by the quay, and came across this cafe. Very friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable. If I lived nearby it would be a regular stop. Keep up the good work.

Popped in under an hour before they were due to close, was greeted very warmly and staff were exceedingly friendly and welcoming. Went for ploughman's and paninis plus pots of dorset tea - was outstanding. All food was delicious and of course with money going to such a good cause it makes it an even more delightful choice!

An excellent atmosphere superb food lovely volunteer staff a great local gem "the best kept secret in Wareham". Set in a lovely old church, keeping with the old style of the town full of all mod cons inside enjoy a coffee/tea or lunch or more the greatest place to chill and relax in Wareham bar non.

Nice place, found by accident, with lots of potential. We wanted an afternoon tea, or cuppa, cakes and sandwich. Place looked nice, but welcome was not warm. Staff were abrupt, rude, and unknowledgeable, and then they didn't have anything available. But as it is a community cafe and we wanted to support them, so we decided to buy an Ice cream. A mistake! The woman serving was unable to even do that without making a commotion and a mess. One ice cream was just a blob of brown goo. The other assistant was even less useful.Shame really, they let themselves down. We were hugely disappointed, would not recommend to others.

Whilst walking around Wareham on a damp and drizzly Friday we, me & my dog, were welcomed into this innovative establsihment with a warm greeting and welcome smile.The prices in the cafe were very reasonable, the coffee good, clean well-maintained toilets ... & a proper community. There was a group of ladies (with their dogs under the table) with knitting needles & patterns at the ready, a family with youngsters on the sofa, a couple of mature people & me & my dog.The really interesting thing they do in this cafe is for customers to buy 'a suspended coffee' - so those that can afford an extra cuppa can then donate the extra cup to someone who really NEEDS that drink when they really NEED it. Bravo to whomever came up with that idea? Brilliant. We bought an extra cuppa (it really wasn't expensive - in fact it was cheap compared with other cafes in Dorset).I will certainly be supporting this cause in the future and recommend the cafe in the highest terms to anyone in Warehasm or the surrounding areas.Keep up the good work and the warmest welcome to everyone.

We received a very warm friendly welcome from the lady’s running the Cafe.They were quick to inform us on hearing the discussion about Jacket Potatoes, they only had one left so Hubby quickly said Yes Please!Our food and drinks arrived quickly and was piping hot and looked very appetising ... it was tasty too!We will certainly use this place as our “go to place” whenever we are in Wareham.It was nice the staff didn’t rush you out the door once you had finished eating.

Lovely place with very friendly staff. Converted old church building in very cozy decor. Staff couldn't do enough for us and the cakes were home made, delicious. Great idea if a pass it on kitty. Basically as an option you can add the cost of a drink or soup to your bill. Then if a person in need comes in they can ask for a drink for free. Very socially minded concept. But dont get me wrong it was not full of down and out at all. Just a beautiful idea in beautiful setting.

Needed a coffee and somewhere dog friendly to sit out of the wind so this was absolutely perfect. As with most community cafes the staff are volunteers and we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome. The former church has been sensitively converted to a modern cafe space without losing its essential character. There's table service and the small menu provides plenty of choice for a snack or light bite. The cheese scones were lovely. All in all a little gem of a place.

Unusual place for a good cup of coffee. Food looked lovely. Bit pricey for a small piece of cake. Interesting history of the church.

Food was great and well presented . The old church is clean with soft music in the background. A jug of fresh water was available which was placed over the old font to which made me chuckle. Staff are very friendly.

We needed a quick lunch before a meeting, We received a warm welcome. friendly service and service at the table.

Warm, friendly and a wonderful atmosphere.. great for meeting up with friends or a quick stop whilst shopping.

A hidden gem - good coffee and cake in a beautifully restored 14th cent chapel. Friendly staff and even Ella FitzGerald on the playlist. From the slightly unprepossessing entrance you can't see the interior but don't be put off: it's well worth going in.

Amazing cafe, limited menu but great food. Lovely setting in the church. Lovely ethics too, volunteers supporting the local community. Love the idea that you can pay for soup or coffee for somebody who may not be able to afford a drink and or some food. Would definitely recommend a visit

I loved the setting of this cafe, the menu is simple but delicious with lots of choice. The staff were so lovely and attentive and a real credit to the place.

I use this cafe to meet clients. It is within a church and the building is beautiful. The staff are lovely and helpful. Although I only ever have drinks, the food always smells and looks amazing. The customers that eat tell me it tastes as good as it looks. They employ some people from the community with disabilities who are amazing at their jobs. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is right next to the river and within the town. It is cash only so make sure you have cash not cards. All in all a great little place worth visiting.

Lovely place. Dogs welcomed and given their own biccies! They catered for all our dietary needs, and that is saying something!

This community cafe serves delicious cake and coffee. We had cheese scones as well, all were excellent. The Raspberry and Lemon cake was so delicious we took some home too. Lovely staff, quiet and calming atmosphere with great food and drinks. Recommended

We had morning tea and cake at this lovely cafe. The marmalade cake was really excellent, but much more than that, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The lady who served us knew everyone who came in, the space was welcoming, and it was a joy to visit. Much better than going to the normal standard coffee shop you find in every town.

Very friendly service at this wonderful cafe located opposite the library in Wareham. They also do a great breakfast on a a Saturday morning.

Had a fabulous Christmas lunch on Friday with my crafty friends - knit and natter group.

This was the second time of visiting this community cafe and we were even more impressed. Recently reopened after some refurbishment. The setting is in the old Trinity church which is airy, bright and very comfortable, especially with the long array of leather sofas under the main window. The staff who are Mostly volunteers work with disadvantaged young people in this cafe, the ladies were charming, friendly and proud of there community cafe.

was expensive for the poor quality, would rather ate at home with 100% quality. Nice surroundings, but we didn't go there for that.

We booked this cafe for the afternoon to hold a funeral tea and we found the staff to be very accommodating. Helen and the team closed the cafe for the afternoon and put on a lovely spread.

Dudo si los constructores de esta iglesia convertida norman jamás había soñado que 900 años después aún sería utilizado, pero para un propósito completamente diferente. Este es un gran proyecto que merece ser bien administrado, aunque que estaba lejos de vacío cuando la visitamos. El almuerzo es bastante estándar: ensaladas, paninis y similares, pero es de buena calidad y excelente relación calidad-precio. Una iniciativa original caritativas que hubiera aprobado los ocupantes es la idea de "virtual" de café y sopas. Comprar uno, pero no es dado a ti, pero poner en suspensión. Si alguien viene en menos afortunados, entonces si hay tales "cafés" de repuesto pueden preguntar por ellas. Una gran idea.

Acabo de pasar un par de días de trabajo alrededor de Wareham y castillo Corfe. Yo había oído hablar de este café de amigos en Somerset, así que le dimos una oportunidad y luego volvimos.

Visitamos este deliciosamente iglesia convertida en un viaje corto a Wareham en Semana Santa. Disfrutamos de paninis y cremas encantador de hielo a precios muy razonables. La ciudad en sí no es corto de sitios para comer, pero este fue un gran Tripadvisor encontrar bien vale la pena.

Resultó ta para ayudar a encontrar una parada de café en Wareham. Como de costumbre, resultamos ganamos otra vez! Personal amable en un entorno encantador, además de un interesante sistema de "suspendida" de café que le permite pagar por una bebida que luego puede ofrecerse gratuitamente a cualquiera en necesidad. Abierto a posibles abusos, pero estoy seguro de que funciona realmente bien. Sin duda volveremos.

The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and much cheaper then restaurants / tea rooms in Wareham. It is a community café and registered charity and deserves to be supported.

Poca casa que pensé que iba a pasar por este lugar (normalmente a pie). Es un tesoro dentro. Convertido bonita iglesia. Personal amable y una comida riquísima. Mi hija de 3 años tenía el bocadillo de los niños y refresco. Muy buena relación calidad-precio y mucho para ella! Gran café y ensalada. Sin duda volveremos.

Gorgeous breakfast with locally sourced sausages and bacon (Curtis butchers) and a fantastic home made hash brown. Great service and a real community feel all in aid of a good cause. Lovely location being set in the historic Holy Trinity church.

Bright, cheery décor and relaxed happy atmosphere. Superb coffee and excellent efficient an cheerful service. Will go again. Lunch food menu looks super, and the cake on display at the coffee counter looked especially good.

Pequeño café, que también perros! Nos encontramos con este pequeño y encantador café que también es dirigido por una caridad. Gran bienvenida, comida y servicio. El café/sopa suspendida es una gran idea y simplemente agrega algo a la comunidad. Estamos a sólo lamentamos que encontramos en el último día de nuestras vacaciones!

Por casualidad pasó por un hermoso edificio con personal encantador y amable. Muy espaciosa en la que había sido un problema, así que muchas veces estas vacaciones con mis tres hijos. Zona de niños en la parte trasera, con asientos cómodos y juguetes. Primera vez en todas las vacaciones me sentí muy relajado. También metimos volver esta mañana para el desayuno. Ingredientes encantadora muy fresco. Completamente diferente, pero aún así como personal encantador y amable como antes. Ojalá hubiera encontrado antes... También una gran relación calidad-precio. Me encantaría un menú más grande y más horas de apertura sólo porque es tan preciosa

Mi esposa y yo encontramos este hermoso pequeño café por accidente mientras se espera para kayak en el río con nuestros 3 hijos. El café en sí está dentro de una vieja iglesia y es muy espaciosa, tranquila y relajante. Nos sentamos en un sofá en la parte trasera con los juguetes de los niños y el personal hizo un alboroto de nuestros 9 meses. El lugar tenía tal impacto en nosotros que volvimos para el desayuno el día que nos íbamos. Recomiendo el desayuno inglés completo, así como la Rueda de 'Wareham' como una particularmente pegajoso y enfermizo capricho para los niños (aunque tal vez tienen más tarde de las 09:45 de la mañana, como nosotros!!).

I love coming here for treats with the kids when it is open, the kids love the milkshakes and the space and I enjoy a nice relaxing coffee. Never 100% sure when it is open though, but I believe this is voluntary run so understandable.

'No sólo helados 'excelente pequeño café comunidad situada en un viejo edificio convertido la iglesia cerca del puente de wareham. Convertido con los muros de piedra originales, pero con una decoración luminosa y moderna, atractiva, el café ofrece refrigerios y comidas ligeras en un ambiente muy agradable. Recién producidos, y unas excelentes así pasteles! El café es dirigido por una comunidad de la iglesia y sirve también de la comunidad. Los precios son muy razonables y el personal es muy amable y servicial.

Tuvimos un desayuno inglés que era fresco y no grasienta. Mi novio me hubiera gustado la opción de un desayuno más grande era un poco pequeña para sus apetitos más grandes. El café era agradable, aunque me pareció un poco extraño/irritante cuando otros clientes sentado en el extremo de la mesa.

Wareham is hardly short of good cafes, but this one is exceptional. A very relaxing and tasteful refurb of an old church serving light meals and excellent ice cream. Run by community volunteers, any profit ends back in the community.
