Really friendly local pub that we picked for a family get together. Sunday roasts were abundant, good value, and tasty (with a lifetime supply of gravy). Incredible hospitable and friendly landlord who helped make it a really memorable time. We'll definitely consider it again if we're in the area. And a skittle alley!

Never before have I ever experienced such a poor show. I booked this pub for myself, my husband and 4 children. We had been driving for 5 hours and needed some food. We were abruptly shown to our table and then left. No one so much as cane over to show us a menu, take a drinks order, nothing! My children were starving and so were we. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we walked out. Absolutely diabolical customer service!

This well staffed pub does a decent Sunday lunch. Plenty of vegetables brought to our table but we found some a little undercooked for our liking especially the parsnips. The pub is on the chilly side so bring a sweater.

This looks nice from a distance but a closer look shows a lot of TLC is needed. The food was ok. Unfortunately something the staff can't really control but should was the very loud crude language from adjoining tables outside, this spoils the general atmosphere. Doubt a return visit.

Chose this pub for convenience and reviews off Tripadvisor Gave it an average for a couple of reasons food was good but not amazing really was lack of staff and billing issues which put a downer on our experience at pub We all chose our Sunday roast off a board which said large one price and small another no indication that lamb was more expensive (or I just didn’t see it ) also 2 dinners opted for all meats which was extra as expected but was charged for lamb dinners which was already £2 extra then another £3 for mix of meat so just be aware and maybe ask first where I didn’t I don’t mind paying but I don’t hidden surprises when I get the bill so maybe clearer menu or staff actually informing you as you order Staff were lovely but over stretched between waiting tables and serving at the bar . When we had eaten tables weren’t cleared and had to go to bar to ask to order dessert (at least 1 hr after) but as staff were busy at bar with long que was not easy as they were busy . Also check your receipt . This is where we found out lamb was more and a small mistake which was rectified by pub

We were looking to have lunch somewhere where we had not visited before, and came across The Village Inn in Twyning. Both my wife and I opted for the chicken ham and leek pie with chips and peas, we enjoyed it immensely, it was flavoursome and well seasoned. Good range of beers as well (Landlord, Butty Bach etc..). We will definitely return.

Nice friendly owners, and the pub was located in pretty location overlooking a green. However the roast dinner could have been better. We were booked in on Sunday but unfortunately I think we got the late offerings of roast potatoes. They were hard, difficult to cut and not easy to eat. The rest of the dinner however was lovely. Squeaky door noise was painful when sitting near to it. Wd40 will sort it in no time!

The VI - as it is known locally - is set on the Village Green in Twyning and perfectly positioned for sunset drinks! A warm welcome whatever the season or weather, the landlord and staff want to serve you well, with good real ales and increasingly good quality, interesting pub grub! The locals are chatty and welcoming, which leads to a great, friendly atmosphere, so gastropub it may not be but if you're after a friendly, proper village pub with good grub and decent beers (and wines) then do visit!

I came for a skittles match. 1) my husband paid £17 for 2 pints and a pint of Diet Coke. This is extortionately expensive. 2) the skittles alley was absolutely freezing cold - no one thought to turn the heating on despite knowing the match was happening. Luckily I found the thermostat and sorted it myself. 3) the skittles alley is poorly maintained, with a large and noticeable ‘bump’ about 2/3 of the way down. 4) there was limited seating available as all the chairs and tables had been stacked on top of each other - both unsightly and unsafe.

Was really looking forward to our Sunday lunch. I pre ordered a gluten free Sunday lunch for myself hoping it would be as I expected. But unfortunately my so called gluten free meal was a plate of all gluten produce. Needless to say it was all sent back, I would of thought because of the 5 day notice for a gluten free lunch would of been enough time to replace the Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and the cauliflower cheese for a gluten free lunch. I ended up with 2 pieces of lamb 6 dried out roasted potatoes, to make up for the lack of food on my plate a very small dish of leeks with peas to which was supposed to feed two people?….. On of which was a very hungry man…. I was still charged £14 for a third of the amount on my plate to a normal size Sunday lunch…… The whole experience was very upsetting, therefore needless to say I will not be booking a Sunday lunch at the Village inn again..

On street parking reasonably close by, very dogfriendly, with a great and varied menu which suited my vegetarian partner. We both had the all day breakfast, mine meaty and my partner’s veggie, which was not just fantastically cooked in the oven, but very reasonably priced with large portions…we were going to have one of the many lovely specials as a dessert but were simply too full. The decor and theme were interesting, the music was a reasonable volume and entirely to our liking (jazz), and the service was friendly and spot on. I cannot recommend this place too much. Our only disappointment was that we discovered it on the last day of our holiday, if we come back to Tewky, we will definitely return to this wonderful café.

I have had nothing but good dinning at the Manor and the atmosphere is a lot calmer being off the more trodden path. As the summer flowers finish at the end of summer the autumn show of fungi is just starting. And as the Cotswolds have some really old woodlands they also have a very varied display of fungi. This recent deluge of rain hails a good show. Don't leave it too long or the restaurateurs will have beaten you you it and there will be nothing to photograph. We called here for luncheon after a long morning. It was the 3rd day of sunshine in a row so we chose a table on the terrace without shade near enough to the wisteria to catch its scent on the breeze all afternoon. The food was impeccable and the staff were polite, friendly and engaging. We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms, but the manor house is a well kept example of the local architecture and the decor is well kept. The gardens look amazing especially with all the rain this spring, the gardeners have been very busy. The formal gardens lead upto a nice walk in a natural broadleaf woodland up the hill with some beautiful views of the surrounding area. I highly recommend you visit but book in advance as it is obviously very busy. A nice way to treat yourself
