Been going to this chippy for years love the food

Omg amazing, the taste is unreal of fish, chips and mushy peas, proper traditional fish n chips, it 10 out of 10

Staying only a few doors away, weather throwing it down, so decided on Chippy Wood, wow amazing fish, chips and mushy peas. The taste was fantastic, quality fish, definitely will go again ans recommend to try, top guy too

We decided to give this chippy a try as we had read great reviews. I really wish we hadn't bothered . The chips were decent, but a small portion compared with others we have had locally and for the price. The fish was ok but the curry sauce was ridiculously watered down and pretty tasteless. I was served by the younger of the two men who was rude, argumentative and disgustingly sexist. He was arguing with me when I pointed out I ordered curry and he had given me gravy. He kept insisting I was wrong, certainly not a believer in the old 'the customer is always right' which I was, not that it matters, anyone else would have just said "no problem, I will change that for you" we are just talking about gravy and curry; not the crown jewels. He went on to insult me and make a sexist comment, which when I pointed out he was being sexist, he argued with that too. Not the kind of experience you expect at the end of a difficult work week, nor one we will repeat. I was hoping the food would be rubbish so we wouldn't lament the fact we wouldn't be returning. This was the only thing that didn't disappoint. I cannot think of a time I received worse service than this. I honestly can't see why they are rated so highly on any point. I'm sorry I wasted a trip to get cash on the experience. We won't be going back.

Not sure if I got it on a bad night Fish chips curry sauce just shy of £8... Scrappy chios, fish ok sauce ok but surprisingly all lukewarm and I only live 2 mins away .. Will try again .. hopefully I get them on a good night !

Old style fish and chip shop. Just right. Friendly staff. Good banter with the locals.

Best fish and chips we have had in a long time, no grease at all. This is where we will be getting our chippy tea from in future. Highly recommend you give it a try.

A great asset to the local community. A fabulous traditional chippy ran by father and son. Really really great prices and portion sizes that will fill you up but with very little waste. The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff are always great with kids and adults alike in the shop. Make sure you bring cash though as they don't accept card.

Decent fish and chips at reasonable prices. Fishcakes are his speciality. 😋

Hands down the top chippy in Wakey and one of the best in the country. Crisp batter fried in beef dripping, the real deal. Try the fishcakes!

This is the best little chippy I have been in, forget your H.RAMSED, I don't know anyone who has ever complained about any of the food. First rate, well run family chippy 👍😀

Outstanding fish and chips. My husband always goes here for his and his mum and dads tea on a Thursday and says there is no no greasy residue or aftertaste. The specials are cooked to order and are HUGE! The place is exceptionally clean and the owners are very friendly and helpful. There is usually a queue but well worth the wait and in my opinion a good sign ! Highly recommended by my husband and his mum and dad

Theee are great fresh fish and chips, this place been here for years and still going so what does that say to you. Try them you'll love them.

Food ok,but have had better from here in the past,staff ok,do not accept debit cards which is really inconvenient.I don't know which medium they use to cook but had terrible indigestion afterwards,that said shop was very clean and service was fast and efficient

Don't be fooled by the simple surroundings. Great things come in small packages. With a wonderful warm Yorkshire welcome you cannot fault Chippy woods. The food is consistently good and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Friendly staff and the fish and chips are always decent.Opening times are quite good aswell, open most days for lunch and tea.

Primero de todo STUART S SU NECIO!!!! Nunca he tenido una experiencia tan familiar cuando llegó a calentar este "fish and chips"!!! Las patatas fritas doradas donde marrón pálido no!!! El pescado estaba húmeda, y sin embargo la masa era tan crujientes!! Incluso fuimos a preguntar cómo que preparaban y su gotear aceite no!!!! Por eso saben tan bien!!! Agradable ver gente rápida para juzgar cuando saben nada de hecho!!! Sin duda recomiendo y volveré la próxima semana

Choppy Woods has been a family favourite for years - good fish and chips and really generous portions as well as very friendly chatty staff.

This fish shop is superb. When we are in the area, we always call for fis & chips which are second to none. The fish is always white & tastes fresh. My husband always has a chat with the very friendly staff about rugby & is reluctant to leave the shop as it is his favorite subject. Would highly recommend this establishment.
