The best restaurants serving British food in England

Chefs and teachers very rude to college students, they don't let us in when it's supposed to be open and tell us in a very unpleasant way, prices risen a lot, considering this is a cafe in a college where surprise surprise are college students that are often asked to leave when we do not purchase there overpriced food and drinks while studying, we are minors many without jobs they should be allowed to sit within the college premises between lessons without feeling turfed out, the students who work there are lovely polite and have lovely customer service but the adults not so much. On a few incidents now i have come across a very rude and arrogant chef who really needs to learn basic manners and politeness.

We’ve been a fair few times for Sunday lunch, which is always spot on. We choose here over other local pubs because I am vegetarian and they have a vegetarian Sunday lunch option, with veggie gravy, veggie Yorkshire pudding etc, so I don’t have to ask for something different and feel awkward. I often take my own gravy to places and ask for the Sunday lunch without meat, but no need here. Because it was warm we went for something different (again, great veggie choices) again, food, service and drinks were spot on. Amazing value for money too! Lovely people running the place, a must visit for those who enjoy good pub grub, good music and fabulous attentive service.

Went with my friend for coffee and cake. I had the raspberry bakewell tart was delightful. Took home coffee walnut cake for hubby and this was just as nice. Have been several times and always enjoyed lovely mocha coffee and a slice of something yummy from the freshly baked cakes. Would recommend.

Food was great and not a bad price but it did take a long time for food to arrive.

Relaxed atmosphere not too busy but not ghostly quiet. Roast beef was perfect and staff were friendly and helpfully enough without being annoying and in your face.

Called in without booking prior to a trip to the Kinema in the woods - very welcoming staff, lovely food and very reasonably priced. We will be back!

It's wonderfull place speacily from Turkey people. Also, if you interest traditional Turkish breakfast and food, you must be can visit this place. Everything is perfect. I love it.

We were warmly welcomed into the charmingly quirky retro cafe. The service was friendly and efficient, and the cappuccino and scone were absolutely delicious. Apologies for my companion's reluctance to tip - that was pretty embarrassing 😳

Came here 2 weeks ago and now I’m a regular coming twice a week! The new cafe area is warm, cosy and very child friendly, the owners couldn’t do enough to help us. We also do our weekly food shop here the veg is a complete different quality to that of the supermarkets tastes and last much longer. The meat is also very good quality which justifies the price, we purchase there bulk offers to make it more affordable for us to be able to sustain ourselves. I’d recommend a nosey and a breakfast here any day! Mitch ☺️

Saw the reviews on this fish and chip shop so thought I would try it based on the top reviews, the food was very disappointing the chips were soggy not even crispy and the fish was so oily and completely soggy also when should be nice golden crispy the only thing that was nice was the curry sauce. Won’t be trying this place again was terrible.

Rainy day, no menu visible from outside so we went in. Whilst the server was busy chatting we looked at the big board, but there were limited offerings for lunch so when she turned her attention to us, I asked if this was everything they offered (thinking there might be a written menu as well or something). She told me, fairly rudely, that that was everything they did and if we wanted something else we could go somewhere else, "not that I am trying to get rid of you.. ha ha", And so we did just that. Cant tell you what the food was like, but we did have a very nice lunch elsewhere!
