This place takes gastro pub to another level. I honestly could have gone for any of the starters , 4 out of the 6 mains and all of the desserts. It is a shame when someone leaves a review that they don’t consider themselves culpable for paying their children a little attention

Found this place through their FB page advertising their Sunday roast, where we "could relax and " let us do the cooking". We were in the area and it was my wifes' birthday. Booked it for 5pm. Arrived to be told they had no Sunday roast left. Okay, bit disappointed as the description on the FB page looked amazing. Ordered something else (more of that later). 15 mins later family of 4 arrive, with 2 dogs and a baby. Yep you guessed it they were royally served with roast beef and all the trimmings. Perhaps or maybe likely they were local. Our food came a "fisherman's platter". The salt and pepper haddock goujons were not as advertised but were normal goujons as per the "nibbles" menu. Raised both these issues with the 2 young members of bar staff. Was told the party who got a roast dinner ordered in advance, adding more credence to them maybe being local and aware the restaurant regularly runs out of what it advertises. Asked for manager or DPS to be informed of my unhappiness. Didn't hear from them. Nowhere does it say order in advance to get a roast dinner. Requested bill, reluctantly paid and on my wife's request didn't escalate the issue for not receiving the slightest consideration or concern. Moral of the story. Don't go for Sunday dinner you might not get it.

We love this pub, it's our local, but it's got even better. The food has been lifted onto a different level. Cannot fault the quality of food was superb, the service was attentive and the atmosphere is always great. It's a great pub, you must visit.

Excellent service. Booking was very professional and helpful. Service was excellent from all the staff. Food was wonderful. We had Sunday lunch, beef, chicken and lamb. All cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire puddings were better than ‘my nans 🤣’. Great location for train and bus services. Easy to walk around Windermere. Will definitely be back.

I booked for a table of 10 for dinner and at the last minute had to change it to a 17, this was changed with no problems by Nanny Sue, the service was perfect and all of our food was amazing! Also a special thank you to our waitresses Tracey and Katie x

My Son booked us in for Mother's Day. I've been to Cosy Club numerous times & as usual was not disappointed. Such a warm welcome, staff dressed up so smartly for the occasion , breakfast was scrummy as usual but the little surprise when we were leaving was my Mother's Day pressie courtesy of Cosy Club. Thank You 🫶

So we have lived here for a few years and Papa’s has always had a good reputation and today we really fancied Fish n chips. We waited politely at the “wait to be seated” sign and were studiously ignored by a tall blond lady chatting with a small woman in a black trilby. When they were good and done with their discussion we were crammed into a corner and given menus. It doesn’t take long to be honest, does it, to chose your meal but when we asked if we could order we were told that we were “in a queue”. The restaurant was fairly empty at this point. The table behind us also heard this retort and we exchanged glances and chatted about how odd the whole vibe was, snarly and decidedly unfriendly. We’d already got a bad feeling so probably ordered less than we may have. The food came fairly fast and was very generous and the fish was nice, well cooked with good home made chips . But the waitresses were so snarly and straight faced and unpleasant it kinda ruined the whole experience. I heard her with some tourists who wanted to share a meal and wanted to go and apologise for our country and its rudeness. Next I heard the small one snap at a table of ladies saying “I told you that wasn’t included” and watched them share an awkward look. We finished, paid and no-one asked if the meal was OK, or if we’d like anything else, they just are not interested at all. The food is pretty good but I would REALLY avoid eating in as the service here is so cold and unpleasant- it is really uncomfortable and for £43 I honestly don’t think a smile or a thank you is too much to ask? Or better still choose another as there’s plenty of place who might appreciate our trade.

Amazing view. Al fresco dining with unsurpassed views from The Lizard. Always see a seal or two to put the icing on the cake. Have visted often and always have the vegetable lasagne - absolutely delicious. Others have had the burgers, fish and fish medley and am told the crab sandwich is very good. So sorry to hear it is closing this week. Hope whoever takes over doesn't try to change it too much. As it is, it offers great food at good price, lovely staff and has a reputation to support this with a location that cannot be beaten. It's family friendly, food is served swiftly and never disappoints - and who could want more whilst gazing over the blue Atlantic. Good luck to the present proprietors in their retirement.

The food was so tasty! Staff was super friendly, funny and polite! The goat cheese with redbeet salsa is my ultimate favorite! The green olives were quite raw/fresh, we would prefer other type but these were good too. Overall amazing food and vibe, I definitely recommend!
