Excellent brunch, really well cooked with top ingredients. Beautiful spot overlooking the bay on a sunny day. Very much recommended!

Different place to meet for drinks & tasty cheese board good selection of drinks more wine bar feel than a traditional pub. Dog Friendly 🐕 Friendly staff. Great place to visit 😀

We usually visit Blacks Corner Tram Shelter once a week! The halloumi is very good as is the crab! Perfect with a glass of wine! Staff are always lovely!

We visited for brunch and got a table inside as we had booked. I enjoyed the Avocado Sourdough with Welsh Pancetta and my cousin had the English Breakfast Crostini. Both were tasty and beautifully presented. It was a nice atmosphere inside and the staff were very friendly. I thought the fresh orange was fairly basic. Although the food itself was nice, it was quite overpriced for the portion size. £18.15 for one slice of topped sourdough and an orange juice

We have visited Black's Corner in East Boldon regularly but we have noticed a slow decline in the general up keep of the premises. The outdoor area isn't clean, the brollies are dirty and none of the patio heaters are working. It was a Saturday night and when we left there were empty glasses lying around in the bar area. Sadly it isn't what it used to be.

Having asked for vouchers from friends and family for birthdays, myself and my wife decided to treat ourselves. We sat outside the weather was reasonable. We ordered a Garlic bread (4piece = £10) scandalous For main 2 x flat bread and olives. Now, for £5 we got 8 olives. The flat bread was fire and cold. A bottle of cheap wine and 2 ciders = £88 The service was such a chore to get the staff to clear the table. I asked 3 times but their phones “gossip” got the better of them. All in all I was very VERY poor

Really nice staff its very cosy ,we enjoyed a warm fruit scone with clotted cream jam aslo really tasty cappcino.Great views along Seaburn beach &Roker tide was out very picturesque.

Food was amazing!! The cheese platter was just so good and had so many options for different people!! The flat bread was also so good that I could barely put it down. Service was on point and it was a relaxing experience and I would again. I recommend the potatos. Focaccia was on point too.

Very delicious brunch. I added pancetta my n’duja sourdough which made it even tastier. The staff were so friendly & food came out very quickly.

Lovely place to visit. Really stylish decor inside and sunny seating areas outside. ordered latte and scone for me, toasted teacake for my daughter in law. Very quick service, cuppas were lovely along with our very tasty treats!! Definitely recommend a visit-we will be returning soon!

My husband is always pestering me to go out. Saw this location in a well-known magazine and also saw good reviews here, decided to give it a try. I do like the venue, except that if you're there and an event is on, you are part of it and you are part of the clear up. I could have had a better 'pizza' in many places for half the price. We ordered flat breads which are £15 each and were hoping to see and taste the cheeses and meat. I had the mozerella and olive one and couldn't even dicern the mozerella - for this price, I want to see it, smell it, eat it alone to taste it. The flat breads are on a very over powering tomato base, which is delicious but it over rides all other flavours. If you are lauding it about cheese and meat - we want to see the cheese and meat, not get an average pizza. Such a shame, cause over all the venue is stylish and the staff were nice. Too expensive.

Came for cake and coffee and both were delicious and well priced. Beautiful setting with views out to the sea. The service was slow. Cakes brought over first to our table that had still not yet been cleared from the people before..one coffee brought over 15mins later and my partners forgotten about. Eventually he went up and got it off the bar. We'll give it another go but service really let the place down. If it had good then we'd have been raving about this place. Hopefully a one off..mistakes happen

Me and my partner visited blacks corner today. Wow appsolutely beautiful Atmosphere food service beautiful decor. Chef appsolutely hats off amazing food presentation well done. We also tried the new dessert truffles appsolutely amazing. Looking forward to visiting again very soon . You will not be disappointed.

Went to Blacks corner to give it a whirl and was not disappointed by the lovely decor, atmosphere and menu choice. Simple but varied. We had the Poached eggs on sourdough with mushrooms replacing the Parma ham, and the flatbread with avocado and eggs. Both cooked to perfection but my only criticism is the plate was not HOT and therefore the meal did not keep warm. This would of been rated 5 stars but I feel this is feedback the chefs need to make it that bit better. On a cold winters day or any other day, serve your food on a HOT plate.

Food at the Tram shelter was nice but cold on arrival. Staff taking dishes to the wrong tables. 40 minutes for our drinks 😒

Beautiful quality food here and great service. Breakfast sausage sandwich with chilli jam was just what I needed. Kept me full the whole day. Parking is free up the long road but can take a bit of searching to find a spot. Recommend

Have been here many times and aways had lovely food and decent service but my last visit was disappointing, food not great and drinks a fortune £35.00 😯 for a bottle of prosecco!!! Also service very slow waited ages for our drinks.

I’m a real foody and I’m easily disappointed in restaurants, but Black’s Corner definitely didn’t let me down. The food was absolutely divine. The meatballs and potatoes bravas had a sublime tomato sauce plus we enjoyed the scrumptious broccoli and pea sprout salads. What a fabulous little place! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and classy, pretty decor with beautiful food and great service. A window was accidentally broken by a guest near us at one point and the staff couldn’t have dealt with it in a more professional manner, checking we were ok and offering us a complimentary dessert. Just the right balance of professional and friendly that really made a difference to our night. Thank you for showing the very best customer service along with a delicious selection of food and drinks!

Service really poor, although staff are polite and friendly they are really slow at serving drinks that's if they remember at all. Seem to prefer to bring the drinks over rather than just pour them there and then, then inevitably completely forget or take 15 mins to bring them over.

Went for a Father’s Day meal with the family. We were sat at a lovely table, the music was pleasant and the atmosphere perfectly nice (slightly on the chilly side). However, the delays began immediately. First drinks were a struggle to get. This was followed by the food, which came out in dribs and drabs. It was the same with further drinks orders, dessert and if we stayed for the bill we’d be there til July. The wait was only exacerbated by entirely unfulfilled requests by staff; we asked two members of staff for a straw and ended up having to go to the bar ourselves after neither remembered. The coffees to accompany our desserts were lovely, but we weren’t informed that the oven had broken after ordering and led to us waiting half an hour for our dessert. We would be more understanding if it was really busy but we were one of only two tables left inside. The staff seemed like lovely people but perhaps need some extra training/motivation. When you are paying premium prices you would expect premium service.

Visited Blacks Corner for the first time for a friends 60th Birthday on the 4/6/23. A delightful restaurant/bar, I tried an assortment of their locally sourced cheese, meat and breads which were absolutely top quality. The staff were happy, friendly only to willing to help, especially if is your first visit so don’t be shy to ask.

Have visited many times and have always had first class service and excellent food. Visited yesterday. Drinks were served quite quickly. Then waited an hour for food after having to go inside to query where our order was. Two of the party ordered the same. One meal was acceptable quantity. Not so the other. My meal came after the others had eaten their meal. Very disappointing.

Lovely food . Good service and very polite staff especially the young lady who may be the boss . Keep the good service up and I will be back .

A lovely place to meet and eat over coffee or wine

We were a table of 5 out for a 60th birthday. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food was lovely. Could have easily ordered more if we weren't pushed for time at being elsewhere. Only disappointment would be desserts as we headed off elsewhere as there was nothing to our fancy

Fantastic venue. Caters equally as well for lunch as it does dinner. Genuine care taken when choosing suppliers and creating the menu. One of, if not the nicest place to eat or drink in the area, cannot recommend highly enough!

First visit so didn't know what to expect. Fortunately Elliette, who waiting on at our table, was fantastic. She provided an insight as to portion sizes, making recommendations about various menu options. She could not have been more helpful. The food, (wagyu beef flatbread, English breakfast crostini and British bravas followed by chocolate cake and peach melba)and drinks were excellent and very good value for money.Worth a second visit if just for the level of service provided today. Only one minor negative for me, the flatbread was served on a wooden board 🤔 Happy days.

Great food, lovely ambience but spoilt by poor service. On arrival we seemed to wait longer than average to order a drink. When someone eventually came, I even asked if we had to order at the bar, as we waited that long. Sadly it didn’t get any better. After we finished our food we sat and waited and waited for the staff to clear the table and bring the desert menu. What was worse, was they were coming to nearby tables but not seeming to notice we were finished. I tried several times to catch someone’s eye but remained unnoticed. There seemed to be plenty of staff hanging around the bar area but no one taking charge. I eventually went to the bar to ask for the desert menu. We ordered a desert to share and coffees. The desert came, then one coffee, then 5 minutes later the next coffee. We asked for the bill at the same time, as felt we’d be waiting another half an hour for that, if not. It came instantly, haha. We waited for someone to come and take payment but once again it didn’t happen and we ended up paying at the bar. For one course, a desert and coffee we were there over 2 hours. The girl who took the payment asked if everything had been okay and looked surprised when I mentioned the bad service. Such a shame the lovely food was overshadowed by a totally disjointed and disappointing service.

From the outside this place looks lovely and inviting. Appealing decor, colour scheme and a corner spot. After having visited, the outside area was lovely and I would recommend people eat there rather than inside. The actually interior looked nice but the seats at tables were unsteady. This is usually the case with nice looking furniture however the quality does not match. The food was average, nothing special, not as we had expected (given the outside pull the place had, suggesting excellent quality). Staff were also a bit pretentious.

A regular here for brunches, lunches and evenings I absolutely cannot fathom some of the negative reviews on here. Blacks corner is a welcoming little escape, amazing food, incredible wines and all staff are happy to talk you through the menus, wine menus and even offer tasters of new produce. Nothing is too much trouble. The décor and atmosphere have been so meticulously thought about and considered. You can’t help but relax as you walk in. A special mention to the incredible Joseph who is always happy to go above and beyond. You know your table will receive the best of the best when he’s working. He’s a huge asset to blacks. Highly recommend, we love supporting this amazing local business.

Came here for tea with a friend, staff were really friendly and helpful and service was good. I enjoyed a flatbed pizza which was very yummy. Great place it had a great atmosphere and the decor was cool.

Visited for a friends birthday and was very happy with the service, staff where lovely and attentive, spread was amazing and everything tasted fresh. All the drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic where lovely! Really would visit again

We were the party of eight at table 19 today. Placed order of 4 coffees 1 tea 3 hot chocolates and a combination of tea cakes scones and brownies. Order was placed 1126 we were expecting drinks and food to come together. Food came about 20 mins later (missing a jam). We thought the drinks would come with the food but we finished the food before the drinks came. Infact we had to chase the staff for the drinks. Kids hot chocolates missing marshmallows and cream and we only got two hot chocolate instead of three. That hot chocolate came after everyone else finished thier drink. Very poor today I even felt sorry the staff as I think they were embarrassed about the service.

Lovely independent restaurant/bar/cafe. Excellent, yummy food options, a good range of beverages and friendly, helpful staff. The prices are very reasonable. The environment is extremely pleasant to chillax in. I guess the only downfall is the size, in that it's so popular that sometimes you can get a table/seat but we'll worth a visit. 😊

Wow wow wow the place itself is beautiful. Decor very trendy and so is the background music. We had a really friendly and helpful waitress who asked whether we had dined there before and whether we wanted to have the menu explained. Big rock for that as we didn’t have a clue. We received some samples of differences types of cheese. We chose from the menu a couple of starters, flatbread and a board to share. Oh boy! (I was pleased I had a stretchy dress on) The food was tremendous. The meats and cheeses. Just delicious. Anyone passing this place, we would recommend to book a table in advance as it’s a popular place. Highly recommended! You need to try it!

Food is delicious and inventive.

We had the blacks corner charcuterie board. Just the right amount of quality cheeses and cured meats completed with crackers, focaccia, pickles and grapes. We also added a pork pie which was brimming with meat. The Monmouthshire air dried ham was particularly good. Good selection of drinks, though we went for simple lime and sodas plus the crisp complimentary water. Lovely atmosphere, polite, attentive staff, great relaxed surroundings. Can not fault.

Great service overall but poor quality food at an extortionate price the £7.50 sausage sarnie was a disgrace to humanity 2 sausages in 2 slices of bread, the menu was atrocious no full English

Thanks so much to the staff at Blacks Bistro! I didn’t realise the metro line was part of the rail strike area when I got dropped off at East Boldon metro yesterday, and not knowing the area, and with no buses available to get me to my onward destination, I called in to ask if they could recommend a taxi company to get me to the nearest operational Metro Station (Pelaw). Not only did they ring Station Taxis on my behalf, they sat me in the shade with a glass of iced water while I waited - (and the food being served to the customers looked amazing, I’ll remember Blacks Bistro if I’m back in the area!) Thanks again!👏👏👍👍

Nice decor and selection of brunch and charcuterie with locally sourced produce, slightly expensive for portion sizes but a pleasant and relaxing environment and pleasant staff. Advise to book instead of walk ins as seating is limited.
