A very nice family business. Fish and chips were very tasty and OK for the price. Here you can only pay in cash! There is no ATM in town!

Very disappointing, chips were only just warm and needed a few more minutes of cooking, thought they were being cooked freshly but they must have been left standing in a underneath cabinet. As we had to wait for fish to be cooked can't understand why they didn't recook them. The fish was very small. Won't be bothering again worst one we have had.

On holiday in Colyton this week and we had fish and chips + mushy peas on two occasions. Both times were excellent, so thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic takeaway. The fish and chips were the best, by far, we've had on our holiday. Service was great, very friendly and chatted while waiting for our order to be freshly cooked. Note that they don't take card payments but not an issue as a quick run over there road to the post office to get some cash. Can't recommend this highly enough.

We placed a order for a family get together and meal. The guys in the shop are lovely and the food was top notch! We have recommended to other family in town and all have had the same experience we will go again😀👍

For a Saturday treat we decided to try the Colyton chip shop. We had the cod, it was cooked to order. The fish was lovely with just a light coating of batter and the chips were so moorish. Thinking of going again before the end of our trip, haven’t had fish and chips so good forever.

Absolutely outstanding, food was good, guys behind the counters were brilliant, fantastic last meal prior to going home. Proper little fish and chip shop!

Friendly service. Fish cooked to order while you wait. Went there twice during our holiday in nearby Northleigh. Felt this was a more authentic chip shop than some of the takeaways on the coast.

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time.

What a joke arrived at 6-45pm Friday evening to by fish and chips. Told that he had run out of oil so didn’t have any for sale!! Yet another one that doesn’t want to work for a living if he can’t supply what he is supposed to maybe he should get out of the trade. Not amused

Two cod and chips, ready when I got there and stayed hot till I got back to the caravan. Perfect fish in crispy batter, proper cooked chips without to much fat. Recommended 👌

Chips ok, fish a bit soggy and not huge portions. Real shame as they were so friendly. From other reviews, we were just unlucky

We had cod, plaice, sausage and chips between 3 people there was more than enough. Everything was very tasty and food was cooked to order. We all agreed that we would return again in future if in the area.

Three years in a row been down for a holiday with family every time getting chips from here and it never disappoints great quality & friendly staff!! (the joke that changes every time I come down In The window is also a hilarious thing!)

Great take away fish 'n' chips with friendly and professional staff. As a Northerner I thought such places stopped at Cheshire - clearly I was wrong. Fantastic takeaway. Would I eat here again? You bet I would.

Looks a decent fish and chips, but they do not accept walk ins, make sure you phone order in. Sadly did not get to sample them.

Really friendly staff, huge portions of chips, we asked for small, hate to think how large the large portions are, the seagull,s had plenty of leftovers, the fish was lovely

Amazing Batter! Just had a real treat - fish and chip lunch. The batter was some of the best I have ever had - really crispy and light. Delicious!!

Great F&Cs, mushy peas and curry sauce. Really busy so called to order and collected later. Great bloke and lads in the shop. Miles better than both the chippys in Seaton.

Poor chip quality and portion size

Good old fashioned fish and chips. Why can’t all chippies be like this. Crispy seasoned not greasy batter and good quality chips. Really good portions sizes too. Good find this place.

Real welcoming, good quality homemade fish and chips. A dying breed. Staff friendly ( treat you like family- friendly) only a relatively small chippy, and if there is a rush on there is a small wait (as expected) well worth it though. I'm very picky and when we have at least 4 chippies within a 10 minute drive, this is my safe haven. Visit them, say hi, run by an accommodating and welcoming Northern family! I'm gutted when they go on holiday!

Fried in beef dripping, so extra tasty. Batter crisp & cod succulent. Chips firm & soft on inside. These are excellent quality at a very reasonable price & worth going out of your way for.
