A pub I’ve been to many time due to location very friendly. Very very busy!!! A little over priced but makes up for it in charm and character. Good food if your eating

Found this pub tucked away in Brighton lanes. Fabulous atmosphere and dog friendly. The food was sublime, would definitely recommend the crab linguine. Also catered for my friend's food allergies without any hesitation. If I lived closer I would definitely visit more often as the chefs are passionate about the food they serve and frequently change the menu.

The Bath Arms was fantastic. The staff were very friendly, a good selection of drinks, but the star of the show was the food. We all (3 of us) had the fish and chips which was superb. A really light and crispy batter, lovely chips and mushy peas. Then came the desert, we had the caramel cheesecake, which I can only describe as the best cheesecake ever, so light and tasty. The Bath Arms will be our first port of call on our return to Brighton.

Took my son here for a quiet father son lunch and was absolutely blown away! A cracking little pub tucked away in the lanes and some of the best food we've had in Brighton. The staff were all lovely and we will definitely return the next time we're in town

Came in to try out the new menu, I can sincerely confirm it is fantastic. The vegan burger was superb. Best in town. Absolute smash. Friendly service from Oscar at the bar. What’s not to like. 11/10

This is a real pub but with a very modern/funky feel to it mainly down to the excellent, friendly and helpful bar staff. I’d definitely go again 😁

10 of us booked for Sunday roast and it was delicious. Large groups can be a pain and usually someone has a complaint but we were all delighted. The food and service was excellent and we all really enjoyed the food. Bar staff were so kind and helpful and really nice to us. I would definitely return, it was good value for money too.

Traditional pub in the middle of the Lanes. Serves a good range of Shepherd Neame ales, including Spitfire. Generally serves an excellent Sunday roast. Recommended.

My husband, infant daughter and I visited for lunch. We had a warm welcome and excellent service throughout. The bar person provided us with a high chair and hot water to heat our daughter’s lunch. The menu is pub classics/sandwiches but they also have a “chip shop” themed menu. We both had the steak burger which was delicious and the chips were excellent. popped in for a lunch - or a substantial meal, they offered a stew which was perfectly edible albeit a bit watery but if you are after a few bevvies than yes go ahead....sandwich options are limited but portion size good, but alas no salad or fries so its just a sandwich and an expensive one but very tasty...The main star here was the bar lady as she was patient and very accommodating to the present situation which has darkened all our dining experiences i hope they get busier in the Xmas period and throughout the new year as they deserve it !

Came to the bath arms to eat with a friend . Absolutely amazing service and the food is all delicious . Truffle Mac and cheese is superb and the steak and ale burgers were tender , moist and brilliantly presented . definitely recommend.

Anteriormente nos detuvimos para tomar una copa aquí en el pasado, pero nunca comimos. Ambos comimos un asado y fue fantástico. Ración de muy buen tamaño, muy abundante y muy bien presentada. El chef se tomó el tiempo de controlar a todos los que estaban comiendo para asegurarse de que estuvieran disfrutando de la comida. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente y cuando estemos en Brighton al lado volveremos a comer allí.

Popped in yesterday whilst in Brighton for a swift pint whilst girlfriend was shopping, was greeted by Matt who was excellent and charming throughout, add to that two lovely pints it was a fantastic pub experience, and I've been in a few.

Ya llevamos viviendo en este país un tiempo (quizá más del que nos gustaría) y sin duda este es el mejor Sunday Roast que he comido de cerdo. Lo recomiendo 100% y eso que yo no soy muy fan de la carne de cerdo. Te lo sirven con la piel crujientita estilo torrezno y es para morirse. Es el típico pub y el personal fue muy amable y atento en todo momento. Llegamos sin reserva y ya no tenían sitio en el comedor pero nos ofrecieron comer en una de las mesas del pub sin ningún problema.

There are so many eateries in Brighton, offering such a variety of types of food (excluding the ubiquitous fish 'n' chips!!!!!!) we wanted something normal but tasty. This served the business very well. Good ingredients, cooked beautifully, and served with a smile. Thoroughly recommend it.

We have come here many times before. He likes the beers and does not really care about the food there, just a bag of crisps will do. The toilets have never been brilliant but during the coronavirus season one pays even more attention to the hygiene of the place, such as the lavatories, the smell around the tables near the toilets simply awful, the carpets and table tops which ought to have been wiped more. Bar staff have always been a little miserable but maybe that's what they are like and the locals like it that way.

I love this pub.Not only is the food fabulous,the selection of refreshments is wide and varied.the guys running it are really friendly.I highly recommend the Bath Arms.

From the outside this Quintessential pub in old Brighton looks the dream. We stopped off for some food and a drink but left feeling a little underwhelmed. The place offered up so much potential but the food was odd, poorly plated on bowls and plates that just didn’t match the food or setting. It tasted fine, and call me fussy, but it was felt like the chefs didn’t care too much. Neither did the cleaners of the wash rooms. All in all, just a little underwhelmed by what we thought was going to be so much nicer.

We don’t often visit the Bath Arms because it’s slap bang in the middle of the Lanes & full of tourists. Yesterday, however it wasn’t overly busy, so we stopped for a couple of drinks & some lunch.There was plenty on the menu if you eat meat. If you don’t , it’s slim pickings.There was a snack menu & a fuller menu.Veg options were disappointing.My partner ordered a fish finger sandwich & a side of fries. I ordered the beer battered pickles.Don’t get me wrong they were nice but there was only 5 of them. On their website the sample menu has a far more extensive vegetarian offering than the actual menu in the pub. A lentil scotch egg really wasn’t what I fancied.The service was excellent & there is a really nice atmosphere in the Bath Arms, but I wouldn’t stop here for lunch again. It is a great place to drink though.As an aside it should be mentioned, the toilets are disgusting.

6 of us stumbled upon this pub restaurant. It has a cosy old pub vibe and the young staff were very welcoming. 1 of us is vegetarian, 2 pescatarians, the rest meat eaters. We all had something different to eat and were all very satisfied with our meals. Very tasty, and plenty of it. Will visit again when we are next in Brighton. Our waiter was a very helpful young man who took good care of us.

Came here for a few drinks after dinner. Haven't been to this pub for years but still cosy atmosphere and efficient bar staff. The mulled wine is very good and drinks are reasonably priced.

Had the fish, molluscs, nuts, milk and sulphites. I haven't had molluscs and sulphites cooked that well since I was boy. Bravo takes me back to my childhood. Keep up the good work.

The atmosphere is friendly and it's a cosy warm pub. The mulled wine is the best I've ever had. In winter there's a log fire. Keep us nice and toastie.

Had our work Christmas party here last week and the food was INCREDIBLE! Amazing meat, veggie and vegan options with such attention to detail. Bar staff were so friendly and attentive, great selection of drinks. Such good value for money for the quality of everything that we received. Massively recommend to all! En diciembre, cuando veo Pavo asado en el menú, espero rebanadas de pavo asado y un trozo de relleno. Ni una rebanada de lo que pudo haber sido carne reformada envuelta alrededor de un relleno pesado, servida como una rebanada como un rollo ártico. Cuando la mitad del relleno resultó estar tibia en el mejor de los casos, me quejé pero me negué a pedirle al chef.

Frío y hambriento un sábado por la tarde temprano, tuvimos problemas para encontrar un lugar que pudiera acomodarnos, así que estamos agradecidos de tomar una mesa en Bath Arms. El lugar estaba lleno de gente que disfrutaba de una bebida, muy ocupado, con un personal excesivamente extendido, pero todos de buen carácter.

¡Me gusta este pub, hay una gran mesa junto a una ventana que es ideal para 'Observación de personas'! En esta ocasión me encontraba con amigos para almorzar, y no había comido aquí antes. El menú no era extenso pero era variado y dos de nosotros fuimos por el pescado y las patatas fritas que la camarera nos recomendó. La comida llegó con la adición de un huevo en escabeche y una salsa al curry, así como la salsa tártara habitual. Mi primera reacción fue que el plato parecía algo soso y un poco mal concebido. Comí el huevo con un poco de salsa de curry, pero sentí que tenía dos comidas en el mismo plato. De hecho, el plato se habría visto más apetitoso y habría sabido mucho mejor con la salsa de huevo y curry ausente y una buena porción de guisantes blandos. Habiendo dicho eso, el pescado estaba perfectamente preparado y ¡tuve una muy buena copa de Sauvignon Blanc! Mi único otro comentario es que tuvimos que pedir que se limpiara la mesa, lo intentaré de nuevo. . .

Lovely traditional pub in the heart of Brighton. Had the mushroom risotto for main. Very tasty. Then the classic sticky toffee pud for desert .good service and good value

Wir suchten nach dem besten Fish & Chips und fanden es hier, danke der anderen Bewertungen. Wer englische Pubs kennt, kann sich vorstellen, wie es aussieht. Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Kritiken waren die Toiletten für einen Pub normal und eigentlich relativ gut. Mich stört im Pub eigentlich nur der Essiggeruch, der leider zu Fish und Chips gehört. Essen war lecker und sonst nichts auszusetzen.

On this occasion the food was definitely below par. We have visited on a number of times over the last year and the food was always very good. But I was disappointed on the visit. Wont be coming back.

Mi esposo y yo fuimos a Bath Arms con un amigo a almorzar. Ya habíamos recogido nuestros platos principales del menú exterior, pero al pedir nuestras bebidas nos dijeron que solo los asados los domingos. Aunque un poco decepcionado, mi esposo y yo pedimos el asado de panceta de cerdo y nuestro amigo vegetariano tenía el asado de hongos Wellington. Escogimos una mesa acogedora en la parte trasera del pub con nuestras bebidas y admiramos toda la parafernalia maravillosa mientras charlamos y esperamos nuestro almuerzo. Cuando sacaron nuestra comida, todo lo que puedo decir es que estamos muy contentos de haber visitado un domingo. Fue sin duda la mejor cena asada que cualquiera de nosotros haya comido. Absolutamente impresionante y cocinado a la perfección. Cada sabor era hermoso y muy diferente a cualquier asado que haya comido antes. Muchas gracias por los mejores asados y un servicio encantador. Definitivamente volveremos pronto.

A friend had told me that there was a new Head Chef at the Bath Arms and that the food offering was greatly improved.

Yesterday we were out and about in the lanes and decided to find a restaurant for a roast lunch. As we were walking past The Bath Inn we saw the menu and decided to try it. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Ruined our fun day as we left feeling ripped off.

The toilets were disgusting, no toilet paper in either cubicle and when I asked the bar staff to fill them they were not impressed they had to go to fill the paper. A female bar maid walked in and slammed down two rolls of paper and walked out. she couldn't even put them in the cubicles. The toilets were not checked regularly as they were dirty and smelly.

Visited this pub for a drink before heading out for dinner. Good choice of drinks, including a good gin menu. Around £6 for single G&T.; Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Didn’t stay for food but food looks good.

We called in for drinks on a Friday evening with two friends. The doorman was welcoming and there appeared to be a good atmosphere inside. I visited the gents toilet on arrival and was first hit by the smell and then the fact that I could hardly stand as my feet were constantly sliding on the urine soaked floor. I returned to our table and was welcomed by a flat pint of lager which I left behind. We left fairly quickly after that and we won't be returning anytime soon. A disappointing experience all round.

Visited this bar on several occasions.... it is a good pub right in the heart of the lanes. Plenty on offer with food and snacks.

Food was excellent, the lamb roast was the perfect size and bursting with flavour. Our waitress wasn’t overbearing but attentive enough, toilets and one staff member let the place down a bit but my waitress and the food deserve credit.

Had lunch with a friend on my birthday at the Bath Arms. Not sure what to expect but the fish and chips was amazing, so too he "Philadelphia" steak burger. The staff were very attentive, but not too much and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere for a Friday. Definitely worth a visit.

Love the ambiance and feel of this cute little tucked away pub, but my suggestion is visit for drinks only. We ate a very average-ish meal here ... should have gotten the hint when we walked in and the waitress asked “Are you eating here?” In question form... also should have realized we were the only ones in the dining room. No food, Just beer, and you’ll love it!

Visited recently for a drink and so glad we did. The pub itself is quite small and has a small outside seating area to sit and watch the world go by. Drinks reasonably priced and staff friendly. Would visit again.

I love this pub, it is one of my favourite. We had the scotch egg yesterday, it is excellent and one of the best I have had for years. Bought one to take away for my husband and they kindly popped it in a lovely box for me. Good choice of wines and great place to people watch everyone in the lanes. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The staff here are all, well, just nice people. You can tell that the owner takes great care to hire genuine and friendly staff. Just an observation from coming here over the years.

No juzgues el lugar por sus inodoros (pequeño y un poco cutre). La comida es excelente, las bebidas son geniales (buenas opciones de vino, tuvimos el NZ Sauvignon Blanc) y el servicio es encantador. Buena comida a buen precio y excelente experiencia de pub en el corazón de Lanes. Recomiendo el pescado y las patatas fritas y la hamburguesa. Arancini de setas todo es un gran arranque.

Had an amazing waitress called Nat! Made us welcome, fun, bubbly and great personality! Definitely one of Brighton’s hidden little treasures! THE GRAPEFRUIT GIN IS INCREDIBLE! Out drank the other half on that- was lush!

Came to The Bath Arms after a recommendation from a friend. Wasn’t disappointed, cheery greeting as soon as we arrived accompanied by quick efficient service. It was pretty busy so if you’re fancying something to eat I would recommend booking beforehand. The food took a while to come but seeing as we weren’t in a particular hurry this wasn’t a problem. When the food did come it was a basic roast, no nonsense with beef cooked to perfection, tasty gravy and decent amount of veggies. Will be returning soon.

We came across this pub purely by chance, having been turned away from busy restaurants nearby. As soon as we walked through the door, we received one of the friendliest of warm welcomes ever! The lady who brought our meals to us was equally friendly. I had the roast beef with seasonal vegetables and a really tasty gravy. The beef was tender; cooked to perfection, so were the veggies and the Yorkshire Pudding - all perfectly done.

Walking "The Lanes" in Brighton when we came upon the "Bath Arms" decide as it was lunch time we should give it a try. Do not let the appearance put you off. The service was friendly and the coffee really hot. Decided to have the roast beef and all the required side orders which we found was delicious. Beef and Yorkshire pudding done to perfection after being in UK for 2 months found this one of the best meals so far.

fish and chips were very greasy and tasted like they were cooked in rancid oil. burger was dry and unappetising. saving grace was the service!

This is a real original British pub/restaurant. It is supposed to be the oldest one in Brighton. Had the fish and chips and liked it.

Unfortunately the food has gone considerably down hill sice the pub has changed hands. Still a decent pub, but no longer one to eat at.

I’ve been here 4 or 5 times now for Sunday lunches and clearly that speaks for its self how good they are! We love the ambience and everything about it here. Cozy, chilled and lovely staff. Always chatty and friendly. You can tell the time and effort that goes into the lunches I’m yet to try anything new here but always looks good when seeing it come out. Superb! We’ve never booked but always arrive early or I’d advise booking. Can’t rate this place enough!

Considering this place is ranked 2nd on trip advisor for roasts I had very high hopes but found it a bit disappointing and not worthy of that rating.

¡Qué gran pub tradicional escondido en las famosas calles de Brighton! El ambiente es animado, el personal encantador, el propietario Mick fue super hospitalario y amable, y el domingo asado fue el mejor de todos. . . Elegí el asado lento de cerdo prensado. . . . . crepitaciones perfectas, hermosas verduras que sabían que acababan de salir del suelo, deliciosos pudines de Yorkshire y me encantaron las croquetas de parsnip de piel crujiente. Recomiendo encarecidamente y no puedo esperar para tener otra comida allí!

We booked dinner here because we’d had such good meals and service in the past. Sadly we were very disappointed with both. The most obvious problem was the sheer lack of seasoning. Everything tasted bland and unremarkable. The burgers just didn’t give you that juicy and tasty bite and the triple cooked chips just soft. My daughter was looking forward to the sausage and mash, her favourite from past visits, but it came in a bowl surrounded by extremely watery gravy and the mash had an odd sugary texture and taste. If I had to pick a high point it would be the asparagus but it wasn’t the best I’d ever tasted. We toyed with the idea of voicing our disappointment with our waitress (who incidentally had told us to read the board of specials in the doorway when we asked as she wasn’t sure!) but when we waited at the bar to pay it became clear that there wasn’t any real appetite from any of the staff to find out if we’d enjoyed our meal beyond the throw-away ‘was everything ok with your meals’ line which was said with a distinct lack of interest. Maybe we should have realised things had changed when we were the only ones booked in to eat and the bar itself empty in comparison to previous visits. Then we read here there was a new chef....

We used to really enjoy this pub with its cosy and friendly atmosphere and good food. We went here for dinner expecting what we were used to, but it appears they have a new chef since we were terribly disappointed.

My father was the Landlord of a pub and some of my earliest memories are of the sounds and the smells of a sixties pub, long before Watneys Red Barrel, Fosters Lager and Wetherspoons.

Have always enjoyed the Bath Arms as a pub so when family visited we thought we’d have Sunday lunch there. The roasts were ok but nothing special but when we ordered the Eton mess I was so disappointed - it probably had one strawberry and a few flakes of meringue. Three of us ordered this and when we complained the waitress only charged us for two. Won’t be eating here again.

We fell upon this pub in the south lanes. Traditional food served by cheerful staff. Good value for money. Try the sandwiches one is plenty for two !! Worth a visit.

Endroit sympathique, chaleureux. On s'y sent dans un pub fréquenté par les gens du quartier. Les plats que nous avons commandés étaient délicieux; la joue de boeuf et le rib steak avec un beurre au stilton.
