We came across this lovely pub on a day visit of the three castles. We were lucky enough in March to have some sunny weather so we sat outside in the beer garden overlooking the river which was wonderful, however inside the pub also looked very inviting. The owners were very welcoming and our group (2 adults, 2 young children and a dog) enjoyed some of the basket meals (the spicy chicken deserves an extra mention - it was amazing) and the quiche of the day, all very tasty. I would highly recommend this place, it was a great little find!

New landlord, new chef and food, and a great place! Highly recommended. Went there with a group of friends and had Pizza which was very good indeed.

Friday night visit for a large group of 10 people. It was pizza night and the food did not disappoint! Very friendly service indeed & lovely atmosphere. Wishing the new landlords every success in their business.

Service very poor, food expensive for what it was, took ages to get food. Local country pub trying to be more than it is. Serving overpriced standard meals at high end prices. Avoid.

I had a lovely fish and chips at the bridge and even though a limited menu they did amazing 🤩 it was such a enjoyable meal and was fast to come! It’s a shame will be closing soon and I couldn’t live closer to visit more! Decent prices and a lovely diner.

Book a table for Sunday lunch starters were of a Continental choice with no traditional English options. The veg and gravy came out first small amount of veg not enough to share gravy very running and watery . Had to wait another 10 minutes before the actual roast beef was brought to us. Would not recommend or return here

Very tasty food, the whole menu looked delicious. Also very good value wothh locally sourced ingredients. Good local drinks are also available.

Warm welcome, well-kept beers, excellent food in a stunning riverside location. Portions are generous; cooking is imaginative and delicious, and the views are lovely. This visit was a weeknight supper, but previously a Sunday roast and Saturday lunch have ticked all the same boxes.

Visited for evening meal. Menu was small but didnt have a problem finding something to eat. Food was amazing, really tasty. Staff are friendly and great beer served at the bar. Price wise not bad but not cheap either, when your one of the only pubs with decent food for a good few miles you can charge what you like. If I was in the area I would absolutely come again. I wish they had rooms so I could stay a night. The pub is beautiful and very tastfully decorated. Not a bad word to say.

This pub is everything you want to find in a pub. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Good selection of food. Good portions. A very good chef. Good staff, helpful and friendly. Friendly atmosphere, mixture of locals and visitors. Locals also very welcoming and happy to chat to you. With little in the way of good food and drink options in the area this is by way and a mile the best one in the area.

We stopped here in search of lunch on New Year's Eve and are so glad we did. I had the mushroom and parmesan fettuccine which was, without a doubt, the most flavoursome pasta dish I've had for a very long time. Packed full of mushrooms, with a delicious sauce and topped with generous parmesan it was scrummy. He had the burger, which was a thick, tasty patty, garnished with salad, accompanied with skin on chips and the plate was clean! Friendly welcoming staff too. Highly recommended! Thanks, team !

Came to this establishment with family for the second time, last summer we came and had no issues food and service absolutely amazing. This time we arrived and was met by a bar maid that clearly didn’t want to be there with the worst attitude. Cannot fault the food, it was absolutely amazing. After reading a previous review regarding the staff I feel as though owners need to re evaluate management of the bar. When paying the bill the bar was full of young men who the bar staff were much more interested in talking to and even touching, even though we had finished and just wanted to pay the bill with full plates in front of us (not even collected in) I will not return again if this is how it is going to be. Bridge Inn Kentchurch, please either re train your bar staff or get new bar management !!

The owners will know who I am without me broadcasting it as i have been a patron of the pub for the best part of 3 years and knew the previous owner well. it gives me no pleasure at all in writing this review but it is for the pub licensees benefit that they get feedback from someone who hasn 't just visited it for the first time. Unfortunately due to circumstances the pub has gone downhill rapidly since Kasia was forced to "retire", I realize the location of the place doesn't lend itself to a great choice of staff, but the last six months has seen a steady deterioration in the bar staff and therefore the standards of the establishment are not what they were. The menu needs refreshing,the prices reconsidered and new bar staff need to be recruited and sometime in the future a person who knows what they are doing needs to come back and run the pub, otherwise I fear for its future.

Came in for dinner and had a beautifully cooked steak dinner. The whole vibe of the place was lovely, so chilled but still nice. All of the staff were very lovely, super welcoming and helpful. Thank you for such a lovely time and dinner.

After 16 months or so due to COVID it was good to return to this great venue.I sat outside with friends, great steaks, good beer and attentive staff. Looking forward to 22nd May and live music.Jim, Finn and Paddy (my dogs love it too)

Interesting menu with both traditional pub food and some items with a Greek influence. We chose the Greek inspired dishes and were glad we did.

We had a fantastic takeaway treat full of great quality food, pudding which we weren't expecting and even a little flower. Such attention to detail! We both loved our meal of ribs and pork belly, the meat was such good quality and portions were generous with the addition of lots of tasty sides. A super meal, thank you!

Had lunch today here. Food was fantastic and service very good. Welcomed our dogs and brought them treats. Decor beautifully done and outside area really lovely. Bet it looks good with the lights on. We will return without a doubt!

Food was delicious, shame about the landlady, she had a real attitude problem, and blamed it on the fact she was tired, talking to locals I certainly didn't get a look at the extras that weren't on the menu, a real shame as the pub and its postion is stunning!!

Visited for a second time yesterday for an al fresco lunch. Service came with a smile and there was excellent food yet again. The chicken club was fabulous and my husband thought the burger was one of the best he had eaten - really moist and flavoursome! I gather that they do pizza evenings ( also take away) so we will definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

Had a meal here on Tuesday evening which ranks with the very best of pub meals I’ve ever had. In fact probably the best. The summer salad is superb, not just a salad but the best of taste and texture the pallet can cope with. I urge anybody to try this meal it’s wonderful. Well done the chef for this alchemy of summer in a bowl.

Visited today for an our first outside lunch since Lockdown. Everything well organised in accordance with the COVID regulations and there was plenty of room between the outdoor tables next to the river. A sensible limited menu was provided with both light and main dishes available. The food was first class. We had the sausage plate which my husband thoroughly enjoyed and two of us had the homemade burgers which were delicious. Service was spot on and very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Really lovely pub and restaurant. The chicken wings for starters were the best I have ever had! The steak was delicious my wife loved the vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It rained, the wind blew, but the Bridge at Kentchurch offered some rest bite to this awful weather. A warm welcome , great food, excellent service, but above all made to feel welcome. Is this my first visit, no. Will I visit again, oh yes!. Guys you've git it right, keep it up.

Met up with some friends for lunch here the other day. it was really nice! Burger was really good, and everyone else seemed happy with their food. Seemed a fairly standard menu choice for a pub, but it was done well. It was a bit warm inside the restaurant for me, though not unusual in winter when the heating gets cranked up.Lovely looking outside by the river for the warmer days.15 mins from where I live so would definitely come again

I have visited the Bridge Inn Kentchurch and each time it gets better. Just had Sunday lunch. Superb! Great service too. Good value for money.

We chose to come here because we thought the menu seemed reasonably priced for a midweek meal. We had a friendly welcome and the service was good. The food was good pub food. I would call in again if passing.

Loved this place prior to the huge refurb but hadn't had chance to try it since their reopening in February. Today after a long day hiking and with a wet dog in tow we got the opportunity to call in for a well earned tipple. I must say I was totally impressed. So much so we ended up staying to try the food as well. We had the 2 course Sunday roast and it was outstanding and very reasonably priced considering the top quality. The starter of pork knuckle, potato knarls with a poached egg and crispy bits of leek and a cider sauce was just divine. I literally wanted to lick my plate clean! The only down side was I then didn't have enough room to finish the delicious roast beef dinner they served up next or get anywhere near sampling anything on the dessert menu. It was lovely to meet the new (to me) owners William and Kasia and Paddy the delightful resident Sprocker. Elmo loved the doggy treats on the bar and was very happy with the doggy bag of leftovers that was bagged up for us to take away for him. Thank you Bridge Inn. I will definitley be making a visit again very soon.

The Bridge inn is a place I’ve always intended to visit & for no particular reason haven’t got there.But Thanks to a mention on Facebook it nudged me into booking.My daughter & I have just had one of the Nicest Sunday lunches we’ve had in a long time.The place, staff, views & food were Fabulous.Would Certainly recommend a visit ‼️

Visited as a group the day after our wedding - the owner was very flexible with our changing numbers. The food was excellent and the outdoor beer garden was the perfect setting. Staff were very kind and helpful. A really great pub!

Felt I just had to give a review even though this is my first. My wife & I visited for lunch today & throughly enjoyed our meals. Portion sizes were very good and owners and staff most welcoming. They only opened in February and if they keep providing the great food and service we received, then they deserve to be in business for many years to come.Keep up the good work!!Jonathan & Ellie

We visited the restaurant last night as a group of 10 and were all very impressed with our experience. Between us all we had a variety of the dishes and we thoroughly enjoyed them all. The food was piping hot with very generous portions. The fish and chips, burgers and sticky ribs were a favourite. The service both at the bar and in the restaurant was good with pleasant staff serving us. The restaurant was full but it was refreshing to see that the owners have resisted cramming too many tables in so you eat in a spacious environment where you can enjoy the company and conversation of your party without having to rub elbows with fellow customers or hear them come to that! Sadly we were too full to test the desserts but hopefully on our next visit we will rectify that! On leaving we booked to return for our family meal in December. I only have a little negative in that my husbands choice of lasagne would have been more enjoyable if it had been served with a small side salad.

We enjoyed a good pub meal here, although one of our party thought the salad had far too much dressing on it!

Amazing country pub. I live over an hour away and have been here several times in the last few weeks, as my fiends have recently moved to the village and it is such a nice place to go to.

We so enjoyed our lunch today - we both had the Herefordshire Beef which was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were varied and so delicious and cooked with a variety of herbs. We agreed that it was one of the best Sunday Lunches we had had out for ages. The staff are young and delightful and very welcoming. The owners have set high standards so that everything is clean, tidy and of good quality. Compliments to the Chef and a big thank you from us.

Had always wanted to visit this pub. It is a beautiful gem the interior was beautiful and very rustic. Staff very nice. Will return to try the food unfortunately the kitchen was closed.

We have now visited The Bridge 3 times in the last month. Firstly for an evening meal with friends and what a lovely evening we had. Secondly Sunday lunch which was delicious, I didn't have to cook and it was all served perfectly. Lastly for lunch today. We sat outside by the river and had fish and chips and a salad with triple cooked chips as a side. Again all was gorgeous.

We were four for Sunday lunch, 2 adults and young teenagers.Menu was typical Sunday lunch. A number of young women were waiting to serve us and we ordered drinks. Clearly very inexperienced but trying hard. An older woman ( the owner I think) arrived at our table and announced "soda water!" I said we had not ordered it, to which she replied "well what DID you order?" She wasn't so much managing the younger staff as ordering them around. We felt sorry for them. The food was very disappointing. Why can't Sunday lunch be served with fresh looking vegs, ie not smothered in sauce or whatever and overcooked, crisp roast potatoes instead of partially cooked ones with oil on them and a proper Yorkshire pud instead of tasteless balloons. My pork was overcooked.Couldn't wait to leave so I went to the bar to pay and it was a mess of crockery, glasses and bits of paper. Finally, they chose a busy, sunny day to 'smoke' their new pizza oven so we couldn't open some of the windows! Not for us I'm afraid.

We booked for Sunday lunch with three generations of our family. We love The Bridge as a pub, but had not tried the Sunday lunch. My father is 98 years old and my grandson is just 13, so there is a wide range of tastes in this review.

Saturday lunchtime, very busy but managed to fit us in. Lovely food and friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back for another visit soon.

Booked for Sunday lunch met by friendly staff shown to our table, lovely rustic feel to the restaurant,food served quickly waitresses were helpful & attentive roast beef meal was outstanding bit of a twist on the traditional roast cannot praise it highly enough great to see local produce used, dessert we had cheesecake homemade and beautifully presented. Will definitely be back

Four adults visited this pub/restaurant for an evening meal in July.

Excellent service and good food. Very friendly people. Will return without question. Menu was found to be varied and included vegetarian. Table service was pleasant without being overpowering. Good choice for sitting either formal in the restaurant or table in the bar. Prompt service between courses.

We heard the Inn was under new management and decided to try it out. And we are so pleased we did. The service is very friendly and efficient with the food being excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Hadnt booked but arrived early enough and took a seat outside for dinner. Inside looked welcoming and had a pleasant breeze on what was a warm July evening and the place quickly filled so in certain nights it seems booking is advisable.

Had lunch with family and friend. Food excellent, service attentive and well worth a visit. This old inn has undergone a complete make-over and by the summer the gardens will be revamped and very inviting.

Popped in to The Bridge Inn at 3pm just before they were due to close after fishing locally. Even though they had just finished a very busy lunch service they did not turn us away and made us very welcome. The kitchen had closed but they offered to make us a sausage sandwich and wow what a sandwich it was. Superb proper sausages in a fantastic toasted bread. Fantastic chips as well. great staff and well looked after beer. They deserve to do well at the newly reopened pub. We will be back.

Driven past a few times but noticed it’s had a refurbishment recently so decided to call in. Very pleased I did, friendly staff and an interesting fresh cooked menu. If you’re in the area I recommend you try it out.

Visited on a busy Friday evening. The Bridge Inn has been redecorated and is much brighter and more welcoming. The special gin menu, together with the nonalcoholic “Mary Poppins” cocktail, was enticing.

The Bridge Inn which has recently reopened has had a complete makeover. The food is great, however, the service is very slow. On Sunday they had one waitress and really needed two. I'm sure they will get there and it will be a welcome addition to the pub/restaurants in the area.

Came here on a recommendation as had heard that it had been done up and was dog friendly. As it turned it the weather was great so we stayed outside. We all had lunch, lovely meals and the staff were amazing, so attentive despite it being quite busy and very friendly. Will definitely be back.

My boyfriend, and our friend and I booked a table for a Saturday, unbelievably busy and the staff found a way to make us all feel special and were super attentive.

We were a good sized group of friends with young kids. We were made to feel welcome in a smart and light restaurant with great views. We had Sunday lunch and the food was delicious. Really good. The roasts looked great and the veggie offering was a+. Decent prices only small negative was over enthusiastic waiting staff but didn't dampen a lovely lunch.

A relaxing and charming rustic retreat nestled by the river - delicious food and delightful service with excellent drinks made to perfection! An absolute must! Loved everything about it! Can’t wait to go back again! Thank you

Had heard nothing but good thimgs about this place so we went to check it out! What a superb little pub in an astonishingly beautiful location. Don’t normally do these trip advisor stuff but this place deserved a special mention!

We had been wanting to visit The Bridge Inn at Kentchurch since it reopened under new ownership in February. Although I had only been once before a few years ago, it was immediately obvious on approaching the pub that a great deal of renovation had taken place outside, and on entering the pub it was clear that the interior had also had a major renovation too.

We visited the Bridge Inn for dinner with friends . A lovely atmosphere and tasteful decor. The food was very good . A great little find, looking forward to many more visits in the future.

The pub and restaurant are in the most beautiful location overlooking the Monnow River while the river banks on the opposing side belong to Wales.

The pub has recently been taken over and what a fantastic job has been done. The walls etc have gone right back to the beautiful original with a few contemporary touches. Light, relaxing, brilliant service. Small menu cooked freshly, divine food.... this is now our favourite local restaurant and it is reasonably priced as well. Almost afraid to recommend it, not sure I want the secret to get out in case it gets too popular.By the way they bent over backwards to accomodate my husband's dietary requirements.

A visit with friends at The Bridge Inn was very successful. The bar after renovation looks great. Great food, everything prepared on site. Friendly atmosphere and service. I heartily recommend.

Visited with my 91 year old father for drink and maybe dinner on 16 March 2019. Bar was crowded with foul mouthed young men. Land lady did nothing to moderate their language, and then got stroppy with us for leaving. Such a shame as there's been a lot of investment in the place, but it will fail.

What an amazing venue, we had the most amazing baby shower there. The pub has recently been renovated and is under new managment. The food was outstanding and the mock-tails are the best Iv ever tasted and looked amazing. I didn't feel like I was missing out when everyone else was drinking proseco I was loving my mock-tail. Wonderful staff and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We were a large group of 15 and the food all came out together and was hot and extremely tasty. They had the traditional pub meals as well as some lovely new alternatives so everyone was spoilt for choice. Everyone loved it and the portion sizes were good. Already scheduled our next visit. Couldn't fault it at all what a gem to have on our door step.

Called in for an impromptu dinner at this recently reopened pub. Offers a short menu which changes regularly. I went for the Rib Eye Steak which proved to be an excellent choice, perfectly cooked & served with mushrooms & garlic. The homemade chips were some of the best I have had. My wife had the Burger which was homemade & again excellent.

Went to celebrate a birthday meal with friends. Very nice new renovations of a lovely old pub. Service was terribly slow and the one waitress very rude which was a shame as the other staff were lovely, the food was good if disjointed and slow.

Called on to try The Bridge out after a fantastic walk. Lovely atmosphere when we entered and a good choice of beers all well kept. We stayed for a meal and were extremely impressed. A tasty starter shared between three of us followed by the most fantastic spicy lamb curry, the best I have ever had! The service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. We wish them well.

Lovely country pub with plenty of parking space outside. very nicely renovated to a high standard. Wood burning stove at each end of the pub. Cosy, relaxed bar area and a separate welcoming restaurant on slightly higher level. Amazing food at very reasonable prices. I had a tasty starter of pea pancakes with asparagus, poached egg and an eggs Benedict sauce which was delicious followed by a beautiful goats cheese and beetroot salad with sourdough bread. My husband had garlic mushrooms on ciabatta followed by a rib eye steak and chips. Homemade cheesecake to share afterwards. Everything was cooked fresh to order. Good choice of vegetarian options and a vegan option too. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going back... every week if my husband has his way!

I know this place more than 15 years , I know and have been nearly all the pubs in south herefordshire, with this new modern twist and new energetic couple with international knowledge ,experience ,fantastic food , drink and friendly staff and ambiance welcomes you perfectly.

Had a table booked for 7.30pm but on arrival they had no record of it. They then showed us to a table!

Sunday lunch here with friends after walking up Garway hill. Good selection of real ales - Greene King IPA, Tudor Brewery's Skirrid Welsh Bitter and Hobson's Old Prickly - which was excellent. We all had the slow-cooked belly pork with all the veg, it was fantastic!

This place is amazing, a little gem found by my husband a few years ago The food is fantastic and I've just had my first Sunday lunch there today which didn't disappoint.Alwys best to book as Andy does all the cooking with very little help while Nick runs the bar.Its by far my favourite place to eat.

Seguimos a la orden y nos quedamos agradablemente sorprendidos con la calidad y el sabor de la comida. Valió la pena cada céntimo. Comida casera en Real un alto estándar. No dudaría en volver a llamar de nuevo cuando hacemos el mismo viaje. Sin duda un buen lugar para probar.

A lovely, quietly situated pub. If you want tranquility then this is the place to go! If you have a motorhome it has parking (or caravan). Tried the local cider, very good on hot day. didn't eat there this time but know food is good.

I always take my Mother here whenever I can when I visit from York, it is one of her favourite haunts, and mine come to that

Great place to stop for a cosy drink. Love the smell of the burning fire. Very friendly and made us feel very welcome. A very relaxing atmosphere.

We are fortunate to live nearby The Bridge and so we are able to eat here quite regularly. Whatever meal you choose, it is always delicious and the new pies on the menu are well worth trying. Sunday lunch is the best for miles around with lots of fresh vegetables to complement the locally sourced meats. And Andi's homemade cheesecakes are utterly delicious.

Our friends took us here for our first old English pub beer and it was very good, so we had a few more and before you knew it we needed dinner. All up a smashing little pub and make sure you read the saying on the hearth and pat the old border collie dog

Our party of 5 mature blokes with a wicked line in banter and liking of good old hearty pub grub walked 10 miles across the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. When we stopped at the Bridge Inn at 1:31 for lunch the young barmaid said she'd have to check with the kitchen as they normally stopped meals at 1:30. We said we'd be happy with a plate of sarnies if that helped. The faceless answer from the kitchen was no meals, no sarnies and we were directed a mile down the road to another pub that was shut on Wednesday lunchtimes. Fair do to the student barmaid, at least she had dignity to look embarrassed at her boss's response. We walked another 3 miles and had a lovely welcome and meal and better banter in the Dog Inn at Ewyas Harold.

Quiet pub set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. We went for a midweek lunch. The food was straight-forwards but tasty, and home cooked with friendly service. It's a pub with good food, rather than anything gastro. Nice garden next to a river that marks the border between England and Wales. Three ales on draught, all from Greene King (although this definitely felt like a free house, I doubt it's owned by GK). Anyway the beers were in good nick, and at least were not the obvious GK choices. A summer special, Ruddles Bitter, and Golden Hen.In summary, a nice country pub and worthy of your custom.

Visited here last night whilst staying in Grosmont, we sat in the lovely garden with our dog Monty, it was very quiet, service was excellent our food was brought to us, we ate mushrooms with blue cheese and duck spring rolls and scampi and I had Mediterranean risotto which was amazing would highly recommend.

Having eaten here before we decided to try the Sunday Lunch. I'm so glad we did, probably the best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub to date. I couldn't fault the meat (I had chicken breast my partner had beef) & the vegetables were lovely, cheesy leeks with lots of cheese in the sauce, lovely roasties & red cabbage too. I would have been happy with the just the veg & we cleared our plates, Then of course we couldn't resist the cheesecake. Left feeling very full & content.

We tried The Bridge for the first time last weekend as we have recently moved to the area and have friends moving nearby. My wife needs a gluten-free diet which is sometimes tricky, but the owners couldn't have made it easier for us (even cooking my wife's cheesy leeks separately).The pub has a really welcoming feel, the large garden was ideal for four very energetic young children and the food was incredible! Unlike some pubs who feel the need for a 10 page menu, The Bridge has a smaller menu with everything on it done very, very well.Thanks to all the staff there, We'll be seeing you again soon!

Made very welcome as we walked in to the Pub immediately.Lovely meal good location.All areas including toilets very clean. Real Beer and good quality Wines. Food reasonable prices. We will return.

We had booked this lovely traditional pub for a lunch for 17 bellringers this week. The baguettes and chips were lovely and set us up to ring at the next two towers. We loved the view from the restaurant and friendly staff. Thanks Nick.
