We love this place, food is always delicious, we've tried the breakfast buffet, the carvery, the Christmas carvery and now this evening we've tried the curry buffet which was very tasty. Staff are lovely and friendly and the pub is wonderful. We had the Christmas carvery last year and our family have rebooked again for this year. Value for money is really good and the quality of the food is great. Highly recommended A**

I live very locally to this pub and my sister has been very positive about the Sunday carvery . We were a table of 6 and the carvery was really excellent . Large portions of meat , really good home made yorkshire pudding , stuffing and every other trimming you can imagine . I think there were 8 other vegetable sides . Lovely gravy too . Ignore every negative comment here and have the best Sunday roast arounf

Yesterday, I was taken for Sunday lunch at the Teddington Hands. The service was efficient and friendly. We both enjoyed carvery lunches. The beef was divine and the accompanying range of vegetable delicious! We’ll definitely be back!

From the outside The Teddington Hands looks poor with scaffolding and a generator not adding to the 1st impression. Inside however we found a clean and smart environment only matched by the staff and the quality and variety of food on offer. The mid-week carvery at £12.50 proved excellent value. Highly recommend. We travelled from Bristol and met friends from the Midlands. Definitely will visit again!

We visited Teddington Hands when it reopened, and had a superb carvery! Twice in fact, as we went again a few weeks later, as it really was that good. Last weekend, however, it was disappointing. We were shown to our table, ordered drinks and 2x carvery, then queued up. I was shocked how small the portions of meat were that the chef was serving up! Yes we opted for a standard plate as there was no way we’d pay an extra £4 each for a larger plate. (The waitress said it was £4 extra for a larger plate when ordering) I asked for my usual turkey and beef, the chef cut them as thin as he could and handed me the plate. The veg was very good just as before, but the pork crackling was rock hard and overcooked, not just mine, my wife’s too, we each left a couple of pieces on our plates. Not once were we asked if everything was ok with our meals which is usually common practice, and when the waitress came to clear our plates she just picked them up and walked off without saying a word. As my title suggests, this is how I feel Teddington Hands has become, Toby Carvery was once a very good place to eat and get a decent size meal, then they changed and cut the meat portions down without reducing the prices, it’s a shame this has now happened to Teddington Hands also.

Big friends reunion held here. Lovely old pub with easy access and nice interior. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Proper pub food served very hot and with large portions. Extra chips served up just in case we needed any. Chicken breast burger and chips was excellent at £16 and my biscoff cheesecake was lovely served with ice cream for £7. Pints for under £5. All 15 of us loved our evening and will definitely be back.

Had the Sunday carvery. Delicious food. My only problem is that the cauliflower cheese isn't cauliflower cheese but cauliflower in a white sauce with a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top. Good service. A little slow due to how busy it is but good. Would recommend. Book a table in advance though as it gets busy.

Perfect! We stopped here for an early Dinner whilst travelling South. Rang to book a table, polite and pleasant conversation. Request for a high chair was met happily. Great play area for our young children to burn off some energy before sitting down to eat. Kids menu great and even better that their meal was served to the table at a temperature which they could eat straight away. Simple but so many places fail to do this. Great burgers, friendly service, lovely place!

What a fantastic experience had here again by us both. We were looked after completely from start to finish. From the quirky little man ( giovani I think he was called ) who carved our meat beautifully to all the waitresses. Nothing was too much trouble The food was amazing and service impeccable. The host was extremely friendly, professional and efficient and the place was busy. I cannot believe the previous negative review as in our experience it couldn’t be further from the truth. It amazes me that someone who found it so dreadful the first time would ( supposedly) visit again and leave yet another poor review. Something fishy there in my opinion…. We will definitely be returning again Keep up the amazing work everyone

We've been going to teddington since last year for our carvery due to the fact they was always of good quality and decent meat portion sizes for the value of money ..went again last Sunday and to see they have put the prices up with quite a big jump which we can understand due to food inflation but what let the price hike down was how small the meat portions was first time of seeing the chef there who was serving and he gave us two very thin slices of one meat like it was coming out of his wages we even asked for the scraps as apparently they was going In the bin to give us a decent amount of meat for the price hike and that was like asking to get blood out of a stone had to be waited to be seated and then given a two person table for three people so had to ask for bigger table even tho we had booked..the food it's self was still of good quality hence 3 stars but if your going to justify £15.50 for a regular carvery plate at least give an adults size portion

Locals will tell you how many years back The Teddington Hands was the best pub for food for many miles around, then, when it’s long time owners retired it’s reputation sadly plummeted as it’s new management struggled to maintain its mighty standards. Now, since being taken over by the Quality Inns Group it’s back where it belongs, I took my wife for what was meant to be a light lunch, I ended up having a Carvery and she had a Chicken and Bacon Salad (with a side portion of chips) both were superb! As were the lovely staff on duty. Since our last disappointing visit a few years back it’s had a refit, and it looks more fresh and inviting than it has done for over 15 years, yes, it’s seriously been that long! Along with the excellent refit, they offer a great menu with a tempting specials board nearby, its original owners would be proud to see the fantastic Teddington Hands back where it belongs! We will be back soon for sure!

Oh dear!!! Been coming here since they reopened and thoroughly enjoy carvery and occasional main meal. But!!! Saturday night was a real let down. Special choice of two meals. One not available and the other one only one meal available. Main menu selections are limited unless you like burgers or are a veggie. We chose Hunters chicken with stilton sauce and 12 oz gammon. Hunters chicken arrived overcooked, dry and no sauce. It was so bad the waitress took it back. Gammon had been overcooked but although it was edible I had to wait until another Hunters chicken arrived so we could eat together. The chicken arrived cooked properly but the sauce can only be described as a jug of cream with perhaps a small amount of cheese. Definitely not Stilton. If we return will definitely stick to traditional carvery in future. So disappointing.

Excellent food. Ensure you book for Sunday Carvery. Ensure know only 1.5 hrs slot. Just need to sort out Logistics when busy of getting sittings out and sittings in. 1300 and 1330 very busy. People need to be informed not a lot of waiting room so only arrive for booked slot (we guilty too but with elderly person who could not stand well would have waited in car for appointed time). Also sitting on Table 5 was drafty at times mentioned. Needs a notice or marshalling on door. Minor tweaks but don't let this take away from Quality of the food and Portions.

We arrived at a nearby caravan campsite on the Sunday about 1.30 pm. and wanted a local carvery which the campsite wardens recommended the Teddington Hands Inn. The restaurant was packed but the waitress managed to find us a table for four of us (ourselves and two friends). The food was excellent but my wife was seriously choking on her meal so I rushed to the bar immediately and asked for a glass of water which my request was dealt with immediately by the bar staff. I spoke to the manageress Dione and asked if I owed anything for the glass or water. She said of course not but then immediately went to my wife to see if she was okay and asked if there was anything she needed at all. Because my wife's meal had gone cold (after the 3 of us had finished), Dione returned with a disposable silver dish which was presented with food from the carvery for her to take back to the caravan and warm up later. Dione was such an extremely caring person that my wife has asked me to thank her for her hospitality, consideration and respect that she had shown on that day. If we are in the area again we would be delighted to revisit for another meal and for their excellent customer service. When we returned home my wife immediately made a visit to the local GP who said that my wife had a lung flare up due to having COPD so the coughing was related to a serious health issue and not choking on the food. Finally, sincere thanks to Dione for her assistance and hope to visit Teddington hands Inn again sometime in 2024.

Loved the chips & other sides that came with it too. We finished off with Sticky Toffee Puddings, one with Ice cream & the other with custard, so light and delicious. To top it all you serve Stowford Press Cider on draught (my favourite cider) Amazing value, superb customer service from start to finish & a great venue. Living in Teddington village we were keen to see if the refurbished pub was any good. Sadly despite how nice the place looked we were very disappointed. There was only one very weak real ale for my husband so he drank wine. The teddyburger came without onion rings which would have been £2.00 a portion if ordered seperately so did not want to miss out. They arrived after a while and were worth the wait. I then found paper in my food and thought it was the greaseproof from between the burgers but it was all over the plate with all the food on top. The pulled pork and cheese burger topping was good but the burger itself was awful. The mayo on the coleslaw was like water. My husbands eggs were over cooked and almost burnt on the bottom. Our excellent server listen to my complaints and went to tell the chef, and here is my main gripe, it was obvious from the reply that the chef could not have cared less. She appear quite embarrassed. I appreciate that because they were no busy they didn't put a decent beer on, but with the attitude we received they never will be busy. We will certainly tell other locals not to bother so they are missing out on a good trade.

On street parking reasonably close by, very dogfriendly, with a great and varied menu which suited my vegetarian partner. We both had the all day breakfast, mine meaty and my partner’s veggie, which was not just fantastically cooked in the oven, but very reasonably priced with large portions…we were going to have one of the many lovely specials as a dessert but were simply too full. The decor and theme were interesting, the music was a reasonable volume and entirely to our liking (jazz), and the service was friendly and spot on. I cannot recommend this place too much. Our only disappointment was that we discovered it on the last day of our holiday, if we come back to Tewky, we will definitely return to this wonderful café.

Great food, great service, what more can I say. Well worth the drive from Cheltenham to eat at The Hobnails. See you again soon.

Really friendly local pub that we picked for a family get together. Sunday roasts were abundant, good value, and tasty (with a lifetime supply of gravy). Incredible hospitable and friendly landlord who helped make it a really memorable time. We'll definitely consider it again if we're in the area. And a skittle alley!
