The best restaurants serving British food in England

Given a Groupon voucher as a gift for this meal. We got the budget Groupon service. Small table tucked away. Tonight a long story short the rump top steak cut we were only able to have with this package was so chewey and poor it had to be re cooked just to be edible The monkfish cheeks I had as a starter was tiny and smothered in a curried sauce the triple cooked chips were processed thin croquettes. And the Dirty mash did t seem to have the bacon lardons. Just some gravy and a sprig of cooked onions. All in all a poor showing for what looks like a lovely place to dine. To top it off the first bill presented was for the full meal no Groupon voucher taken into account. And the waitresses rolled her eyes when I explained their error. Chester has a lot of dining experiences and we go to a few when we can. I don’t think we will revisit this one.

Went with my Mrs for a bottomless brunch. It was the best, the pizza and pancakes were amazing. Libby served up from start to finish. She was brilliant. Definitely recommend it, totally worth the money.

A random find but what a fantastic piece of luck. 4 adults and 4 kids enjoyed a brilliant Saturday lunch, great menu choices and the food that arrived was fabulous. Very friendly service and always on hand to answer questions and grab more drinks. 5 stars!

Different place to meet for drinks & tasty cheese board good selection of drinks more wine bar feel than a traditional pub. Dog Friendly 🐕 Friendly staff. Great place to visit 😀

I stopped in here on the way home, with my daughter and two friends and we felt welcomed immediately… The facilities were clean and checked regularly… The service was quick and we were greeted with a friendly smile. The atmosphere was welcoming and accommodating to someone with a young child. The food was lovely and the staff are friendly, & even made me laugh. Will be stopping in again soon.

I came last week, first thing and booked which was good as it got busy quickly, the staff were wonderful so friendly. I ordered the pancakes and the eggs Benedict and both were perfectly cooked and delicious. Coffee was great to, can’t wait to return.

A superb family run cafe and restaurant. Situated in a fantastic location surround by great walks for all seasons and levels of fitness. The garden is brilliant for eating outside especially for walkers with dogs. Great food options at very reasonable prices.

Lovely relaxed meal. Menu had lots of choices, everything ass beautifully cooked and service impeccable. A really enjoyable evening.

A pub I’ve been to many time due to location very friendly. Very very busy!!! A little over priced but makes up for it in charm and character. Good food if your eating

Intimate small old pub in Guildford

What a great venue, we were here for a birthday celebration and the place was perfect; it was a buffet style celebration with a proper party atmosphere, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly, engaging and welcoming and the night (7pm til midnight) went really smoothly with no-one waiting too long to be served. To top it off a silver charm, with huge sentimental value, was lost during the evening, 'The Kitchen' was contacted the next morning, they had found it and held on to it - so a massive thank you for that. Highly recommend the Brentwood Kitchen if you have special event to celebrate.

We randomly came across The Wentworth Arms online when looking for a venue in Barnsley for our wedding. When we went to have a look, we completely fell in love with The Loft at The Wentworth Arms. It was the perfect venue which fitted in well with our rustic theme and we chose to have our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception all there!! Lewis was our point of contact and wedding co-ordinator/organiser- he looked after us from day one. He was absolutely fantastic! Very attentive, professional, friendly and a really lovely person all round. Nothing was too much trouble and he made sure all mine and my husband’s needs were met. From the very first meeting, right up to the big day and even throughout, he was amazing! It wouldn’t have been the wedding day we had without him. We can’t thank him enough! Not only Lewis, but all the staff on that day were fantastic. Our family and friends had nothing but praise for everyone. They all catered for our needs and wants to perfection! We also want to show appreciation to the chef for the beautiful food which was served for our wedding breakfast (all requests were catered for) and the buffet food for our night do was equally as beautiful!!
