Food is amazing. Always busy. So best to book or get in early. Staff are friendly and has outside seating in the warmer months.

Been here multiple times, it is always busy but never feels crowded. Staff are always polite and efficient. Their breakfasts are the best in the area, everything is always absolutely delicious, fresh and hot. Excellent value for the quality of food and service. I genuinely couldn't fault the place. Will keep coming back!

My wife and I came across the Driftwood Cafe whilst walking around St Marychurch. We both enjoyed our coffee and toasted teacakes. The service was good and the atmosphere was too. The best thing is the prices !!

Had read in the reviews there were good vegan options when we asked as we could not see any they said we don't offer vegan as people that live round here aren't vegan. They offered to adapt 2 things to vegan but it meant taking things off and having less food. Not really what you want. I heard the waitress ask the chef what vegan options do we have? He grumpily replied none. Rude. The waitress was friendly n helpful as much as she could be. The plant based "milks" as advertised for 50p extra only consisted of oat, so that's not "milks" that's just oat, but as I'm allergic to oat i had to have a black coffee. Whats happened to cheap old soya milk. I probably sound like an old moan but when you read the reviews saying good vegan options n in Google search it comes up as that under vegan friendly you expect more. Sorry but had to give honest experience. Family that were not vegan enjoyed their food.

Stopped here after our visit to the babbacombe model village. This little cafe was only a 5min walk away. Service was quick and friendly. Food prices and portion sizes were spot on. Definitely get great value for your money.

The Cafe has a very nice atmosphere and if it's nice outside that's what we did sat outside next time we are shopping we will call in again.

Was staying in Devon for a week and ended up eating here three times. Each time the food was delicious, fresh and good value for money. The cafe is also dog friendly as well, which was really nice for our cavapoo Stanley. The staff were very attentive and friendly and would definitely recommend Driftwood Cafe to anyone going to Devon or any locals that haven't tried it. Thanks for great few experiences in your cafe and keep up the great work.

Friendly service with nice food

Didn't like dogs being in the cafe. Plenty of seats outside. My hubby thought he was in a dog's kennel. 2 large dogs with 2 owners. Never known it anywhere else before.

Lovely cafe with a good choice of food options to suit everyone. We had a lovely lunch here and the staff were helpful and service was friendly and prompt.

I got a cream scone and jam and a coffee. It was sold as a cream tea. You could have any kind of coffee included in the price. Very reasonable and a good scone too.

We popped in and had a cooked breakfast which was excellent and nicely cooked. An added bonus was the price it was very good value for money. I am not a local but if I find myself in the area again I would definitely call in. Many thanks.

Lovely lunch with the family. Had a tired toddler with me and they accommodated us fantastically. Food was good, cheap compared to a lot of the tourist traps in the area this time of the year.

Great little cafe. Very accomodating for a family with kids. A few of us returned a few days later and received the same friendly treatment. The food was very well presented, and not overly expensive. You get what you pay for here. Would return again.

Best checking before hand if you expect lunch on the go. Three times we have stopped by on our lunch break. First time we had a lovely lunch, second time went at 2pm to be told they had stopped serving and and third time at 12.30 to be told they don’t do take away. It wasn't very busy the third visit in fact 2 people were in sitting at tables. Luckily there are places close by you can grab lunch otherwise I’d be annoyed at having to pay to park as well as wasting time.

I spend way too much money dining out, and whilst I cannot say this is the best breakfast I've EVER had in Torquay, if there is a better breakfast out there it'll need to be better than spectacular to beat this place. It was busy but I was welcomed in with a smile. Great coffee (didn't finish the coffee if you remember me, I was too full from breakfast, I came on my own and sat near the stairs. Really cold canned drink and the breakfast was sublime. The restaurant is clean and bright and had a great atmosphere. But now I'm feeling sad. Because I move away in a few weeks to my hometown and I KNOW there isn't a cafe like it there (Tewkesbury) Keep up the good work!

Delicious breakfast! Lovely staff and quick service

Smashed avocado with poached egg and chili jam was very nice. The coffee was average, very foamy for a flat white and way too hot. Staff were very nice and the place was quite busy. Seating indoors and outside. Takeaway sandwiches looked massive!

Lovely place to visit for a light bite or just to have a cuppa and some cake. Very clean and friendly staff, shall be returning for a breakfast.

Had a delicious vegetarian breakfast here! I was too full to finish, so it was great value for money. The staff were polite and the interior was homely and well decorated.

Visited Driftwood cafe last week for breakfast. Came back today and was faced with the worst customer experience in a long time. Cafe was busy which is understandable, we said happy to wait outside for next available table waited for 45mins and when table became free was told no this is reserved. NO APOLOGY and they knew we were waiting. Extremely rude behaviour and unacceptable service. Sorely disappointed.

There was a reduced menu (as is expected in the current circumstances) but everything was still super fresh & high quality. Absolutely delicious! My go-to breakfast place in Torquay. Limited number of tables so you have to be very lucky on the busier days if you want to just walk in.

Breakfast a few times at the Driftwood and it was excellent. My wife at the smashed Advocaat and I had the full English. Great quality from local resourced product, Service was brilliant and a lovely setting and well worth a visit.

Lunch with my daughter and grandson, very welcoming to window table, good menu selection, a nice relaxing place in the St Marychurch precinct. I had bacon&mushroom omelette, exceptionally good. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and eating here.

We're back at this enterprising café following lockdown and taking advantage of the current Rishi Dishi meal deal. Tables spilling out into the precinct amongst the planters carefully tended to by the Babbacombe Bay Bloomers. Excellent café fare and doggy friendly both inside and out to boot. Lovely team under the watchful eye of Tanya Lasagna.

Beautiful place, service was wonderful and they kept on top of cleaning services. Well paced out tables. Food was good, very fast and cheap! This is our first time in this area and we will definitely return in the future!

We simply ask if there was disabled access and we were sneered at and told 'Outside'. We would not recommend this cafe!

Been coming in here for a while now. Food is always nice and the presentation was always good. Was wondering if they had changed the chef, as now all the food is piled on top of each other then the toast placed on top of that. Very messy. Might be just me, but I like the food to look nice on my plate. I don't expect to rearrange my food so I can see what I'm eating. Also I've noticed the sauce seems to taste very strong of vinegar. It won't stop me coming in here. Was just wondering that was all.

Had a few breakfast here and can honestly say that its the best . Can't fault at all . Always busy which is always a good sign . Definitely recommend.

Amazing breakfast-we had a gluten free full English and porridge with syrup! Very tasty food-great portion size and the cafe is super cute and cosy! My 7month old son enjoyed some breakfast in a decent highchair! Cosy cafe but perfect! Great little find!

I’ve been to the driftwood a few times and have never been disappointed. If you’re looking for quality fresh food this is the one! I’ve seen some comments on the price but it’s really reasonable. It’s fresh. Good ingredients. Made to order. They offer foods for dietary requirements too. Cakes are homemade in house. The staff are friendly and welcoming

Just popped in while waiting and had a lovely Latte. Good blend and well made. What a wonderful and friendly place! I will definitely be back soon to sample the food, which looks really tasty. I'm told by a leaving customer that they have the best Eggs Benedict; looking at their local suppliers, I don't doubt it for a moment. I will be coming back soon to test that out. First time I have been to this cafe as my friend has just moved in around the corner. We went for breakfast which was lovely. Good selection of food and drinks and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Couldn't rate this place more. Went with my 18 month old neice and family; immediately accommodating, highchair automatically offered and toys for the little one. Great food with warm and friendly service.
