This is a lovely little place, decorated so nicely in a cute little courtyard. Really romantic. The salads we had were absolutely delicious. In terms of service, there is one young man who seems to be doing everything. He's so attentive and polite - exceptional. Not sure what his colleagues are doing as they seem to be running around like headless chickens not understanding the basic principles of service. If it had been just for this young man, it would have been 10 stars.

My husband and I went to this cafe because of the reviews. Lovely courtyard in quiet setting. Unfortunately the lady we spoke to and served us was abrupt, unhelpful and unwelcoming; she could do with some customer service training. Service was very slow with many customers frustrated. The food was ok and the price reasonable. I would not recommend and would not return, the experience left a sour taste.

As we were back in Sidmouth for the morning, we decided to try Selly's again as our last visit was brilliant. Not disappointed as we called in for coffee but saw the Greek Salad being served and decided we needed some of that. Absolutely delicious and as much as we could eat. Well worth a visit. The staff are very welcoming and cannot do enough to make sure you have exactly what you want. We will be back next time we are in Sidmouth.

A very great little place for some fresh and tasty food and drinks away from the bustle of Sidmouth high street. I opted for the fresh crab sandwich and it was delicious. The cappuccino was also excellent. The small courtyard cafe has a few tables inside but the vibe is outside surrounded by pottery galleries and studios. Such a quiet place with no passing traffic and very few people looking at you. A large sun sail above the courtyard would allow outside eating/drinking in a light rain. They are licensed and sell various ciders. Came away feeling well fed and refreshed in mind and body.

My wife and myself are visiting Sidmouth again (staying at the outstanding Buckley’s Farmhouse) and - together with my Brother - we had lunch yesterday at Selley’s - one of our favourite local Cafes/Restaurants. It’s probably 2 years since our last visit to Selley’s but everything was as good as ever. I certainly much enjoyed the Soup of the Day and certainly have no problem at all recommending others to try out the Restaurant - assuming of course they can find it as Libro Court is tucked away in one of the side streets off the Town Centre.

Stumbled across this cafe by chance today after a walk around Sidmouth, and I love anything in a little courtyard, so had to go in. Everything was aesthetically so well thought out, and the owner running it was lovely.. we had a little chat about reading as I had come in to have lunch while reading my book. I had a coffee and cheese and parsley scone which he mentioned had been made fresh an hour or so before. Both were excellent and I found it really good value for money. The other little shops and gallery around the courtyard looked interesting too, I will go back to those next time (some weren't open). A little bit hidden away if you need a bit of calm following time by the sea, and a more authentic experience than the standard chains of course.

Selley's is a sweet little café located in Libra Court - an area just off the main streets of Sidmouth comprising 6 small businesses in a quaint and peaceful courtyard. I really loved its rustic charm. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and helpful. He was very happy to adapt the menu to suit my special dietary needs. It was easy for me to decide what I wanted. I had the crab salad. It didn't take long to arrive and when it did it really was a work of art! The most lovingly prepared and presented food I've ever had! The crab was fresh today and you could really tell! It was absolutely delicious and it came with a choice of 3 dressings that I could add myself - balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and olive oil. I was painting a piece over at Something Lovely Pottery across the courtyard and it was wonderful to just head across to get some lunch before going back to my painting. You can also order food at the café and they can deliver it to you at your table in the pottery studio. You can enjoy the lovely food sitting at tables outside in the courtyard too. It truly is a hidden gem in the heart of Sidmouth and I really wish I'd found it sooner. The perfect space to get away from it all in tranquil surroundings. One not to be missed!

Very upsetting & unpleasant experience today. The lady serving came to find me on the street after I left & was adamant I had left without paying. I told her I paid when I ordered & let her know how much I paid. She was still adamant I hadn't paid. We returned to the cafe where she looked through her records & she found my payment! Not only had she accused me of not paying but it transpired she'd over charged me! She didn't volunteer giving me the overcharge back. It was begrudgingly given. There was no incling of an apology from her despite it all being her error. I feel really upset about it. It all would have been OK if she'd been pleasant & apologised as mistakes happen. Such a shame. Richard the owner has always been lovely. My husband & I have been there 3 times over the past month, but it was a very unpleasant experience today.

Take your time, enjoy the music, people-watch, treat yourself to cake, breakfast or lunch with tea, coffee or wine and while away a couple of hours.
