I have heard a lot about Corarima and thought it was about time to try it for myself. Warm welcome from the owners and made to feel very comfortable from the start. The restaurant is cosy and spotlessly clean with a minimal feel despite plenty of traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean decorations around the room. It really is very nice.
Having never tried food from this part of the world, we decided to put our trust in the chef and ordered a sharing dish for three with a starter of hummus (made in house), flatbread made from chickpea flour and potato wedges spiced with berbere. All incredibly delicious and the softness of the flatbread was a welcome change from pitta.
The main arrived with some theatre, presented on a slate with a selection of main dishes spooned on top of a large piece of injera, a flatbread made from teff flour - a grain native to Ethiopia and Eritrea. Encouraged to eat using the injera to scoop up the vegetable based dishes in front of us. Everything was beautifully flavoured with numerous spices (in some dishes as many 18).
The meal was completed with a pot of coffee, poured for us from a beautiful jebena into tiny decorated cups. The flavour of the coffee was intense with the beans roasted and ground in house before being flavoured with ginger, cardamom, anise and presumably various other spices. The saltiness of the popcorn, traditionally served with coffee in Ethiopia, really added something to the coffee.
Wonderful restaurant, lovely warm and hospitable hosts and exceptionally flavoursome food. It was a pleasure to be served a meal which came with a little insight into the traditions and culture of what I am sure is a fascinating country.
Looking forward to returning to try more dishes.
OMG! Such delicious food! Lovingly made, great atmosphere, very short wait for the food! A must eatery to visit as and when in Wakefield. Very reasonably priced also!
Just noticed this place after being dropped off at the station, and as soon as I’d had my first sip, I concluded what’s in the title!! Pastries are top quality too!! Nicely done, and thanks for the great start this morning!!!
Excellent coffee shop. We enjoyed bacon sandwich & chocolate brownie between us. My 3 year old Granddaughter loves the Babycino in a sweet little cup and saucer with a little biscuit on the side and chocolate on top!
Had a lovely afternoon tea which was all freshly made. Great attention to detail, ensuring no allergies. Prompt service on arrival. The sandwiches were fresh and very tasty. Everything was spot on with special mention to the lemon drizzle cake and we also enjoyed the trifles and meringue. So much food we had to take some home to enjoy later.
Great cosy atmosphere and food was superb, never had cook waffles like it before. Service was swift and friendly and was nice to see the chef in and out of kitchen speaking to customers. 10/10
Went for a bottomless brunch at this cracking little spot. Amazing food, all made with super fresh ingredients. Some of the best pizza I've eaten in a long while. Gorgeous food & fantastic service. Great music as well! Definitely one of the best bottomless brunches I've experienced!
Called in this café again as we had been before, and i am pleased to say that both standards and service have not declined i had the big breakfast the wife had the meatball pasta and a sausage for the dog . Would highly recommend this café to anyone for both food and value

Called in for something to eat during an evening out. All I can say is wow!!! This place is subway on steroids....... Didn't really know what to have so asked for their most popular sandwich, got a choice of 3 and then could amend to remove what I didn't want. Service was excellent and food was cracking. Well recommended!!
Thankyou to the lovely ladies Jo and Linda always friendly nothing is too trouble
The pastries and pies are a treat thumbs up to the chicken and balti pies
We first attended this place in September for afternoon tea with our granddaughter and it was excellent. We always go for a festive afternoon tea and we were so impressed on our previous visit we decided to try here this year. We were not disappointed - it was fabulous.
The care and attention the owner puts into the food and presentation is second to none. Everything is freshly baked. It is not your standard fayre , there are many unusual but delicious Christmas themed treats. We can guarantee you won’t leave hungry and can take anything you can’t manage to eat away with you.
We will certainly be returning in the new year.
We visit this cafe every Thursday since our first visit many months ago. The coffee is second to none and it has remained at this standard every week. The baking is to die for , a scone is a must for the coffee. Every one very friendly and you are not over charged. I would recommend this to anyone.
