lovely fish and chips and battered sausage & homemade tartare sauce. only complaint & minor, chips were not very hot (fish & sausage were hot) & the tartare sauce had spilt in bag, if could have knocked just a half star I would

not good chips not cooked properly 2items missing from order peas and gravy ruined the meal will not be ordering again from you out of pocket and mediocre food

Fast and tasty, what else could you want. The potatoes were really a bit undercooked, but the chicken was delicious.

Amazing food. Best fish and chips I had in a long time. Thought the fish and chips come with peas but it didn't I rang and asked could I pay cash for peas on delivery, but they said not to worry and give me free 2 peas. Fresh hot and so nice

delivery time was supposed to be 5.45 but it kept changing. it took over 2 hours from making my order untill was delivered. The food was cold. waste of 32 quid

You pay for delivery yet the drive refuses to bring in to the address because he can’t park. Absolute rubbish just bone idle don’t send him again.

Sorry but got to say it was the worse fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fish so over cooked and like rubber and a lovely hair in the chips. Left most of it!!

Wasn’t very nice, chips was cold, fish was cold, gravy cold, very dry even the cod was dry which I was surprised by, most of it went in the bin

Came really late, then was freezing when it arrived!

The original delivery time seemed really long considering it was a small order and only five minutes away, but they moved the delivery time back 4 times!!!! When it arrived, my cod was dry and rubbery, with hardly any batter, the chips were under cooked, and the bread cake was stale. Considering just how expensive it was I would have expected much much better, and won’t be ordering from there again.

The best we've had in ages. The chips were so nice & fish was thick & flaky, the batter was still crispy despite the 2 miles+ to be delivered. Irish curry & mushy peas were spot on also. We asked for scraps & they obliged. The 2 jumbo sausages were for our dog & it she loved them. However, as part of our meal deal, we didn't get the bottle of coke, but that's fine. We will be reordering because The Cod Father, is the best!

Beautiful food, generous portions

Fantastic fish and chips from here last night. Glad to see the kebabs etc have gone and they now cook the traditional way in dripping. A quality chippy can survive on selling basics of a chippy. This place was packed and rightfully so. All the best to this business.

Called in when passing only had fish & chips and curry, I ended up putting it in the bin the chips was in the need of cooking looked almost raw. Granted could be time of year for potatos. The fish was watery and the batter was not to my preference. Granted not everyone likes the same type. I will notuse again. The other one just down the road was far nicer but a little more expensive but I'd take quality every time

3 fish bites and chips with curry sauce all for £5.50 what a bargin. Tasted fresh, the fish was lighty battered just how I like it. The staff were friendly which made the atmosphere welcoming. And the portion size was generous. Would recommend 👍

Staying in Wakefield for a couple of nights and has seen these guys on their TikTok page, was only a few mins drive so stopped by for dinner. Wow. Absolute bargain fish & chips for the amount you get. Super fresh, hot & tasty. All served quick.

I called in on Tuesday as I dropped a client in Wakefield from Norwich so thought I would try thier homemade fish cake.. It was delicious the crispy battery and the potatoe in it was divine the fish was so tasty ..the service was great the lady who served me was polite and very helpful... All in all a big 10 /10 Hopefully I get more jobs that way

Driver didn't come to door just waited in car outside, so I had to walk out to the car park to collect.

Customer service is non-existent … was asked if I would like salt and vinegar, to which I replied yes, she then didn’t put any on. I told her I said yes to her question, was met with a disgusted look, reluctantly opened the food back up and she then put far too much on which ruined my food. Not the 1st time I’ve had poor customer service here but like to give people the benefit of the doubt before giving negative reviews, felt I had to now.

Interesting conversation with the delivery driver who was just given a postcode no house number. Found him a few doors down k locking on the door. What was he supposed to do. k ock on every single door!!!
