Local chippy set on edge of busy through town road, with all the usual chip shop fare Food is good, clean and freshly prepared. Good value portions and very reasonable prices. LARGE, supper for two less than £15.00 Bargain.

Always great fish and chips and big portions. Highly recomend. Only small negative is you have to wait a bit as it is cooked to order, but worth the wait.

Monday Sept 26th, managed to catch them just before lunch closure at 2pm. Excellent portion of Chips (not greasy), & 2 x Pea Fritters, that they cooked to order. Massive baseball sized Fritters, that are basically a tin of Mushy peas in a light batter. Friendly staff as well. Highly recommended.

Pleasantly surprised, the batter was lovely and crispy, the fish incredibly moist (most importantly, not overcooked). I'm used to paying £12+ for fish and chips but this place is much cheaper so therefore expeptional value for money. Almost forgot, the chips and delicious.

A bit surprised by the rating given our meal, it's definitely not my idea of a 4.7 out of 5 chippy! It's a bare bones operation - no forks or napkins. Would try the other options first.

Best fish and chips in Bournemouth, great portion sizes and so so tasty, staff were lovely the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is its cash only bit of a pain but now I know its well worth the trip to a cash point .

Amazing chips! Best I've found anywhere in Christchurch - fresh, cooked to perfection, and generous portions. Large cod was good - nice and chunky white fish with no bones! The batter was a little stodgy for me, but still very tasty.

The fish and chips where really nice from here. Really good portions and not overpriced for a big family meal. Everyone was happy with their meals. It's a nice little shop with a friendly atmosphere, the fish is cooked fresh to order. Just be aware you need to pay by cash!

Best chip shop around! Always cooked fresh to your order and served in paper not a polystyrene box which gives it a nicer touch. Highly recommend and just to let you know so you're prepared before you go it's cash only. Well worth the visit to the cash machine.

CASH ONLY - in 2021, after covid, really cash only. If they’re this cheap with not paying for a card machine imagine how cheap they are with their ingrediants! AVOID

Fantastic fish & chips good value for money the mutts nuts

The chips were lovely, took them to the beach nearby and ate them, lovely and hot with loads of salt and vinegar as requested.. perfect!

Chips were greasy beyond my children wanting to eat them.

Fish is cooked to how you like and was a huge bit cod large was twice size you get in other places

Have been going for years. Consistency is always spot on. The fish is always cooked nicely (not overcooked) Chips are always just right and you need to be hungry to finish them! Run by a lovely couple who are always very frendly. Browns is always good, not always very frendly and usually very busy, Captain Cod can be good too(but variable), but I always end up going back to this place as they have everything IMHO.

There are no better chips than here and they are always generous with the fish and gossip. I don't think my life in the UK would be complete without these fab people

We just had 2 large cod and chips and thoroughly enjoyed them.The batter on the fish was perfect the fish cooked exactly right and the chips were excellent.Served in a very friendly and efficient manor by a lovely lady can't wait to go back would thoroughly recommend it best fish and chips around

Grew up going here and since Janet and Pete took over I've never had a problem with the service or the food. Always polite and up for a chat which is awesome. Tasty food at a great price.

Man and Wife team know how to serve up the best pea fritters Ive had anywhere. There is a small memorial park across the street you can share a chip with the resident robin.

Well hidden gem for those not au fait with this chippy. Superb sausage and chips were excellent. Will definitely be back. Well done.

We purchased here for the first time yesterday after previously using another shop close by. Weren’t disappointed and will return. Word of warning it is cash only but apparently a cash point is close by.

Friendly local service with fresh food. Tried this as an alternative chippy to one we normally visit - was surprised at the value for money and standard. Will be switching to this as our preferred chippy from now on.

I use this chip shop a lot. I pass two others on my way to it; neither able to compete with the quality or value of the food served here. It's no frills but very friendly service from the lovely couple who run it. You're always sure of a good chat and a laugh whilst waiting. I have to recommend the cod - it is expertly fried and the batter is the right consistency and thickness for my taste, helping the fish melt away. Lovely.

Definitely the best chippy in Christchurch both for food, prices and portion sizes. You get personal service and a smile!

After a lovely, chilly walk by the sea we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips. The British chippy is a real blast from the past. We had cod and chips, proper fish and chips... The chips were exactly as they should be, the fish was incredible, the peas were sublime and the curry sauce had bite. This chippy is so fabulously quintessentially British, it is the chippy of your childhood! Long may it fry!

I really feel that this is a traditional chippy. We always get a generous portion of fish and chips. We love this couple that are friendly and everything you want from your traditional chippy around the corner, that includes a bit of banter and gossip.

Despite this chippy literally being only around the corner from where I live, I only went here for the first time a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. With so many great chippy's in the nearside vicinity this place is gonna have to up its act. The batter was soggy and not crisp and the chips did not have that 'Just Fried' taste to them. I was not even offered salt & finger. maybe I just went on an off night but fish and chips are no longer a cheap meal and for me every purchase has to be bang on the mark or I simply wont go back. Try Brown's along the street a bit, so much better!

This place is the best chip shop for miles. Lovely fish and chips, burgers and battered sausages! The couple who own it, run it so well and are very pleasant. Do try it! You won't regret it!

Pasando por un par de veces antes de entrar me preguntaba por qué el viernes a mediodía este lugar tenía ningún cliente - ahora sé por qué porque es muy normal. Pescado y patatas fritas en 6,40 libras estaban bien, pero la pasta era pasada en lugares. El pescado era grande pero muy finas. El lugar parece un poco sucia y no estaba impecablemente limpio detrás del mostrador. Este lugar da competidores en la zona del Brown's y Alexander's que son muy buenos.

Lovely batter , & perfectly cooked chips other places cook them underdone but these were 10/10Service with a smile & the lovely lady who dishes up has a wonderful smile & charm about her. Obviously a fantastic husband & wife team . Also generous portions . Worth the effort to park around the corner or a few shops down so don't be lazy & let that put you off. Best by a mile ! Try it out you would not go back to the other chip shops trust me I've tried them all near by & I'm sticking with this gem of a find !
