The best pasties in Plymouth that I've had & I've tried alot of pasty shops since living here 12 years. The owner always has a smile for you too. Lovely place.

I’m gluten free but not coeliac so I’m not that restricted in regards cross contamination so the owner was very accommodating and helpful towards my dietary needs. Would recommend.

Pasties are ok. Sausage rolls for the children the sausage was white/yellow in colour and they didnt eat them all. I ordered a large, and my wife had a medium. It was hard to tell which one was which. Tasty enough, but the price was for a premium and i was still hungry afterwards. Oggys is accross the road and will get our business next time.

Quaint little pasty shop, friendly staff who care about allergies and cater for them. Gluten free and vegan pasties available, and they taste amazing!!

We visited the Barbican Pasty Company shop for the first time yesterday and so glad we did. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming, we ordered 1 chicken and leek, 2 veggies and a sausage roll, all freshly made, hot , moist with great pastry. Will diffenatley recommend and return.

Had to visit as is usual on our yearly pilgrimage to the Barbican & Hoe. Two eating sessions and once again fantastic, straight out of the oven and yummy.

Amazing pasty served by a very cheerful and friendly owner. Had the stilton cheese and steak pasty and my only regret was not going back for another...absolutely delicious!

Wow, best pasties in town. I pretty much tried them all and these guys have it nailed. The full range was great. We ended up going back for frozen ones to take back home with us. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Usually my favourite but disappointed today ordering a Steak and Ale pasty only to bite in to it after I’d left and find it had Stilton cheese in, still can’t get the taste out my mouth 🙁 easy mistake I know on a busy day but has put me off!!

A friendly service business! The kind women was so concerned about my mother who tripped going down the small steps! The steps are very dodgy and dangerous! They need to fix the problem with the steps! WARNING TO ALL NEW CUSTOMERS ABOUT THAT!! But overall we brought some new pasties! They wanted to know what type of cooking method we used! They recommended to us how to cook them a lot more better in order for them to taste very delicious! One of the women also wrote some instructions on the bag in order to remind us the best way of cooking the food perfectly in order to taste amazing!! Highly recommended this company to all! We will definitely be coming back!!!!!

My sister who lives in Plymouth told me that one of the traditional dishes of the south is the Cornish Pasty and she recommended that I should try it to see if I liked it. I decided to go with my nephew to taste it and we first visited this place where we ordered the medium traditional stake Cornish Pasty. Then we went to a couple of other places and ordered the same dish. I would like to share with you that this store has the best, cheapest, tastiest and freshest that we have eaten of those that we tried so I will come back for sure and highly recommend you this place.

Brought three pasties mid-morning. They were obviously from the previous day as they were dried up and tasteless!!!

Awesome pasties, maybe the best I ever had!

I have eaten twice here and found that the pasties here are one of the better than other in the city center or surroundings. I have had the traditional and vegan, but the veggie and sausage rolls are also very good. Service was a tad chaotic and stressful, but worth it for a pastie straight out the oven!

Had a regular size traditional pasty and it was excellent in all aspects. I agree with a previous review about the amount of steak/ meat being less than some others but it is definitely an excellent product. Good taste but not too spicy like some others do. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

The younger members of staff are encouraged to wear almost workout gymnasium outfits which do not give credit to the shop and I'm sure are rather unattractive to older people enjoying a coffee or something to eat and I think a uniform is more appropriate, but with the younger members it doesn't seem to be adhere to and the clothing in my opinion is inappropriate and rather rude

We had no idea that this little shop was there, but after some delicious cocktails at the Plymouth Gin distillery, and before our next drive into Cornwall we were very pleased to see the variety of pasties to be had in this little shop. We selected one of their delicious vegetarian options, and our friends the classic Cornish pasty. Strongly recommended!

We always like to try more local pasties than the bigger shops but this was really good - lots of choice and some random ones too! Worth a visit

Visited on Saturday, ordered a gluten free vegan vegetable curry pasty due to having coeliac disease, a dairy allergy and being vegan for the last 4 years, absolutely furious when I bit into a cheese and onion pasty, never will I visit again or recommend anyone else do. It's not hard to use your eyes and look at what your putting into the oven, these are all packaged separately and frozen so warmed to order. Not thrilled at potentially being ill for the night because of someone's incompetence. Absolutely disaster of an experience.

Probably the nicest vegan pasty I have had, beautiful pastry and filling. Lovely lady serving - very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return

With a friendly face and great traditional food to eat in or take away Tania and family do a great job at promoting Plymouth and the Barbican. Take a break and eat in South Side street. Tasty, Tasty, Very Very Tasty,. Its Very Tasty.

I went to the store two weeks ago because I was curious about the famous Cornish pasties. A friend of mine that lived here for more than 30 years had strongly advice me to go to this place to get the "true taste of the Southwest". I bought the normal one and also the vegetarian option. Both of them were brilliant and tasty. They not only looked great but tasted even better ! The lady in the staff was quite charming and nice to me when I ordered and paid, which made the experience extremely nice. In conclusion I advice anyone to go there to try some! ( Also, the store is easy to spot on because is painted in bright green)

This is a good pasty, a bit smaller than you would expect to get further west for the price and description (this large I would consider a medium). Could do with slightly more steak, especially in the centre and I personally prefer a bit more pepper but that's personal taste. The service was top notch, friendly and swift. Overall a good job but not quite 5⭐ for me

By far these were the best pasties ever. No wonder she was running out early. Lovely lady with a great Devon burr. Had one every day. Do not tell my priest as I am not supposed to eat meat on a Friday.

The best! I had myself a couple of vegetable pasties during my week away and a scrumptious sausage roll too. The service was with a smile and all staff I was served by were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was immense and was served warm which is an absolute bonus

There is nothing better than getting one of these delicious pasties, made on the premises, hot, scrumptious; and taking it over to the Dolphin pub who are more than happy for you to sit down with your favourite tipple and eat it there. Yum

Amazing pasties. Had steak pasties on first day down here for weekend and came back on last day for one and take home another two for the Mrs and my packed lunch tomorrow! Ice cream also wonderful. Scoop of Salted Caramel and a scoop of mint choc chip! Yum!

So this is a real Cornish pasty! We had the original pasties here. They were very tasty and satisfying. Perfect in fact. The filling was seasoned just right and the pastry excellent, not greasy at all. Our kids tried different flavours and said they were delicious. Can’t wait to try again!

Found this little pasty shop. Great for a drink and a pasty and even an ice cream or waffle in summer. Great lady owner with a wonderful personality. A must for visitors.

We had takeaway pasties from the Barbican Pasty shop today and they were truly scrumptious. My husband had a steak pasty and I had the chicken leek and bacon they were both full of flavour and moist nothing but delicious. Happy smiling staff and for anyone with a sweet tooth they do bubble waffles with a variety of fillings as well

An outlet for Proper Cornish Pasties based in Bodmin. Needless to say the pasties were top notch and it was nice to sit outside with a real mug of tea to enjoy our simple lunch.

I must admit I thought going down to Newquay to taste steak pasty was very good but after trying these pasties here at the barbican in Plymouth has taken 1st place for me.

Sells some of the tastiest pasties around. You can buy them hot or cold. We usually buy them for our long journey home to Lancashire.

We all fancied trying a proper Devon pasty and called in here for lunch! We were not disappointed - we all opted for the traditional pasties - varying sizes - small for the kids, medium for the ladies and large for the men! fantastic - don't miss the chance to try one if you're in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, too!

Had pasties from here for years, nothing ever seems to change, same great tasting pasty and service with a smile.

I bought large proper Cornish steak pasties to take back to Wiltshire - my husband and I really enjoyed them and wished we had bought more. These were well filled and very tasty - I can highly recommend them. A good comparison with the 6000+ pasties which I told the owner had made by my Cornish mother-in-law over a very long life !

You can smell the pastry as you walk past the shop. Pastry was crumbly and tasty. Probably not too good for the heart but who's counting when you are on holiday? Highly recommended.

This establishment offers a variety of pasties to be eaten on or off the premises. The pasties are freshly baked with a wonderful taste. There are tables outside to sit with a drink and a pastie and relax for a while.

I had the tikka chicken pasty which I was a little disappointed with as it was still a bit cold in the middle, and I didn't find any chicken in it. My friend had the same and she only found one bit of chicken. As a tikka veggie pasty it was lovely, but mine was supposed to have chicken in it. Other friends really enjoyed their steak and stilton pasties though.

I can't say much to the pasties as I never tried one there, so the five points I give are for the super delicious marmelades they sell. Bought one for myself and another one as a gift from my holidays and they are both great.

Home made, delicious Cornish pasties. I had a traditional Cornish, medium size one with a cup of tea. I enjoyed it so much I wish I could have tried all of their variety. Highly recommend!

There's aplenty of choice on where to buy pasties in Plymouth but this has to be one of the better ones. Traditional, cheese and onion, leek and stilton and many other varieties on offer here.Not cheap but good quality.

This little pasty shop is worth a visit. It makes and cooks pasties on the premises and they taste fantastic. We both agreed that these pasties (large and just out of the oven) were the best we ever tasted. There are a few tables outside but if these are full, you can wander to the Barbican front where there are public seats. The owners stated they might sell up next year so visit when you can.

Popped in here on day out to Plymouth and my other half bought traditional pasties for us both.Really glad she did as they were not only extremely tasty but much lighter than would usually be the case for pastry.She even bought a miniature pasty keyring in the same bakers just for a bit of fun.What joy!

Tony and Linda are great people, serving just simply mouthwatering pasties. Always ready for a chat and full of local information, but their range of pies and pasties are superb. They also stock other locally grown preserves too, helping local businesses is close to their hearts.

Over the week we visited here several times. Every variety we tried, and there's over 20 or so, was fantastic.All piping hot and stuffed full of filling. Each filling was also better than the norm eg the Chicken and Mushroom had loads of both and a creamy sauce, but also potato etc. Making it that little bit special.A handful of indoor / outdoor tables, but very much a takeaway with pasties served in paper bags.Friendly service and very good value.

I visited this bakery on Sunday 17th July 2016. I was served by a young girl who was most helpful and friendly, I ordered a mixture of different pasty's they were all very tasty but the traditional cornish pasty was my favourite, it took me back to my younger days when I used to visit Plymouth /The Barbican. So don't just walk past go in and try.

We had traditional pasties which were devine, freshly cooked and hot, with tasty abundant filling and thin delicious pastry. It made a grey dull day palatable.

I visited this shop a couple of times when I was in Plymouth and would highly recommend it. There is a great selection of fresh pasties which are very yummy. It is set on lovely street and there is seating outside.

My love for Cornwall and Devon has seen me eat many Pasties all over the two counties. This place on the Barbican, do the best and also best price. Its a no brainer. If you want the most traditional and most tasty pasties ever, this is the place to go......I know my pasties better than anyone.

Went to this shop with my family over the weekend, and what can I say lovely staff and a wide selection of pasties. YES a wide selection more than your average traditional not saying that it was not nice! something for everyone would highly recommend.

Its a tiny shop for takeaways really although there is a table for 4 inside if its raining and tables outside. The humble pasty has come a long way and maybe 20 varieties are stocked. We had the traditional pasty. It was hot, fresh, had plenty of meat and was a pleasure. Not like a Barbican pasty of 30 years ago at all :)
