Visited for the first time this week for breakfast. The atmosphere is so lovely and the cafe is really quaint, 2 hours free parking in the car park nearby. The pancakes were incredible and the coffee was really lovely too, the staff are so friendly and the food was cook fresh and came quickly. Will definitely be returning. Very well priced too! Returned for breakfast again today, still as good as the first time! And kids eat for £1 on a Saturday!

Beautiful breakfast for both me and my wife. Coffee was amazing (Owens coffee beans) I had to ask what it was because it was so nice. All the ladies working there were really nice and it was warm and welcoming. Shame we’re about to move house because this place has so much on offer, not just breakfasts. I was surprised it had a bar and ran quiz nights and cocktail nights etc. I’m sure we’ll squeeze in another visit before moving.

Visited 03Feb for a bacon and sausage bloomer after hearing the cafe had re-opened for takeaway's under new ownership. Staff friendly and welcoming. The bacon was fatty and undercooked, the sausage was chewy, pale in colour and difficult to bite through. The bread was normal sliced bread and not a bloomer. The sandwich served with napkins was really difficult to eat as the sandwich was falling apart. Served in a brown bag which leaked grease. A really disappointing first and only visit.

Visited this little cafe for lunch. The welcome was friendly, discreet music comes from the kitchen (the chef joined in once, briefly!) There is a regular menu of snacks, sandwiches, panini, omelettes etc. but we chose the chicken casserole main and apple crumble dessert from the specials board. Both were excellent, really tasty. Wine is a choice of one red or one white but both are excellent and not overpriced. Service was very good, considering that the food is fresh & cooked to order, & very friendly.

Walked in at 915hrs (they open at nine), was the first one in and was told that if I wanted anything I would have to wait because they had only just got in. I thought I would look at the breakfast menu anyway and was handed a piece of paper with about 5 things typed on it so I thought I would just order a bacon sandwich and wait. I was then told in a rude way that if I only had a £20 note I would have to go and get change. I was then told that it is their first day back after their weekend so I couldn't expect them to be ready. Personally if it says open at 9 that means you are ready to serve at nine. Rude abrupt and although I only live down the road they will not be getting my business again. HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS????

Not as pretentious or complex as when we last came about five years ago. Now predominantly light lunches. Friendly, welcoming, maybe a bit folksy. We came with my ageing parents now both in their nineties and they enjoyed the a panino each but we also had ham and cheese in toast and a pastrami sandwich. My son enjoyed the beef and especially the blood orange San Pelligrano drink. Good to see this place survives and seems to be thriving in Elburton where the other eat in food options are uninspiring. We had a most enjoyable meal at the Lemon Tree. It was for a party of eleven of us and was meze style. It was a most enjoyable experience where conversation flowed while various plates of the most delicious food was brought out over a two hour period. There were olives, houmous, tzazici, warm pitta bread, tiny grilled peppers, carrots done with spice, pork skewers and what seemed like loads more followed by fresh fruit & the most divine lemon posit. I wish there had been more of that. You have to book for an evening meal & have a party of 10 or more but it is well worth gathering all your friends/relations together for a most wonderful experience.

I visited this venue following a recommendation from a trusted friend. I am pleased to report that my trust in her is well paced! On a rainy March lunchtime, I was in need of a light lunch between visits to sick relatives. I was with my wife and her elderly aunt. As we had to pass through Elburton we stopped here remembering that there is a free car park just a few steps away.First impressions are everything and we walked in to find that the place was buzzing with three groups of friends already enjoying lunch and shooting the breeze. The decor is simple with a chalkboard for specials. I loved the tablecloths which I was told come from Peru. They paint splashes of colour throughout the cafe. For our light lunch, aunt had the soup, while my wife and I had croque monsieur. We shared a caramel and chocolate torte rounded off by coffees. Service was friendly and efficient and we were made to feel very welcome which isn't always the case in small establishments. We will definitely be back here.

Sometimes you want to eat a nice lunch or enjoy a relaxing cappuccino without the hassle of traffic and parking. If you live in the Elburton/Plymstock area, you're in luck because you can go to the Lemon Tree and find what you're looking for. I had lunch there on a Saturday in February with my sisters; we make it a regular get-together, a chance to chat and relax over a tasty light meal. I had chicken Caesar salad and my sister had a delicious home-made pea soup with plenty of bread and butter. Desserts are also always home-made and very tempting. The food generally is well presented and unfussy, with daily specials as well as the usual lunchtime staples. Prices are good given that everything is made fresh and with attention to detail - the pea soup had a crispy bacon garnish for example. The coffee is also good and locally sourced.Places like the Lemon Tree are a fantastic local resource and it was gratifying to see it busy and buzzing on the Saturday I visited. I also like to pop in for a morning coffee and a read of the papers, and I feel lucky to have a place like this virtually on my doorstep. It provides a focus for the local community, is small enough to be personal if that's what you want and it's always good to see how hard work can be rewarded by well-deserved success.

We saw it here, heard some people mention it and also noted it as lesser recommendation in the last two or three editions of the Good Food Guide. It was worth a try. But when we got there it just wasn't really something we felt comfortable with or could enjoy. There are only three or four tables. The service and ambience are homely and suburban. We felt a little patronised although not in a snooty way. The food was fairly well done but neither special nor particularly tasty. Add in the unfortunate position in elburton village and the all round experience lacks. It needs bigger premises and a better menu which would enable the chef to come up to speed and the customers a reasonable experience. We didn't enjoy any feature enough to come back.

Very small (17 to 25 covers) owned and run by a great chef & his wife. Fine food, friendly service.

Staying in a small guest house stood the corner, on the for breakfast and stumbled across this cafe. Food was freshly made, fresh cakes and delicious. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, so much so that e returned the next day before going home. We will most definitely return next time we are in Plymouth.
