Great pub, great staff, food always nice, service always fast and friendly

Never been in any of the rooms, but its alright pub decent atmostphere and good staff. If you will, a local legend around these ends.

Rooms are dull and way outdated the window of my room doesn't close carpets are stained it's definitely not worth it, the positives are bar area is nice and the staff are nice, I won't be staying there again definitely not. its definitely not worth 50 quid a night.

Stayed here for one night. A nice welcome from the host who explained everything well. The room was perfectly good and comfortable. Had a meal which was very decent, nicely cooked chicken and fresh looking side salad, reasonably priced, good portions and service good. It was a quiet Monday night in the pub, seemed pretty chilled out, lots of TVs playing football and standard pub decor, clean and tidy. Would stay here again and recommend.

went to longship for breakfast with santa & the day after with tea with the elfs, my daughter done this last year aswel as she just loves it, lots of fun for the kids, staff always really friendly

Today we went for my father-in-law's birthday which we booked as there were quite a few of us. The food was lovely with plenty choices we all really enjoyed it and we all had a great time. It's a lovely place to go for food or just drinks with friendly staff and great prices ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I ordered the gammon (with two eggs, chips, peas, half a tomato). I rarely order gammon because it's usually very disappointing but this meal was top class - the meat was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked and it was such a generous plateful. Delicious.

All the carpet was ripped like something had been chewing it near the radiator other than that the rooms was clean could be more modernised

Stayed here over night for a gig at the Stadium Of Light. Firstly the location is good it's about 15 minute drive from Sunderland centre and the football ground. (My girlfriend drove, I can't comment on what it's like to get public transport) The staff in the pub are great, check in was a breeze. We had food and drink here and the food was tasty with again good service. The room was less than £40 for the night (Tuesday night / when Beyoncé was in town!) It's obviously cheap for a reason. The accommodation needs updating massively. There was an over welming smell of gloss paint which was unpleasant. The shower wasn't the most powerful. The bed however was comfortable. I honestly didn't know that Greenking owned accommodation that you can stay in, I agree with the idea but this one in particular needed a bit of TLC.

We where in room number 1, television, toilet did not work, room was warm, that's why they needed a electric radiator in the room, handle reguired on bedside draw, apart from that it was comfortable

Paid £5.15 for a pint of moretti went to clock £3.50 going to clock after this shocking greedy overcharging

We went out for a family birthday so pre booked a table for 18 people including kids, meals all pre ordered apart from 2 people who came last minute to join.. All the food came within about 15 minutes and everyone got their food together, no mistakes! All the food was absolutely lovely, especially the katsu chicken dish and they even had the 2 extra peoples food out within another 15 minutes despite the kitchen being busy and them ordering last minute. Most of all though the service was absolutely second to none - Gill was our server and she couldn't be more helpful, accommodating and friendly! Great time was had by all

Nice lunch at The Longship, at £10.49 for two meals it's excellent value, meals were very nice, well presented and arrived quickly. Service was also very good, our server Sam was very pleasant and attentive. Overall for a pub lunch I'd give it 8 out of ten.

Came here for some food and drink with the family. Service was brilliant, the two managers Mark and Clair were so friendly and outgoing, made a real effort and made us feel so welcome throughout, took the time to make conversation with our children too and they loved the chicken nuggets, said they are better than Mcdonalds.

Popped in t time today and place was buzzing. Great atmosphere and Gill was amazing. Service with a smile as always, it was as if she had more than 2 arms!! Will defo be back!

First time in the longship, we took our kids out for tea, Claire was really helpful and hardworking she kept checking to see if everything was OK with our meal and cleared up straight after. An overall good experience.

I come here often and I have to say I’m so happy to see Gill is back. She is the best server by far. It wasn’t the same without her.

Went here with my family couldn’t of had a nicer experience Deputy manager Clare served us couldn’t have been more helpful, defo will return and recommend.

What a lovely afternoon we had yesterday, the food was gorgoues and the waitress (Clare) went above an beyond, helping us out with our food choice and also being a great kids entertainer this made our visit a lot more manageable as a family with 3 children it can be quite a hassle and not very enjoyable. We will definitely be back, amazing service!!

Went to the longship today with family for food and drinks. What a brilliant experience from start to finish, due to the fantastic server Gill. She made us feel very welcome and looked after us all. We will definitely return soon.

I would not recommend this place, had a nightmare from start to finish. Service was absolutely terrible, especially by this one bar maid, I think her name was Gill. 0/10 would not recommend

I visited today for just a couple of drinks, wasnt really sure what to choose so asked a member of staff for some recommendations, Shannon who served me was really helpful and recommended some really good drinks asked about menu again recommendation spot on. Will be visiting again. Staff more then helpfull

We visited the Longship for a family meal and drinks, COVID meant the staff had a harder job than usual making sure our details were logged and running a table service, the food arrived quickly and our server, Gillian, made sure our visit was pleasant and drinks were served quickly and professionally - we'll go back again!

I was served by Jill and another girl. A great welcome from them both. Excellent value for money. The atmosphere in the pub was very nice. Plenty of TVs to watch any sport that was live.

Visited with my family last week, Shannon the server helped me with the menu and recommended drinks to myself and my husband. Food was delicious, such a good range for myself and my children. Will be returning again.

Decided to come somewhere new for a drink with my partner and really really liked the place. Nice, cosy and recently refurbished. Alice the barmaid recommended me their gins as they have so many and which ones were the nicest - lovely women. Would visit again!

Visited here recently after not going for quite some time, some new staff and a new manager who seems really friendly and outgoing. Was served by a blonde girl I believe was called Amelia, she was very pleasant and went out of her way to talk to us and make sure we enjoyed our visit. Had food which was very nice, the chick and mix a good option. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the pub had a great atmosphere with the staff looking after everyone while being efficient. Will be looking to go back more often now.

Can’t thank The Longship enough, especially Claire for going the extra mile for me when it was the final of the euros. I was told they were fully booked for the match but I asked that I could be contacted should there be any cancellations.I knew after that phone call that they would be true to their word and they didn’t give me the feeling that they were just telling me what I wanted to hear.Claire rang me the day before the match to let me know there was a space. I arrived with a friend and not only was there a space, she had managed to get us the best seats in the pub due to a cancellation.Really impressed with the service here, the food and drinks were great quality and although we didn’t get the outcome from the match we wanted, it was a great evening at The Longship.Thanks again.

My family and I booked a table at the Longship on 16th June for a meal to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The whole experience was excellent- very good food, served by friendly and helpful staff including Manager Paul and Kyle. They really looked after us well and even added candles to and served up the cake we had brought to share amongst the guests. Highly recommended. We will certainly return soon.

Me n the boys come here regularly to watch the footy and other sports events and play pool occasionally

Went to watch the England game and couldn't fault the service food and hospitality was fantastic..food was great and the drinks kept flowing.

We all arrived on Saturday and the service was brilliant ,food great and hot . Enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend .

The staff are great, the food is great and best of all the beer is great, and the pool table is spot on aswell. They have a grewt range of different gins and largers and the wine is a great range aswell :)

We visited on a Saturday and a Monday good friendly staff ,good food and drink ,great to watch the football as theres many large TVs all around ,good meal deals look forward to my next visit.

Came to the longship pub for a nice family meal and was amazed and happy with the atmosphere when entering. Staff were very kind and clean and safety measures were very good and put into place for COVID. During this awful time I understand a lot of people are avoiding pubs but when the security and cleanliness of a pub is this good I will defiantly be coming back for some more lovey pub food.Cheap, cheerful and bursting at the seams. The Longship is a great place for both food and a few beers, the staff and locals are all very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is great, nice and relaxed, the covid measures they have in place are second to none so if you want a safe friendly place for you or your family to go to for good food or just a few drinks look no further than the longship, highly recommended

I often go to the Longship pub for the quiz on a Thursday night. The staff are always cleaning and making sure the pub is safe for the customers. You can get a good pint and food is great. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Visited here for a meal with my mam and my son. Was greeted at the door by Claire who explained about track and trace and showed us to our seats. We both ordered a naked steak with salad and char sui topped chips. The whole meal was beautiful and the steak was cooked perfectly by liam. My son ate all his food and pudding! Social distancing is followed and government guidelines are followed also. Staff are warm and welcoming and cant do enough for you.

The longship is a great local pub for a beer/food with your m8s or with your family, great atmosphere, and all the staff are great and all ways go out there way to make you feel welcome. Great pool table and plenty of TVs to watch spot on in especially the 85" big screen.Would defo recommend to all to come and visit

The staff have and continue to do a great job ensuring the pub is safe for all to enjoy. It was great that it reopened with a safe environment in place so we can continue to enjoy a pint and a bite to eat. Keep up the great work - it's appreciated !!!

Visited today and procedures in place for Covid-19 are great. Felt safe throughout visit and staff are excellent in making sure rules are followed. Would recommend to anyone who is nervous about going out at this time.

We Ordered Gammon , Eggs and Chips, the Gammon was inedible, barely cooked, complained to the waiter who took them away, came back hardly different, we both had too leave the food as just could not eat it, absolutely terrible.

Living miles away and visiting family in the local area this is a great base for me. I have stayed here a few times and love the place. Always a good atmosphere in the pub with friendly clientele. Manager Paul and Staff ( Courtney ) always make you feel very welcome here. Good choice of beers and good food at a reasonable price. Accommodation clean and tidy. Will be back soon.

Been a while since we’ve been here. To be honest we were initially going to the cock crow inn but it was closed, doesn’t open until 12pm now. What’s that about.Hey ho never mind. So as usual I went for the all day breakfast which again was very nice.Staff were very welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed it.If I had to say one thing it is that the dining area was very cold but that might be because someone was keep going in and out if the door and not closing it properly. I had to get up and close it my self.But apart from that everything was grand.

I needed somewhere to eat while in Gateshead for the weekend and came across the Longship. It was one of the best quick eating places I have visited during my eighty odd years of living. Great food drinks at very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Who needs more.

Brilliant food well impressed popped in for my great aunts birthday was not disappointed, will the head chef came out with the birthday cake at just the right time made the night the steak was unreal would deffo recommend and will be back soon thanks again longship team

Had a nice afternoon here for drinks and food for a friend’s birthday. Nice food but not as filling as it was under different management. (It’s quite a few years since last ate here) The bar is the same as ever - just not enough staff on and you have to wait quite a while to be served. Nice friendly staff though. (Went in a Saturday late afternoon and football on the TV and only one member of staff for the bar)

This pub is lovely the staff are very friendly and efficient meal was served really quick too and was very nice I’ve been two days in a row now so that says it all

Wife and I busted last night as it’s just down the road we both ordered the beef and bacon burger and for an extra pound each included a choice of drink. Later we had a couple of bottles of red merlot total can to £40 which you can’t complain plus the burger was nice.

By Amazing Experience - I describe this place as Amazing if you want to visit somewhere that resembles a place from another world. Rated as Excellent only to see if the management and staff actually do anything to improve this place-because they don't if you give a negative review. If you like the following I'd highly recommend a visit1. Poor Service and Staff that seem to not care, and give you a death stare if you question anything2. Drunken Families arguing with each other/shouting and swearing at each other across the pub with young kids in their presence, staff don't do anything3. My partner told me the gents toilet resembled a swimming pool, and is frequented by coke fueled yobs and i don't mean the soft drink. 4. Apparently ladies...it is now also okay for drag queens to use the female toilets - staff just think this is funny judging by the smiles on their facesYes this place has it all (oh and if you're really lucky- enjoy the microwaved to bits food- great value)

Haven't been in for a while, and it's been done up since I was last in. Was a really nice place and I can only see it getting better since its refurbishment. Nice food and drinks, and a really good time to be had.

What a terrible experience we've just had, firstly I was charged for a pint and given a half, secondly ordered food for table 38,the lady who took our order walked around the bar looking for table 28, then realised after walking around the whole pub twice that it was our order. I ordered all day breakfast that had about 8 beans on, the sausage was hard on the ends as if it had been microwaved to heat up, only a few chips and I asked for cup of tea with the breakfast, this was brought about 10 minutes later and was cold. I discussed this with the manager and all ahe said was "do you want another cup of tea" ABSOLUTE DISGRACE DO NOT GO"

We were served today by the lovely Freda who is always a pleasure to speak to. We had food and a couple of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be returning xxx

Visited this pub for a couple of quiet pints Saturday Tea Time to meet up with some old friends. What a horrible experience this turned out to be. This was due to a group of drunken yobs, one of them with 2 extremely large Rottweiler dogs that were NOT on a lead and were wandering around the pub - whilst there were also Children running around and people eating. A member of the staff told the owner twice to tie them up and he did not. He simply wandered around after them whistling to the dogs. Amazingly the member of staff continued to serve this person and allowed him and his dogs to carry on. Then one of the dogs wandered around again and actually cocked its leg next to people who were eating !!! disgraceful and surely a health and hygiene violation. Eventually another member of staff had a word, but the fact that this was allowed to continue was unbelievable - don't know where the management were but this was horrible to witness !!!! so much for a quiet pint...it seems the staff tolerate anyone as long as they are spending money regardless of the state they are in, or their attitude combined with loud vulgar language...certainly won't be visiting this place again...it has the potential to be a nice pub but needs sorting out.

Serviced by a lady named Freda, excellent service and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back soon.

Had a super lunch with the family. Children’s portions were a generous size and very well priced. Lunch deal allowed for drinks to be added at a cheaper deal and all of the family were delighted with their choices. Freda who served us was fabulous and lovely with our young girls. Will definitely come again.

Spent weekend for business. Drink and meals very nice . Staff very prompt . Special shout out to Freda who always had smile and kept everyone laughing
