We popped in here whilst visiting Radstock for the day and boy we were so pleased we did. They didn't have a table immediately available but offered to keep us the next free one. The staff including the owner were so helpful and friendly and the service was excellent. We had a toastie sandwich and a baked potato, both came with a lovely fresh salad and were very tasty. Large portions and reasonably priced. Would recommend this cafe highly and I'm just sad we won't be able to return in the near future. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

I can highly recommend the Sunday lunches as they are good value for the money and taste absolutely delicious. You certainly get your money’s worth.

We have had tea and cake after walking our dog along the cycle tracks several times. We have always been made very welcome and the cake is beautifully served. Don't let the location put you off.

Whilst I’m sure the food is nice, I didn’t get as far as trying it. My first and only experience was when I popped in to ask about Christmas lunches. Having just had this Christmas, I was naturally thinking ahead to our plans next year & looking into one of their take away dinners, as a way of making our Christmas day run a bit smoother. I’m not quite sure what made the chef (owner?) quite so cross. I could hear him loudly telling the waitress (to pass on to me): “I ain’t even thinking about Christmas. Don’t know if we’re even doing it again but I ain’t talking about it”. Loudly saying this, when I was stood right there yet not making eye contact with me. It made me feel so small and stupid for asking about it. I came away feeling like I never want to eat there, don’t want to recommend it and that the customer service is somewhat lacking. Make people feel like valued customers, it’s so easy. If you’re cross with your potential customers for even enquiring before they’ve experienced your food, something isn’t right. I was just asking a question about a service the cafe offers. I’ve since read through some Google reviews, the worst rated all complain about the owner being aggressive/ rude… Edited after owner’s response: You’re right, how dare I pop in when I was passing (I’m not often in the area!) and when you had customers. Wishing you & your woeful customer service a prosperous year.

I run a photo walking group nearby each Tuesday and it can be a rush to fit in a bite to eat before. Always now come here for a well cooked tasty full English breakfast all delivered by a great owner and staff

Ordered for very first time had beef roast dinner to takeaway was still hot when I got home was very lovely and filling good size portion with loads gravy would recommend and good value for money

Our first takeaway Sunday roast from the Riverside cafe today. Beef was fantastic and the vegetables, gravy, yorkshires and roast potatoes were spot on. We've kept the pigs in blankets until tomorrow!

The food is really nice and homemade. It’s close to my place, so went there with my bf few times already, never left disappointed. The people there are nice and polite, always ask you if everything is fine. Before I write any review I always order/go to a place at least few times, so I know that what I’m saying is actual and valid. This is definitely a consistent place with nice food and good service. Wish tables were a bit higher, as I’m a tall person 😂 but yeah, definitely recommend

Great place to stop and get some cake and coffee on a bike ride

We were going to pop along today for a bite to eat, the pictures look really cute. But the owner's replies to the customer reviews have made us change our mind. Calling customers pathetic and **** is just awful.

Lovely place to get some food or a nice hot coffee. We phoned in advanced and asked if it's busy or not and the guy was very polite and allowed us to reserve seating too. We got there and it was all ours for a few minutes, but the 2 staff members we saw were so very welcoming and kind to us both. Delicious coffee and lovely food. We had battered cod, chips and peas + Sausage, mash and onion gravy with veggies. The location is very pretty with a nice and cozy interior. We enjoyed our visit and will be returning customers. Definitely recommend.

What a total delight to discover this little cafe restaurant. The most delicious roast dinner, home made cauliflower cheese and delicious roast potatoes with extra gravy. All topped off by delicious chocolate cake and really lovely, chatty hosts. Directed us to a great local park afterwards. :)

My wife's birthday fell on a Sunday and our local pub was fully booked. Someone mentioned that this place (which I've driven past a thousand times but never been in) did a take-away Sunday Roast so in order to avoid the faff of cooking and cleaning at home we decided to go for it - and we are SO GLAD we did! The meat choices were beef, pork or chicken and as there were 10 of us we had at least one of each and a very decent amount all round. Each and every meal came with absolutely LOADS of trimmings - carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, mashed swede, Yorkshire Puddings, stuffing, roast potatoes and lots of wonderful gravy. I'd also like to note that the veg was all very well cooked - broccoli and cabbage had a crunch and weren't limp or over-boiled like they can so often be when cooked en masse. Everything was delicious, piping hot, and plentiful. Shane (proprietor) and his team couldn't have been more helpful and we will be spreading the word and definitely coming back for more. Stopped off on a cycle ride expecting to get a slice of cake and a coffee only to find out they serve a roast dinner! Food was excellent, service exceptional. Defo worth a visit!

Charming Riverside cafe. Next to a busy junction but still pleasant outside. Inside is small but clearly a popular spot and friendly service too.

Closed at 4.15pm on a Thursday. Shame as advertised as open till 5pm. Missing out on dance school trade from across the road that runs 4.15pm till 5pm. The owner should check his closed sign on the door. Was definitely closed sign up when I came past. I am not sure why the owner is getting so aggressive. Yes I did amend my review from 2 star to 3 star as I thought it may be an honest mistake having the closed sign up. When I peered through the door window there was a couple sat by the window and a gentleman behind the counter. I honestly thought they were closed as the sign said so. I assumed they had shut to new customers and just letting the couple inside finnish up. With hindsight yes I could have tried the door and asked but being British we don't like to bother people or at least I don't. Glad I didn't go in as I don't think I would have had a warm welcome . I'm happy to remove this review in full as it sounds like an honest signage error. Just didn't expect such rudeness from the owner.

Thank you for being open and agreeing to be our meeting place this Tuesday morning. My friends really enjoyed their breakfasts and were set up nicely for the near 9-mile hike up across Ammerdown, round Babington and back via Haydon that followed!

Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch not one thing I could fault. The beef was absolutely delicious excellent gravy selection of veg Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets.

I think it's in new ownership. It looks charming and needs more customers. There's a great museum 50m away and the council is trying to brighten up the centre of Radstock which clearly was once rundown, but it gives the impression of being on the way up. As for the cafe, good coffee, helpful staff, pretty decoration. Actually if you buy a coffee they'll refill it for free. There are some great walks nearby so this would make a great starting and end place.

The coffee shop is clean and beautiful, the food is delicious, the waitress is friendly and very good, and let us taste the black pudding for free, very good coffee shop, high recommending.

Went with friends for a breakfasts, lovely small cafe that provides a ample breakfast to sustain everyone ,washed down with a cappuccino and tea for wife all for £ 17.95 . Very friendly staff and well worth dropping in even just for the coffee.

Great coffee stop for cyclists and others, cake as well or more substantial food. Perfect service.

It is a very small venue in an interesting location. The food is simple but wholesome. It is far more entertaining on a sunny day, to sit outside and watch the traffic mis-behave, than in the limited space inside, where the furnishings are beginning to show how long and how often they have been used. There is more covers possible outside, but there are also as many damaged unusable seats, as there are good ones. With a bit of money spent on TLC the place could be made even more attractive and popular than it is already.

We had breakfast here in the morning and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly, none of it was greasy at all. The place needs a little updating hence the 4 stars and not 5. I would definitely recommend.

Just had the best Sunday lunch ever - being a Coeliac sometime restricts what is available but this lovely cafe/restaurant went the extra mile and we had a Sunday lunch with all the trimmings - Yorkshire puddings - gravy - stuffing all GF. Cannot recommend highly enough - plenty of top quality food for less than £10 - can’t be beat.

The staff were very polite and keen to 'get it right' with my food. On such a hot day as well this was no easy thing. The food was worth the money, and the genuin welcome made the hour bike ride worth it.

Amazing takeaway roast last Sunday, 100% will be ordering again!

I thoroughly recommend this cafe. When there was no table space inside the cafe, my friend and I took our cappuccinos outside, only to be later brought two more by the lovely lady running it who then refused to let us pay for these.

I have seen so many lovely pictures and read all the positive reviews of the food here so I was very disappointed to be served such a poor quality breakfast. I usually compare Breakfasts to the standard Wetherspoons Breakfast in terms of quality and price and the one I was served here was just awful. The food was of a poor overall quality, overcooked and served on a plate so hot it not only continued cooking but was untouchable. Every breakfast item was disappointing. I suppose the big reason I am so disappointed is all the really good reviews and pictures of fantastic looking meals posted by people in the local community, so I am sure it's not just marketing shots. Everyone has an off day and I will update this review after trying them again, hopefully after a much more positive overall experience. Update - I tried an evening meal and was left disappointed. A shame.

Orderd the takeaway beef roast . Beef was beautiful cooked with good portions. Veg was broccoli,carrots,swede and cabbage with a well cooked tasty cauliflower cheese. The meal came with Yorkshires, roasters, pigs n blankets and a good sized pot of gravy. The meal was hot when I got home . I would recommend

Went to The Riverbank last night for my 50th Birthday meal and was very impressed with the whole experience. Shane and his team made my whole party feel welcome and the food was exceptional. My wife throughly enjoyed her Strawberry Cheese cake. Thanks again Shane and see you in May when your new premises is up and running.

The Riverbank is a coffee place in the heart of Radstock but what don't realise that it does fantastic food. Open 7days a week on a Sunday you'll get a fantastic roast with a choice of meats. Superb just the way you're mother would have cooked it at the moment I'm not sure if you have to book. But to be sure of getting a table I would give them a call. You won't be disappointed. Paul R

My wife discovered this gem on a dog walk with her friends. When the chef gave the dogs a free sausage she was absolutely 'sold' on the place! There is an excellent local walk along the old railway up to a bridge called The Five Arches, a very interesting local museum and excellent cycle routes pass close by. Very well worth a visit ! (and a very big thank you from Poppy the mad spaniel )

A magic spot in which we thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful cooked full English breakfast. Coffee was excellent. Eggs perfectly cooked. But best of all is the great set of people who make the riverbank cafe such a welcoming and happy place to be ! We will be back :)

I came and went as quickly as I came! The first coffee shop I have visited in the Bath area that does NOT offer skimmed or semi-skimmed milk - only full fat! Surely, semi-skimmed is the minimum requirement these days? My first, and last, visit!

I dined at the Riverside Cafe in Radstock on a wet day in October, this is one of my rare trips to Radstock. This place is an iconic Radstock building which features in many photos of the two Radstock railways before they closed in the 1960/70s. It is a lovely but small cafe (just 17 seats). Don't be put off by the rather old fashioned wall coverings! I paid £7.50 for a breakfast plus cappuccino. There is a good selection of traditional English fare on the menu with a further 6 selections on the specials board (including salmon on the day I visited). They are also advertising a Sunday Roast. Note that the name is now 'Riverside Cafe' and not 'Coffeetop' as previously listed on TA. Recommended.

We love this local cafe/restaurant. Food is delicious and reasonable - always value for money and customers are always looked after properly.

First visit to The Riverbank this week and was very impressed. The café looks very small from the outside but this should not deter you. Meal was large, freshly cooked and value for money. The owner at the counter was very helpful and saw to all needs. Will definitely visit again when in Radstock.

My niece just moved to Radstock and we wanted to do lunch with her, we went to the nearest restaurant and what a find! We all saw the lovely breakfasts everyone was eating and although we were after the 12:00 cut off for breakfast, they were happy to cook it. The food was fresh, and so tasty, my 87 year old Mother that has a sparrows appetite, was shocked to be given 4 eggs on toast, she ate them all because they were so fresh and light and tasty. The whole meal including drinks for 3 less than £14. We’ll be back.......a lot.

We only had cake and coffee before (amazing chocolate and orange cake, by the way), but got tempted today to try the roast dinner. It was delicious! And so many veggies! Cauliflower cheese was the star of the show. And who doesn't love a chef who asks you if you'd like more gravy (and the plate already had loads!). We left with very happy tummies, and takeaway cherry cake for later. Very yummy and reasonably priced. We'll be back!
