Lovely place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere, staff are friendly and helpful, they seem to know all their customers and treat them as friends. There is a good choice of menu and is delivered with a smile.

Have picked up a cheeky cheese n tomato toastie for lunch on a couple of occasions. Nice food, lovely staff ☺️

Discovered this charming restaurant while on a day trip in Dover. I found the atmosphere of another era, simple, authentic and friendly. After a quick browsing at the menu I went on a quest for an ATM as cards aren’t accepted. We had the breakfast 1 and 4, which are generous and tasty. But for me the surprise was the latte which was outstanding, of much better quality than many coffee shops. So if you visit Dover, don’t hesitate to stop by.

This cafe is awesome. We were waiting for the bus to London.It was late. We went for a coffee at this cafe and it was amazing. They let us bring our luggage in and put it in the back while we waited .We ate lunch there as well. Delicious! Great food, great service . The BEST !

Ive just recently started to go back into this cafe after so many years the owner with her daughter are so friendly and obliging and the coffee is great that i now go in a regular basis very good for the elderly its like a hub for them to have a good chat with friends thanks billy

this café is one of the better cafes in Dover. the meals are of exellent uality, the staff are kind, there is enough chairs and tables to go around and room for all.

We usually pop in for coffee when waiting for a bus. Welcoming owner & friendly customers. Good service & clean toilets.

Went in and there was one person being served, so I thought "sweet, this won't take long!". I was there for 5 minutes while the server tried to remember the man's order: A strawberry milkshake and a can of Dr. Pepper. That was it. Three times she had to ask the man "what flavor milkshake again?" and it was when she took an extra 2 minutes trying to figure out the change of 3.20 from a fiver, I simply had to walk out. If I ordered eggs on toast, I'd have ended up with chocolate cheesecake and get short-changed on it.... NO BLOODY THANKS! Will never step foot in here again.

Only came here for a cuppa with my fella and family, the cafe itself is in desperate need of a facelift. The lady serving was polite and friendly, the tea apparently was lovley :-) didnt try the food as of yet tho.

Caffe Macaris is only around the corner from my work so we pop in on occasion for lunch. The first thing that struck me was the standard of service, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food itself was enjoyable and the cafe well kept and clean. And by the way if you get the chance try the whippy ice cream... it is fantastic!

Popped in here for the first time today with my good lady for a coffee and breakfast (hangover cure for me).... Nice little cafe and one we'll be coming to again. Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the breakfasts were very good and all well priced. Will be coming back here more often that's for sure...... may even try the MEGA breakfast one day!!

We had the mega breakfast, which was absolutely huge, cooked to perfection and served quickly and with a smile. The lady was more than happy to help, swapped black pudding out for another hash brown and gave us a tea and a coffee instead of a pint of tea. I would highly recommend

We love the coffee and adore the Icecream! Standard cafe grub with attached fish and chips, medium in price.You can take dogs in (if they behave!),and the staff are friendly and helpful.( Toilets up stairs however. )Apart from that, staff will help anyone with mobility issues where possible. N:B:-Have family come from Brighton for the Icecream! !

We went to this restaurant as it was recommended to us by friends. The fish and chips were outstanding. My daughter had the curry rice and chip (it could have fed a family of four) it was huge and tasted just like Chinese chip shop. Both children had the Ferraro Roche milkshake it was pure heaven.

We gaan regelmatig naar Engeland en sinds 3 jaar is het eerste wat we doen als we van de boot kunnen rijden: naar Caffe Macaris om eerst stevig te ontbijten. En niet alleen stevig, ook nog heerlijk. Met een keuze uit meer dan 10 ontbijtsoorten kunnen we wel even vooruit. Voor iedere Engelandvaarder een aanrader.

I have often noticed this café as I stand opposite awaiting a Stagecoach service. My bias is towards roasts and cottage pie, but anyone wanting all day breakfasts should get a range of sizes and components, mine in photo being average. The staff are Italian, so pasta is included, plus soups and sandwiches. The interior is clean with quality tables, and they seem to know who wants what. A few sit outside -the café faces the park but also the buses. They have their regulars whom the staff know but how much the bus drivers come in is not clear. I missed a sweet but ice cream is definitely on offer. No printed menu so you choose from the board above the counter. Read the Sun or Dover paper while you wait.

Visited with work colleagues on a Monday in June at about 08:30. Praise for the interior decor, which is clean and welcoming. Friendly staff behind counter. But both hugely let down by the fumes drawn in from those sitting outside at the smokers tables. Why on earth cafés provide such smokers tables is beyond me. My throat is still feeling the effects 7 hours later. Anyway onto the food, ordered one of the set breakfasts. Prices comparable to many of the other cafés in Dover, although very surprised to see that tea/coffee was not included in the price as is the norm. When the food arrived I was disappointed in the portion size, tiny amount of scrambled egg, single sausage, single rasher of bacon, hash brown and 3 small tinned tomatoes plus one slice of toast. Much bigger portions elsewhere in Dover for the same price. Scrambled egg was very dry, bacon appeared to be smoked, although that was not mentioned anywhere, and I dislike smoked bacon - again still have the taste in my mouth now. Wouldn't chose to return

Very impressed with the food and service. The only slight dampner for me is it lacks a little atmosphere. However the breakfast was very nice except for the sausage which was a little meatless. Big plus is the amazing coffee machine which served up a fab double espresso although no pouring cream. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this was and it scores high in value.

Macaris is always clean, welcoming and good value. Once again the staff and customers have made a great contribution to the KYGN charity with our collection tin. It contained a fantastic £156 when I opened it today, after having one of their delicious hot chocolates of course. A huge THANKYOU to all concerned.

We started popping in a year or so ago after mainly using the cafe at Kearsney Abbey, St Margaret's Pine Gardens. What kept us coming back more and more was the friendly service. This is now our after work local for a nice cuppa and to relax. For us its mainly the atmosphere, as well as the good coffee of course!

The staff and customers of Macari's have once again raised a fantastic £126.12 in the collection tin for Kilimanjaro Young Girls in Need . They do this on a regular basis, and we can enjoy a cup of their delicious hot chocolate when we collect. We see the same faces among the customers over and over again, so they're providing a valuable, safe meeting place for their clientele as well as good food and drink. A great big THANKYOU .

Enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate on a miserable morning. The staff and customers contribute to a collection tin on the counter for the Kilimanjaro Young Girls in Need. They have excelled themselves this time, it contained £145.00 !! An amazing amount. A huge thank you to these generous people.

Good coffee and friendly but that's it. The bacon roll I had was oh so average that I could have been in any other cafe in Dover. I was expecting something superior.

I take my grandchildren into this cafe and there is always a good choice of meals for them (and they are quite picky sometimes!) Very good prices, quick service and tasty food. It is used frequently by locals so that should be a good indication of the quality of food for anyone visiting Dover.

This great coffe shop and restaurant does a great job of serving the local community and supporting the KYGN charity in Tanzania. Another great amount in the collection tin today, £88.40!!!!. A huge thankyou to all the customers and staff .

Great value food and drink in clean, friendly environment. Staff work very hard to deliver a good service. Staff and customers also do a great job of keeping a school in Tanzania running with their regular contributions in our collecting tins. The KYGN ( Kilimanjaro Young Girls in Need) depend on the generosity of people like them. Around 200 children are given the chance of a future thanks to them. Very friendly, clean cafe. I go in there every day sometimes twice a day. The milky coffee is amazing. The owners are a lovely couple and always having laughs with the regulars and with visitors. I definitely recommend visiting this cafe when visiting dover.

First touch down in the UK and stumbled upon this little treasure, with a little help from trip advisor. We enjoyed some fish and chips with tartar sauce - lovely. Veggie burger - fine. And a nice esperesso to top it off. Feels like a place which is frequented by locals.
