Great Public Inn,great drinks,great prices & a friendly atmosphere,fantastic staff. Also very clean! - toilets are fab too.

Went into the pub and it was a disgrace serving people who can’t even walk straight alcohol there was poo on the toilet wall and asked the guy who owned it if he owned it knowing full well he did and he said no and walked off they don’t care about customers and to be honest the last guy that owned it before was more welcoming and actually cared

Ok pub . Strangely pumps ran dry and ran out of bottled and canned ales

Used to be great until new guys took over, no atmosphere and not welcoming at all, got verbally assaulted by a group of lads outside smoking something other than cigarettes. Constantly getting strange looks from the staff aswell.

Walked in to find it empty. Hippy looking guy said it was a students bar so turned us away.

Awesome little place, cheap drinks, nice space and they offer a small menu. They have a stage for music and live acts, jukebox, and booths for a little more privacy. Had a good time seeing Kinesis 4 and Zen Juddhism there!

Just walked in was asked if I’m a student said no, asked if I was a member said no. They didn’t offer me a way to sign up to be a member or explain anything to me, just told me to go basically lol. Looked online and supposedly you can be a member for free? Why don’t they explain this and how to do it instead of flat out refusing a customer (it was empty too so not like they were preoccupied)?

Lovely pub and has recently become our new local. Amazing staff/owners, wide variety of drinks and cheap house doubles! Also offers some food options and tonne of activities during the week!

Great pub, and also a brilliant place to socialise with other students. Decent prices, too - never have I gone and *not* ordered some nuggets and chips. Staff are also really friendly, always a good chat. Certainly more of a quirky vibe going on, with their 3D printing and occasional film, but that's the charm of this place!

Was a good place to drink/eat also they have amazing staff. But weirdly it is always a ghost town of a pub. Now they have gone members and students only "to keep their customers safe" but on the Saturday when I walked in it was quiet once again. If your able to get in you will be treated well as you will be their only customers.

Has gone membership only and is a very basic pub.... Nice reply.... You will just need to learn the difference between being refused membership and refusing membership...

The staff are friendly and helpful the food is always great I like the layout and the 3D models that is around the pub I say it is autism friendly because it never to loud. It is always funny when the the toy gun is out and shoot at me at my mate

We really enjoyed our afternoon. Staff was really friendly and their food was tasty. This is a great place if you want to relax with good drinks and in the evening even with live music. Highly recommended!

To expand on my experience, the staff were very conscious of our health and safety. They were also friendly and were able to provide an alternative dish when the food I ordered was out of stock for no extra charge. I like the atmosphere and am excited to visit again :D

Being honest they were advertising a job on fb & my daughter was interested so we went there to see what is was like and to get a feel of the place. as soon as we walked in we were greeted and made to feel welcome, we had a drink and their famous Nuggies & chips and wow they were sooo nice, felt totally stuffed after. Good music not to loud and stuff were helpful and very pleasant. Definitely worth a vist!

We tried to get a drink at The Angel on Palmerston Road on 15/5/21. The staff member noted that we were mask exempt as I showed him my hidden disabilities lanyard and then said we would have to sit outside in the rain. I pointed out that there was an outside table under cover free but he claimed it was reserved. I challenged him to tell me the name of the person who had reserved it as I felt he was discriminating against us due to our mask exemption. He asked if I would like him to obtain that information and I said that I would. He came back without the information and rudely said something about having to sit outside at wet tables and benches. I asked for the name of the person who had allegedly booked the under cover table that he had gone to get but he was becoming increasingly rude to us now so we left. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. The people who were seated under cover next to the table we wanted were not masked and one was even standing up.......................................... The Angel have since replied to my review so I will update. They claimed that they refused to serve us. Not true! They tried to make us sit outside in the rain rather than at a table and bench seats next to a group under cover ALL of whom were unmasked. What The Angel actually did was tried to segregate us under some sort of apartheid system they were running. This was discrimination and could actually see them fined up to £9,000 for breaching the Equality Act 2010. Their reply insinuates we were Anti Maskers. We all carried hidden disability sunflower lanyards which I showed to the staff member. My wife carries a letter from her GP stating TWO reasons why she is exempt from face coverings. I also have TWO medical conditions that exempt me from wearing a mask. I have great respect for people's health which is why I would discourage anyone under the age of 75 from taking a jab that is NOT a vaccine. It is a genetic experimental treatment program that is running under emergency covid laws until 2023. It is part of the great reset and is designed to depopulate as you will find out in due course. These 'Terrible people' who numbered over 200 marched around Southampton in the pouring rain today in an effort to stop the dystopian society which is planned for you. They marched in an attempt to save you, your children and your grandchildren from the 'New Normal' where you will 'own nothing and you will be happy'. We marched against the people who have forced you to close your establishment for much of the last year. But hey, they have been paying you the equivalent of 30 pieces of silver each under their furlough scheme whilst they forced your staff not to work. They will stop the furlough scheme when it suits them and your business will be gone. You will realise eventually that these marchers were right all along but it will be too late. We were mask exempt before we started marching to wake up the people that have been conditioned by the brainwashing by the media which is owned by Gates and Soros. The BBC are owned by these people and your government is also controlled by them. Have you noticed that governments around the world have ALL instigated masks, lockdowns, social distancing and so called vaccination programs. There is already a one world government and your leader has sold out to them. People on the streets of Indonesia have been shot in the head for not wearing a mask or wearing it incorrectly. Clergymen in Canada have been sectioned and had their children removed by police acting like the equivalent of the 1930's sturmabteilung for daring to hold a religious church service. You will come to realise that you needed customers such as us 'terrible people'. Watch for the changes to history, the banning of books, the forced closure of businesses such as yours. There is plenty more I could tell you but the character limit is being exceeded. Good luck for the future and please do some research on maybe Duck Duck Go instead of Google.

Kicked us out for singing without a warning, the table beside us was warned for signing but we wearnt, but kicked out anyway Stunning food and drink, but it's a piss take. Go to any other pub, you won't be told off for standing up. Yeha they're worried about being fined, but no other pub in Southampton is being as ridiculous as the Angel In response to what the pub said... We were never Warned, a nearby table.was warned, but we were never given a direct warning, and we were kicked out whilst the owner said " we warned you several times" I feel like the pub should make an effort to know who have and haven't been warned. As we were never warned as we were not the offending table. It is harsh that we were not singing previously and were told to leave. Simply the inability for a pub to know on who is causing the disturbance is an issue. I do not feel that we should have been kicked out for no valid reason. A warning on something that is done that we were not aware of is valid however being kicked out for something that is not a known rule by the customers of a pub is an atrocity. Either state from the beginning that people are not allowed to sing or make aware with a warning (not instantly kicking out) that you should refrain from singing. Especially when it is well known that after people have been drinking they will more than likely sing to a song they know.

Food and drink was great Service was awful Took ages for anything to arrive, we got kicked out for singing and standing up at our own table. The singing was quieter than the music playing

Came in for a pint to see the pub after it's revamp, the gentleman behind the bar was brilliant, sat and spoke to me about #cancelthecerfew This pub used to be rough and nasty, it is now amazingly nice.

Honestly the best pub I have ever been too! Not only is there cheap drinks and amazing food but the staff are so nice and lovely. Each time I go in there I feel so welcomed and you can tell the owners really care about this pub and want to make it fun. I recommend this pub to anyone whos in Southampton!

Este fue un verdadero hallazgo. Comer en el Premier Inn cercano fue (y siempre es) una pesadilla, pero el Angel fue un gran hallazgo. Muy buena cerveza bien cuidada, comida básica pero muy sabrosa y anfitriones increíbles. Realmente amable y complaciente. Brillante. Hizo nuestro fin de semana.

Was supposed to be q 5 but my finger missed 😅😅

One of the only places I could find that was showing the boxing on Saturday - Free pint and some good seats. Winner.

Cold but entertaining. Great customer service and the best burger and chips I have had in a long time. Games and pool available as well as a ps4 to play and music box. Will be going back.. oh parking is a nightmare to but I don't drive so I'm happy lol

It was the BEST Burger ever i’ve had! I didn’t know there was so beautiful and huge pub in Southampton, it was quite big and so comfortable atmosphere. If you want to feel any company then you should go there. Also i really surprised one more time with the burger indeed.. I haven’t had imagine i can eat like this Amazing Burger in a pub, but i heard the host invented this sauce by themselves, and it is Totally Fantastic!! Definitely i do highly recommend you to visit and try the burger here, also the host was amazingly kind!! And the interior was also very unique, i enjoyed everything includes the game machine, i had so much great time with my friends. :) Hopefully everyone does enjoy here and I will definitely visit here again soon & much appreciated to the hosts for the warm serving for me!!

Great burgers and good selection of beers on tap. Only downside is they don't play sport, but there is free pool so swings and roundabouts.
