Looks an amazing wine bar / restaurant we passed at lunch time and wanted to go in but the waitress was quite rude when we asked about a table so we didn’t bother, shame as it looks a fun place if you can put up with the snooty bxxxx

Went for the supper club. Food is great, service for those who aren’t drinking wine felt a bit lass attentive.

This is a place where one could spend endless hours sipping wine and soaking up the atmosphere. The wines are outstanding as is the service. The small plates are simple, honest food that complements the wine.

Brilliant place for a treat. Loved the light bites, fantastic wine and the service today was spot on!

Really cosy and welcoming. Great staff who are really happy to help with wine choices. Small plates were all tasty but the burnt butter ice cream was just delicious. Only downside was a rubbish kitchen extractor as our clothes and hair smelt really strongly of fried food on leaving. Would recommend and have done so already.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt I had to after the phenomenal experience I had here. Went for a lunch with a friend and sat in the restaurant area. Welcomed by the staff who were lovely and friendly. But the real excellence started from the second we sat down. The staff were perfect - not intrusive but never not there when needed. Their knowledge of the menu was impeccable and guided us perfectly through the menu. The wine is outstanding and we received excellent recommendations - the knowledge of the wine and the pairings were perfect. The food was small plates and we had 6 between us which was perfect. An expected hour lunch ended 5 hours later and just had the most wonderful time. Thank you all!!

Had a couple of great titles of wine at a very good price

We didn’t find anything special to the food, we had higher expectations for a restaurant listed in the Michelin guide. We have been charged £23 for two glass (125ml) of non-alcoholic wine which we found excessive. Next time we will pay more attention to the price. The only very positive point of our night was the atmosphere, very romantic and chic.

Lovely surroundings, excellent service and top notch food and drink. Staff were lovely - could not fault it. Favourite dishes:- Anchovies on toast, roast beetroot & beetroot caramel, Shropshire blue rarebit, carrot sorbet & chocolate mousse. I want to eat it all again!

I enjoyed this spot, the staff was welcoming and willing to take time to explain the menu options and expectations. I ordered three or four tapas and enjoyed each very much. Let's not talk about their outstanding selection of wine and pairing. This spot I will return to when in Bath again! I went to this location on two seperate occasions for wine and for dinner and enjoyed both!

Really wonderful experience. The restaurant is quite unique set around a wine shop, it's nicely done and very cosy. Travis did an excellent job with his wine recommendations he clearly knows what he's doing. He recommended us some wine to take with us for a Sri Lankan meal we were cooking the next day which was absolutely spot on. The food was delicious, we stuck to the sharing plates. Our only complaint is that portions could be a little bigger for the price. Overall I highly recommend a visit.

An absolute disaster of a lunch. The bread was an extremely disappointing start, with the underwhelming cheese course to follow - although the cheese was the highlight of the afternoon. The small plates entailed cold sandy/grainy artichokes and an extremely unpleasant amount of garlic in the sprouts. A waste of time, money and food. Left dissatisfied, thirsty, hungry and regretful.

What a wonderful place this is. The atmosphere amongst the many bottles was fantastic and much of the food sublime. The prepared and cooked food, rather than the charcuterie boards which were thin and rather dull, was truly exceptional and demonstrates a real talent in the chef. Service was very polite and attentive but limited in terms of suggestions or pairings. I would definately go again and focus on lots of the small plates which were a real treat, this chef is going places!

Delicious food, friendly staff and cool environment. Restaurant is basically within a wine shop, which they have a large selections of good wine, that can pair with some very delicious food. Staffs were very friendly and professional (especially on wine suggestions). I think it was great that I will visit again in the future and recommend to friends and family.

Atmospheric & it has comfy seating. Busy and popular bar in Bath. Staff are so lovely. Dogs welcome. Great selection of wines.

We had the most wonderful time at Beckford Bottle Shop on Saturday for a lingering lunch. The small plates were all delicious (we had most of them and the table favourite was the Bath Chaps) accompanied by some wonderful wines and excellent service from Travis and the team who catered well for an allergy and were so passionate about the wine and food. Fabulous all round, will absolutely be back again.

One day, as we were exploring parts of Bath we hadn't seen previously, we were coming back from a look at Hedgemead Park (quite lovely) when our desire for a nice lunch found us looking up and down the streets on our way back to the center of town and, lucky for us, my wife's keen eyes spied this storefront a block up and suggested we take a look. We first came upon the retail store and its impressive array of wines and other good things to drink and then proceeded to the next door, where we saw the signs offering good things to eat, so in we went to give it a try. We were offered a nice table in their dining area/bistro and handed menus that detailed their wine/food offerings, all of which sounded really appealing. We selected glasses of wine (three sizes of pours are available) and chose to try several small plates, including a serving of truly wonderful fried zucchini and a delicious array of sausages, cheeses and accompaniments on their charcuterie and cheese board. Everything was just perfect, portions were generous, and the service was truly friendly and helpful, which left us wanting for another branch of this place to open much closer to home. It looks like this place would be the perfect place to go for a meal on a warm summer day (it was a bit chilly on the day we visited), so if you find yourself in Bath on such a day, we'd strongly advise you to make your way on over to the BBS and indulge yourselves. Prices seemed quite fair, as well.

Fantastic restaurant with a lovely intimate atmosphere. Small plates served separately so each could be enjoyed and savoured. Lovely wine choice to accompany the food. We were able to try a sample of wine to make our choice .

We stopped by this wonderful shop to buy some wine and beer to take back to our Airbnb. It was a very popular place, filled with people having a drink. They have a great selection of wines and were very helpful in helping us pick up some great wines.

What a wonderful spot. The staff were fabulous, the setting is delightful and the wine selection is fantastic. The dishes were little plates of precision, beauty and lots of flavour. The celeriac and the mussels were particular highlights, and the pumpkin pannacotta made us both smile. We will be back!

Favourite dinner that we had in Bath! Atmosphere was so lovely and cosy, staff were really friendly and so helpful with the menu etc. And then the food and wine was just incredible! Really interesting flavours but we loved everything we tried.

My wife and I stopped in to pick up a bottle for our dinner at the Crescent. Travis was incredibly helpful in selecting a Bordeaux. We enjoyed the ambience so we came back the next day and enjoyed their own white label Bordeaux which was an excellent value at a window table. They have a great curated selection of mostly old world wines. We will definitely return when visit Bath again.

Stopped off for a nightcap here with friends recently just because it looked interesting. We were shown to a large sofa and chairs at the rear of the Bottle Shop and enjoyed a lovely glass of various wines. A wine shop, friendly authentic service and although we didn’t order food, there looked to be some tasty accompaniments available. Recommended.

What a great night in this cool, super friendly, part wine shop, part restaurant establishment with stunning service, food and drinks. We arrived at 6pm and were given a a great position at the counter in the window, looking out onto the bustling Saville Row walkway, what a superb people watching spot. We could also see the rest of the restaurant and were only an arms reach form the simply epic team. This is a small plates kind of restaurant and in the end I think we had 5 of them plus 3 desserts. Each one was a taste sensation, absolutely faultless and our incredible waitress with the gold sparkles under her eyes (so sorry I forgot your name) chose my wine pairing for the whole evening and a whisky at the end, seriously, it was all so good. Lovely clientele, superb location in the independents half of bath, we even got recommendations for where to go next which were great too. Thankyou so much, it made our wedding anniversary celebration in Bath even better

We were finally seated where she told us we'd have access to a limited menu. This would have been fine, but the appalling service left a sour taste so we decided to leave. There are plenty of lovely, friendly bars in Bath where they treat you politely- unfortunately this is one to avoid.

Amazing Restaurant! We had a great experience there, the staff were super friendly and helped us choose some great wines, plus the food was just spectacular! Highly recommended.

Popped in for a couple of drinks. Wine was great, tried the Chenin Blanc and Rioja Blanca, both recommended. Nice buzz to the place too. Service was great, especially the member of staff who followed us down the road for 500m or so, to hand us the bag we left behind (idiots that we are) - many thanks team Beckfords.

Lovely evening meal here during a visit to Bath. Staff very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the small plates and wine selection. The venue is upmarket but not pretentious, with a relaxed feel. We also purchased a bottle of wine from the bottle shop itself following excellent advice and information from the staff. Also enjoying a 5% discount off wine to take away, having dined there. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed evening.

Watch out for the stealth service charge on drinks only

Felt very welcome when walking in. Large selection of wine by the glass. The owner could answer all the questions we had about each wine. Food was delicious. Not the cheapest place but well worth a visit

Great wine and small plates in this lovely bistro. Setting is lovely, small and compact on a beautiful street. Wine list is great with a wide selection. Food choices limited but lovely. The service was friendly but not as attentive as other places. Reasonably priced.

Modern British sharing plates. The food is excellent, locally sourced, and the atmosphere relaxed and cozy. The wine list, as a wine merchant, is of course brilliant.

Food was outstanding, though portions are very small. Friendly, relaxed service and comfortable setting in the window counter watching the world go by. Would absolutely make this a regular stop on any trip to Bath - we had a lovely and delicious relaxed afternoon there. Deserts were unique and exceptional.

I had gone to the Beckford Bottle shop with my wife and friends to celebrate a birthday and we were attracted by the opportunity to sample both good wine (the location is a restaurant and wine shop) and good food. The style is small shared plates but offered a variety of interesting options including a platter of salami and cheese to start, as well as small dishes of Courgette fritters (excellent), asparagus, celeriac, chaps and venison. The fact that they have a wide variety of wines, many of which are available by the glass also results in a great culinary experience. Everything was very impressive, if you are looking for a comfortable meal of high quality it is worth consideration.

Food style here is sharing plates. Most of the dishes we ate were tasty and well prepared, though not the most generous in portion size. We had a couple of the cheeses to share which was probably the most disappointing plate in terms of size...

This place is fantastic! The food and drinks are both excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's the perfect spot to spend some quality time.

Just a lovely wine shop/bar with intimate dining areas serving small plates of well thought out food. As you’d expect, a great and reasonably priced wine selection and tremendous ambience. If you’re vegan like me, tell them in advance and they won’t disappoint.

We walked past the store and discovered that they sell NZ wines - Felton Road wines - which were unobtainable in NZ. So we had to buy a couple of bottles to enjoy while we were in the UK !! We had a good chat...

Rang up to book a table for 2, we were told they had plenty of space to accommodate us but just to ring 15 mins before arriving and we did exactly that. Confirmed over the phone they had a table for us, only to turn up and be eyed up and down by the server and told they couldn’t fit us in even after ringing earlier. Poor service from a supposedly good establishment.

Really wanted to love this place, booked well in advance after reading a review. Staff started out friendly and engaged, once we ordered, they disappeared. Took ages to order coffee after the meal, and longer to get the bill. Hefty price, though food is good, felt despite spending a substantial amount of money, staff didn’t care too much. Such a shame

We popped in here for a glass of wine and we were not disappointed.. Despite being busy they fitted us both in and we were served by a very knowledgeable young man who advised us on our choices. I would definitely recommend .

The layout of this venue is deceptively large, with a nice lounge area at the back, great for relaxing in with a few glasses of wine. Unfortunately there was no food on when we went, so can't say if it's any good although the small plates on offer would've been well worth a sample.

A few mishaps here. We were visiting Bath for the weekend and had been recommended this venue by a colleague, so I called around 5pm to try my luck for a table on a Saturday evening. I was told they were fully booked but that they had sofas which were first come first served and we could sit and eat and drink casually (rather than at a formal table). We arrived at 7:40pm and were told that they were still fully booked and the sofas were full but we could sit outside and wait and they would let us know once there was some space. As the weather was mild for November we agreed. After waiting 10/15minutes I asked a passing waitress if I needed to go into the bar to be served and she said she could take our order. We were told that we could not have small plates outside and so ordered charcuterie and wine. On our second round of wine, I was then told that because they were so busy we would not be allowed to order small plates on the sofas (when we eventually got to them)…(frustrating given that this the reason we had stayed and not gone to have dinner elsewhere…?) By 9:15pm I decided to pop inside and take a look at the sofas, and was incredibly frustrated to find that they were practically empty. I asked if we could move inside and was told of course… Upon sitting on the sofas I noticed that there was a table for two in the dining room that was empty and laid up for dinner. I asked our new waiter if anyone hadn’t turned up for dinner that evening and he said yes a table for two….I asked if we could take the table and was told no as the dinner service stopped at 9pm… The wine was delicious and the charcuterie good. They have an excellent selection of wines in the shop, but the venue is not cheap and at these prices they really need to work on the service. It is quite unacceptable to have such poor service outside, to be told conflicting information and then be forgotten about. We left cold and hungry having spent over £125.

This restaurant was ideal for a light lunch as they have a selection of small plates and cheese and meat boards. We decided on a mixed meat and cheeseboard. It is also a wine shop and as you would expect there is a good selection...

This place is marvellous. The most romantically delicious date night: company is always 10/10 but the food, wine and atmosphere matched perfectly. A gem of a find in beautiful Bath.

We went to the Beckford Bottle Shop for a birthday lunch. We were so impressed with the quality of service, food and wine. We were sat in the window seat which was lovely. We were served by a lovely gentleman called Travis. His knowledge of wine and the food they serve was exceptional. Thank you Travis for a brilliant experience!

Had a very good lunch here. Consisted of thoughtfully prepared and very tasty sharing plates. Delicious. Wine is good but a touch on the pricey side. Thankfully available by the glass! If you're in Bath do it.

What a find! Great place to just meet socially at the back of a wine sales shop. Small area with sofa and chairs. You can choose any wines they sake as just pay corkage in top. The other part is a restaurant that serves small plates, and wow the food was amazing. Reasonably priced and such friendly service. You must go here to this independent place and not your routine big chains although not really the place to take a family with teenagers it younger children.

Stumbled across this gem of a shop, wine bar cum cafe. The small plates are innovative, delicious and the Cod with Miso Butternut Squash purée the loveliest dish we have had in our 4 day Stay in Bath. It is right near the assembly rooms...

It’s not just wine at this shop, but the attached cafe too. Everything is elegantly rustic, classy and timeless. I was solo and sat in the window people watching, but the gathering groups clearly had a lovely time as well. The location is tucked away...

Such helpful staff. She got us some for the parking meter as we we short. The small plates were delicious especially the zucchini fritters and the heirloom tomatoes and goats cheese. Nice wine too

I do love coming here I find the staff to have been only ever generous of spirit kind ( when have not been "Quite Myself" ) A lot of fun too. Food and wine, other beverages are outstanding. A must visit if you find yourself in the beautiful city of Bath, you might even learn something of its history in terms of demographics etc. From the various wine maps on its walls.
