The Old Red Lion Pub in Leeds

Appalling that Samuel Smith's brewery has allowed this wonderful pub to stay closed for some six years. If you don't want it, sell it to someone else@

Although I was disappointed to see The Old Red Lion Pub currently closed due to the massive road widening project taking place but its heartening to know it will soon be reopening as its such a warm and inviting pub. The pub itself is awesome, the interior is fab ,great decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar that dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, beer range is brilliant, good selection of real ales and the staff superb, its a pub I highly recommend you check out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Meadow Lane.

Love this place. Great for a quiet pint or two with a book or a newspaper. You can escape the world.

The place is charming and the service is very friendly. The parishioners are very nice and friendly. Excellent beer with a very good price... what more could you ask for?! The best pub I have visited so far in Leeds, among many very good ones... I hope to return!

The old red lion is a traditional pub, no 2-1 cocktails, no music, no dancing.. just cheap (good) beer from Samuel Smith's brewery... It's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Leeds city centre

Good pub and good beer, a little quiet at times, but friendly people Since previous comment new management - it's now just dusty and plain so will have to drop 3 stars I'll update in a few months if I go back in

I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve visited in the last 6 weeks and again it was quite honestly a faultless service. It was attentive, yet personal and really quite delightful that the staff remembered me from each visit! Staff were knowledgeable and rather fun, it's lovely to see people enjoy their job! A nice selection of drinks were on offer in a lovely atmosphere. I like to think myself a Sam Smith connoisseur and quite frankly I can't wait to visit again and taste the delightful drink on offer. I doubt I could teach them anything. Outstanding!!!! 5*********

Good classic pub venue, comfortable seating, billiards, friendly staff, and good Cheap beer to be had, well worth a stop for pint or more!

Draft beers around the £2/£2.30 range. All products are Tadcaster. Very friendly place.

Free-standing Sam Smiths pub. No hand pumps and very few customers even on the day when the Tour De Yorkshire ended round the corner. Sad to see.

Lovely old traditional pub, very clean, friendly service and cheap prices, no music so easy to talk and hear each other, makes a change from the usual noisy town centre pubs, well worth a visit, I will certainly go back again
