Good food, great selection of drinks. Friendly staff, dog friendly. One of my favourite pubs in Paignton.

Traditional pub. Friendly staff. Good pub food. Good atmosphere. Air conditioning runs on hot days.

Friendly family pub real ales they serve food but we didn't have any we will next time down .

Fantastic home cooked food. Option on the steak pie for new potatoes instead of chips was very welcome. Cottage pie was amazing and the lasagna soo tasty. Beautiful fresh veg cooked to perfection. Will definitely be eating there again. Thank you

Lovely bar, friendly staff, whilst we were in the area we went in for one of their famous roast dinners but unfortunately was too late 4pm sold out, so we had a meal anyway great food generous portions. Will definitely be back at some point to try a roast, We had steak & pie and fish & chips.

Such a fab little find great pub with fantastic food. The portion size was good very filling. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

The premises are clean and tidy, the service fast and correct. But the food is not good. If you want to have a beer and hang out, it's probably a good place, but not here.

A really inviting and friendly pub with delicious fresh cooked food and a great range of drinks at very reasonable prices. This was the best pub in the area that we found when in Paignton for the weekend. It’s how pubs should be but rarely found nowadays. Definitely worth checking out.

A Really rude member of staff !! We waited ages for food , dogs were allowed in , my tiny chihuahua was sat on top of 3 coats not touching the furniture , the older woman member of staff who was clearing the table after our meal was so rude to us saying the dog wasn’t allowed on furniture , I said that I didn’t realise , saying that there wasn’t any sign and that the dog was on top of a pile of coats ! She snapped that there was signage on the door saying so ( which there wasn’t ) spoke to myself and my family in a really rude manner about how we shouldn’t of done that as they’ve just had a refurb, was patronising and ruined our day to be honest as the lovely young girl who brought the food was lovely kind and helpful and seen the dog there and never said anything !!! The older lady that was so rude upset my 83 year old mum being so rude to us ! would not recommend this place , no Disabled toilet access either , I wouldn’t expect to be abused by a member of staff in a pub !! I wouldn’t bother , as you can see on the photo no sign on the Door !!

Great food at Henry's we had been staying at a well known hotel on the prom,the food was dreadful so decided to have some decent food couldn't fault it . Thanks.

Right from the booking to being here I felt in good hands. They tend to have a policy of taking bookings by the hour but, if you explain your situation, they will accommodate you as best they can. In my case, I was coming by rail which would arrive on the hour so, due to my disability, it would take me some time to reach the bar. I was also offered a window seat (yes, with my quirky humour, I did wonder whether the bar was in the shape of an aircraft!). Upon arrival, I approached the bar, and I was shown to my (yes) window table (all to myself). The signs were already good, as every table was taken inside and almost also outside. I placed my order at the bar, being served by a very polite and helpful barmaid and, despite being busy, offered to take my drink to my table. After a few minutes, I saw the chef heading my way with a large plate (I should have read the large print with it saying a 10 oz Gammon!) and which also contained a decent amount of proper chunky chips, a bowl of garden peas and both a fried egg and pineapple as standard. I was also asked if I wanted any sauces and a short time later the same friendly and efficient barmaid arrived with 6 (!) sachets of HP. The meal was hot and cooked to perfection. Dessert of piping hot caramel apple pie and, in my case, two scoops of ice cream. Thank goodness I had the ice cream to cool down the pie! One downside, as I have a disability, was getting to the toilets as I had to negotiate two flights of stairs. I found the toilets to be clean. I would highly recommend this establishment and I would also recommend booking in advance.

Fab food lovely selection of drinks, cider, ales, beers. Real ale, real food in a real pub. Fantastic music. We are down for the Raf airshow.

Went in with my mum last night as down for the weekend. Thought we would give this place a go. Exactly what I was hoping it would be. A great traditional pub. With decent food portions and friendly staff. Food was superb. Prices really good. All served with big smiles. 👍

Didn't have food but went twice on a weekend break. Brilliant company, great staff. Such a welcoming pub, so laid back so friendly. Definitely going back when I visit Paignton again.

To many dogs not good with food.

Traditional style pub a short level distance from the seafront - which serves good food. Large range of ciders and ales on offer. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Toilets may be inaccessible to some as they are upstairs.

I ordered the Sunday roast and asked for a side plate so that my daughter and I could share - this was not a problem at all. The food came out and every bite was just delicious - roasties gorgeous and crisp and homemade Yorkshire puds! The meat was so tender! My partner had the fish which he said was the best he’d had in a long time (big compliment from a fish and chips enthusiast!) Think we might have to return next Sunday! Thanks so much! Popped in for some lunch, outstanding, the staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I had the lasagne, homemade, and it was lovely fresh and hot. Will definitely visit again thank you!

Excellent bar had too meals for £15 thought would be small portions how wrong I was Highly recommend staff excellent and good range of drinks including ales

Rufus my Vizsla dog is very choosy when it comes to pubs. He always drags me in to Henry’s when we are in Paignton. That speaks volumes. Food and service superb. Rufus made to feel very welcome. If he’s happy I’m happy. So we both give it 5 out of 5. Highly recommended.

The staff seem friendly but are quite abrupt and you have to spend over £5 to make a card purchase. I don’t drink as fast as my husband so if he wanted just a pint he couldn’t get one . But main issue was with the obvious ‘the staff want to go home’ feeling that you get ages before last orders. Music off, lights up, sweeping and cleaning around you . Felt so uncomfortable. Won’t wish to visit again

Went into this pub for a family holiday dinner. The sign outside saying gourmet burgers drew us in. Burgers were average and I wouldn’t say gourmet. They got two things wrong on our order and the kitchen staff were not apologetic just saying that they were doing what was put through on the till. No one checked that everything was ok with our meals. Barman was friendly. I wouldn’t return though.

This is a follow on reviews from a review left on Google reviews... i am shock u accused us of barging in your pub at 11.45 if that's how u feel maybe you should have had the door lock until u went open. We arrive early as any decent customer does when they have invited family out for a meal. We can not help it if u are so rude to shout from behind the bar and say your not open that within itself is rude hardly friendly or welcoming. There carling beer pipes weren't even cleaned properly hence nearly a full pint being left. They stuck us in a tight little corner when the table was pre booked in advance. The business is failing because its rude towards paying customers to say we were only there 4 minutes when we were They actually til 12.30... This owner/manager takes no responsibility for bad or negative feedback and the replies they give to feedback is to make them look good as s business not what the truth is hence why me or my family would never enter this place again...

Myself and my Wife visited Paignton in September for a week with our little Jack Russel with knew Henry's was dog friendly so we used it every evening for a meal and drinks ( sometimes too many drinks) because it was good value and a nice welcoming atmosphere, we made the same trip in December for a long weekend same thing Henry's every evening couldn't fault it , we have just had another long weekend in Paignton Henry's again first 2 nights put our coats over the seats for our little dog to sit on lots of customers stopped and stroked her lovely nights had again, then on the 3rd night a Barlady behind bar which was the first time we had seen her this weekend was very abrupt and said our little dog could not sit on our coats on the seat or even on my wife's lap she said all 4 paws had to be on the floor, we were a party 6 adults ( the youngest being 64 ) and a small we were all going to a meal and drinks if your staff can afford to turn £180- £240 worth of trade on a wet and windy January night why stay open after 6 -30 on a Sunday evening.

Proper,good,value yet respectable pub with a pleasant atmosphere

Terrible wouldn't come back... we're told to get here for 12 we arrived 15 mins early and we're told they were not open yet so we went had a look around the shops. We finally got in and we're place by the door that could only be described as a toilet cubicle... This was idea having someone disabled with us as well not an ideal place to sit. We finally walked out snd went elsewhere.. im surprised by reading such good reviews on this place how badly we were treated as customers so went elsewhere.. Thanks Henry's bar for making us feel so squeeze together hope u don't treat all your customers like this.

Popped in here for a quick visit, specifically craving fish and chips! Ordered Hand Battered Fish and Chips and a side salad. We were amazed by what was delivered less than 10 minutes later. A large piece of fish coated in a perfect tasty crispy batter, plenty of chips and a good serving of really fresh tasting garden peas. The salad was incredible for less than £3. I am a frequent eater of side salads and this was one of the best ever received. Fresh shredded lettuce, cucumber spears and halves of baby plum tomatoes and crispy red pepper topped with mild red onion and with a salad dressing. Friendly service in a traditional pub type restaurant.

We visited Henry's bar several times on our break.We only had drinks on these visits but have eaten here on several occasions .The food is all fresh Sunday lunches are well worth the money as is rest of meals.Very clean and cosy dogs are allowed.The Christmas decorations are beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic! Nothing more to add. These folks go above and beyond in all that they do, and I absolutely cannot fault them. The food is fantastic, the environment is fantastic, and these guys never deny a guest even the most ridiculous request.

Went there for dinners when we were house hunting- good knowledgeable staff plenty of different beers even had Newcastle brown ale! From the fridge no less - very enjoyable. But the best bit is the food, roasts come with six vegetables Yorkshire pudding and stacks of meat all looked home cooked and fresh too. The lasagna was delicious and homemade, steaks cooked to perfection we couldn’t fault anything a really good experience.

We found Henry's several years ago on our hols in Paignton and enjoyed many a good meal there. We're back holidaying along the coast and took a trip to Paignton. Henry's is still just as good. Friendly staff and great food. A good choice of non alcoholic drinks for the driver. Bonus that it's dog friendly too.

We recently visited the area for a short break and we stumbled across this little gem. The decor was lovely and quirky and the atmosphere was so relaxing. The bartender demonstrated excellent customer service, he was friendly, diligent and welcoming. The pricing was very fair.

Went to Paignton while we were on holiday in Devon found this lovely friendly pub we went in there for lunch only problem I say it was to big portions not a problem if you got a big appetite 😀 The staff was friendly the food was delicious and the place was spotless

Paignton has changed so much .It is just full of chavs. Rough,Kids swearing & shouting.We came here on our first night .There was a group in there just shouting & swearing not caring that people were trying to eat & have a quiet drink.The food was poor.We had a steak which was tastless.We only had 3 nights in Paignton and I will never return.Its horrible& dirty.

This is a gem which you could easily walk past without realising what you've missed!! went in for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed, the food was plentiful, fresh and tasty for a very modest amount!! a wide selection of real ales snd ciders were available, but the best of all for the non drinkers is that Guinness Zero is available (not all non alcohol drinkers like lager!!). a further visit on my birthday for drinks was also pleasant. Nice clean toilets and pleasant staff!!
