I've been going here for 20 years and although I don't live in the area, it is nice to return and enjoy the excellent food and service that I have always received here. Lovely owners and this place feels like ' home'. Prices are still good and the food is always well presented and perfect. Thank you

Nice little cafe really warm friendly welcome the waitress is lovely good varied menu all freshly cooked so bit of wait but Omelette literally stuffed with ham&mushrooms served with great homemade chips which you just don't get in most places and def worth the wait! Good cheese and bacon burger too! Worth a try if in southbourne recently been refurbished and new decor lovely!!

Went in, asked how long it would take as I’m in a rush. Said 10 minutes (it was 10 mins) the food was boiling hot in which I couldn’t eat and steam was literally hitting the ceiling (the sausages were actually sizzling) I said to the owner why is it so hot, I can’t eat it like that… he said you ordered a hot meal. I said you have had this in the microwave and forgot. I said can I have something else instead that I can eat now. He said no. I said how am I suppose to eat this, his response was “blow it” I asked for my money back, he said no and just smiled at me. If you like microwave food and rubbish service this is the place to go!

The best breakfast all freshly cooked. Also the Sunday dinners are great.

A great café, the food is consistently good and tastes home made, fantastic selection on offer too, all at reasonable prices. The service is always spot on, quick and very friendly. For my wife and I living in Southbourne, It is our local café so you do have many regular customers which enriches the ambience into a friendly place to be. Give it a try! You will not be disappointed.

Four of us each had a lovely breakfast this morning. Very good value. They were happy to swap items for other items, ie sausage for tomato. Great veggie option as well. Only criticism was the hot drinks went cold quickly in wide mugs. We will definitely return for another meal here.

Nice food lovely big chunks of mushroom and sourdough bread, really big fluffy chunks of scrambled egg and a decent pot of tea. Reasonably priced and lovely personal service. Clean and cozy will be returning.

Friendly, nice clean restaurant, nicely cooked and tasty breakfast. Pot of tea, and toast (one round burnt, scraped black burnt sides off, difficult as had margarine/butter spread on it, and I prefer dry toast, no spread) but overall very good and would eat there again. The Lunches looked appealing.

Always a pleasure to come here, either for breakfast or lunch. Excellent value food and drinks, friendly staff and a good ambience. I'd not been for 5 weeks due to the indifferent Summer weather, but hope to visit more often during Autumn/Winter.

We visited daily this week. Breakfast was beautiful, staff polite and friendly.

We walked the length of Southbourne high street and were attracted in due to the board outside advertising a very reasonably priced breakfast. Nice and clean with plenty of tables. Good for couples, singles and families. Of particular note is when I ordered my breakfast I asked for no egg or tomato, the lovely waitress came back and asked if I would like anything instead. This is really pleasing for a customer, in other larger places (for example The Boat House In Christchurch the menu advises you that you can’t request an exchange). Thank you Much appreciated. The breakfast is also super reasonably priced. We will visit again. Really pleased we came in. Maybe personalise the menus with the name of the restaurant? Good for advertising, as I couldn’t see the name mentioned anywhere inside. Not too sure on the tap message in the toilet, felt a little like being told off.

Yummy! Lovely staff, seems to have a lot of regulars! Always promising. We came a few years ago and decided to see if it was still open. It still is and it is still an amazing breakfast! Great portions at reasonable prices. Kids love the food here and say its the best restaurant they've eaten it. Haha. They do kids options, and burgers etc so not just a breakfast cafe.

Came across this lovely little cafe after a walk from Westbourne to Southbourne. We were looking for something to eat as I wanted a "all day breakfast" it didn't disappoint, amazing breakfast lovely latte and my wife had a beautiful jacket potato. It was so good we walked back the following week (a 10 mile round trip). The owner is very friendly and the cafe has a nice feel to it.

Lovely local cafe. We went here as a family of four. Friendly service, well set up for social distancing and all were happy with food choices. Would return.

We have visited several times and are always happy. The cafe is basic in decor but the service is very friendly and welcoming. The food is reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Not a massive selection, but the basics are served well.

An original English cafe, old fashioned service, great food, no frills. Have just visited with a group, Service was friendly and food home cooked. The portions were extremely generous, this is a gem. Two of our group had desserts and they looked amazing, only wish I had had room.! Thanks for an amazing lunch. We have travelled throughout England on our holiday and this is right up there with the Best. Thanks

Popped into Southbourne for the first time whilst Mrs B was at a day conference in Bournemouth. I was getting really FED UP with RIP-OFF PARKING charges in B'mth and Boscombe (£2+ hour) so took my custom elsewehere. Here in Southbourne Its FREE on the road with some nice independent shopsl Found this lovely traditional "Peppermill" cafe and had a generous full English breakfast for £5 served by a very friendly Glaswegian lady who allowed me to bring my dog in. Thank you. After a wander round the shops I drove half mile down Grand Ave to more FREE parking on the clifftop gardens (sandy beach acccessable to all via ramps or a pay-lift).

Great food and extremely well priced. I was out with a family member searching for somewhere to eat and looked at several cafes that served tiny breakfasts for ludicrous prices. Our breakfasts were perfectly cooked and in a timely manner, the staff were polite and attentive including the chef who even thanked us when we left. I will definitely be earing there again and would happily reccomend.

Nice friendly place with a good few regulars usually seating available...simple food nothing fancy but good value and i recommend the cooked breakfast!

Won’t be going back to this place. Food reasonable enough although nothing to write home about but customer service zero. Don’t go there if you want basic tap water with your meal- shocking! And as for the very rude waitress....nah, I’ll go elsewhere next time.

We love the peppermill, we are not adverse to today's foodie culture of changing good old traditional food but sometimes you just want good traditional food and nothing fancy with some sort of ingredient you've never heard of, The peppermill delivers just that, amazing traditional Sunday roasts, breakfasts, ploughman which you never seem to be able to get anywhere these days, the staff are great welcoming and friendly, it's just a proper old cafe feel, lovely

He usado este café muchas veces durante muchos años y además la comida era muy bien preparado el precio es muy razonable. Siempre una buena selección para comer el domingo y aunque no está autorizado se pueden tomar su propio vino y vasos. También tienen un buen desayuno.

Consistent and good value too. Hand cut chips are a nice touch. I've downgraded my review however, because they only take cash. Read in to that what you will. All I'll say is that elsewhere that I eat, I pay towards VAT on food, which the government then use accordingly towards looking after us all, including social care. Our taxes pay for police, health, fire services, roads and infrastructure. They also won't give you tap water. Even when it's for your child, which I think is quite mean spirited considering you can be spending a fair bit in here. Basically it's clearly ok for the owner to take 'cash only' for whatever reasons he has (nudge nudge), but for your young child he's taking issue with losing out on a one pound bottled water sale. Tight tight tight. And if you can give me one decent reason for not taking cards, when even my local independent supermarket can take cards for really small amounts then I'll be happy to discuss.

Después de haber caminado por ambos lados de la calle alta" decidimos apoyar el pequeño establecimiento independiente en el Costas, etc.Así que nos metimos en este encantador café. Expectativas de los pueblos debería ser cómo un café puede variar. Mi idea de un café es un menú sencillo, sin lujos en un lugar limpio, ordenado, privado de la publicidad moderna" al ser embestido por su garganta, tipo de lugar. Que afortunadamente encontramos en Peppermill Café.En primer lugar, el lugar era cálido y acogedor y ratones. Nos sentamos junto a la ventana y la señora escocesa nos reconoció de inmediato y dijo que será más pronto a tomar nuestras opciones de menú. Es que no hay nada peor que alguien que rondan mientras salida un nuevo menú!Después de haber decidido en 2 grandes desayunos ingleses ella tomó nuestra orden educadamente y desapareció para conseguir cosas de cocina.La comida llegó en buen tiempo con té y tostadas con mermelada. Té en el pot de éxito no marcar como la comida. 2 salchichas, 2 huevos, 1 bacon, 2 toms, plum judías (múltiples! ) y un hash brown estaban cocinadas en el clavo. Si no te gusta el aspecto frito o gusto, entonces éste no es para ti.Algunas personas vinieron mientras estábamos comiendo y sabía la señora escocesa y pedimos su habitación 'orden. Eso es siempre una buena señal diría.Era un costo muy satisfactoria 5 libras. 95 Cada ya que estábamos llenos y no quieren más.El café está abierto de 9 am a 3 pm todos los días y ofrecen un 1, 2 o 3 platos de comida que parecía opción principal muy buena relación calidad-precio. Como pagué en la caja me di cuenta de que una señora normal (que era realmente dulce) era meter al en un gran plato de buena comida (asado, creo que era) que me imagino era la media oferta. Las comidas de 3 platos se cocinan entre las 12 y las 2:00 pm.Así, que de nuevo? Si estoy en la zona de nuevo hambre y entonces, ¿por qué no vuelvo! Es un buen café del viejo. No es pretencioso, no es caro relación calidad-precio buena, limpia y reconfortante (si sabes a lo que me refiero), y dejar una propina y apoyo su negocio local, lo hice.

Estado aquí varias veces y puede responder tanto para la comida y la calidad del servicio como en el punto justo. Nunca tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo, y las porciones son generosas. Además, tienen la casa de estilo antiguo, que realmente hizo patatas fritas hacen la diferencia. Es detalles como que, la atención al detalle que presenta son molestado sobre lo que servir.
