Park Lane in Torbay

From the moment, my friend and I entered Park Lane for Bottomless Brunch the service was exceptional. (Saturday 1pm) The place is stunning, very modern and chic. We opted for the bottomless pizza. These were stone baked, full of toppings and delicious! You are able to choose what drinks package you’d prefer. Prosecco, Gin or Cocktails. The prices vary on your drink selection. Thank you Emily for looking after us so well. We will definitely be back!!!!!

By far the worst bottomless brunch around. Didn’t receive our first cocktail until 30 minutes into the 2 hour brunch. When we questioned this with the waitress she was disgustingly rude and said “well it’s not me making the drinks is it” “we’re fully booked so” (deal with it basically!) there were empty tables and a lot of staff. Only one member of staff behind the bar actually making the drinks and all the rest were doing a lot of standing around waiting for the drinks to be made. We watched the bar tender making a round of cocktails and couldn’t believe the time it was taking so we started timing it and it was over 15 minutes to make 5 of the same cocktail. This didn’t fill us with much hope about the speediness of the service so we asked to switch to gin instead of cocktails as they are quicker to make and the waitress rudely said ‘ no I’ve put it through now’. We asked how long our drinks would be (waiting 20 mins at this point) She then said she’d only just put the order through and that we hadn’t been waiting that long! We ordered at 3.20pm and they arrived at 3.55pm! We asked if we could order 2 drinks at a time as it was taking over half an hour to make each cocktail and she said no. When the drinks finally did arrive another waitress brought them over and tried to walk away! We told her we’d like to order our next drink and she said “I’m not your server so I can’t do that” what on earth?????? Not the sort of service you’d expect at a bottomless brunch. Our waitress eventually came back, we’d all pretty much had enough at this point the attitude of the waitress was shockingly unprofessional. We weren’t prepared to sit there any longer and pay to be spoken to so poorly so we ended up walking out. We weren’t happy paying for a bottomless brunch and only getting one drink every half an hour, the worst part is this was actually our second time having an bad experience here but decided to give them a second chance! We never received any food the first time we came and ended up being refunded for poor/slow service, they said it had been down to being short staffed so being local and wanting to support individual businesses rather than chains we gave them another go. Unfortunately I just think this is how this business runs as they had plenty of staff this time. We then had to wait (again!) to speak to a manager to get our money back. The waitress then comes up to our party to start rowing with us!!! No one wanted to engage with her as she was embarrassing. She kept saying that she had been attentive to our table but the issue was the time waiting for drinks to be made and her lack of customer service/people skills. Shame as Parklane has a good atmosphere and could be an amazing brunch!

I went for a bottomless brunch with a friend and it was one of the best I’ve been to. We had the pizza and it was so yummy I highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza, delicious. The staff were so attentive and friendly, the food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was fab. A great way to spend an afternoon with friends.

Absolutely amazing, visited with the family to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary. We were a group of 8 adults, 3 children and 5 dogs holidaying in the area. We sat on the veranda and the service from Libby and Angel, and the other young girl was amazing. The pizza, cocktails and pancakes were delicious and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back when next in the area 😀

After not getting off to the best start upon arrival - the amazing cocktails and food made up for it! I made an online booking in advance, a few days before my booking the manager emailed me to double check if I was wanting the bottomless brunch menu or standard food/cocktails. I requested in the email to sit in a quieter seated area on the terrace. Upon arrival there was a large rowdy crowd out on the terrace and no tables had been reserved for our booking, or anybody else’s that had arrived around the same time as us. The staff had to ask the people to move closer together to create space, at which they became rowdy and security had to get involved to ask them to pay and move along. Once we were seated and ordered, it took about 15 minutes for our drinks to be brought out - I wouldn’t have said it was overly busy inside the restaurant. About 5 minutes later the waiter came out to inform us there had been an error on the till and they couldn’t put our order through correctly and would’ve had to use an expired deal they had saved on the till meaning we couldn’t order what we had originally requested. She said she would go and speak to the manager to try and resolve it - it was all very confusing but after a while she came back out to say it had resolved itself. It was almost an hours wait for a pizza and a plate of dough balls - although it was absolutely delicious, piping hot and you could tell it had been all made fresh! The waiting staff were very attentive. The cocktail choice was probably some of the best I’ve seen and an added bonus that their 2 for £12 deal didn’t have to be the same 2 cocktails like a lot of places! Despite a rocky start we had an enjoyable evening here and would definitely be back to visit again :)

Hired for a 40th birthday party. Excellent space with seating areas, amazing bar, dance floor etc. Staff really helpful in the run up - particularly when it looked like we may have to change our plans they were amazing accomodating! Our guests loved the karaoke and the cocktails were amazing. Thank you so much!

Stopped in here easter Sunday ,looking for somewhere nice to get some cocktails that wasn’t sticky and dirty ,like some “drinkers” pubs are Totally blown away ,there were not many in there being Easter Sunday but the staff were fabulous,two young ladies couldn’t do enough and were friendly and attentive,we sampled a number of different cocktails ☺️☺️ and even had a couple of special ones made ,decor is fantastic,a lovely adult cocktail lounge ,we will be back when we visit again

A few of us came here on a Saturday afternoon for the Bottomless Brunch with cocktails. I haven't been to Park Lane for a number of years; I was expecting sticky floor and terrible music. The pizzas were lovely and so much of it! The cocktails were delicious and a massive variety to choose from. We all stated what incredible value for money it was £27.50 for unlimited pizza and unlimited cocktails. Our only minor criticism was the unnecessarily loud music & the heating being on! Other than that, a really brilliant afternoon!

I just want to get straight that we didn’t eat here so this is purely from an impromptu drop in for cocktails. We looked over the cocktail menu which wasn’t too extensive which I like. I love things with lemon and spotted lemon meringue cocktail. So ordered one of those. The guy behind the bar seemed very quiet almost shy. He disappeared then came back saying he had ran out of the ingredients. Now this is approx 6.45 on a Saturday night. Hmmmmm. So I ordered something else and so did the other 4. In total we ordered 6 cocktails. 40 minutes later we were able to sit down with our cocktails. Hmmmmm. There were no beer mats and the condensation from the glasses was making the table wet and the glass was slipping so we asked for a mat or something. Apparently they don’t have mats so we were given a green and white tea towel (see piccy). Hmmmm. This is a real shame because the place looks chic, clean and inviting. Probably won’t go back.

You got to love Park Lane they have got a lot of class. The drinks and service is number ONE in Torquay. Now the new menu looks and tastes great just good quality items with the best produce. If you want a cheap meal there are lots of chain pubs in the area but if you want a touch of class Park Lane is the place to eat and drink. Thanks for a lovely lunch the burger was amazing.

The cocktails were MAGNIFICENT. We had a Lemon Meringue and a Porn Star Martini - both were absolute quality. In fact, we were so impressed we had two of each! Recommended 100%.

We visited here sunday afternoon in the hours between lunch and dinner so it was virtually empty here. We were given a cheery welcome from the waitress and shown our table. Drinks were served quickly. We both ordered Sirloin Steak, mine with pink peppercorn sauce, the wife's with blue cheese sauce. The waitress checked to make sure our drinks were ok. When the food arrived, it looked great. The taste was wonderful, the steak fell apart and was cooked exactly to order. The sauce was really peppery and thick as was the blue cheese sauce, very good. The piste de la resistance however was the chips, I haven't had chips that well cooked for many many years. The waitress checked if our meal was ok and checked if we had enough drinks, very attentive without being obtrusive. This was a very good meal. I must compliment the chef and the waitress who smiled and laughed her way through the service which is a nice change.

Six of us (all family) + my daughters' dog met up in Torquay and were looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch. Having a dog with us was going to limit the options so we were happy when Park Lane said they were happy for us to come in. I have to say my expectations were low bot Wow how wrong I was. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The food was really good. I had roast beef. So often I've had it at other places and it's been touhh and chewy but not here. It was slightly pink and thinly sliced and really tender. The vegetables were served in dishes so the plates weren't overloaded. The server said if we needed more we just needed to ask. It was a pleasant surprise and I highly recommend this place for a tasty and inexpensive Sunday lunch (£10)

My family and I have just had the most delicious meal in Park Lane. The chicken burger is out of this world, the monkfish scampi was so delicious and the chicken Bon Bon’s were like nothing we had ever tasted. My uncle had the steak poutine and said it was the beat thing he’d ever eaten!The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Jade, our waitress was so attentive and friendly and was so lovely with our 3 year old.We will definitely be returning on our next weekend in Torquay. Park Lane is a must for food in Torquay.

When we come to Torquay we always eat at park lane and I book a week in advance. We got there I was told we couldn’t sit at the table I reserved someone else was there, the only other people in the place was a couple down by the door, we where shown to a table by them. The menu had changed and not for the best,the choice wasn’t good. All the time we where in there no one else came in. Sorry to say we will not be visiting the place again

My wife and I went to Park Lane for our wedding anniversary as it was one of our favourite restaurants in the Bay, but I am extremely disappointed.

Just had lunch with my family at park lane wow it was amazing. A young lady called JADE looked after our table and nothing was to much trouble. Very professional even rembered our names from our last visit. The place was clean and looking like a top class place it really is. My wife told me the chocolate Browne she had for pudding was one of the best she has tasted. Thank you again for a classy perfect afternoon. We will be back for mother’s day as my wife would go no where else for her special day.

Wednesday night meal deal 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £25

Birthday meal with friends, table of 9.. We raved about it as the last time was amazing... This time though, friendly service, but let down by the food.

Wow what a fantastic meal. This place is extraordinary - having eaten the ‘pub’ menu here before I knew the quality was good, but had a Valentine meal with my husband who questioned coming here for a meal as in his words ‘it’s a club isn’t it?’. I can honestly say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever tasted. Chicken parfait to start with amazing crackling on the side, melt in the mouth duck breast for mains with a duck l’orange scotch egg, fondant potatoes - the scotch egg was on another level that could be a meal on its own, then a ‘jaffa’ bar and milkshake for dessert all washed down with a free bottle of Prosecco. I genuinely felt that I was in a top class London restaurant or on Masterchef or something!! Whoever designed that menu deserves recognition and for Park Lane to be a restaurant in its own right, not a club that serves food because it’s wasted as it is!

Great offer, lovely food, friendly staff, shame it was so quiet. Two steaks, bottle of wine for £25 is an absolute bargain, steaks cooked as requested and we thought it was a great place.

Just got back from park lane wow what a great afternoon. Food was perfect I had the beef Sunday roast loads of veg a crispy roast potatoes. Sad to say new menu for Sunday lunch was not good. The chicken was pale (microwaved?) and quite pink/bloody. The vegetables were soggy and roast potatoes hard. It may have just been an off day for the Chef but the Sunday roast last winter were delicious. I know my friends did not enjoy their meal and won't return.

Excellent food and great friendly service from helpful staff. Would highly recommend - They let us pre-order food and drinks as we only had an hour and drinks were waiting for us when we arrived and food followed as soon as we sat down. Brilliant.

We went for a steak in a Monday evening as group of four, the place was very quiet at just after 9pm.

I have been visiting that place for 5 years and after yesteday I will not go to there anymore!!! They have never been charging me or my friends for the SODA WATER and I paid for double vodka and red bull with two glasses of soda water £8.70!!! I did ask another barman how much is for the soda water and the answer was : It's free...I get confused. I went outside to see the owner, who was charging people for entry. He said they are always charging for soda water.When I asked how much, he said £.1.8 What a joke haha for 5 years I was getting it for free. Soon they gonna charge for the tap water Later on, my husband went to buy another vodka and red bull, he gave £20 and he got back £5!!!!When the barman saw his angry face, he gave him £10 more saying ohh sorry. Sorry Park Lane, but not all of the people going out and ordering drinks at 2am are pissed enough to cheat them giving less change!!And make one rule about soda water as barman charged me £1.50 per glass, owner said £.1.80 and another barman that is free...

fourth time always a pleasure, friendly, polite staff and comfortable atmosphere noted though that the menu had been changed, not as much on there this time? all the same the food is delicious and I would recommend this restaurant for any event excellent.

Just had lunch at PARK LANE food was great and even more of a bonus 50% off. The staff very professional and the place looks great. Monday 50% off is a big wow I will be back soon thank you for a great afternoon.

There were 4 of us dining, 2 had mixed grills, 1 had sirloin and 1 salmon steak with risotto. The stesks were overcooked and frankly quite tasteless. The sirloin was just about ok, although not cooked medium rare as had been asked for. The salmon was ok but the risotto over salty. When the manager was told about the steaks, he said that because there was 50% off the food, there wasn’t much he could do! Implying that we should put up with badly cooked steaks just because they were chesper. Didn’t seem to care much about the customers eating experience. We were eventually offered a free drink or desert, we chose a night cap and were brough TWO Irish coffees, there were 4 at the table, so seemed very chirlish. All in all, average food and disappointing service.

We visited in Early October as a couple and felt the need to leave a good review, to help others like ourselves who wanted to eat out somewhere which was of a good quality but not too pricey.

Visited here on monday...yes it was half price meal night. ..but... food mediocre and service very slow. ..nice red wine though!! Wouldn't go back... sorry!

Having spotted the half price Mondays offer and read some reviews I thought this was going to be a winner, but I couldn't have been more wrong. We popped in early to see if we could book a table and was told there was no need, so turned up at 7p.m. to be told there was only a table for 4 (we are a family of 5) but they could put a chair on the end. The décor and ambience felt good so we sat down. the menu is extensive and offered a good selection for children. We ordered both food and drink by 7.15p.m. but whilst the drinks turned up in 5 mins there was still no sign of food by 8p.m. When we were asked we were told that it would be no more than 5 minutes. We were hoping this was due to food being cooked in order by sadly when it finally arrived an hour after we ordered it, it was clearly not the case. The kids hamburger had clearly been sat drying out on the pass for quite a while, while the chips were barely warm. My other daughter had chicken goujons which were such a dark brown they had clearly been overcooked, yet the pot of gravy served with it was cold - and I mean out of the fridge cold. My fajitas looked good (though I wasn't sure why it was served with raw cabbage!!). However the peppers and onions were dripping in oil and there were several pieces of crisp onion skin in it. The chicken was grilled but had no seasoning/ flavour on it making the whole thing taste greasy and bland. We ate what we could as everyone was so hungry having not eaten since lunch but we brought all these issues to the attention of the waitress, who was not interested and didn't utter an sort of apology. She offered to warm the gravy but not the children's chips. She actually wanted to argue with me that the cabbage was in fact an unusual form of lettuce! We didn't stop for pudding but even asking for the bill was too much and after 15 minutes, that hadn't arrived either. In the end we went to the bar were we found someone else waiting for the manager to appear from upstairs in order to take their complaint further. One other customer came to ask where his dinner was and when told it was only going to be another 5 minutes, he had the sense to leave!

Visiting a friend in Torquay. Arrived at the restaurant with reservation but wasn’t a problem. They have a great varied menu and very spacious as clean restaurant.

Second visit here, cannot fault the quality of the food, great selection of cocktails also. Waitress did give us the wrong wine, but didn’t matter to us. Would visit again.

I never get bored of going here when we visit Torquay. The staff are so friendy, the food is outstanding for the price. It is such good value for money and the salmon salad is the best salmon salad I have ever had it is absolutely divine.

We came across park lane. We started with cocktails & bottle off wine, we ordered food from the menu. Staff are very friendly . Food was to a high standard. Hot, and tasted great. We will return again.

Great visit as always. Food was awesome (bbq chicken melt) and beer nice and lively. Been going once a week for the last few months, faultless every time.

Returned on Tuesday for another meal staff very rude did not welcome us and basically we just might as well been self service ordered our meal was not the same as on menu and when we had finished no one came to see if we wanted a sweet or more drinks needless to say will not be returning we were very disappointed the two members of staff seemed more interested in talking to each other

Travelled to Torquay from Leeds to spend time with friends, service from the rude member of staff was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced! That kind of customer service simply isn’t acceptable, the manager explained we weren’t the first customers to complain about this particular girl (why the hell is she still working for you then mate?)

Friends visiting from Leeds thought take them here ! Awful service !!! Shocking behaviour from a member of staff !! She needs to be sacked !! Plus , a young girl serving only 16 years old WTF...... asked for money back and honestly wouldn’t bother going there ever again !

My partner and I work in catering & have struggled to find a great place to eat, we came across Park Lane when staying in Torquay. Absolutely amazing. Staff were friendly & attentive. Food was beautiful. Best we've ever had.

Have often walked past and wondered what the restaurant would be like and today just popped in for a dessert - as a little birthday treat - waitress really helpful and pleasant, and deserts lovley - will definitely return to have a meal.

Called in on the off chance of getting a table, obviously very busy as it is bank holiday Monday, regatta and fireworks. Also noted it was 50%off a main !!!! The staff were wonderful , accommodating and very friendly. Seated the five of us after moving some tables . Excellent knowledge of their menu. Very good vegetarian menu, outstanding gluten free menu. This is the 3rd time in 2 years we have wandered in off the street , no booking and always a group of us. Never been let down. Food served all together, beautifully presented and hot.

Having been to park lane to eat on many occasions ,I was a little surprised when I went in today to book a table and was told we have stopped taking bookings until 9.15.We have tables but they are for people walking in off the street. I am not going to knock park lane but I do find it strange that when they want the locals business in the middle of winter or on a Sunday in febuary for Sunday lunch they are very happy to take your reservations and want the local support. I am just very disappointed at their customer service.

I am writing this review before even leaving the restaurant to ensure I don't forget. We are a party of 4 and all of us had tasty home cooked food and will return tomorrow night to sample more of the ample choice on the menu. Staff are very friendly and really helpful. Atmosphere great. Highly recommended.

Brief summary. Waited ages for the food. Was told there was an incident in the kitchen! Warm bread and olives to start. Was ok. Mains courses were both burgers. The burgers tasted like very cheap frozen burgers that were served in football grounds in the 80s. To be fair we complained and the staff understood and Maria we got 50% off the bill. Sadly our view is a little tainted. Hopefully it was a one off as this place normally gets good reviews.

So much furn! A really great idea for a hen do. 13 of us being taught how to make cocktails, doing challenges and time trials against each other. The bar staff Joe and Vicky were excellent, the drinks were delicious and they did amazing mocktails for the designated drivers!

An impromptu visit on a Saturday night resulted in a gorgeous meal in lovely modern surrounding served by such lovely staff!! The menu was varied enough for most tastes and when the food came it’s was excellent! Highly recommended.

We sat outside which was relaxing. Torquay was so busy but Park lane didn't seem to be. Food was good, my pizza was lovely! Couldn't fault the place at all. Would return.

We dropped by for lunch whilst on day visit to Torquay, because I noticed it offered vegan food. Luckily it wasn't busy, but a bit cool outside so we dined in. The interior was minimal yet modern, with waitresses dressed smartly and working efficiently. My partner had the Mexican Burger with fries and coleslaw side (the burger was massive), which was really juicy and succulent apparently. I had the vegan lasagne with ciabatta and side salad, and everything tasted amazing and freshly made. Although the high quality was reflected in the price, it is the best 'proper' vegan food I've had since Monday 30th July.

I went on a Monday for a birthday party. The restaurant advertised a 50% off on all mains. I took full advantage of that and ordered a steak. It was gorgeous! cooked to perfection and for the price i was more than happy to pay. I ordered a few cocktails too and they were lovely. Was surprised with how quickly the food came out considering my table had 10 people on it. Will definitely be returning.

Booked a table for Monday and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was 50% off! A few of us were out celebrating a birthday and the staff were amazing. Our table even had balloons on it which was really nice touch! The waitress was friendly and took our order quickly. We had a few people with dietary needs in our group but this was not a problem at all. Within minutes our drinks arrived and then our food. The food was amazing we were all so happy with our orders. Would definitely visit again.

Went for food with a friend and we were Welcomed and seated warmly by staff very efficient and pleasant as well as well presented. The restaurant was rather busy so we asked to be sat outside as it was a warm evening.

I had a great meal, staff were very friendly. Overall lovely atmosphere! I would defiantly recommend!

I went to park lane on a Thursday as I am a vegan & they have a ‘vegan Thursday’ Deal and I was so amazed with all the different vegan options - desserts included! Very happy. Although, i would have enjoyed the meal more if it have vegan coleslaw.

Have eaten at Park Lane many times in the past but have recently changed their menu. I had the rump steak and it was cooked perfectly rare and was very tender. Will be returning on a Wednesday as they have a steak and wine deal!

Me and some of my family members were looking for a smart, yet affordable place to eat on a saturday afternoon and found ourselves at Parklane. The staff we're friendly and proffessional while making sure we were all satisfied, the food was amazing, very carefully crafted and made with love. All in all i was over the moon with my experience here and will be coming again very soon.

Go here regularly. It’s an amazing place to be on a night out or even during the daytime. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit

Awful doorman violent bullies wouldnt recommend going unless ure a large man as they attack the vulnerable.

Steak kann man hier nicht essen! Absolut zäh, viel zu dünn und totgebraten, Salat völlig trocken. Die Chips waren okay. Schlechter kann man ein Stück Fleisch nicht „zurichten“. Das war auch kein versehen, man sah es beiden Steaks schon an, ohne sie zu probieren. Ich beschwere mich normalerweise nie, aber das war echt eine Unverschämtheit!

We went last night and as an offer was on it seemed too good to miss. We where seated and our drinks orders were swiftly taken and appeared. Once our order was taken we were then told their was a 30 minute wait on food . A good restaurant would tell you that before any orders are taken. The tables all round us were complaining about the wait time. The food was ok - my Pizza looked like a frozen one and today I dont feel too good. All in all not really what I expected.

Location is average, next to the road very noisy. Had 2 steaks that were the worst I've had eating out. Overcooked, full of gristle, dry as a bone with zero flavour. £15 each as well. Staff not attentive, no asking if you need anything with your meal, salt, pepper, vinegar etc, just put your plate in front of you and scarper. VERY quiet so no excuse. There are much better places to visit than this in the town that I don't see why anyone would repeat visit. Going for the high end look decor wise but skimping on the food quality and service. You have been warned.

I was disappointed with Park Lane and probably wouldn't go again. I had fahitas and I honestly think the packs you get to do yourself are better. The steak was overcooked and a bit chewy and wasn't really spiced enough. And expensive at £13 although I wouldn't mind paying that if I had enjoyed them. Cocktails were nice but again a bit over priced at £9. Staff friendly but service slow and it wasn't busy so no excuse. In a word mediocre.

Visited as a large party. The food was ok but really nothing special, menu quite limited. Good range of cocktails but service very slow, although staff friendly. Wouldn't go again.

Amazing drinks and cocktails served by excellent staff. Great music played by professional dj’s. Good atmosphere

I recently participated in a cocktail making masterclass for a friend's hen party. Joe and Victoria were absolutely fantastic! We played games, made cocktails and had a great time- would recommend!

We chose Park Lane as the menu caught our eye as we walked past and decided to grab some dinner. Once again, we were not let down.
