I went for lunch with my friend and thought it was lovely. The oatcake with goats cheese and red onion marmalade was superb. We were able to sit outside in the sunshine which made the experience even more pleasant. I shall definitely return with my family. We have only recently moved to the area so I am delighted to have found The Old Barn.

Lovely cafe with the best food and sweetest staff, my favourite place to come with my kids on the wellingborough road. I have been here 4 times since moving to this part of northampton, each time with my young children and we were always well looked after.

I went today at 8/01/2024,I went as a friend had told me about how helpful the owners are with people who are struggling with the basics like food and it took a lot of courage to ask for help. However when I arrived and I arrived in the specified time I was not even able to explain why I was there when I was just told were closed and the person then completely ignored me,I know I'm not entitled to hand outs this is a service which they do not have to provide however because I came to use the service does not mean I am not entitled to be treated how they would like to be treated and from what my friend told me they were the most caring empathetic people who work there but this was not what I found I understand people can have a bad day but it made me feel embarrassed and ashamed that I had come.

Fabulous from start to finish. The young but very engaging and knowledgeable girls front of house and waitressing could not have been more attentive and helpful without ever being over bearing. The ambience from outside had the attraction of a fabulous Parisan side street draw and the decor and ambience inside doesn’t disappoint. A sharp eye for eclectic edge with a sumptuous undercurrent of elegant pub chic and warmth integrate sumptuously. Food was fantastic by special prawn ravioli being warm, sleek and unctuous. The pork shoulder main was generous, full of fallout and perfectly configured with the leeks and champ. The aroma from the masala sauce matched the taste. Lemon posset with a twist brought the experience to a triumphant close. A gem that holds its own and more with the higher profile Cricketers and Catch 22 , a find from a brief memorable encounter at the Saffron Walden Saturday morning market. Luck was on my side Lee D ……. Out

Emma and Nick are very welcoming and their food is amazing !!! I recently òcelebrated my Birthday with the Family at home with Emma's take away menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the shin beef in red wine, along with very delicous vegetables and very tasty chocolate marquis. Over many years we have ordered most of the menu and it's always beautifully prepared and very delicious!! Thank you so much for helping me out This is a 5 ***** review !!!!!!! Helen

A place to go for something different: local delicacies of pyclets and oatcakes served with flavoursome toppings. I had the "Canadian" (pyclets with bacon and maple syrup). The food is beautiful and the staff are welcoming. As of March 2024, it shares premises with "Derby Uncovered" which sells local food and non-food products, including pyclets to take away.

Pretty nice pub but extremely overpriced. Had a chalkboard on the wall with “pub bites” which were priced at £6.50 or 3 for £16.50. Me and my friend ordered latice fries, warm bread and olives and mango prawns. However we were disappointed when they brought out the food and it was a tiny bowl of store bought tasting olives, 3 tiny prawns, and a small bowl of normal chips. When we asked about the bread we were told by the waiter that it didn’t come with bread. So spent £25 on 2 drinks and 3 tiny bowls of supermarket frozen bites. So if you come here I would recommend to either just get a full lunch which may be worth your money, or to just get a drink.

A really good experience, not been here for a while but is as good as ever. Food was excellent, big portions, good value for money, really tasty. Good choice of drinks, with a good value bottle of Merlot for less than £20. Service very good throughout with a friendly welcome, nice ambience, old school but attractive.

Seven friends on holiday together went to The Rumburgh Buck for a last evening dinner having had drinks in the garden a few days earlier. This pub is wonderful - friendly and very welcoming. It is unspoilt how I imagine it has been for many years; flag stone floors, benches and the occasional slightly wobbly table. We preordered our meals for steak night, excellent value and absolutely delicious steak, mine was a perfect medium rare. Highly recommend a visit to this little gem in the Suffolk countryside

What a hidden gem! Scotia and Lisa are fabulous hosts. As a family in a campervan looking for a stop over on the east coast this ticked a lot of boxes. Free stopover in their carpark if you buys drinks at the pub. They have an honest shop with all the bits you may need, milk, chocolate etc a washing up sink and washing machine. The pub had a great atmosphere, darts boad, and kids were made to feel welcome. We stayed over for NYE and the pub put on a small free buffet and kareoke. We also walked to the village hall that charged adults £2 entry for a kids disco and cheap drinks. The following morning we were offered a full English and a cuppa for £7. There is also an electrical point in the honesty shop you can use overnight for a charge of £7. Not much in the area but great for bird watches on the marshes or a cheap and cheerful stop over.
