1st time using this fish & chip shop. Came up for 5 days to visit family nearby in whitecross, and so wanted fish & chips for ages. So my brother reccomended this place. The young girl behind counter very lively & energetic which is good as sets tone for a happy atmosphere in the shop. Fish was great & freshly cooked. My only concern is that credit cards are not taken, where it is the norm these days to take credit cards or cash. As I wanted to pay for dinner for my brother & his family a little treat from me, having no cash point close by other thsn the Sainsbury's he paid a bit embarrassing though, but next day paid him back. Overall service good food fresh and will visit again soon when I come up from London with my family next. 🙏 Thankyou though 🙏

Honestly the best Fish and Chips in Hereford. When you order Cod you get actual Cod rather than pollok. Nothing is too greasy. They even put fish on the warmer sideways so that it doesn't go soggy while the rest of the order cooks. Just make sure you take cash, as it's cash only at time of writing.

Great chip shop, plenty of choice and pleasant staff. On the mainroad so parking can be an issue.

Lovely pie and chips. Large portions freshly made to order. Great service would recommend to anyone passing. If I was to say anything I would say the chips were too much!! A huge portion which I was unable to finish. A suggestion to them is to give a bit less which would undoubtedly help them with their profit margin..

This is our 'go to' when I can't face cooking again. They are always friendly, the fish is fresh and one portion of chips does both of us - even with my husband's appetite.

Phoned through an order and got served before a couple of other people who were in the shop, the food was better than the fish n chips we had the night before and a lot cheaper.

Very nice fish and chips! The fish was a really generous portion and probably the biggest large fish I’ve ever seen, It covered the whole box with the width of it! The chips were lovely and crispy and we clearly made to protection. On top of all this the couple who work here are very friendly and helpful people. This wait is kinda long but I guess it’s worth it for what you get!

Fab food, quite a long wait, like really long.. And it does not accept card, and the sainsbury ATM machine is a reasonable walk away.

Oh my word!!! I have lived in Hereford almost 8years now and my wife only just introduced me to this place! We have been here, there and everywhere except this place!! After the 1st takeaway which was so tasty and good costs I had to have another 1, 2 weeks later! This 2nd takeaway was even better! I don’t know how they do them chips but it seems their coated in a chip seasoning when actually they are not 🧐! Unreal I must say!! My favourite chip shop of all time

The place to get your chips in Hereford! We don't have a takeaway very often, but when we do this is our go-to place! The chips are always top-notch, and you also get a lot for your money. If you haven't already definitely give Batterlicious a go, you won't be disappointed! 😁

My son had a small chips and a large battered sausage he loved it scoffed it down! I had Chinese curry and small chips, the best curry sauce ever. My daughters first time coming here she had a battered burger and chips and usually the battered burger is too greasy in other chippys but she loved it the best chips in Hereford. She said this morning she said can we go again 😂💕

Excellent fish and chips. Nice sized piece of good quality cod, not greasy and more than enough chips. We ordered for five of our friends who all agreed they were the best fish and chips they had tasted. We would highly recommend.

Lovely food love that the food is fresh to order but tried the chicken tikka and chips tonight and could barely eat it its definitely not chicken tikka more like spaghetti bolognese without the mince meat definitely won't be ordering that again really wish I order the chicken curry

We have now visited Batterlicious several times, they are the best chippy we have ever been to, we now plan our visits to Herefordshire to coincide with their opening hours. The couple who run ii are lovely and friendly. See you Sunday evening

Great value, clean, friendly and freshly cooked fish and chips.

We finally went there last night, we are both over 65, so have been to a few. They were the very very best, delicious and hot to the last mouthful. The staff were lovely, we are going to time our visits to Shobdon, to coincide with their opening times.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The best fish and chips shop in the town. It's cooked by order so you will always get the freshest fish and chips. You may need to wait for it though because of it, but you won't be disappointed. Moreover, they always give generous portion. In terms of the cleanliness and safety, it is immaculate.

Called in for good old fish and chips for 3. Freshly cooked and I must say they were wonderful and plentyful too. Will definatley be going back when back at the Ford again.

The quality and service is second to none, the fish batter is superb. The owners and staff are efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this fish and chip shop and in my opinion it is the best in Herefordshire.

There are so many positive reviews on here, that I figured this was a no brainier. How wrong I was. Lousy parking (I’m not paying a pound in the Horse and Groom for five minutes), reheated chips, and a tiny portion. Add to this the insane amount of salt poured on the chips (probably to mask the fact that they were lunchtimes chips (or older)), and I’m convinced to never go back. Abysmal.

This fish and chip shop has never failed to please. This was a treat tonight for my husband and I and it they were delicious and very good value for money too!

Lovely fish- perfectly cooked. Chips golden brown, (not the white under cooked ones most chippies seem to do). Piping hot too and excellent curry sauce. Can't fault it.

Been going here for years and never found another chip shop quite as good! Friendly staff, good quality good, cheap prices and gorgeous curry sauce!😍 Their veggie burger is one of the best around.

For a small town, Hereford has three or four really good chippys (as well as tens of not so good ones), with Batterlicious being, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. The staff are friendly and the prices are good, and the chips themselves are to die for. For me though, the star of the show is the curry sauce. Spicy, hot, good portions and VEGETARIAN. Highly recommend, they won’t let you down.

Batterlicious has been the best chip shop in Hereford for so many years for all the right reasons. My daughters used to love it as young children and still speak fondly of it now in their late twenty's.

Lovely fish and chip shop with friendly, helpful staff and serving freshly cooked food in a clean, tidy environment. The family enjoy the occasional portion of chips from the restaurant and I wouldn't fault it.
