We found this wonderful pub by luck by googling “ the nearest pub open now” and what a find. My wife and I (The Yorkshire couple) called in to pass an hour while our digs were ready so called in for a quick drink. The moment we walked through the door we were made to feel really welcome by the staff and customers. We returned two days later for their steak night, two steaks for £26, what a bargain…. Great food and fantastic service and lovely staff and customers. Thanks to all at the Druids Arms who made us feel very welcome you were brilliant!!! Our only complaint…… you’re too far away to call in regularly….

We went for dinner as a family of 12 people and had a fabulous evening. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food is pub grub plus specials and was great. Most definitely f us ordered burgers but there was plenty to choose from. Really tasty and good portions. I would highly recommend a visit. It's obviously a popular place so we did make a reservation. Plenty of free parking.

We were staying about 5 minutes drive from The Druids Arms and it was highly recommended by our AirBnb hosts. There was a decent sized car park with a lovely large beer garden next to a stone monument. The pub itself was quite small inside, but cosy and quaint. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, as were the patrons. We had a beef pie and a crispy chicken dish, both were delicious. It was so nice that we booked in for steak night on Wednesday. The steak was very reasonably priced and the chips were absolutely outstanding! Some of the best chips we've had!

I had heard many good recommendations about this place so booked for a Sunday roast. WOW. The food was really good and the portion sizes generous. Probably the best Sunday roast in the whole Chew Valley. We will definitely be returning. I have heard that their steak nights are really good as well so that will be for next time. Booking is advisable as this is not the largest pub and it can be very popular. There is a good size car park beside the pub so please don't park on the road.

Really homely and welcoming! Log fires in main bar area. Dining area quite spartan, but it is a real country pub, so what did I expect. This pub is seriously old and has character in spades to boot! Menu was very reasonable and staff knowledgeable when asked. Meals arrived with little fuss, all hot and all eagerly dispatched! Puddings followed and they went the same way! As we left the log fire was roaring, beer was being pulled and folks were settling in for a wet Saturday afternoon a scene that must have been played for centuries I would imagine! Embrace the history, embrace the pub for what it is - a traditional country pub serving great food and great beer! Book it soon!

Where can you go on a Monday night and get excellent home cooked food at very reasonable prices?....... The Druids Arms! We were a party of 5 and enjoyed excellent food last night. We had two coq au vin, a fish and chips, a fully loaded burger & fries and an outstanding Roast Pheasant (choice of either pheasant or mallard duck on the specials board), various deserts, plenty to drink and all for £138.00 for 5 people!! For the quality of the food and portion size, this is excellent value. Also nice to see quite a few people dining and at the bar on a Monday night.

We came here after a Sunday walk with friends, having booked a table after reading some pretty good reviews. Unfortunately they didn’t live up to them. After preordering in the week we called on Sunday to say we’d be 10 minutes late at which point I was told they had been let down by a supplier, so no Nut Roasts were available. Which is ok, I get it. We were offered a goats cheese and leek lattice which sounded good. What we received was something I imagine came from Iceland, from frozen, and filled with mush, not even sure if it had any goats cheese in. The veg on all the roasts wasn’t anything special and could have been done better at home frankly. For those who had beef (advertised as medium rare), they had well done, and it looked pretty sad. The starters were ok, but too simple to mess up. It’s a lovely pub, and friendly staff and locals, but perhaps this is better for a drink or two rather than to be blown away by a great Sunday roast.

As there is no online menu, we decided to take a chance and after checking out the Trip Advisor reviews, this country pub sounded good. We arranged to meet our friends for dinner. On arriving at the table we first noticed that the menus were “greasy” that said, the restaurant was small with a few tables and chairs, and set out well. The Saturday evening menu was limited to 5 main meals. Some would say this was a good thing, as sometimes few choices are better. When we came to order we were told the fish & chips were off. There was only one vegetarian option available which was disappointing, a side salad was ordered with the veggi risotto. Also ordered were 2 steaks and 1 ham egg and chips. When the meals arrived we were told that they were out of salad! The ham was very dry, the chips on all 3 meals were “squashy” with grease, and although golden, did not appear to have been cooked properly. One steak was very tough. When we complained it was agreed to be changed, We all waited while the steak was replaced, only to be told they were out of steak. The value of the meal was agreed to be taken off of the bill. We were offered a free drink to which we declined as were were driving. We were also offered a free bottle of wine if we came back at another time. These offers were sent via the waitress from the Manager. I must point out that at no time did the Manger come to see us themselves. Needless to say we will not be going back, and WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone, especially vegetarians!

Called in for lunch after reading reviews. Service good, pub nicely decorated. Food a bit of a let down. Lasagne was lacking meat, but was tasty. Chicken wrapped in bacon again tasty, but bacon under cooked and overall not very warm. We will try again...

What a lovely little pub this is. Interesting location with the stone 'Cove' and nearby stone circles, a nice beer garden backing on to a quaint village church. Very friendly welcome from the barmaid who also doubled as our waitress. It has a very small inside dining room so I'd book if you want food indoors. And I would heartily recommend that you do try the food! Somerset is blessed with many wonderful village and countryside pubs that do great food, and we tried to sample as many as we could during our week-long holiday in the area - including the renowned Pony and Trap. However the food at the Druids Arms beat all the others hands down. Highlights were the mushrooms on toast, the Druid burger, and a chicken, bacon and leek special.

Supper for 2 on a Tuesday evening. Lovely location and very pleasant decor. Food choices very limited and took more than 30 minutes to come. Cauliflower cheese did not taste of cheese! Burger very small. Nobody asked us during or after the meal if everything was ok.

We went here with 2 adults and 2 children. This is a lovely old fashioned pub with great character and wonderful staff. The food was also very good too. Very good comfort food. When we arrived the room we were in was full with kids who were having a party so you can imagine it was a little loud. The staff knew that there were a few bookings and moved the party to a more private room, which was a lovely touch. the two wonderful ladies serving us were great and made great conversation with my 11 yr old twins. In all this is a lovely characterful pub with great food and good staff. If you're in the area make sure you pop in

We ate twice in the Druids Arms over a weekend, visiting family in Bristol. On the Saturday evening, we enjoyed live entertainment, excellent food and a warm welcome from the regulars. Sunday lunch was just as good. This is an excellent, well-run, friendly pub, with good value, high quality food. It's everything that a modern pub should be, and we will certainly be going back on our next trip to the area.

The Druids Arms has certainly had a major revamp since I last visited, but what an improvement it is, and whilst it is still quite basic, the service, food, drinks, and quality were faultless. We had lunch comprising of Cod & Chips and the Burger, which were cooked to perfection even if the Cod could have been a bit bigger, yes I know I need to cut down. The Settle seating isn’t to everyone’s comfort, but the Doom Bar was silky, and we had such a good Lunch and dining experience they have to be rated as 5 Stars.I would not hesitate to recommend or visit again.

As three senior walkers we did, stopping for mid-day refreshments during our walk. We were made welcome. The beer choice was good and the selection and quality of snacks/sandwiches, supplemented with chips of course, was excellent. The building was originally a cottage, so is compact and cosy. Outside there is an excellent garden for al fresco refreshment seekers which contains interesting, original and unusual standing stones (The Cove) for those interested in the stone circle of Stanton Drew. We left suitably refreshed and looking forward to another visit.

My husband and I were staying at the Tithe Barn, down the road and the Druids Arms was recommended to us. Well, we were not disappointed! They serve gorgeous Bottega rose prosecco which is yum :-)We had dinner in the cosy little dinning area and was served by a lovely, friendly waitress. The food was fresh, delicious and the portion sizes huge! We were stuffed! Would definitely visit this cosy little gem of a pub again.

We booked a meal for 7.30 but after being stuck in traffic on the way down didn't arrive till 7.50....but this was no problem to the waitress who showed us to our table in the small but comfy dining room off the main bar, which appeared to be full of locals.... always a good sign. The dining room was intimate and would probably hold about 20 people maximum, on this night there were a table of 4 persons and 3 tables of 2 persons including ourselves and the atmosphere was good with a buzz of relaxed conversation. As we settled in the young waitress took our drinks order and left us a menu explaining any unavailability on the specials board. Within what seemed like seconds she returned with our drinks and the service was continued in the same friendly efficient way throughout the night. We shared a starter of mushrooms cooked in garlic and cream and to follow I had a chicken linguini and my partner had the last remaining sea bass from the specials menu....It's safe to say they were all excellent and portions of a good size, so much so that we couldn't face a dessert being totally full. The two young waitresses were friendly and efficient throughout and when our bill arrived after the food and two drinks each we were pleasantly surprised to see it came to less than £45. The beer by the way was splendid. All in all a very pleasant and rewarding dining experience which we can heartily recommend.... Do book in advance though to avoid disappointment as it can obviously get quite busy.

Popped in for dinner on the way back from holiday. My steak was cooked to perfection as was everything else on my plate. My partners ham, egg and chips was also delicious. Every meal I've had here has been better than good and such a lovely setting.

We were popping down to the Stones at Stanton Drew, it was a beautifully sunny day so we called into the pub first, to have a drink and sit in the garden where the Cove stones are sited, the Lady behind the bar was very friendly and helpful handing my wife a folder with much of the information on the stones and their archaeology, well worth stopping off.

Decided to take a trip to the standing stones at Stanton drew, it's a 3.1/2 hr drive but on such a lovely day with the roof down why not knock another megalithic site of the list, Timed it so we'd reach the Druids arms pub for lunch, this little pub in a little hamlet was great pleasant staff very clean loos! And standing stones in the gardenand sun shining down what more could you want! We ordered some food from the bar and took our seats in the garden the starters came up a minute before the main course! But that was OK as we were sharing olives, breads, etc wife had the cheese ploughman's and thoroughly enjoyed it especially the home made piccalilli, I had fish and chips which came with garden peas and tartar sauce all cooked to perfection, the only thing that stopped me giving this pub 5 star review was the size of the portion on the plate it looked like a child's meal and certainly wasn't worth the £13. Thank the gods my other half has a small appetite or I'd have gone hungry!

Easy to say the new chef is a keeper and the staff are the best around. Very welcoming pub and I will be returning very soon!!

My colleague and I have been working and staying nearby and have used this pub for an evening meal on five occasions during the last two weeks. Always a warm welcome, blazing fire in the pub, lovely staff and very good service. The food is excellent, sensibly priced and generous portions. Fresh garden peas in March - wonderful. Recommended without reservation.

When a group of strangers from up the valley wander in to a local village pub, one never knows what to expect. But fair play. A warm welcome from a lovely barmaid, well priced drinks and a nice atmosphere in a modern yet traditional pub. I havent had food there yet (hence I've not YET given it five stars) but I hear that's lovely too. As we only live up the valley, we will be gladly returning.

On arrival we weren't so sure we'd picked the right place to have dinner as we were told on arrival we had been put in the 'darts room' due to a large loud party in the main restaurant. The lady who served us was very attentive and kind, she kept checking everything was okay and offered to move us into the main restaurant once the party had moved themselves into the darts room. We had the bread and oil as well as the sharing Camembert for starter which was lovely. I then had the chicken with bacon and cheese and my fiancé had the burger which we both agreed were really tasty. Even though we were so full of good food and wine we opted for a pudding - I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was really yummy. Really this place outdid our first judgements and it shows you mustn't judge a book by its cover. The food really was great and I'm glad we picked there for our dinner whilst on our weekend away. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it was really, really cold in the pub and main restaurant, so much so that we had to wrap our coats around ourselves!

My husband & myself visited the Bath Flapjackery today & purchased 3 different flapjacks. Sadly they were so dry & crumbly we ended up throwing a good bit away as they just crumbled to pieces! We have
