I have been to this Pub many times now and can’t express how this place draws you back to the lovely owners Neal and Clare along with the exceptional staff they have, Kirsty, Eloise, Chloe and Pearl and Chefs. The rooms on the top floor have a small balcony to look across the river Tamar and watch the activity going on, these rooms are spacious with large very comfortable beds and beautiful light oak furniture, plus a good selection of tea and coffee facilities. The food goes beyond what most pubs offer and a lot of it is home made. An ideal weekend stay or longer with many places around to visit.

We stayed here twice once in Sept and again in Oct. Great location - our bedrooms overlooed the river Tamar. The room was large with walk in shower. We had breakfast & dinner - food was excellent. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Parking wasn't a problem with on & off road parking available. We would stay there again if we catch the ferry from Plymouth again.

Another fantastic stay at The Ferry House Inn, Claire and Ian are so friendly as are the rest of the staff. We stayed Friday to Monday while visiting family. Breakfasts there is a good choice and they serve food every day as well, but you definitely need to book as the food is great. Sunday night is quiz night and the locals do make you feel at home, apologies to the lady on Ian's team, didn't get your name but had a lovely chat. Cupcake aka Jason had mad a delicious 3 tier orange cake covered in butter cream, and I came away with a handy tip to make sponges lighter, Lidl's own clover butter. Thanks Cupcake, will give that a go. Can't wait to be back in March, see you all soon.

Went for a birthday party and stayed here, £98, the Inn said there was free parking, well it was, outside on the road if you could get a space, lovely bed, clean white and fresh, shower really good, no fridge, there was a wardrobe, one stool, could not figure out how to put the bed side lamps on, lovely view, we getting ready to go, then all of a sudden, a very light tap on the door, then this guy unlocked our door and said oops sorry, this was my room, but bar staff were very busy and he could not ask which room he had, not very good, he should have stayed there until the staff could see to him, as we always lock our room door, but a bit worrying that this person unlocked our door, as he still had the key, anyway had breakfast, which was okay, two pieces of brown toast, one was badly burnt, l nor my partner ate the burnt one.

Usually the food here has always been good, sadly yesterday I cannot say the same, Cheese Omelette and salad, about £12, salad was mostly lettuce, and an omelette the size of a tea plate, soggy in the middle, crisp on the outside, tasteless, thrown on a plate, my friend had a plain omelette with chips, frozen chips, mostly black( bad not burnt) and an excuse for an omelette, really? what has happened here? I wont be going back again which is a shame, the staff were lovely.

Been a favourite of mine for many years but the last few times visited have become disappointing. The standards in food quality, cooking and portions have definately dropped. I know everyone is watching pennies, I get costs have gone up... but the price of a salad is shocking (especially the most bring one in existsnce)! Served in a pasta bowl with 4 tiny squares of thinly cut ham and the requested extra of brie... little skimpy squares. There was nothing inspiring about this dish. Bring back the ploughman's of a couple years ago...and preferably the chef as well. Ps I gave it 3 instead of 1 for effort purely on account of the view

Visited with friends for a drink and an afternoon meal. Really good location and the staff are very friendly. The food however, disappointed all of us. We all got steaks (different ones) and they were all really bad. Mostly cooked as requested but there was a really bad smell in all steaks, almost like you could smell the barn itself. All other items on the plates were perfect. Please check your suppliers as it’s really a shame, your place deserves a lot better!!

Attended for food on a lovely Saturday afternoon, as we as a family have been here before usually pretty good food but this time around I order the mixed grill and it was the worst I have ever had. I couldn’t tell which meat was what as they all looked the same, basically they all looked anaemic, the whole plate was swimming in oil, the steak literally looked white, if you can call it a steak. Overall not impressed this time around and doubt we will return.

This is our favourite place. We didn’t book a table for lunch and it was busy as we expected but we did get in. We both chose baguettes. Mine was the gammon ham and cheese which was served warm, and the cheese had melted which was very scrumptious and was probably the best baguette I’ve ever had. Cliff had a prawn baguette which was filled with moist prawns in a Marie sauce which he thoroughly enjoyed. We had a portion of chips and we could just about manage a pudding between us. We chose the jam sponge pudding with custard which we have had before. This dessert melts in the mouth and we did see that they are doing a sticky toffee sponge pudding and also a chocolate version which we can’t wait to try when we are visiting at the end of February.

What a Hidden Treasure . Really nice welcome when we arrived . we were early so asked if we could have lunch while we waited for book in . nothing was too much trouble , the laughter coming from the kitchen was infectious and when our food arrived it was delicious. The room had such a lovely view of the Tamar Bridge . and so quiet couldn’t hear any road noise at all . the people outside the pub itself in the evening chatting didn’t stay outside late so wasn’t noisy at all . we had a wonderful time . I am a cleaner myself and always strip the bed apon leaving including liners and have to say the pillows and bed were almost spotless . We will defiantly be returning thank-you so much for such a lovely stay . my only criticism is perhaps and extractor fan or some sort might be good in the bathroom , as there is some mould but could just be because your such an old building and right next to the river . I always scrub with bicarbonate of soda and lemon , if that fails neat bleach . i highly recommend this place nothing was too much trouble will defiantly return . Service both at the bar and from kitchen was fast and friendly. All but one of our foursome had the Friday evening special beer battered fish with chips, mushy pees and homemade tartar sauce. Good portion of fish with a very light but tasty batter. Pub a good choice of beers etc including Devon Red cider on draught. will definitely return to try the pie night

Booked here to eat on a sunny evening, which is highly recommended if you can get here a little early to enjoy the outside seating area right on the edge of the water.

Went on a Friday evening, and had both specials ( cod in a beer battered batter, and raspberry pavlova ice cream, the service was excellent and the food was not bad, I would say average, but give it 4 stars considering 2 drinks 2 main meals and 2 desserts for just over £30.

The couple who own this pub work really hard. The menu is very varied and the food is tasty especially the roast dinner on a Sunday. It's best to reserve a table as it can be very popular. Good value for money. There are picturesque views across from the pub and tables outside where you can sit and have food and drink if you want to.

The staff were extremely helpful. Steve the Chef even went as far as to bring my daughter Marmite from home as she hadn't eaten any since she was a child. The room was excellent and comfortable and the view was great. The food was definitely home cooked fresh and always amazing.

Tim

Just what a pub used to be,serving beer and people having conversations without the loud drone of sports echoing in your ears. Obviously Saturday nights , when the students are in, is not the same however we were all young once!

I was in Plymouth and visited the Blue Peter to watch the football on TNT Sports. I didn't have high expectations after reading previous reviews BUT was pleasantly surprised. The new owners are putting a lot of effort into revamping the premises and I watched the TV in the newly decorated lounge area which was very comfortable. The manager and owner were both present and very friendly and welcoming. They hadn't started doing food when I visited but I think that's coming. Don't be put off by older reviews: the times that are a'changing!
