Awful!!! Visited today. Served by children. No table clean.. not one, I had to ask the children to clear somewhere for me to sit. Asked them if there was anyone in charge they replied the adults are upstairs!!! Asked for a bacon roll with well done bacon, it came underdone. Half way through my roll I noticed the bread was moldy 🤢 told the children who said “sorry” that was that!! Will never visit again and based on my visit will recommend people steer clear unfortunately.

The portion sizes were questionable, 4 baby plum tomatoes on my plate but full portion on my boyfriends and a tablespoon of beans on his but full portion on mine. My Water glass was dirty, the bottle of coke was warm, the cappuccino wasn’t hot. It took over half a hour for our food to arrive and it wasn’t even that busy. The place was filthy. The kitchen was an absolute disaster. The seating areas were a mess. I pointed out a particular eye sore to the owner/manager when we walked in, he commented that it was his son but when we left 45 minutes later it was still there not cleaned up. The sofa in the corner upstairs looked absolutely disgusting. The seating was a mosh mash of all types and didn’t work well together at all. I used to come here years ago but it has since been taken over like other places in the area and unfortunately the current owners have not been able to keep up the same level of service and quality the original owners did. Won’t be visiting again.

I would like to update this review about this fantastic coffee shop. Ali and her staff always go above and beyond. I love to pop in for a coffee and a sandwich or whatever takes my eye. Their food is very good and yummy and lot of choice. Excellent value and cooked to perfection and well presented. Also I have bought a few cupcakes freshly made and which my friends children have devoured. I love to support local businesses Highly recommend this place

Went for lunch with a friend and we were quite underwhelmed and disappointed with the food. I’m a very keen supporter of independent businesses, but for £8.90 with a coffee, the ham sandwich and salad was very expensive considering the amount and quality of food. The ham sandwich was simply bread and ham, the crisps appeared to be a packet split between me and my friend, and overall the food wasn’t anything more than could be expected from a supermarket.

I had a lovely afternoon lockdown birthday tea delivered yesterday by Ali and it was very fresh and yummy. I had a choice of four fillings for sandwiches but there was plenty of choice on the menu I was sent via Facebook messenger. Choice of either plain fruit or cheese scones jam and cream butter and a huge slice of cake I chose Victoria sandwich but plenty of other choice. I also asked for a birthday cupcake. It was delivered to my house with social distancing and safely . We both wore masks . It was £10 per person plus £4 for the card . Lovely cafe I use with takeaway coffee and hot chocolate and cakes and sandwiches. Lovely warm friendly staff good atmosphere

My parents like to visit Lowry's and I knew they would miss it during lockdown. I contacted Alison to ask her if she could surprise them with a delivery of coffee and cake to their doorstep. I knew it was a bit of an ask, but she was absolutely lovely and went the extra mile for me. I don't know the Espresso Bar personally, but can't fault the kindness and generosity that I met, and that she showed to my parents. The prices are very reasonable too. Exactly the kind of local business that adds so much to the community and that we need to support during this time!

I first visited Lowry's in July 2019 and haven't looked back since! We were greeted by Ali who greeted us with a warm smile and let us know she had just taken over from the old owners, so was just getting her head around the new kitchen! ... Well you'd never know that she hadn't been in there for years- the service was fast, the food delicious and we were made to feel extremely welcome! Since July I've made frequent visits to Lowry's and it's one of my favourite little spots to take family and friends to when we want a quiet space to enjoy some food and quality time together. There is a range of seating from more practical tables for when we are having lunch together from the extensive menu of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and more to a comfy sofa for when we have nipped in for a very generous slice of Ali's homemade cakes. Being gluten free and a fussy eater I can find dining out a bit of a nightmare but there is a wide range of options for GF (including proper cake - not just brownie!) and nothing is too much hassle when I want to change the options slightly to cater for my fussiness! Ali and her staff always make the time to greet you- no matter how busy they are and the food and service they provide is outstanding - 5 stars 🌟 Highly recommended!

If I want a peaceful haven for an excellent coffee, some scrummy sweet / savoury delights and comfort, then this is where I go. I enjoy the fun and friendly banter with David and Catherine (the owners) whom I find welcoming and entertaining. I often visit with friends and family. All the food and "treats" are made by the owners (I can highly recommend the Rocky Road) and are delicious. Nothing is too much trouble and I always feel completely satisfied with both service and products. I love the mindfulness colouring books on each table and I find it to be a child friendly place too. There are lovely quotes on the wall which make me smile, comfy chairs and sofas but best of all a sample of handmade choccies with your drink....life doesn't get any better. I had chocolate cake which was beautiful, Vic chose truffles and was told it was 3...strange as it had said 6 in the advert on Groupon but the gentleman said as we had come so far he would give Vic 2 extra(still less than the 6) but hey ho. Sitting upstairs isn't as nice I don't think its a bit lacking in character as really they use this predominately for workshops- but as it was so busy really there was no other option.I think the Groupon price was good/fair.

Like most customers I look for that something special when I visit any establishment. The specials at Lowry's start with the owners Catherine and Dave who always give you a nice big smile every time you visit. That makes me feel warm, welcome and appreciated.Add to this the friendly chats and the excellent customer service and you begin to get an idea of why this is my favourite Coffee Shop in Bishop's Cleeve. Nothing is too much trouble for this couple.I tend to visit at least twice a week, however, my wife and daughter visit at least four times a week. So, what have we tried? The hot chocolate is to die for and definitely one of the best I have ever had. My regulars, depending on what time I visit, are the scrumdiddlyumptious bacon and mushroom bap or the scrummy Tuna Melt. If I'm feeling peckish I'll also enjoy one of Catherine's homemade cakes. Carrot cake is my favourite, however, my daughter loves the Rocky Road. The great thing about Lowry's is that it's in Tarlings Yard and when the weather's fine you can dine Alfresco as they have tables outside. Like the majority of the other views on here, it appears that dave the owner of this establishment is rude and arrogant and appears to have had my review deleted. This was probably due to the fact I highlighted that he likes to slag off potential customers to his other customers. Dave created a free coffee voucher when he opened the business with no expiration date on. An innocent local lady visited his cafe and tried to redeem the voucher as you would. He refused on the grounds of 'I created them vouchers ages ago so there not valid now' he recalled this story to another customer whilst I was in the queue. I was immediately taken aback by what I over heard. I thought his arrogant 2 faced attitude will ruin what he has created. Word of advice to him: the local people of bishops cleeve are your bread and butter, don't bite the hand that feeds you :)

Went for a truffle workshop, which didn't disappoint.A 90-100min experience where chocoholic Dave inspires and talks you through the ganache and tempering process' before you make yourself about 20 truffles. Only drawback is the room is very cramped and 12 people in a tiny space made it a little tight.Despite the space, Dave's passion overrides and you come away almost as passionate as him clutching a bag of treats. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone with an interest in chocolate.

The menu is tasty and well-presented by helpful staff; the location is in a quiet sun trap, away from any road noise. A true delight! Drop in and sample some of Dave's hand-made chocolates - guaranteed to bring you back for more.

We were very excited to go to this restaurant as part of out stay at Buckland Manor Hotel (separate review for that experience). The ambience is quintessential Cotswolds charm. One is presented with wine lists and menus to peruse and they then take your order in one of the delightful lounges before ushering you into the beautiful dining room. A carpeted, elegant room which allows for a delightfully quiet dining experience - rare these days in many places with hard furnishings, loud (awful) music and raucous clientele. What unfolded however did not meet expectations. The menu was limited, consisting of 4 options for each of the 3 courses on offer. There were 4 of us so we sampled everything on offer. It was all excellent in terms of taste, BUT the food was tepid at best and the portion sizes ludicrously small - especially for the price. I thought perhaps we had ordered from the children’s menu, but these portions would not have been enough food to satisfy even a child. The service was also rather limited. There were only three other tables of guests and the 3 waiters were nowhere to be seen much of the time. This left us to pour our own drinks and at one point having to wait for a waiter to appear so we could get the remaining white wine served - they had not left the bottle near our table for us to help ourselves. The cheese course was supposed to feature 6 cheeses but only 5 were presented as the 6th had run out and no substitute was offered - the price didn’t change despite the depletion. This restaurant and chef may well be dreaming of a Michelin star but they need to meet some standard of excellence in value for money ad well as taste of food. This might be the first time you need to bring a doggy bag of food with you into the restaurant as you will definitely not have food left on your plate to warrant leaving with one.

Great little cafe, with some gluten free cakes too (and not just the usual brownie). Plenty of dairy alternatives available. Portions are generous and the stuff was friendly and welcoming. I would come back again.

What lovely people! My dog and I were treated with such kindness. Lovely hot chocolate and crumble, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Thank you.
