By The Park Cafe & Deli in Plymouth

Nice little coffee shop. Came in a few months ago. Wasn't the best flat white to be fair so probably won't come back but you may have a better experience if you're not as particular about a good coffee.

£380 for sandwiches, cake, scones, tea and coffee, appalling price for minimum food, tea and coffee were cold. No crisps, nibbles, salad. Would not recommend for a venue

Visited just for breakfast which was very pleasant indeed.

Went for a take away salad and sandwiches yesterday. The food was lovely, all freshly prepared, and the staff were great. Checking on all the orders to get everything right. Very good value for money. My salad was perfect, the sandwiches were full of salad as well as the chosen filling. My two young niece's had the kids meal. They really enjoyed them. I will definitely be going back, and would reccomended this place. Ideal for a really lovely picnic while the children enjoy fun in the park opposite.

Super little place with decaff coffee as well as skimmed milk. Not many cafes do these days! Super friendly staff & plenty of seating inside plus a super courtyard

Lovely little cafe. Although set back from the front, it was still full. The coffee and food were delicious. The cheese scone I had was warmed just enough and the bacon sandwich my husband had was full of crispy bacon. Although we didn’t have any of the cakes, they looked really scrumptious and very tempting. All home made as well. The service was also very good. Would highly recommend.

Nice little cafe selling gluten free and vegan food. We sat in the outdoor seating area and enjoyed a gluten free blondie and a vegan ginger flapjack with our tea and coffee. Both were delicious and reasonably priced too.

We had just been for Sunday Lunch and decided to have a walk up to West Hoe and have a Coffee. Where better to go then than Cafe By The Park. Lovely homely Cafe with a welcome to match. Decent size Menu of food and drinks with those temptingly tasty Homemade Cakes available as well. As for the Coffees we ordered a Flat White and Large Latte and super smooth they were.

Love this place. Staff are fab, service and food is great. Highly recommend

If you are looking for a traditional Coffee Shop which offers great tasting Smooth Coffee along with Homemade Food and Homemade Cakes Cakes then Cafe By the Park is the Place to go. Great Menu with plenty of choice together with Friendly Efficient Service and Free WiFi. Lovely feel to the place adds to the experience. We enjoyed a Bowl of Cream of Tomato Soup Served with a Fresh Wholemeal Roll followed by a Generous Slice of Coffee Cake topped with Marscapone Cream and a Fruit Scone served with Rodda’s Clotted Cream & a Pot of Jam. We finished our visit with an Americano & Latte Coffees. All freshly prepared and extremely tasty………oh and all at a tremendous value.

Lovely cafe food was nice .but was loads of dogs 4 2 sat by door as you come jumping up and people feeding them from tables .not for me .shame as it's a nice place .

Due to local authority speed bumps, I stumbled along this road and stumbled upon this cafe I think it might be classed as a partially hidden gem as easy to passs it by if not vigilent due to preoccupation with stumbling . Two very welcoming ladies took my order of cake which was very good and a sumptuous chocolate drink

One of the best cafe lunches we have had and we go out quite a lot, definitely recommend. The sandwiches, panini and soup were all absolutely delicious! Very warm and welcoming, the girl who served us was so lovely and calming, it makes a huge difference when the service is like this. We will be back, thank you. :)

Always a warm and friendly welcome with excellent service. The food is fresh, tasty and good value for money. The cakes are homemade and delicious. There are comfortable and spacious seating areas both inside and outside.

So warming and welcoming with such a great relaxing atmosphere , very neat and clean . The food was and is exceptional all the cake are all home made coffee and hot chocolate are so so more ish , and to set the whole thing off for cold day's like we have been having there is a real log fire to sit by war yourself up , everything about the place is all done to a high standard including the very lovely staff , highly recommend 👌.

If you are looking for a homely Cafe which serves delicious home made food then the Cafe By the Park at West Hoe is the place you need to head for. Beautiful mouth watering Cakes all home made by Nikki and available by the slice or you can order a complete cake. Breakfasts, Lunch and Snacks as well as Soup of the Day are available. Coffees and Teas as well as Soft Drinks all freshly prepared and Take-Away is also available. We sat to enjoy the days special of Stew served with a Seeded Roll which on a chilly December day was most welcome. Coffees of Latte and Americano followed and an enjoyable hour or so was enjoyed.

We hadn’t been to By the Park Cafe for quite some time and as we were in the area paid a lunchtime visit. We decided on the Soup for Lunch which was delicious and followed up with Coffees which were silky smooth. All in all we found the old place as Good as Ever.

Lovely little cafe. Wouldn't think it was from the outside but very nice inside and a very nice outdoor courtyard at the back where we ate. Good food, low prices and excellent service.

Great location by the playground for the kids. Small courtyard for outside dining. Excellent food. We've been several times when in the area and it never disappoints!

Secluded cafe with great bakes and a chilled out atmosphere

Very enjoyable coffee and cake with attentive staff.

It was a quiet day and raining as we drove by, we noticed this café thought we would pop in, staff very polite Covid measures in place i.e. contact tracing app QR code and cleaning down of tables, access to toilets, no complaints nice to have the area to ourselves for a few minutes did not realise this place has been open for over 9yrs there is a good menu with variety, worth a look see, if you are visiting the area

The food is BEAUTIFUL and filling, freshly made and cooked, the afternoon teas are yummy. The cakes just melt in your mouth. Well Worth a visit, no matter the weather.

Nice small place to have something to eat or a good coffee. They have soup of the day, and some sandiches, panini, potatoes and thinngs like that. Also have delicious homemade cakes.

Dog friendly, warm and welcoming. Lovely orange cake, home made scones and hot chocolate. Just what you need on a winter morning. Highly recommended.

Being back in Plymouth and on The Hoe meant a visit to By The Park Cafe. If you are looking for a traditional Cafe delivering fresh home made goodies and great smooth coffee then look no further. Great Customer Service from the Owner and you have to sample her freshly prepared food as well as that great coffee. We sat to enjoy a warm Scone and a Cappuccino & Latte in the lovely warm cosy interior. Prices are very competitive and you will certainly want to pay another visit.

Just moved in nearby, popped in with my Dad for a coffee, show him around. Nice clean friendly place, good menu choice. Reasonable prices for that area. Had a lovely coffee & generous slice of very yummy carrot cake. Very nice seating area out back for nicer weather. Will be returning

Good quality the choice of homemade cakes are delicious and the coffee is first class. There’s even a sunny little courtyard where you can enjoy a coffee and snack well worth a visit.

Lovely cake and coffee but my wife was disappointed with her tea as the water had a tang to it. We had a similar problems after having a new kitchen installed. We have only overcome it by filtering (Brita) our water prior to use.

It's great to simply have a cupa tea/coffee and a slice of cake. They also have a sofa by the fire so in winter you can be toasty. You also get a good view of the park so you can many let kids play while you sit in the cafe.

This cafe has some of the best cake in sale in Plymouth. It's a very pleasant place to while away and hour, try the herbal teas and fresh baguettes etc. Recommended

Friend and I went for tea and cake today at By the park cafe, I had Strawberry cream cake, mu goodness, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven, it was amazing, delicious, huge, and not slimming world. Pot of tea for 2, millionare shortbread and cake £8.50, service brilliant lovely end to a lovely Bank Holiday.

By the Park or Nicki's as I call it is the best cafe I have ever been to. The food is always wonderful and I am fussy. All the cakes are home made and believe me, she makes great cakes. The China and cutlery is of a higher standard than most eateries and is always immaculate an important thing for me. You have a view of the park if you wish to sit in the window. Dogs are more than welcome inside or out, little seating area out the back when it is nice weather. And they offer soya milk. Definitely visit, you won't be disappointed. Gift vouchers available, great present idea.

Stopped in for a coffee, good selection of cake and very friendly staff. Great park for children right opposite and easy access to Plymouth Hoe. Will be back soon.

We were back in the City and paid a visit to what was one of our regular Coffee Shops. Still the same old place and still Great Food, Great Coffee, Great Menu - even better and bigger - Great Service and Great Prices. Nice Friendly Welcome coupled with Lovely creamy Coffees and our Food Selections - Cheese & Ham Toastie plus Tuna Sweetcorn Sandwich with Hand Cut Crisps - were freshly prepared and delicious.

Could be cleaner as we sat at a dirty table with no effort to clean it!! There was no menus available only on the wall,Poor customer service,Very unprofessional.

Lovely little cafe in a converted terraced house opposite a children's park. Has a lovely fire with sofas as well as table and chairs. Wonderful food & drink (particularly the homemade cakes). The few times I've visited it has been quiet (mid afternoon) but apparently it can be quite busy over lunchtime. Great service too. Highly recommend ❤

Absolutely appalled by the service here. Asked for a large americano to take away and then I bought the coffee back because clearly the milk had curdled, I was greeted with "how would you like me to make your coffee" and "because the water is so hot this is how the soya milk reacts and can't be helped". I have had soya milk curdle like this before, at home and in other coffee shops. It has always been understood that this is indeed a problem of the milk and a fresh coffee has been made for me with fresh milk and NO problem. I was so utterly disappointed and disgusted by the attitude of one woman I simply walked out because I didn't want an argument in a FULL coffee shop, with no offer of a refund.

We live in Plymouth and when wandering round passed this little cafe but had not stopped, this week we decided to try it for coffee. It was quiet which was great, it looks like it may be popular with young families ie the playground opposite. We only had coffee which I must say was one of the best tasting we have had in a Plymouth (although the reg size was quite small) the cakes and rest of the menu looked good.

Love this lady and her coffee! Makes taking the kids to the park in all weathers worth it! Great home made cakes, lovely clean loo, friendly service! All u could wish!!

Visited the cafe today with my friend and our children as I have been here before and it serves lovely food and is very clean, but unfortunately today left with a bitter taste. My little boy was playing with the sugar packets that are on...

Just opposite the park this is a great little cafe. Popped in there and warmed up with a coffee and some cake. The park was very accommodating for children and provided a box full of toys. Coffee was good, as was the cake.

Was down the Hoe on a misty day looking for somewhere inside to have breakfast. Came across this cafe opposite the West Hoe playground.Lovely log fire going nice welcome and the Full English Breakfast @£4.95 was a delight. Delicious sausage superbly cooked egg and much more, not a giant plate full but the quality was excellent.Will be back as the Cakes looked lovely

Wasn't planned but stopped in here for lunch, it was very nice but a little expensive for a panini and a coffee-£10.50. Friendly staff. Clean and freshly prepared food. If I wasn't on a diet I would have had a cake but it was probably a good idea I was because I would have struggled deciding which one to have seems they all looked so scrummy.

My daughter recommended this shop and we ordered from here. We rang the shop and then came to collect them. They were quick, great service and amazing panini's!

Second visit to the cafe. Reasonably priced coffee and the most delicious lemon drizzle cake. Really like it here, immaculately clean and pleasant, friendly service. Relaxing place to have a chat and something yummy.

I love this cafe! Nicky and the staff are friendly. It is kept immaculately clean with a good varied menu.Children are made to feel welcome and there is now an outdoor seating area which gives the feeling of being abroad on a sunny day!This is a perfect spot next to the park and is a must if you're in the area x

I've only used this establishment once with my wife and 3 year old Granddaughter. The folks here were very helpful and friendly towards all of us. I can't remember what we had to eat, but as I don't recall my visit as a bad experience I can only say that "as I remember it everything was good"
